I notice most economists simply cannot wrap their heads around a non US-centric financial order. I’m no economist but I CAN. It’s time to take this evil greedy genocidal empire down – hopefully without WWIII.
But I doubt the psychopaths in Washington, London, and Tel Aviv can restrain themselves. Perhaps the Chinese and Russians have a plan to prevent them?

Global Warming has a role to play in all this. Through Carbon Tax schemes, wealth will be transfered to emerging economies. This will create the economic infrastructure to build malls to create a consumer society in those countries.
This is needed to replace “the consumer of last resort” in the US. The problem China has is that it needs to dump its output of manufacturing junk somewhere. As the emerging market consumers come up to speed, the US consumers will lose their importance. In synchronization the Dollar’s role will be diminished.

I am not so sure about how bad will be for US this replacement.
But basket of currencies will not be very good too. This mean that in this fiat base system, there will be no one who will be responsible for currency stability with their economy.

I am an anti-war person first and foremost. Israel might want to launch WW III by attacking Iran because America will no longer be of use to them after the dollar dies. If we can get to the end of the year without blowing up Iran, we might avoid WW III. However, it is possible we could have a lot of violence in the US. Americans have been buying 50,000,000 bullets a day for the past year.
I would hope for a peaceful revolution. Most observers I have been following say that the revolution either starts in 2009 or 2010. No way we wait until 2011. As I said, I am a non-violent person and do not advocate a violent rebellion.
I wonder if Americans would choose to cancel Social Security and Medicare if they were told we could no longer watch our soldiers on TV every night killing Muslims.

@ Frank Hope, personally I believe the carbon emissions tax system will be the largest racket in world history. Bigger than World War II or today’s drug war. It will greatly increase the power of bankers because it will make access to credit more important. And yeah, I too expect it will drain wealth from many developed nations both in terms of the tax itself and more importantly, flows of investment capital. Scientific interpretations, accurate or far-fetched, will be capable of making or breaking the economies in entire regions. How the tar sands in Alberta end up assessed being a good example of how the value of huge investments and future money flows could be dramatically affected by an officially accepted opinion.

I think Mr. Keiser discredits his argument by assuming nations will readily sacrifice their massive financial reserves to weaken the US dollar. This assumption isnt practical. I certainly think theres some validity to nations diversifying their reserves with other currencies or commodities, and I think a basket of currencies could be beneficial in some sense. But claiming the dollar will be buried before 2018? Im skeptical…

A reduction in the aggregate value of dollar-denominated debt is deflation, which is now occurring… Eventually the value of credit will contract to a point where it can be sustained by new production. At that point, the U.S. dollar may indeed collapse, as gold soars under the weight of the Fed’s bailout machinations. They have already sacrificed their massive financial reserves for the past few decades to strengthen the dollar . . . maybe they are tired of sacrificing so much?
Max really made my day saying his own sources have confirmed the story. It’s suspicious that so many countries would make a point of denying this, rather than simply ignoring it.
