I’m surprised to see you embroiling yourself in the issue of the Palestinians. Of course no intelligent person can help but see the injustice that the Palestinians have suffered. But of course speaking up on the subject leaves you open to attacks of antisemitism. Sigh.
This Alazeera video illustrates the plight of the Palestinians in a microcosm. The Israelis have no peaceful intents with regards to Palestinian lands. They are waging an incremental war to eventually occupy all Palestinian lands. The tear gas is a metaphor for the smoke and mirrors with which the Israeli propaganda machine attempts to deceive the world.
The reporter does an excellent job of explaining the current Israeli trickery with regards to supposed settlement freezes. But really she is too nice. The real answer is that this is just another in a long line of Israeli lies and more lies with regards to their true agenda in the Middle East.
And of course this footage will never find its way on the US nightly news, so its as if it never happened.

I don’t see the issue here. The reporter is clearly partisan, so is not entitled to rely on any status of “independent observer”
That is not to say the Israeli police are right to tear gas non-threatening people – but I don’t agree with the notion that it is “worse” to tear-gas a reporter, when that reporter is nothing more than an activist with a microphone
