I'm genuinely relieved summer is over, our family has been living with Demicles sword hanging over our head for the past year. We sold our house in London and I gave up the best job I ever had 2yrs ago to move back to Ireland. The missus was working and I was looking after the kids, real cushy number (plenty of time for sauntering). She found out in July that the Uni she worked for was not going to renew her contract (7,000 people in 3rd level education have lost their jobs in a similar fashion). As you can imagine the arse dropped out of our world, and I was about to resign myself to genteel poverty. That she found a job at all nevermind one that's permanent and with a fuckin' payrise to boot is nigh on miraculous.
