A California bank that received $298.7 million in federal bailout money is facing state and federal scrutiny and has fired its two top executives after an internal investigation discovered that massive real estate loan losses were improperly and deliberately hidden from its finance department and outside auditors.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is looking into troubles at United Commercial Bank of San Francisco, which has branches in Sacramento and Citrus Heights, bank officials confirmed. Other state and federal regulators have restricted the bank’s activities after examiners found the bank engaged in “unsafe and unsound banking practices that jeopardize the safety of its deposits,” state and federal records show.

The cease-and-desist order bars United Commercial from opening new branches or extending further credit to customers with bad loans topping $1 million without its board’s prior approval.

yes, saw that Iran had changed to euros for oil. Is it any coincidence that Obama came out about Iran’s nuclear facility yesterday, giving Iran a timeline. Its sooo obvious! don’t tell me people are going to get duped again by this blatant propaganda!

Maybe the White House figured out it can’t get Iran to turn on Russia. If Iran gets ‘shock and awe’ I fear the Russians and Chinese would get involved. By I think its an empty threat to be honest – Obama appeasing the Israelis again maybe.

…are just two ships in an enormous fleet of tankers which are currently being paid about £80m a month by independent oil traders like Trafigura and Vitol, as well as giants such as Shell, to stay anchored around the globe with anything between 50 and 150 million barrels of redundant crude on board, it seem that the ruthless barons of black gold must be losing money as fast as they can make it….

Just wondering if the oil manipulation will backfire on them.
Assuming that WW demand does NOT pick up over the longer term, they cold have a big problem on their hands.
i.e. being forced to sell it at 30$ instead of 100$ !

Oh, and on the Iran matter: Israel does not have the ability to attack Iran without losing at least half of their projected 90-100 fighter jets required for a “successful” mission. This has been studied and plotted for years, and all the military analysts – outside of the nutjobs in Occupied Palestine – are agreed.

And the US is in no position to attack either – unless they feel like losing their entire 5th fleet to Russian and Chinese Sunburn and Silkworm anti-ship missiles from which there NO defense. The Persian Gulf is basically a shooting gallery for Iran.

Another thing, there are 3,700 Russians working at the Bushir nuclear facility plus family nearby…you all saw how Russia responded when a few of their own citizens were killed by that tie-chewing psychopath in South Ossetia, right? They vaporized Georgia’s military in approximately four hours….

3,700 dead Russian citizens and not to mention massive trade agreements with both Russia and China jeopardized? Escalation is not very hard to imagine…

If Obama is fool enough to get roped into this stupidity by NetanYahoo, or by his own Incompetent generals, then the US empire is dog meat ten years ahead of schedule.
