@mep

yep, its kinda bizzare to imagine, I guess its the nwo, no borders, peasant slave's.

@sharon
Its not an easy choice, by any stretch. Too many choices.
I plan to fill the food gap in japan and abroad, figure Canada is a good base. Can siphon wealth from the rich to the poor and starving abroad.

I like the south pacific too much, I want an island. :D

Geldof is a shill for the British oligarchy. Berlusconi is a Russian friend, so he has to be attacked. What else do you expect from the City of London crowd?

Looking for morality in this is naive.

@ ispice,

Top 3 choices? Now this is where is gets difficult because you almost need a crystal ball. I'm trying to imagine where in the world there might be future wars or starvation. I'm inclined to say France, South America or Thailand. I just have an uneasy feeling about the last two choices because they maybe on the hit list or the people may turn against westerners as time goes on. I would consider Canada or New Zealand but I don't think I'll meet the visa requirements. Making the right decision is really bloody difficult (as I said before women aren't very good at making the 'big' decisions).

@ Phil,
Tanks for that Phil. I watched the video by modern mystic - he's very good, I'll watch more of him from now on. Regarding the video of William Engdahl, I found him very credible which freaked me out a bit coz he doesn't paint a pretty picture does he? He only mentions the US though, but I assume that his predictions pertain to the UK as well given the close connection.

@ispice - I'm with you on the "land-grab optimists." From the global research article I linked to, I find nothing optimistic about this:

"Some agro-imperialists may take advantage of the recession to buy cheaply now and look forward to long-term profits when the multi-trillion dollar state-funded recovery takes effect. Others may cut back on their land grabs or more likely hold vast expanses of valuable land out of production until the ‘market’ improves – while dispossessed peasants starve on the margins of fallow fields."

This must be a M&S wet dream..

The most bizarre incident involving McNamara occurred when he was president of the World Bank and, off on his summer holiday, he caught the Martha's Vineyard ferry. It was a night crossing in bad weather. McNamara was in the salon, drink in hand, schmoozing with fellow passengers. On the deck outside a vineyard local, a hippie artist, glanced through the window and did a double-take. The artist was outraged to see McNamara, whom he viewed as a war criminal, so enjoying himself.

He immediately opened the door and told McNamara there was a radiophone call for him on the bridge. McNamara set down his drink and stepped outside. The artist immediately grabbed him, wrestled him to the railing and pushed him over the side. McNamara managed to get his fingers through the holes in the metal plate that ran from the top of the railing to the scuppers.

McNamara was screaming bloody murder; the artist was prying his fingers loose one at a time. Someone heard the racket and raced out and pulled the artist off.

Talked to a Dutch/Surinam businesman yesterday. China, India and Iran(!) are big agricultural investors there as well. He explained Surinam politics is really about getting things done from the true deciders. That would be either the murderous ex leader Bouterse (killed 15 political opponents in a coup, but free in Surinam), or the jungle/pirate Brunswijk (who is defacto minister of waterways). Both are not in government..

You can grow food in the hottest countries using so called 'desert greenhouses', and of course use my solar powerplant design..

So much for Daewoo's Madagascar plans.

Daewoo bankrupt.

@land grabber optimists
Seriously?

I mean what if it was Goldman Sachs not Morgan Stanley's 100 000 acres in the Ukraine. The first worlds dont have the greatest track record for sustainable agriculture.

"The environmental tab of highly intensive farming – devastated soils, dry aquifer, and ruined ecology from chemical infestation – will be left for the host country to pick up."

Sorry for the cut and paste, but this just came in through the out door...

July 6, 2009

Dear Friend of Liberty,

Earlier today, the first shot in our battle to pass Audit the Fed through the U.S. Senate was fired on the Senate floor by Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina.

Senator DeMint, who has a well-deserved reputation for taking the battle to the other side in the Senate, once again proved why he is such a valuable ally in our fight to bring transparency and accountability to the Federal Reserve.

A little while ago, the Senate voted to pass HR 2918, the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act. This $3 billion bill contains, among many other things, provisions for GAO audits on certain agencies.

Seizing on a chance to take quick action to bring Audit the Fed up for a vote, and with the GAO provisions in mind, Senator DeMint attached the full text of S 604, the Senate version of Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill, to HR 2918 as Senate Amendment 1367 before it was considered for final passage.

However, Senate Democrats refused to even allow a vote on the amendment! That's right. The internationalist, Fed-loving elite in the Senate used a parliamentary tactic to shut down DeMint's amendment.

After Senator DeMint brought Audit the Fed to the floor, Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska raised a "point of order" to prevent a vote, claiming that the amendment violated Senate Rule 16 by "legislating" on an appropriations bill. The Senate president agreed, and the amendment was shot down.

Senator DeMint did not back down, though, and directly challenged Senate leadership by pointing out the other GAO audits contained in the bill. As Senator DeMint listed them off, the Senate president was forced to agree with Senator DeMint that each one he described, all of which would be left in for final passage, also violated Senate Rule 16.

Which tells us at least one thing: the problem wasn't with "legislating" on the bill or violating Senate Rules (which is commonly done). Shooting down the amendment was about preventing a thorough audit of the Federal Reserve for the first time in its history!

Senate leadership is hoping this issue will just fade away so they can get on to what they deem to be more "important" business, like dictating what kind of healthcare plan you and I can carry or passing destructive Cap-and-Tax legislation.

But the American people deserve answers on what the Fed has done with trillions of our tax dollars and what they are committing us and future generations to as part of their secret deals with foreign central banks and governments.

The leadership decided today to turn their backs on transparency, but our fight is just beginning.

As Senator DeMint made clear on the floor, the Audit the Fed bill has wide bipartisan support. He rightly warned the Senate that even if they delay today, they WILL have to deal with the issue on the floor.

It is up to you and me to back up Senator DeMint's words by making sure the momentum continues to build and the bill comes up for a final vote.

The rejection of the Audit amendment is just the first battle in our war. Now is the time to really put the pressure on the U.S. Senate to Audit the Fed!

Senator DeMint fired the opening salvo and showcased the hypocrisy of the Senate for allowing other GAO audits to be included in the bill while refusing to even allow a vote on Fed transparency.

Again, we're just getting started. Senator DeMint will keep fighting to pass Audit the Fed on its own or as an amendment, and we need to continue putting pressure on our senators to do everything in their power to achieve a floor vote!

Click here to sign our online petition. And visit our Audit the Fed action page for contact information to call, write, and fax your senators and urge them to support S 604 and to push for a final vote.

Together, we will finish this fight to Audit the Fed!

In Liberty,
