Zig and Zag were on a childrens’ show called ‘The Den’ on Irish tv during the 80′s and 90′s. I grew up watching them– they’re an Irish institution. They also appeared on The Big Breakfast in the UK for a couple of years. Story goes they’re from the planet Zog (apparently Max also comes from there!) and have a pet dog caslled Zuppy. There’s a wee tear in the eye thinking back to those days….

@Germany … a little piece of news .

On TV Main News, it was said that Politicians are thinking about introducing a penalty for those that “stay at home” , i.e. do not go out and vote. … 50 Euros !!

I suspect it’s because the SPD did so miserably in the EU vote.
Just imagine people being “forced” to vote .. I thik they’d all vote Extreme Right … or maybe even the PirateParty !

BTW … it’s summer, so I suppose such News is normal.

Most of the points in there , I – myself – have been screaming about for over 2 years ! Max will agree on the “sequence of event” I’m pretty sure !

I am NOT waiting for anyone to prosecute the obvious , as the US Justice system is unlikely to take the matter up IMO.

Yea, they were on TV when I was a kid right after school every day on a station called Network 2 (now RTE 2)

They also co-starred with Dustin the turkey of eurovision fame (or shame depending on how you look at it)

The same guys do another comedy duo called Podge & Rodge!

I remember Z&Z getting pulled off the radio for 2 weeks around 1987, some obnoxious kid had phoned in and was rattling off what pressies he had got for his birthday gold top hat, elephant’s foot umbrella stand, that sort of thing, at the end Zig or maybe Zag says ‘lucky little bleeder aren’t ya’. Ireland’s such a conservative country it’s a wonder they ever made it on the radio let alone the telly.

yeah I remember watching Z & Z in the early 90s when they were on a kid’s show. I think when they moved to British tele they became a little edgier for the Channel 4 morning shows and now of course the guys who played them do ‘Podge & Rodge’, 2 of the filthiest (and funniest) characters you’re likely to see on Irish tv.
