Stacy Summary: Travel across borders for humans is already severely restricted and is getting worse by the day; restrictions against the internet and free thought are increasing at an even more rapid pace; while bankers and capital are given free reign to go in and out as rapidly as they wish. Have created a MySpace page for PirateMyFilm (let’s see how long they allow us to keep it!) – go join/follow/comment while you can!!! What are your thoughts on the European elections?
Updates:
Global military spending rose 4% in 2008 to a record $1,464bn (£914bn) – up 45% since 1999, according to the Stockholm-based peace institute Sipri.
In contrast with civilian aerospace and airlines, the defence industry remains healthy.
“The global financial crisis has yet to have an impact on major arms companies’ revenues, profits and order backlogs,” Sipri said.
Stacy comment: The Global War on Terror as with the War on Drugs are just wars against competition, these alleged wars have created state backed monopolies in which those who dare to compete face multiple lifetime sentences. I know it’s obvious to anyone reading this blog but where are all the parties protesting this? There is only the Pirate Party as far as I can tell . . .

hopefully the BNP win will wake up our political class in having real options between the parties and not just 3 different wings of the business party. There’s a reason why only 35% voted in the most publicised euro election ever and it’s not all down to people to slack to vote.
About time Stacy!
I been waiting outside since 9 am, Damm it Woman!
Put the tea on, 2 sugars straired to the right, Right is Keiser up?

.. ban Sun readers from voting, perhaps?
@gonzomarx – my sentiments exactly; I think one of the most remarkable facts is that the LibDems failed to capture ANY of the so-called ‘dissent vote;’ . . . because they are too close to power, too big a party to escape the banker/lobbyists; same would happen to any of these so-called fringe parties; i think the only hope is if we just have so many ‘fringe’ parties that it bankrupts the banks and corporations in lobbying costs
Re: The European elections. In the UK the Conservatives won because people don’t seem to realise that when they say they’ll take us out of Europe they don’t actually mean it. Looks like Conservatives will win a general election as well which means we’re stuffed!
The pound gets pounded, isn’t that appropriate?
Its only natural that there is going to be fights over the virtual money as lots of it turn out to be counterfit, or the collateral is found to be displaced..There are a million ways the bankers have in the current situation to start a war, time to disarm them.
I thought the bailing out of Rio Tinto was pretty significant, they where supposed to be a gold resource for china. First no because of the ‘strategic nature’ of the ground, and now a simple breakup of the agreement..
http://www.chinaeconomicreview.com/dailybriefing/2009_06_05/Chinalco_abandons_Rio_Tinto_deal.html
Yeey! first prediction at http://www.mygoldprediction.com!! Max & Stacey, what do you think?
@ Stacy,
Re: LibDems. I don’t think they ever stood a chance because they broke their promise for a referendum on staying in Europe. The only main party that did not break their promise on a referendum was the Conservative party but that’s because they’re just plain sneaky and they know they can’t get us out of Europe so they make empy promises. The fringe parties have probably already got someone following the banksters orders – BNP’s Nick Griffin for one. Possibly UKIP’s Nigel Farage as well. And if the Greens are trying to sell the whole man-made global warming thing then they are probably in with the banksters too. Can’t trust anybody it seems. Time for a revolution me thinks.
I expected the low turn out, nothing much has changed, the UK results add pressure on Brown. There has been peripheral developments. Sinn Fein(in NI) and the SNP results show a tendency towards the break up of the UK. Gains from the far right show that anti-European feeling is still part of but not predominant in Europe.
The problems of the US/ UK economy are still to hit the EU fully
and that will shift the right left balance again.
Elections tell more about mood changes within the political class and their influences on the voting public.
The balance will shift towards the left again as the Anglo American model is shown not to be merely in a cyclical down turn but in systemic crisis.
Yet as the left parties have been moving to the right, their differences have been largely eradicated.
I expect even more voter apathy.
The changes at the periphery,
will have the most significance, if these trends develop we might
see the break up of the UK and as with Sweden, signs that the internet is having more to do with peoples lives than the alternative hyperreality of EU politics.
@Paul Anderson – yes, i think you are right about the left parties shifting to the right, leaving a giant vacuum; the only results that make me feel hopeful are those from Sweden . . . may be time for a new move? Though I believe we will see a meltdown in Latvia very very soon and this will probably spread through the Baltic . . . and to Sweden.
The funny thing about swedes, especially customers to Swedbank and SEB is that they (banks) are beginning to raise interrest rates and people are just standing still and watching this. There is no opposing force towards the banks behaviour.
Like said by Stacy and Max, they (we?) are hypnotized.. just like some prey just before the attack.
Now is the time when they are at their weakest to pressure for PR and break the hold of the 3 parties and except that the UK, like any other country has it’s fascists and to face them in the open.
Time for the UK to look in the mirror and decide if we are a bunch of fearful ponzi selling, arms dealers or use our skills and talents to forge a better future.

I get nothing from the political arena, libs, dems right left..the laws change very slowly and the pirates are not of the mind to deal with realworld problems (just my instinct)..What if copyright becomes the least important problem they face?
Its way past bedtime for action, perhaps we should applaud and invite hyperinflation, after all, it supresses the productive capacity thus slows down the degradation of the environment..
Why do people hate the BNP?
Mike
Election.
The main problem everywhere, it seems, is that we are all keen to vote the encumbents OUT, rather than vote for soemone decent IN. If the oppositions were any better they would be in government, not in opposition.
In Aus our two major parties are almost exactly the same, that is why the opposition is struggling to argue properly about anything of substance.
Be careful what you wish for folks.
Could things be any worse…..?
Probably.
I’m not saying they are good but revolution etc must be managed by intelliennt people for the better. My wife is from Venezuela and things are pretty grim there since the peoples hero, Chavez, is running the country into the ground.
I support the Keiser/Herbert ticket!
Viva la revolucion!
Just watching news and Extreme Right parties have gained seats.
Has this happened before?????
@Mike2Liverpool
really Mike!! “why do people hate the BNP”?
they shift the focus of blame on the weakest in society as with all fascists and support the owners who fund them. Be interesting to see the BNP funders list. Time for a F.O.I. request methinks.

@Mini US – yes, it has happened before. 1930′s. During the last global financial meltdown. And the populations’ distress is funneled toward the wrong people – i.e., they attack the weakest or most marginalised in society.
Thanks Stacy

Not sure if Bernanke is slow or this is just reported badly.

This from the same Bloomberg article…
“The Fed wants to operate in predictable ways,” Bianco said. “They are also trying to not just look arbitrary, which makes people think ‘I can’t ever go to the bathroom because there could be a press release that the Fed changed the buybacks.’ That’s been a real concern: ‘Wow, I just went to the bathroom and lost $2 million dollars.’”
Whatever Bianco is drinking, I want some!
@Mike2liverpool – Why do I hate the BNP?
Need I say more?

Okay, I will . . . the problem is NOT immigration, non-white or otherwise. Migration IS human history for the past 100,000 since we left Africa.

Forgive me but your neo-lib ness is showing. I had & have friends from asia, i went out with a very nice mixed race girl in thr 80′s………………Its the content of their heart not the colour of their skin.
For me its simply a numbers game, “They” know the Pension ponzi game is up if they don’t keep adding numbers to the base.
We are now expected to “Ship in” vast numbers of unwanted people…………we need to build a city the size Manchester every 3 years to house them………………guess what Luv, we don’t have a lot of space to spare.
I know one asian shop keeper who is very big on Islam & a wonderful guy who told me he was voting BNP because he was sicknend with Labour upsetting the balance……
Mike
@Danny – Woohoo!! Thanks for sending that. How are things in Ireland today? What’s the mood on the street with the election results?
@Danny … ” Eliz. Warren” & “Stacy on brasscheck TV”
Are you surprised ?
She is chairwomen of the “Congressional Oversight Committee” …. with emphasis on “oversight” !
… as in “I oversaw that” .. meaning “I missed it” !
Actually, in all seriousness, I thought that show was ComedyCentral !
Seriously !
… hence the “embedded laughter”
Tell me I’m wrong !!
@Mike2liverpool – The response should be a demand for humans to be as free as capital. Without that, it is an unfair fight. The capital markets will continue to crush labour and hollow out industry every time. Bernie Madoff can pilfer tens of billions with zero oversight or restriction because he was in the ‘capital class,’ but try crossing a border with more than £10 in your pocket as Joe Bag of Donuts. I would love to be able to move to other more dynamic locations in the world, but I am not free to. Capital, however, is allowed to go to those areas and cause as much havoc to the people as possible. When ‘capital’ gets into a fight with our political leaders how do they fight the battle? They threaten to leave. We can’t do that because we don’t have the same rights as capital.
Like any to big to fail company Europe is to big to not be corrupted. We’ve only just seen the top of the ice berg. People let the European taxpayer pay for their very expensive 4 star hotels cause “We also think during the vacation”, was the explanation of the Euro buff.
It was, is and always be a failure this corrupted European money slundering molog institution.
@Stacey&Danny Cheer on! You guys are all over Brasscheck.tv..

I disagree with Bicycle Mark’s analysis that the progress of Geert wilders in Holland is fear based. Lots of dutch people wonder why it is so hard for muslims to denounce and reject the agressive parts of the koran. The answer is that (some) muslims will break the law to avoid that (by threats and violence), all the more reason to protect the secular nature of dutch law.
Dutch politicians are like children when debating mr. Wilders, its super embarrasing. They don’t know how to benefit from the angle he offers. This is why the PVV and D66 won, because they deal with issues rather than try to ignore it..
@ Stacy
Globalisation was never meant for us plebs.
Did we ever ask for it, or even agree to it?
We were told of the enormous benefits from it (swine flu) and we gobbled it up like morons.
Globalisation is for business, same as the Euro, etc.
Us punters just happen to live on the same planet as businessmen, sometimes we are useful (to buy stuff) but generally we just get in the way.

Heard a great quote by Jim Puplava (thanks whoever posted Financial Sense Newshour).
He made a very good point that GM were given the $50 Billion bailout, but even in the BEST years of GM’s recent history they couldn’t get near making that much money. So how they gonna pay THAT back as business slides into the abyss.
Investment strategy of saving jobs in the short term I guess.
@Stacy
No worries. We had European elections and 2 by-elections in Dublin. Fianna Fáil (party in power) got annihilated. There will be now no Fianna Fáil representative in Europe from the Dublin area now which unprecedented. Joe Higgins (socialist) even got elected. George Lee (Fine Gael) was a journalist of economics and has now become a TD (MP). He was warning for years that the Irish economy was in danger- mind you, he never used the word derivatives of counterfeit American bonds.
Generally, theres alot of anger towards Fianna Fáil- Fine Gael appear now to be the dominent party. Theres talk of the current government collapsing…. as for the EU, they make 80% of our laws and they control our money. Irish sovereignty is joke.
@stacy.
Thanks for your reply. Helped me with my usual post election hangover. (no drink involved). I ll keep my eyes on Latvia.
Just in case you were wondering. Like recently I got accused
of coining the word “kleptocracy”. The word “hyperreality” is not mine at all either.

God i thought you were brighter than this.
Mike
@Mike2liverpool
suggest you read up on a few activities ( via serious books ) that were never reported in MSM .. you’d be surprised what actually goes on.
Just for interest .. do you still think there were WMDs in Iraq ?
@Stacey
I get that there are lunatics full of racial hate, even capable of making poison and plotting terrorist acts. Don’t see how this can be linked to someone openly asking questions whether it is appropriate for people to recite and act on admonitions about abusing woman or killing infidels and gays from an old book written in a different era.
Wilders echos my position that religion is no license to break common law, and when religion is positioned as a body of law in itself (like the sharia) it will have to be introduced in the same painstaking way laws have been introduced for centuries, no exceptions or favors. Imposition of new law without democratic process is akin to instant occupation.
You probably know about Pat Condell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW6PRABq4HM He has a point, and brings it strongly.
Our dutch ‘deliberation culture’ causes us to appease people, while we have every right to expose and attack opinions we would not want to be part of it.
What gets me most is the sensitivity to ‘insult’ expressed by several religions, mainly by muslims but also by jews, christians. Considering something an insult demonstrates a lust for conflict and an implied sense of conquest and dominance. It provides an opportunity for more severe and real agression which has been siezed much to greedily for my comfort on recent occasions.
Take a koran, stripe all the discriminating, violent and bellicose parts red, make a decree saying no imam or muslim religious authority will preach or practice these parts (what use would they have?) and we’re done..
Our Theo van Gogh called muslims ‘goatfuckers’ on national radio (he meant the berbers from morocco) which insults common decency. Still there was no reason to kill him like a pig (shot and slit open in the street), and the fact ‘killing’ is even an option under consideration should make Wilders point instantly valid.
Phil
No, but i didn’t require Alex Jones to tell me that……………he claimed at a sat TV box had a hidden camera in it……….it was an RF CHOKE!

Who voted BNP and why? http://bit.ly/188PTj (h/t Gonzomarx)
Yes, the global elites (a consortium of Amero-Anglo-Dutch privileged Bastardes) are doing their best to restrict public gatherings and cross-border movements of the common folk. The venal press is complicit with the money powers and try their best to scare people into staying put and following orders. This is being accomplished by fearmongering, disinformation, and misdirection of one’s attention into frivolous irrelevancies.
A good case in point is the recent Swine, or H1V1 flu “pandemic.” Travel restrictions, quarantines, and mass hysteria have resulted from public fear of contracting this fatal malady. Ice-cold fear has been promulgated by talking heads on the telly, print screed, and Internet bloggers.
However, just a few, widely available numbers suggest that we are very far from pandemic conditions, as of this time. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/keyfacts.htm) states that, on the average, 36.000 persons die from influenza each year in the US. Although there is a concentrated flu season, just deriving a monthly average of flu deaths would calculate to an expectation of 3.000 deaths per month. As of 5 Jun 09, 27 people have perished from H1V1 in the US, to date. While good statistical analysis requires more number crunching than this, common sense indicates that 27 fatalities versus a much larger monthly expectation doth not a pandemic make. To qualify as a pandemic it would probably require, say, 3.000 x 1,5 = 4.500 deaths in a single month, in the US alone.
As of the same date, the World Health Organisation reports that 103 persons have died from H1V1 in Mexico. While I can’t handily find the expected mortality, we can perform some extrapolation. 36 thousand / 305 million folks in the US = 0,0001. And 0,0001 x the population of Mexico, 110.000.000 folks = 11.000 expected flu deaths per annum. I would adjust the 11 thousand upwards by, say, 20% to allow for less optimal health conditions in Mexico, therefore raising expected flu deaths to 13.200, or 1.100 expected flu deaths per month. And, a pandemic would likely see mortality expectations rise to 1.100 x 1,5 = 1.650 persons per month. So far, reported deaths in Mexico, to date, are only 6.2% of mean monthly expectations.
What is going on here? This trumpeted, pandemic travesty is little more than the Chicken Little fable writ large. The major media should be ashamed of themselves for pandering their rotten, ill informed garbage as “news,” However, as Lenin knew very well, lie often and consistently, and the common folk, basking in a sensation of certainty radiating from one who knows, will happily stand in queue for their turn in the abbatoir.
Sorry, in my above posting, “H1N1″ should be substituted for “H1V1.”
So many languages, so little time.
@Phil… Thanks for the tip. From the moment the flight was said to be missing and difficult to find, I eagerly awaited word as to who was ‘coincidentally’ down with it. People who are a thorn in the side of corruption need to avoid planes, especially small ones, but planes in general. Larry McDonald is before my time but that story intrigues me.
Re: Two key figures in fight against arms trade died on Air France flight.
Well, there we have it. The very same reason Princess Diana had to die, ie. she was getting too close to exposing the arms trade, land mines, etc. and had too much of a voice.
I didn’t vote BNP and wouldn’t but I do agree with Mike2liverpool. We can’t sustain a city the size of Manchester being built every 3 years, I guess you have to live it to come to that conclusion, although common sense would dictate that it’s pretty obvious. Immigration is OK if done properly, ie. gradually and allowing for integration. This has not happened in the UK and now we have a situation where people look around and think is this still somewhere I can call my country. IMO it is important for people to have a collective to protect and fight for. If that disappears then they have only themselves to fight for which is a weak position to be in – I’m assuming this was well known by the ptb.
Hi y’all
I’ve read this site daily since its inception. I come here looking for intelligent discussion between people who are tuned in, processing the information out there and sharing their thoughts.
…and then some fools start talking about the bnp having a possible solution to our problems!
Should we RISE UP and laugh these small minded members off the page…. or just ignore them? Its a low point for this usually thoughtful and inspiring site.
Respect to Max and Stacy – love what you do
