    look i realise you guys may not c this / care and that maybe (unfortunately) some ppl here will call me an idiot for saying this but… recently on the aj show max essentially told people to buy guns and, like, i really like listening to you guys and think u make valid points most of the time etc etc but i dont want to be listening to people who are encouraging others to be violent because frikin violence just fks things up more so pls, m,ax, can you try and b more measured in your comments….

    I presume he’s talking about the style of the show.
    ( Audio was a bit faint at times )
    .. as in up/down softagressive I presume.

    my guess is that Max meant it .. “metaphorically speaking”.
    I didn’t see the AJ show you mentioned ( or maybe I did ), but I’m sure Max has never asked people to become violent .

    @alister ~~~ you’d better start praying that your wife and kids will be ‘looked after’ when your food is taken and you’re dumped lifeless in the street. Gold coins won’t help for long as it’s all about food and shelter, especially up here in the Frozen North. Do you think the banksters really care about your family?

    If you’re a single person it’s different. Are you planning to join a gang, maybe as a cook?

    If the worst comes to the worst I think we’ll all be forming small neighborhood groups for mutual protection. Then there’s the nuclear solution…

    @phil and @alister: No I listened to the AJ show w/ Max and almost at the last Max “wondered” why the American public hadn’t gone bonkers and started the 2nd American Revolution by now…and yes the 1st one was full of violence…

    I think its ment as the way politicians are talking nowadays,avoiding the questions not answering etc,ask gordon brown how we are going to pay off are debt and he will tell you about the moon and the stars etc.

    at the very end of the interview max mentions the 2nd amendment right to bear arms as a way to defend against tyranny, and asks alex – “what are people waiting for?”

    Jefferson and friends had this in mind – that’s part of the perpetual revolution they envisioned, and unfortunately weapons will be used when power is at stake. I personally am not so interested in taking part in a violent stuggle, but I appreciate max’s comment because it’s a little tickly, like dark Carlin humor. (America is circling the drain)

    Anyway, it’s now time for zag. Accelerating zigs and zags leading into all out anarchy? Or something like that. Enjoy the spectacle.

    Alister, how do guns equal violence? Do knives? What about sword collectors? Is having a loaded gun in your house in case someone breaks into your house a bad thing? You must not have listened to Alex Jones too much, you missed him saying over and over that the American people have become so domesticated and brainwashed that most people think like you on the issue of gun ownership. I really don’t understand how you are so deluded, but you must watch a lot of television and gobble up most anything that is on the left. I’ve talked to a lot of people who think that owning guns is really radical and right wing for some reason. I don’ t get that. But I didn’t grow up in NYC either. Hunting deer is awesome by the way. If you’ve never had a venison roast you don’t know what you’ve been missing. But go ahead and rationalize your anti hunting sentiments over a hamburger. Eat it while driving in Virginia and try not to hit a deer on your way home.
    So, Alister, do you think that only the gov’t should own guns? While the often cited figures on gun deaths show the obvious correlation when comparing the US vs. Britain, the facts that AJ cites on Vermont style gun laws show the real deal. Do you want to ban guns and not have one but crooks and cops can have em? If so, you are way too trusting of the gov’t.
    Go ahead and continue feeling that you are somehow on the good side of the gun debate. YOu will only help the truly evil side take away guns from the people. Look at history and gun ownership. SLAVES DON”T OWN GUNS

    im not an american but i understand that the legal right to own a gun in america is enshrined in your social fabric – for better or for worse – through your constituion, and so i would never be so culturally insensitive that i just disparage that bit of your countries history and indeed your right to hold onto it, however, i think it’s really important that pop alternative political figures during these times explain to the people who listen to them that ghandi-esque forms of public, pacifist grievance will, in the end, help engender far more people to your cause and I think be more beneficial than ranting on and on about ‘slaves’ and ‘revolutions’ like lunatics. this is 2009, not the 1700s. Is it too much to ask for people to be civilised, even in the face of all this insanity? I think not.

    In America, the country was founded with gun ownership in mind and as such the debate has some context. In the UK, where the police never used to carry guns, the debate has always been about denying the aristocracy the right to carry guns/go fox hunting/whip there man servants etc.

    Maybe now that the police do carry tasers/guns/bombs etc we should have the debate in the UK, and I would welcome the debate but the context is not the same and neither should it be.

    I am not a globalist, and I enjoy the cultural firewalls between debates, I do not ‘get’ gun ownership – is it a mandatory desire? Why would someone want or need a gun? In a similar sense, Max has often cited his bemusement at the anger some people in the UK manifest within the fox-hunt debate – then again he is american where hunting is far more accepted as a mainstream pursuit. In the UK context, guns and hunts are generally regarded as a status symbol for the elite, in the US they are a right. (Yeh – I know there are hundreds of anomalies in the UK, I am trying to keep this brief – fishing etc)

    I suspect that UK citizens will benefit from gun ownership in the US, whilst the US would benefit when the UK elite are denied their land owning privileges, I trust both parties will work hard to this end. Keep it real, keep it in context.

    Sorry, but at first I thought Max had finally lost it, what with the rocking back and forth in his chair. Then when he went on to talk about Zig and Zag I thought Yep, he’s lost it. And that’s what I like about him – his eccentric unpredictability bordering on lunacy.

    I was brought up with guns. My father was a top UK marksman and I’ve used .. 303, .22, Rev-38, Rev-45, Stirling submachine guns, Brennguns, 12-bore, 4-bore etc. etc. etc. ( not bragging of course ).

    I have Zero interest in owning a gun today .

    The UK was at one time almost gun-free.
    If ever a criminal actually used a gun, he knew he’d get life.
    It was safe to walk on the streets in those days.

    IMO….
    Dumned down Television ( not computer games ) and mainly US imported films have led to breaking taboos so that (UK) criminals now think “it’s OK” to use a gun .. or a knife. So … nobody thinks twice these days.

    I prefer the old days we used to have .. personally.

    Sure .. some of the US imports are good , but do they really always have to glorify guns so much ?

    I lived a few yours in Boston US.
    There is a lot at stake, the Federal Reserve, the US
    central bank is looting and destroying the country at all levels
    It is a staged attack and and it all fits into there global agenda.
    The US government is converting itself into a criminal fascist mob.
    The people need guns to rise up. When they can´t turn the tide thinks will get very much worse, encountering military conflicts etc.
    Max, I do not understand much of your zig zag thing—
    what´s up? you look very stressed on this clip?

    Self preservation is as important to humans as say air and water. One would not shut themselves off from these intentionally, right? So why shut oneself off from self protection?

    I can give one high five to the man Mr. Obama. His cabinet is ending the war on drugs (which, drug use and abuse is the main culprit in most violent crime, along with alcohol abuse) and moving instead towards rehabilitation. A very positive move IMHO. Not much else to celebrate.

    Slaves never owned guns, they didn’t even own the shovels and picks they were handed.

    @alister a good study you may find interesting about the need for guns is here. When the down trodden Virginia coal miners (the battle for Blair Mtn.) couldn’t take the slavery any more they protested and asked for more wages. The companies brought in highered guns snipers, and machine guns to suppress the slaves and get their asses back into the mines. The miners fought back with what they had, guns.

    Some slaves did have weapons. I’d refer you to the ancient spartan Helots.

    They were kept in submission by the promise of a better life upon completion of military service.

    This is the exact same model we see in America. “Join the Navy, free college!” or “stay with GM and you’ll get a pension.”

    alister – I am a pacifist, but as such I dont recognise the state’s monopoly of violence. The right to bear arms isnt in the constitution to aid violence, it is so people can protect themselves from government. That actually has some sense to it.

    I disagree with quite a lot of what Alex Jones says, but that is no reason to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
