Stacy Summary: Yowza. This is from Dow Jones Marketwatch. Paul B. Farrell gives 20 reasons that American capitalism has lost its soul, your reasons in the comments, please.
But for Wall Street and American capitalism, use your gut. You know something’s very wrong: A year ago “too-greedy-to-fail” banks were insolvent, in a near-death experience. Now, magically they’re back to business as usual, arrogant, pocketing outrageous bonuses while Main Street sacrifices, and unemployment and foreclosures continue rising as tight credit, inflation, skyrocketing Federal debt killing taxpayers.

No, not just another meltdown, another bear market recession like the one recently triggered by Wall Street’s “too-greedy-to-fail” banks. Faber is warning that the entire system of capitalism will collapse. Get it?
The collapse has already occurred: the government bailouts and lending windows are what has kept America running for the last year. (That is what the dweeb told Max)
fall of the republic – starts tomorrow
http://www.infowars.com/fall-of-the-republic-exposes-how-financial-terrorists-are-imposing-global-enslavement/
Now the process of cleaning up the entrails and the viscera is occurring.
@Stacy: P.Craig Roberts and Robert Fiske, and the former chief economist of the IMF Mr. Johnson, and have all in similar language said that the rich have usurped the economy…AND IT’S ONLY FOR THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Mas: good morning mate….R you advertising for AJ??? and your participation in the documentary??/
@Max
can’t wait!
@Richard@lattitude30N – well, it would, in fact, seem to fit in with the subject of this blog entry . . . surely, @maxkeiser was just keeping on topic and not plugging his own stuff?
The majority of Fall Of The Republic is devoted to an in-depth investigation into how the vultures of global corporatism exploited the engineered financial meltdown to begin the step by step implementation of their economic new world order – a parasitical financial system expertly crafted to benefit the elite few while destroying the living standards of the middle class and sinking the planet into a new dark age.
THAT SOUNDS LIKE CONSPIRACY THEORY TO ME…RUN AND GET SOME TIN FOIL FOR OUR HATS.
@y’all
hey Wall Street…you made some money for a while you worked hard… but that doesn’t mean you had a soul!!!
Criminals “haven’t” hijacked the financial system, it has always been theirs to do with whatever.
What is actually happening is, the media are painting it as though this system is flawed, and needs a replacement.
You know, a more just system where the cattle can be looked after more intensely, ..You know, a more “sustainable” system!!
If you build to quickly or undermine your economic foundations its very easy to tell what may happen but when is very difficult to predict when, try and predict when the music stops. Everything ok until?

Criminals “haven’t” hijacked the financial system, it has always been theirs to do with whatever.
completely true
@Dedo:
Not a replacement as much as no system for most and deluxe villas for the connected.
I dissagree with the author’s point #4, capitalism, as being one of the problems. It is the replacement of it with CRONY-capitalism that is the problem. But this is not a new phenomenon.
Also, America lost its way when it started intervening in foreign affairs for cheap pineapples and bananas. Getting rid of the CIA, used to destabilize countries and governments, would be a good start to return to an America I can be proud of.
Small government at home and abroad is what we need. If we can’t trust government why the heck do we want BIG government?
Ron Paul 2012!
Why does the press cooperate? I can understand the greedy insane traders and bankers, but the press has me stymied. Most of the upper echelon know exactly what is up and to come. Do they hope for preferred treatment?
And Glenn Beck with his jaw-gaped glaze-eyed wonder. As though it has finally dawned on him that the system is rigged.
@Dedo – that’s not quite true; pre-1913 it was far more difficult for a banker to steal money from a large group of people and usually required elaborate ponzi schemes targetting one town or village; post 1913, there were several decades post 1933/34 when there were very good securities laws (like Glass Steagall) that kept elite bankers from rigging the game to steal so much from the average investor; and never before have they had so much power to get the US govt to do their bidding in such a blatant manner that is openly mocking the taxpayer . . .
@bink – “America lost its way when it started intervening in foreign affairs for cheap pineapples and bananas.” Bravo! Well put!
Financial Coup origins from Linda Minor…

These apocalyptic opinions reflect also the sentiments of the Anglo-American political philosophy supported by the same bankers who desired to rid the world of anti-capitalism—any tendencies leading to labor unrest and anarchy—which they equated with Communism. The British Foreign Secretary in 1925, Austen Chamberlain, for example, had commented:
“If I ever had to choose in my own country between anarchy and dictatorship, I expect I should be on the side of the dictator.” {19}
Butler never met with Grayson Murphy, though, upon his insistence that he be introduced to one of MacGuire’s principals in the plot, he was paid a visit from Robert Sterling Clark, a multimillionaire, deprecatingly dubbed “the millionaire lieutenant” during the war. A grandson of Edward Clark, attorney for and partner of Isaac Singer, inventor of the sewing machine, Robert S. Clark was also one of three sons of Alfred Corning Clark, who had served as Singer’s president until his death in 1896. The Clark family involvement in the scheme adds another layer of depth and texture to a tapestry woven by an assortment of banking families who were working behind the scenes in 1934 to wrest control of America’s central bank out of liberal hands and place it within those of an Anglo-American military- fascist elite.
Six years after Alfred Corning Clark died, his widow married the Right Rev. Henry Codman Potter, Episcopal Bishop of New York, who serves to link Clark to an offshoot of the family of Alexander Brown of Baltimore, the oldest merchant banking family in America. The offshoot, Brown Brothers of New York,is the bank with which President George H.W. Bush’s father was a partner after it merged with the investment banks of the sons of robber baron E.H. Harriman in 1926.

@Stacy:
Sorry to jump in. Excuse my rudeness, but pre1913 the bankers had a whole class of citizens, brown, to manipulate like slaves via marginalization and segregation. Oh and the US government basically committed genocide against an entire nation of indigenous people here to home: pre1913.
My reasons mostly have to do with out-of-control corporate power, and foolish politicians who chose to centralize wealth–thus making corporations all the more powerful and politicians even more corrupt. It’s worth repeating that historically, societies become more politically divided as economic inequality widens. When that happens, people look for scapegoats, and the political and criminal class do a very good job of leading us towards the “evildoers” to distract from the rot at the core of our system.
Reagan cutting the top marginal tax rate and waging war on the “welfare queens,” unions, and middle class went a long way towards setting us on this destructive path. Those who benefited from his policies used their power and wealth to keep pushing their agendas until we arrived at a place where Congress became incapable of doing ANYTHING for the greater good.
Back in the good old boys days were just one big Sunday picnic.
They must WANT those Carbon Taxes VERY badly!

On a roll: and pre1913 one could utilize women as property via insemination. Free labor, cheap, and justly made by God’s Good Book.
@Stacy; not complaining…glad to see it actually..I am a AJ listener myself…though my daughter requests I lay off it as his vocal style is rather course for her…and his bombastic levels of volume are hard to appreciate….I find the attack mode that Max propounds is not only right on, but needed as some of us ( myself included ) know the hijack has taken place and the players are circling their wagons…keep up the good work..and yes it is an excellent addition to the comments from Max…glad he is around to comment…
On another topic..it was suggested that with the advent of SDR’s the gold price will plummet…what is your take???

I think this has been planned to usher in global communism. With dwindling resources the elite will act to protect what remains for themselves. The rest of us can go and get screwed.

@Crumpet Muncher – global communism? no way; impossible as it is far easier to control large bodies of people if they believe ‘every man for himself’
1913. What was it about the year 1913 that changed everything for America? Hmmmmm?
THE FEDERAL RESERVE ACT and its debt-based currency gave banksters the power to hijack both the American economy and its military for the benefit of the its owners – the privately owned international banking cartel.
End the Fed (great Christmas gift!)

Ask any flag-waving Glenn-Becker if Jesus was brown. That floors their tank.
The Federal Reserve helped consolidate global elite control, it did not introduce evil to the human race. People functioned nicely under the gold-backed system: grinding men’s bones to erect cities and incorporate innocence under a flag of corruption.
We here in Florida can read all about it:

@Stacyherbert – global communism? no way; impossible as it is far easier to control large bodies of people if they believe ‘every man for himself’.
The Banks, IMF and World Bank have been gutting the economies of the West since Bretton Woods. Incidentally, initially led by a communist. The wealth creating industries have been transferred to the East.
When the West is paralysed, the communist countries will come to the rescue. The Western countries will be glad of the assistance and agree to form a world government with the communists. US Citizen Revulsion will be overcome because of the extent of suffering.
The elite won’t care what ‘ism is used as long as they remain on top.

When you all end the Fed what is to keep the nasties from setting up shop over in Europe and turning off the lights here to home? No one ever gets arrested, tried, and jailed. Bernanke is laughing about your efforts: he is serving his master well. The money we pay for more of this circus tent entertainment could have been used to get a strategic food stockpile going. What are we all going share in the common house?
Doesn’t hunger and deprivation superceed partisan politics? Who is going to lead America to honest money? Ron Paul? He quit when he had the chance.

FNM hits 95 cents a share is this a good time time to buy I’d say yes number one if stock remains below $1.00 to long its delisted from exchange Market Maker won’t let that happen lose to much money on such a heavily traded stock. Number 2 it looks like a new market model is taking place with Freedie and Fannie they will be middle men selling bonds to treasury excepting only 60% of the mortgage risk. Number 3 these companies have the backing of the FEDERAL RESERVE so they can’t lose.

Thanks to you both for contributing to Alex Jones newest movie. Its release signals the end of the era of ‘questioning’ the direction that things have been going since “2001, -a frontal-labotomy.”
Naturally, there was not much coverage and will be no discussion about the French reactionaries who hay-bailed Paris and ignited the Champs Elysses in a display of anger. Meanwhile, the news here is that Christmas shoppers “plan” on spending 3% less this year. ..Yeah sure! Boy, I sure would like to read that questionaire. And Oil, how much do you expect to pay for a litre of gas or a pint of fuel oil by mid-winter??
“America” – LOL!

Pa, I keep ahear’n about 1913. Seems like I reckon it’s perty IMportant. But I can’t right recall learnin bout it at college.

@AdamC:
What Dedo said about Global Communitarianism is right to my mind. The Hegelian dialectic pursues synergy between the antithesis and the thesis (left/right paradigm) through the way of common ground: sythesis. Communitarian principals look for the common ground as a way of creating change: change is always. The synthesis is not a static entity, but the rational must be called into being by the state apparatus. Anything is real if it is rational according to the state.
The makings of true totalitarian hell on earth.
genocide… sure… but ‘america’ didn’t care where the slaves came from… and britain would have been happy to provide you with more white slaves if we’d had to!
Yes. Lots of white women to make the white bread to put on that their white tablecloth!
I’m going to take a stab in the dark here regarding this pre 1913 thing goin’ on.
I’ve never lived in that period, but I’m here now. I know that the medias purpose is to alter the perceptions of the masses.
Using that logic, I’d have a guess,..and surmise that most of his-story is somewhat tainted.
Any takers !!
I hitched a ride back on a Higgs boson (although in the future we call it affectionately a Stacy boson) and I’m telling you world communism cometh. What shall we wager?
stacy will be happy xD
When did we ever have Capitalism?….it has always been Capitol-ism. There is NO self-ownership. The STATE is the article of INCOPORATION….no one is a “citizen”….ALL are incorporees.
No realities are being disturbed…just MYTHS.(moving on to the next set; no doubt.)
One should NOT march on Washington….one should March away from Washington.
It’s the STATE, STUPID!!
PS// the Floundering Fathers were all WHIGS….Whigs have always been the TORY’S Toadies…..those fakirs just USURPED & REPLACED the LOYALISTS….merely; a title transfer….like all the other bourgeois rebellions…..the English Civil Wars, the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution….look at Vietnam & China toady.
Sure…you been HAD…but that’s what you are for….after all; you’re biggest ambition is to be a Toady too, someday. C’mon Proles…get REAL.
Might I at this poin make a snooty remark saying that everything that will keep the US boat afloat will be good, cause time is arr gion’ to be rough soon?
Clicking on the center of your latest ‘OnTheEdge’ always takes me to PirateMyFilm. Interestingly, all of these pictures could be funded by a mere 1% tax on a single Bear Stearns employee’s Christmas bonus check.
Not surprisingly, Max picked up on my infowars blog- line: “Alex Jones, the most trusted man in US Journalism.”
Alex has decidedly ‘mellowed his presentation’ approach, and consequently has attracted more great participants like yourselves to his cause. Note how important and pivotal a line it is in that first trailer for ‘FALL,’ where the TV narrator says: “Damn, these conspiracy nuts are right !!” [emphasis mine]
@y’all
not really wanting to dig up too much the recent past but I see britain and america… like that polanski… story dirty old european man taking advantage and corrupting a already messed up young…well I’m sure you get the picture!!!
The article fails to identify the most damaging element of western capitalism, namely interest (and its most unjust form – fractional reserve banking), preferring to lay the blame on “greed”. The fact is that compounded debt becomes exponentially unsustainable after a fixed number of years (depending on the interest rate) regardless of the “morals” of the capitalists, resulting in a collapse. In each of these collapses there are only two possibilities, either maintain the value of the currency and allow the asset prices to fall (penalizing the borrowers/money lenders and rewarding the savers) or inflating the currencies and maintaining the asset prices (rewarding the money lenders and punishing the savers). Depending on who has political power at the time different governments pursue one of the two tacts. Either case results in a civil war (perhaps bloodless) of some sort or a revolution as one part of society is pitted against the other. The Weimar republic tried inflation leading to the rise of Hitler, initial US government actions in the 1930s let asset prices fall leading to the great depression (maybe this is why a lot of people would rather try inflation this time around – maybe there is a Hitler in America’s near future?). The post world war II relative peace (for the western world) has led to an unprecedented (in modern western history) economic expansion leading to a truly horrendous debt overhang which previously would have been zeroed out at a more manageable level. The only possible outcome is a severe depression (much worse than the “great depression”) or a severe inflation, neither of which have occurred so far. They have put it off by artificially inflating asset prices. Since the debt is exponential, putting it off makes it worse and you have an even shorter time before the next collapse, probably two years at most – 2012.
The system has been rotten since the introduction of fractional reserve banking, and made much worse with the creation of the federal reserve which was set up precisely to “socialize” debt losses through debasement of the currency.
Most people are unaware that there are other non-interest based capital systems (look up Silvio Gessel, Islamic Finance Jak Bank, etc.) It is possible to have a currency without inflation – the hidden tithe to the Church of Banking.

the Hegelian Dialectic….cross a lion with a panther…and you’ll get a leopard…..some people will believe in anything…they love fairy dust.
@jim,……first sensible thing you’ve said since,…..hmmm, well ,first sensible thing you’ve said!! : (
Dedo…please keep your compliments to yourself….they are better received there.
Sorry Jimmy,…won’t do it again, whoops!!
I don’t seem to be winning many friends today, do I !!
@Dedo:
Tainted is an interesting term. It implies the substance is metaphysically inclined. That’s not like you, Dedo. You’re slipping here. Do you assert that the story was ever really static and true? Or is your assertion that the story is always only ever just entertaining and useful to the storyteller’s aims?
The stabbing at substance to find shared truth is a ritual sacrifice which I would deem useless at this point.
(arguing is fun though)
On second thoughts, that diagram might help people understand how their aspirations aren’t being served by this left/right nonsense, so maybe not such a *sigh* moment at all. Hopefully it’ll spread.
It’s good to see Dick Morris waking up in the Fall of The Republic trailer.
To tell y’all the truth, no one cares about our vote, our opinion, or our place. The elite who have utilized America through myth and margin are now set to dominate the world without regards to the loss of life: relishing in that loss for gain.
We got to have compassion and do what Jim says and walk away from the corrupting machine.
The eyes of people will resemble marbles before this is all through.

Don’t you?
@Frances,…..entertaining, bit like that fairy story huh!
I hitched a ride back on a Higgs boson (although in the future we call it affectionately a Stacy boson) and I’m telling you world communism cometh. What shall we wager?

@Crumpet Muncher – that’s so exciting; so do they rename it to a ‘Stacy Boson” during my lifetime? Or is this a posthumous thing? If so, then thanks for telling me in this lifetime.
@Dedo:
No. More like Halloween spooky tales.
@frances snoot: “Stella”?????????? should I know her??? I’ve been either reading or posting here for some time and the name doesn’t ring a bell..
Sure…you been HAD…but that’s what you are for….after all; you’re biggest ambition is to be a Toady too, someday. C’mon Proles…get REAL.
Not me. I want to be a mermaid.
Lots of interesting comment. Hard to disagree with much of it. Like Ahmad, for example, touching on the evil of “growth” and interest instead of sustainability. One of my fav subjects.
However, all of this is just symtomatic of the true reason America has lost it’s soul, if it ever had one. The answer is that big brother will always tell little brother what to do. “Interest” is a tool big brother uses, so is fractional reserve banking. If they didn’t exist, big brother would have found a different stick to beat his little brother with.
That doesn’t mean there is a conspiracy either, it just means that the thugs are in charge and can exploit the events to their own ends. In this I support what Alister said weeks ago – that you don’t need a conspiracy to understand this, and too much foil hat talk is tedious.
But we’ve got very close to nailing it. Dedo hinted at the answer, in keeping the “cattle” intensely and sustainably while the thugs do as they will….. Others have expanded on this since. I agree, the elite can use the resources as they will, while the proles starve in the cold, or better still die off. As I have said before, I need my own eco-ark.

We just set the wheels in motion by discussing it. It’s not as exciting as conversing, even if only electronically, with the legend that is Stacy. Your spirit will live forever (Max too).
Farell has actually been very outspoken before in his criticism of Wall Street at times sounding like Max and calling them criminals. Here’s an example.
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/even-jack-bauer-couldnt-stop
“Drama? You bet. Six short months ago Hank led an assault on Congress. The scene parallels one in “24:” Sangala War Lord Juma’s brazen attack inside the White House. But no AK-47s necessary. The Hammer assaulted Congress with just a two-and-a-half page memo in hand. Like a crack special-ops warrior, he took down the enemy, demanding $750 billion, absolute control, total secrecy, no accountability and emergency powers to act immediately … warning that inaction was not an option, that collapse of America’s banking system was imminent, would bring down the global monetary system, pushing world’s economies into a “Great Depression II.” Congress surrendered.”
@ frances snot: easy now…calm down…and yes that was snot not snoot…
Does capitalism have a soul? Did it ever?
It’s just the ultimate global pyramid scheme that has finally collapsed. And now we say it’s lost its soul. No. Throughout the last two centuries, it expanded all around the globe even to the most remote Amazonian village and with no more fodder to feed into its ever expanding base it has come crashing down like the World Trade Center towers.
But like a satanic Phoenix it will attempt to arise again from the ashes of the ruined lives of people all around the globe. Now is the time to chain it like Prometheus to eternal punishment, so that it can never again pillage and plunder the hapless souls of its innocent victims.

American Capitalism had a soul?
Everything out of the MarketWatch website seems to carry a certain taint. Limited Hangouts, gross over-generalizations without any explanation, leaps of logic, and the good old misplacement of cause and effect. And catch-phrases from the establishment used over and over again.
I just saw a full blown sociopath interview Jerry Brown on CNBullmanure, one Michelle Caruso Whatever,- the one with the enormous fake silicon nose cones. If you ever want to see how the fish is rotting from the head down in the pockets of influence in this souless land, have a look at this she-devil. They actually put this arrogant,greedy little whore on camera daily as a representation of the ‘wealth’ side of the equation. A sneering,ignorant,loud-mouthed,amoral troll who thinks all of this is just a game of one side versus another, the rich taking what they deserve to steal and then mocking everyone else.
May she be wed to Gimli the Dwarf and may he chain her to a damp wall inside the Mines of Moria and far from the light of day.
A little late but right on target. It’s crazy but most americans don’t even see it coming. Scary too.
I enjoyed this article, but I do not think that we have ever experienced what is called free market capitalism. The capitalism that the usa was attempting to create would have been successful if it were not for the Intl bankers hijacking the FED in 1913. It seems from what i have read and researched in the last six months the usa embarked on animal farm capitalism from this point on as certain groups were given special privelages which gave them absolute confidence to embark on what otherwise would have been potential financial suicide missions. Since these special groups have so much power and access to endless pots of money they have staged attack after attack on the shared wealth of the us aided and abbeted using the so called independent fed? The pigs in the farm house have everything, but still they want more. This system needs to die and be replaced with a truly free market system. There must be many ways to achieve this once special groups are identified and then systematically stripped of the waelth they have obtained through trickery and deceipt……….
