The verb ‘to guilt’ you invented should be applied to the journalist that wrote the fallacious article. Here is a line from the minefields of CNBC:

Following in the great literary tradition of the American MSM, CNBC journalist decides to apply the guilt of one very ugly psychopath with children and ‘to guilt’ the entire group defined by the word mother. No data, no studies, no assisting crimes necessary-just lay it out for a gullible public and a new trend can be conjured with the stroke of a keyboard. Voila! done. Can be applied to any group at any time, ‘to guilt’ is a necessary application of journalist putspa in a decadent and decaying police state.

@Mr Supergeek – you aren’t seeing the comments that are not getting through and that are in response and in support of those comments you can see here! furthermore, we speak about bankers, banking and finance and they obviously run the game in the words of Durbin ‘they own the place’ . . . and I know for a fact that intelligence services hire private contractors who fill these kind of sites with loads of comments that via their wackiness, racism, relgiious slurs, etc are meant to discredit the site

believe me, I don’t want to have to do this as I hate having to spend my day approving comments when I am writing and researching other stuff; but like I said there are loads of other sites dedicated to the debate if people want to debate that

@all – sorry but after two days of discussions about race and whether or not certain words are racial slurs I am locking off comments at the moment, so all new comments will for the moment have to be approved until we find some suggestions for other sites and forum boards that offer space dedicated to debating race issues; I prefer to keep our site as a place to discuss and debate finance, markets and banking primarily with some technology, copyright and new media issues as well; and while I understand that race, religion & gender can play a role in finance and I am not against discussing or debating where appropriate, I believe there are literally dozens and dozens of sites on which the Obama race issue is debated and the fact that it has been discussed so much in the past 48 hours here is drawing people to our site away from those sites dedicated to the issue.

I agree with you Mike, I’m just saying that when I made the same observation things got nasty. I guess in the UK we have a different interpretation of the phrase, the urban dictionary defines it as this:-
“A black man who will do anything to stay in good standing with “the white man” including betray his own people”
Now, perhaps I’m deluded, but, in all honesty, isn’t that what is happening with Obama? He is very much in the pocket of the white oligarchs and as a result the blacks and hispanics in America are getting very little out of his presidency, in fact most poor people will suffer because his policies are to protect the rich at the expense of the poor. When Obama became president I, like many others, had hoped he would help those less fortunate and especially the black people in America who, imho, continue to get a raw deal (eg. 1 in 4 black men will go to jail at some point). Actually, when he was elected it stirred emotions in me of hope/relief/joy at the prospect of someone becoming president who might actually understand the problems of the poor and the ordinary person (and let’s face it – that was a big part of the theme of his presidency campaign and as a result many poor people and those in the ethnic minorities voted him in, many now are apparantly regretting it).
So for me personally, I’d like to put this thing to bed. I am not racist and if I were forced into choosing a race that I least preferred, guess what? I’d say the white man because most of the evil in this world has been perpetrated by the white man. Skin colour has never meant a damn thing to me and most of my friends happen to be black (oddly enough it is they who are calliing him an uncle tom). It is a pity that people jump to conclusions and that in itself will be detrimental to free speech imo. There are times when racism is obvious and at those times it should be slammed down – the colour of somebody’s skin is bloody irrelevant but when somebody uses it to gain something (presidency of the US and don’t tell me his campaign didn’t go there) then people, especially black people, will call him on it as they will feel deceived by his slogan of change when they thought it meant change for them at least.

@ptah – thanks for those links; the China story will get no static on twitter because the intelligence services don’t want to dissipate the attention from #iranelection; and twitter users tend to have no sympathy for anyone else but their own reflection, peasants whether in Peru, Honduras or China have aspirations for things like justice and equality that many twitter users will see as dangerous to their own house flipping mass consumption aims, they think helping the poor will harm their chances of being an oligarch
