  • Sorry to go off topic so early in a thread but…
    Swine Flu.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8092474.stm
Ok, so in Aus we are beginning winter. People are getting colds and flu symptoms. GP’s are inundated with people freaked out they are going to die.
This is the flu. The media is calling it a desease. A radio station here reported that the testing wasn’t even accurate. On this basis the WORLD may go into ‘Pandemic mode’.
As far as quarentining rugby players. They interviewed one on tv and he just said (in rugby voice) “I was surprised, I feel fine”.
Ok, its a serious subject and people have died in Mexico and elsewhere.
Ron Paul even said that more people got sick from the vaccine in the US when they previously had a scare. He says it here…

I just think we need to get some experts running the show here and not the media outlets desperate for ratings.

  • Royal Canadian Mint ordered to call in RCMP over missing gold

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/06/09/missing-mint-gold060909.html

“She said an unprecedented demand for gold in 2008 put pressure on the mint’s internal control systems, which led to the “unreconciled difference” between the gold on hand and the value recorded in the mint’s books”

BTW the online gold thing(gold money?) requires absolute blind trust in the present owner and all potential owners, unless you have the gold with you. If the gold is in the service providers or any other vault than your nothing is preventing the oldest racket there is, that although there might be enough gold to meet your claim there could be less gold in total than the total sum sold.

  • They had the names,…but allowed them on board,….hmm,…bit fishy?
(I’m playin the game by the way,…knowing it’s all bull!)

  • Terrorist suspects my ass.
    How convenient.
    Another bullshit story coming.
Don’t forget folks if you are Muslim, you are a suspect period.

  • Funny how humanity repeats its mistakes made through history.

    WW3 here we come!

  • Brazil to buy IMF bond in $10 bln pledge-official

    http://www.reuters.com/article/bondsNews/idUSSPG00237220090610

    First Russia, now Brazil .
    Well , it’s a start !

  • That article about FEMA drilling on home soil with foreign troops is scary shit.

  • Russia and Brazil supporting/trusting the IMF, how is that a good thing? How are IMF bonds different from US bonds? Why subsidize an organization that devestates and pillages your resources?

  • “Tony Haywood, chief executive of BP, said an oil price of between $60 and $90 per barrel was necessary to prevent another price spike in the near future.”

Certainly Tony is not suggesting that oil prices are subject to manipulation, is he? Yet, quantity made available for supply at any given price can play havoc in an environment of pretty-well inelastic demand.

Although demand for oil registers the worst in 30 years, yet uppa da price stilla goes! Just like the name of the Afro-American baby produced by two Chinese parents, “Sum Ting Wong!”

And now a petroleum-related song I should have written during my long-haired, rock-and-roll days:

    GAS STATION GIRL
    By Noe Fumar

I met her on the corner
    Of two streets downtown,
    She was wearing roller skates
    And dressed like a clown.
When she asked, “Fill ‘er up?”
She got my heart in a whirl –
I knew that she was going to be
    My gas station girl!

    Gas, gas, gas
    Station girl!
    She pumps all the fluids
    That ignite my world!
    Gas, gas, gas
    Station girl!
    She is my
    Gas station girl!

Her hair is kind of greasy,
She don’t smell like a rose.
    But she is an expert
    When she handles a hose!
    She cleans-up messy spills
    With the greatest of ease:
    My gas station girl
    Is always willing to please!

    O gas, gas, gas
    Station girl!
    She pumps all the fluids
    That ignite my world!
    Gas, gas, gas
    Station girl!
    She is my
    Gas station girl!

    When I’m feeling lonely
An’ my gauge is on low,
    I climb into my car
‘Cause I know just where to go.
I drive down to the station
    In the full-service line,
    An’ when my baby comes
I know it’s gonna be fine!

    G-g-g-gas, gas, gas
    Station girl!
    She pumps all the fluids
    That ignite my world!
    Gas, gas, gas
    Station girl!
    She is my
    Gas station girl!

  • @Mother Earth .. “Russia and Brazil supporting/trusting the IMF,”

Of course not … I meant it maybe the start of the US$ losing it’s importance. i.e. “It’s the beginning of the end ”

That they want to replace it with what will probably be another fiat currency is beside the point .. for the moment!

  • @Phil

I get it. But the demise of the USD is not enough to purge the global economy. The fiat currency system needs to fold, and as long as anybody takes IMF bonds seriously it hasn’t.

    @scott, Good posts!

  • So the IMF bonds is/are gold backed?

  • Isn’t the move towards the IMF as the Central Bank of the World?
I am hearing – Not enough gold to back a world currency – if that is the plan (I think they call it the End Game. Sounds ominous).
Who the hell runs the IMF anyway? The internationalists!?
Is it Alan Greenspan and other retired failures.

  • This is worthy for submission to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not –
as it fits into the “you just can’t win” category of stuff that Ripley featured a lot during the hight of his career 1925-1949….

Italian who missed fatal Air France flight dies in car crash

    http://en.rian.ru/world/20090610/155219163.html

MOSCOW, June 10 (RIA Novosti) – An Italian woman who arrived late for the Air France plane flight that crashed in the Atlantic last week, killing all 228 on board, has died in a car accident, Italy’s ANSA news agency reported.

Johanna Ganthaler, a pensioner from the Bolzano-Bozen Province (South Tyrol), and her husband Kurt, were vacationing in Brazil and missed Air France flight 447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris on June 1. The couple took a flight to Europe later that day.

The car veered off the road near Kufstein, Austria, killing Johanna.

  • @juergenwald: The Saudi’s have for some time ( post the $147.00 speculative crude oil price of yore)…always said that they require a $70.00 barrel price to sustain their economy…even when the price went to $35.00 a barrel recently they maintained that was their intention…So they have brought that price to fold…any surprises??? as always, Richard@lattitude30N

  • ‘Terrorist suspects were on doomed Air France plane’ – now that’s what I call waterboarding. Our plods just flush your head down the loo.

  • Did we see a convergence of assasination attempts on that Air France flight?

Didn’t we see a video saying Goldman Sachs allowed Saudi Arabia to double the price of its oil in return for holding the proceeds many years ago? What about the manipulated oil price last year. It hasn’t been a real market for a long time.

  • @bzmoore … “So the IMF bonds is/are gold backed?”

Don’t Panic! IMF to issue bonds – in SDRs

As I said, possibly the beginning of the end for the US$ , i.e. the first step towards a OneWorld currency ?

  • HI max
I am student of economy. I listen to ur shows its fantastic. I have lots of friends they are not a student of economics and i talk to many people here in united states and they are so unaware the coming problems and i know some people who have lost job and they are so frustrated. I try to explain them how we get in this mess. Banks have WIN WIN situation but some one is goin to loose is Common people. Government spends money like a newly married bride on honeymoon. They think Chinese , russian and saudis are Fool and keep on buyin Treasury debts.
I am actually From asia. i have lots of asian friends who owns lots of business in US. from chinese, indians, lebanese. vietnamese. They are hard workers, they work and save and invest.

  • @Bill,…..doesn’t the taxpayer fund HMS prisons also? or am I being naive,…..

  • @Dedo – yes taxpayer finances prisons too, so that story is a non-story really; I believe it is actually more expensive to take care of old people in prisons because they have to create special facilities for this . . . there is a problem with this in the US where 100 year type sentences are the norm, even stealing a slice of pizza can get you a couple decades; so the US prison system is now dealing with the results of this long sentence policy that started under Reagan; lots of old people in diapers who need to be carried from cell to their one hour outside cell sort of thing.

  • @Stacy –”Chelsea in the morning” or is it Paris?? Well yes in the US BOP there are several ‘medical facilities’ in place to handle prisoner medical/surgical operations and to a degree elderly care….One in Rochester MN, and another in Fort Worth TX comes to mind…You might remember the late John Gotti died in prison of cancer..he was in one or the other facilities when he passed..Though I am not a ‘fan’ of organized crime ( I pay my taxes annually!!!HA!HA!! to the real ongoing criminal: the IRS), one has to look back to the recent past and think hard of the types of crimes we accepted as a people as genuine crimes with nostalgia!! As Catherine Austin Fitts has previously said: “The crime that pays in the crime that stays”…Looking forward to her being On the Edge…regards, Richard@lattitude30N
