Max Keiser to speak in Novi Sad, Serbia, June 7 & 8

Stacy Summary: A reprint of excerpts from the invitation to Max to appear at the Novi Sad festival in Serbia.  It’s an exhibition and conference around the idea of money.  It sounds interesting, plus I think we can fulfill the demand from that one person in Serbia who is asking for Max Keiser in their hometown!

I’m writing to you regarding one event that we are preparing for June. It will be exhibition + small conference (better say bigger workshop…) and it will be part of film festival in Novi Sad called Cinema City. Opening of the event is on 6th of June. The conference will take place on 7th and 8th of June.

Working title of exhibition is “Wealth of Nations” (with clear reference to Adam Smith…) Idea for the topic of this year was to talk about the concept of money / financials. The reason for the theme was actually a bit before “global financial crisis” but it appears that GFC is good coincidence and gave the wind for realization of the topic. The title certainly refers to liberal economy that was dominant for several decades but it also could trigger the questions and notions of what we consider as wealth / exchange value in general (although this could be too wide and general)…

For the exhibition we are interested to include works & practices that are connected with money, financials and stock exchange issue from different perspectives.

We are organizing conference/talk about money and systems for value exchange, and idea is to do it on rather relaxed and non-dogmatic way and not so much from deep professional positions. It will be great if you could take part in conference.

Our idea is to have around 10-12 people for the talk and some could come from the field economics/humanities, some art & theory.

Also we would like to include your Pirate Myfilm, KarmaBanque, and Hollywood Stock Exchange in the exhibition, they fit perfectly to our topic.

The producer is Cinema City festival. Their idea is to somehow position themselves as regional film festival.  They are balancing between being mass pop culture film festival with content that is mostly coming from non/hollywood production.

Well. it might be interesting to talk about “financial crisis” in Serbia where the meaning of this word is a bit different than in some other parts of the world.

  1. It would be great if you could come, at least you don’t need a visa as we do ;)
I watch/listen to your stuff and would enjoy some time seeing you in my home country :)

  2. I’ll be there if Max is there…

  3. I can’t believe it,great! I’ll be coming from Belgrade. We have experienced hyperinflation, economy collapse and banking frauds. For many people here it’s easy to understand what are you talking about, we survived unimaginable crisis 15 years ago…

Little illustration, official exchange rates in 30.12.1993 (I highlighted US dollar, and you can also see interest rates:D in bottom). And those numbers were offical,in reality, Dinar become absolutely worthless. I was just a I kid then, but I can clearly remeber…bad memories

  4. Just make sure to get it camera recorded and put it on the net for the broader audience to see. :)

  5. Mr Supergeek

    Hi Y’All
I think the triple trippy optical illusion has layed an egg inside my skull and turned me into the most complex transmitter known in this or any other dimension.  I now broadcast Max and Stacy’s messages to weird and wonderful places…..”We are not of you,  but we would like to make you one of us”

  6. It is a shame you are not going to Zagreb, Croatia.

I am a big fan of Radio Ind. Zagreb — they produce some of the best (but also least expensive) high powered Shortwave / mw and Longwave transmitters in Europe.

With a good SW transmitter and proper directional antenna entire continents can be covered — but SW transmitters are the most complex of all transmitters due to their vast frequency coverage range.

Something tells me that RIZ is in a bit of a downturn, but at least they make industrial electric meters.

  7. Don’t forget to buy up some Hyperinflation currency from the region for illustrations for future programmes. I am assuming it can be found.

Economists, like the US comedy person “Carrot Top’ need visual aids from time to time…

I am no Hyperinflationista, but the US economy is in the classical ‘sweet spot’ for hyperinflation triggering economic events.
