Now I know why I was thrown off of Huffington Post twice. One of their 'writers' said today on a blog that 911Truthers were the equivalent of the birthers on the Right. this is disgusting. The amount of denial invested in avoiding this issue is unbeleivable especially when one even casually regards the evidence. Huffington is a garbage heap anyway of infotainment and celebrity drivel. I am amazed they allow Max to write on their site.

I live in the Netherlands - the people are beyond pathetic. There's zero political activism, they have these silly commercials on day and night always with some childish tune or another (in fact, most of the programming seems to be targeted at five year olds), and the people all seem to be under the impression they are 'free' and oh so 'intelligent'. In The Netherlands, it's seen as a sign of intelligence to knowtow to the government - you are seen as a 'conspiracy theorist' if you talk of the NSA or the AIVD reading your mail - and even when you get them to admit they do, they shrug it off and say 'So what?' Note that they also seem to have this infatuation with the House Of Orange - they also seem to be under the impression that the stooge that gets (s)elected for Prime MInister, Mr. Balkenende, really runs the government (LOL).

Notice in The Netherlands - the country where you can smoke weed and have sex with prostitutes in the Red Light District - I can't put up a POLITICAL PAMPHLET on a wall without first asking for consent from a government agency. That's how borderline pathetic this country has become - they give you the right to get high, but they take away the really crucial stuff that ought to be a basic right.

The Netherlands is Brave New World 1.0 - version 2.0 is coming soon to an America near you.

It's not so much what he says but why he says it. What is his agenda? He is strongly pro-Israel and I believe that he deliberately sets out to provoke Muslims within the NL & elsewhere in Europe. He is not merely highlighting intolerant aspects of Islam (which I would agree with him on). He is pushing forward this fringe view in Europe that the continent is being swamped & that European values (or similar) are being eroded by the spread of Islam. I fail to see how a tiny minority (5% of NL are Muslims) could ever force their beliefs on to the 80% white, secular/Christian Dutch majority. And even Wilders himself has said that only between 5-15% of Muslims are of the fundamentalist kind. His whole spiel just smacks of picking on a relatively defenceless segment of society & it's easy because yes, Muslims do have a markedly different culture. I say let him spout his rubbish wherever he wants to. He loves being a martyr to his fans.

That freedom of speech line should be read as 'Why are things complicated, I don't care so let this Wilders guy shut up!'. What Wilders is rallying against is the loss of freedom in society due to intolerance motivated by the Koran. Now many left oriented people will object, saying (especially dutch) society is tolerant and we have freedom of religion, but those people don't recognize some of the muslims use that freedom to suppress others (the women mostly) in a way they would themselves never accept. So the rejection of Wilders is a lack of willingness to face/understand/do anything about the threath islam poses to a free society. It is not an intolerant position, it is simply a position that puts the rule of existing law before the dictates of any sacred text. Common law is a product of endless deliberation over centruries on how to create a just society, that can not be replaced by an inert creation of one individual living in 'taliban' times...

the NY Times quote on Geert Wilders summed him up perfectly for me:

"for a man who calls for a ban on the Koran to act as the champion of free speech is a bit rich".

How is it that so many Dutch seem to agree with this creep?

This week, the latest counterinsurgency guidance for the American and international units fighting the Afghan war was released by Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, who commands the International Security Assistance Force.

The seven-page document, as might be expected, contains little new to anyone who has followed the rise of counterinsurgency thinking within the American military after fighting intensified in post-invasion Iraq. The mission, the commander says, is to protect the Afghans. The war will be won not by destroying the enemy, but by persuading the people. The international forces will have succeeded when the government of Afghanistan is supported by the population.

PERSUASION?
Take away the military's guns and it would be persuasion. Coercion involves force.

Yup... must be those neocon nutters up to no good again...

Police said that about 2:20 a.m., 24-year-old Maurice Schwenkler, now in custody, and an at-large accomplice took a hammer to the picture windows displaying posters touting President Barack Obama and his health care reform efforts.

Early Tuesday, Democratic Party chairwoman Pat Waak said the damage to her building in Denver's art district was a consequence of "an effort on the other side to stir up hate." She tempered her statement after Schwenkler's political history was revealed.

Here's a angle that nobody seems to have covered.

Lots of neocon nutcases are getting recruited to disrupt "town hall meetings" with RNC-appoved propaganda. Not wanting to piss off their anti-single-payer-lobby clients, the MSM is more than happy to destroy this (while trying to maintain their "journalistic objectivity."). These idiots get endless amounts of soundbites, which is only making it worse. Then again, there's no Fairness Doctrine anymore. So who's going to stop them?

On the other hand, if somebody protests against torture (which is still going on in the States), what happens?:

They get tasered, beat up by the cops. Arrested and held with no charges for as long as possible. Then, suddenly they're labeled as "potential terrorists." And, they've been under illegal surveillance for who knows how long.

Obama puts a war criminal in charge of troops in Afghanistan. Other war criminals are running around, teaching at U.C. Berkeley. And getting rich on the lecture circuit.

Many "economic advisors" around Obama are responsible for the Global Depression.

And now, pretty soon Max and Staci will be speaking Russian.

What's the world coming too???

Hey Stacy bet a lot of hopefuls on this site are watching the title to the Huffy post hoping it is a Freudian slip. Say it out loud with a southern drawl - faithful to typo. You'll get the picture.

Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum or should that be a big fat scoobie in honor of our next emerging kleptocracy. Once we just pleaded to be left alone in our living room....soon we will be pleading to be left alone in our heads. Got to love a conspiracy to steal the human soul. Thanks for your work.
