The following may provide some answers:
In October 2005 the Pentagon ordered vaccination of all US military personnel worldwide against what it called Avian Flu, H5N1. Scare stories filled world media. Then, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced he had budgeted more than $1 billion to stockpile the vaccine, Oseltamivir sold under the name, Tamiflu. President Bush called on Congress to appropriate another $2 billion for Tamiflu stocks.

What Rumsfeld neglected to report at the time was a colossal conflict of interest. Prior to coming to Washington in January 2001, Rumsfeld had been chairman of a California pharmaceutical company, Gilead Sciences. Gilead Sciences held exclusive world patent rights to Tamiflu, a drug it had developed and whose world marketing rights were sold to the Swiss pharma giant, Roche. Rumsfeld was reportedly the largest stock holder in Gilead which got 10% of every Tamiflu dose Roche sold. 14 When it leaked out, the Pentagon issued a curt statement to the effect that Secretary Rumsfeld had decided not to sell but to retain his stock in Gilead, claiming that to sell would have indicated something to hide.’ That agonizing decision won him reported added millions as the Gilead share price soared more than 700% in weeks.

Tamiflu is no mild candy to be taken lightly. It has heavy side effects. It contains matter that could have potentially deadly consequences for a person’s breathing and often reportedly leads to nausea, dizziness and other flu-like symptoms.

Since the outbreak of Swine Flu Panic (not Swine Flu but Swine Flu Panic) sales of Tamiflu as well as any and every possible drug marketed as flu related have exploded. Wall Street firms have rushed to issue ‘buy’ recommendations for the company. ‘Gimme me a shot Doc, I don’t care what it is…I don’ wanna die…’

Panic and fear of death was used by the Bush Administration skilfully to promote the Avian Flu fraud. With ominous echoes of the current Swine Flu scare, Avian Flu was traced back to huge chicken factory farms in Thailand and other parts of Asia whose products were shipped across the world. Instead of a serious investigation into the sanitary conditions of those chicken factory farms, the Bush Administration and WHO blamed ‘free-roaming chickens’ on small family farms, a move that had devastating economic consequences to the farmers whose chickens were being raised in the most sanitary natural conditions. Tyson Foods of Arkansas and CG Group of Thailand reportedly smiled all the way to the bank.

Now it remains to be seen if the Obama Administration will use the scare around so-called Swine Flu to repeat the same scenario, this time with ‘flying pigs’ instead of flying birds. Already Mexican authorities have reported that the number of deaths confirmed from so-called Swine Flu is 7 not the 150 or more bandied in the media and that most other suspected cases were ordinary flu or influenza.

WHO just announced that swine flu has been moved to a level 5. Level 6 is a full blown pandemic (it was level 4 yesterday).

Re: swine flu. The media is going mental with this and they’re scaring the zombies. Just listened to Channel 4 news and there was a father on there whose children’s school has had a case of this flu (in the UK) and he was annoyed that they would only give an injection to one of his children (the other being in a different year) so he said he would be going to his GP to get the other child injected – what with I don’t know. I find it ironic that these people are demanding the state injects them whereas I think most of us would run a mile.
The other side of this is how scared people are getting, especially children. What the hell is going on?

Thanks Palantiri, that’s what I thought. Re: how did I know you are Norwegian – you mentioned it in your post.
Anyway, back to the topics at issue and in particular: swine flu. Did any of you know this:-
Czech newspapers are questioning if the shocking discovery of vaccines contaminated with the deadly avian flu virus which were distributed to 18 countries by the American company Baxter were part of a conspiracy to provoke a pandemic.

The claim holds weight because, according to the very laboratory protocols that are routine for vaccine makers, mixing a live virus biological weapon with vaccine material by accident is virtually impossible.

“The company that released contaminated flu virus material from a plant in Austria confirmed Friday that the experimental product contained live H5N1 avian flu viruses,” reports the Canadian Press.

Baxter flu vaccines contaminated with H5N1 – otherwise known as the human form of avian flu, one of the most deadly biological weapons on earth with a 60% kill rate – were received by labs in the Czech Republic, Germany, and Slovenia.

How should you have known? On a large scale I think Norway is one of the best countries of the world to live in, and that is being confirmed by many nation comparison tests. We do enjoy a high living standard and have a welfare model with universal healthcare, free education and a comprehensive social security. I think social standards/justice is good. We are safe, and as long the US/Britain doesn’t fuck things up for the rest of Europe we will continue to be safe. Anyway, I think you could enjoy it here, but remember we like any other nation have our own little problems to deal with.

Hey Palantiti, I didn’t know you were Norwegian. From what I’ve seen your country is streets ahead in terms of social justice and self sufficiency, am I wrong? I was thinking of moving to Norway so would appreciate if you would confirm whether Norway is likely to escape the madness that is lilely to befall the rest of us in the west, ie. is it one of the few ‘safe’ countries in the world?

Well Sharon, Muslims have a thing against swine (unclean animal) anyway so why not use the opportunity… Never waist a good crisis you know, politicians love that stuff.

Yesterday I read that California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency to respond to the swine flu outbreak as two fatalities in Los Angeles were being investigated for possible links to the virus. It is crazy, I mean… “Possible links” not confirmed links but still the jumpy Americans declare state of emergency.
At home or own health minister had press conference laying out scenarios of possible 1,2 Million people infected and possible 13000 people dead. What help is in that?
Also, reports of doctors around the country hoard Tamiflu to themselves and their family from drugstores. As they did in 2005 when frightened by the avian flu. Thanks a lot!
I read that Mexico authorities have previously stated that 20 people are confirmed dead as a result of swine flu, but the health minister Jose Angel Cordova says now that the figure is reduced to 7.
I guess most of you don’t understand Norwegian so I don’t give out links on any of this. But the whole situation is just so weird.

Just heard that Egypt has ordered the culling of all pigs despite being the only country so far with no reported cases of swine flu.
This is what happened in the UK when there was an outbreak of foot and mouth disease. Of course we found out later that the disease originated from a gov. lab. This was admitted by the UK gov who said it was one person had removed the virus from the lab. This one person was then able to spread the virus by visiting farms across hundreds of miles, all at the same time. I believe the virus was spread with the objective of wiping out independent farming, thus enabling the corporates to obtain more control over our food and therefore more control over the people.
