  7. Max Keiser’s Grand Unified Theory: brilliant.

  8. @y’all
2 mins… into the show, already I’m glad I’ve been drinking since noon … man this week sounds like it’s gonna be fun!!!

  9. Regarding Max’ theory, assuming that this would be the case, why wouldn’t that apply to Lehman Brothers?
I mean they asked for a bailout that they didn’t get, they could have made something up to stay in business….

  10. @coyne

    I’m asking the same question…
Actually, I’ve asked that question several times in the past, but no concrete reply has ever been given…

I suspect that M&S haven’t figured out how to collect the payment yet…
    :D

  11. You don’t understand why ‘inequality is good’ because you haven’t read Margaret Thatcher’s favourite book: “The Constitution of Liberty” by Friedrich Hayek.

According to Wikipedia: The Constitution of Liberty has notably been held up at a British Conservative Party policy meeting and banged on the table by Margaret Thatcher, who reportedly interrupted a presentation to indicate, in reference to the book, that “This is what we believe”.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Constitution_of_Liberty

In his book Hayek explains how inequality leads to prosperity of the majority in a free society.

I’m not sure however if Hayek would be happy with the way inequality has been created today. As an Austrian economist he’d prabably be saying: Let those banksters go bancrupt! Don’t give this thieves any money!!! Also he wouldn’t consider today’s society free anymore.

Read the book, it’s worth your time and money and it’s a classic: The Constitution of Liberty by Friedrich Hayek. And you will know where this bankster and former Thatcher’s aide got this idea that inequality is good.

    …my english is poor, I know…

  12. Mike/Liverpool

Ok Max, we move on from “TOB”, but for the record both in radio & TV shows you pro-dick-ed an “Iceland type event”…………

So, do you think we have a crash in the stock markets or (as i think) they just keep pumping in $ &$ to keep it inflated?
    Mike

  13. @digitallife … “The Constitution of Liberty” by Friedrich Hayek.

Your English is very good ..where do you come from ?

BTW … Yes, vH would be rolling in his grave right now .. he didn’t expect his words to be so obviously abused .. by blatant stealing !

  14. Has anybody ever heard about medicine to treat utter disgust? My entrails excreted a cease and desist letter in my toilet today, but my mind can’t avoid reconstructing the gagreflex inducing reality. My skin hurts from the lack of humanity displayed by so many individuals..

  17. Max…you are opening…that is maturing….that is ripening. Your comments about the effects of WAR….are warming to the HONEY POT…please enjoy Bruce Porter’s(Harvard)… “War & the Rise of the STATE”, 1994…not to mention Bourne & Hawthorne.

Max…I noticed your instinctive demand for “plainess”.during the interview..that is to say “lucidity” with that French imitation of an “idea”….SORRY, Max ,…you are still an American….kudos to your family & friends….even to Larchmont. Language must reveal the clarity of reality…..Europe’s main culpability is… it’s allegiance to obscurity & “opaqueness”….and the accruing benefits thereof.

Max, marry & breed that girl quickly….the rear of your head is beginning to resemble the back of a baboon’s ass.

    In regards to the post:
The way I see it, when a person keeps a monster and nurtures it, feeds it, sacrifices their young to its voracity, and lets the monster roam other neighborhoods at will killing, raping, and pillaging, then when the beast returns sings songs to it’s majestic strength and wave flags…well, shouldn’t complain when the monster says

    HEY, YOU LOOK LIKE LUNCH.

    just my take on it

  24. Stop thinking Citizen…. the Norman Yoke for Slave…and start thinking PERSON…..God given self Ownership…now that’s PROPRIETARY.

  26. Concerning those investors that knew Madoff was cheating and that’s why they backed him:
The three card monty guys on 5th Ave. have a really cool move. One of the shills bends the corner of a card when the dealer isn’t looking; of course everyone in the audience sees it. The shill then goes on to take the dealers money a few times – maybe even an onlooker will jump in and win a couple. But the dealer’s waiting for the mother load. He wants the greediest guy to put the most money down. The dealer might even play with him and say, “Man, you don’t want to lose that much – you might have a family to support, etc.” The guy will tell the dealer, “Don’t worry. I’m good, I’m good.” Anyway, when the dealer turns over the card – somehow, the bent card isn’t what it used to be. He pulled a double switch. It’s briliant. Man, I’ll never do that again.

  27. Re: TAM 10/24
Today’s program was one solid hour of high quality information and insight. It is also clear that Max could present things at an even much higher level.

Therein lies the problem: if he dials up the sophistication he could lose a significant portion of his current – mostly lay – audience. But if he dumbs it down, ‘professionals’ will turn him off.

In Marketing, the first step – before any discussion of product – is to choose and define the ‘target market’ to be pursued. By definition, this will be a subset of the total market, as very few products are able to span market segments. (A BMW has a distinctly different target market than a Chevrolet.)

I sense a certain frustration in his voice in today’s program. It could be because his enormous talent is, in a sense, being squandered.

In any marketing endeavour, it takes guts to commit, to cater to one’s chosen subset market, knowing that, in so doing, a large number of people will be discarded.

However, Porsche, Chivas, Rolex and the like are very profitable brands, despite their relatively small number of customers.

Max is a Porsche, and we should enjoy hearing him now for free, because eventually he will be addressing an audience who will be more than willing to pay to hear his insights.

  28. true beauty LOVES its Flaws….that is the Divine Gift…..remember the Good Thief(certainly not Rubin)….he be the Bad Thief.

  29. Max may be a Porsche…whatever that is??…but, certainly a Porsche isn’t Max…Market Reality & let all the little, adoring Porsches take care of themselves.

Naturalism; in any form…is Disgusting & Insulting. That’s why the Greeks & the British never disappoint….now, those heirs of Daniel Boone have become similarly DEFORMED & DISORDERED….same yap, same trap.

  35. @jim,…wow!, I’m enamored by your insight on the virtues of being human.
Where did you learn these revelations,..
I’m grateful you find the time to explain in layman’s terms, so us common folk can comprehend,…fanks!

China to use ASEAN meet to make Yuan an international currency

“BEIJING: China is set to use the ASEAN meet to sell the idea of making the Yuan an international currency. It is using the sense of uncertainty over the US dollar to sell a new dream of enlarged regional trade, financial support from Beijing and reduced dependence on the volatile dollar.

China has also offered to contribute nearly one-third of the $120 billion economic stimulus package being worked out by ASEAN with the stated purpose of helping member-nations reduce their dependence on the International Monetary Fund. Japan offered to cough up a similar amount so that its influence in the region is not diminished. ”

  79. the next time the yankee-dog steams to europe it will NOT be to save their Cromwellian Bankers…..Delenda est Norman (to Illya; the Rus, included).Normans plundering Rome via paris: Normans plundering Constantinople via Kiev…..there’s the Entente….Napolean understood it well.

  80. Bravo, couldn’t have said it better no matter how hard I tried.

    Exsisto felicis.

  81. India and China get rich buy using the manufacturing base they have created supplying the west with cheap goods to provide their own population with those goods. They do this buy letting their currencies re-value against the dollar and sterling. Increasing the purchasing power of their people, and lowering ours.

Also, their consumers are at the emerging end of a large middle class, where as here and the states the middle class is shrinking. the difference in purchasing habits is that they’re learning to spend like richer people, we’re going to have to learn how to live like poorer people. the slower it takes us to learn the more the change is going to hurt.

if decoupling doesn’t happen, then the only other choice is all out grab for resources and assets. i.e. war!

  82. The Grand Unified Theory of Inflation and Deflation would make a popular YouTube video. Maybe an Over The Edge episode focused just on that.

  83. @sam

Yep, Lightyear= the distance which light travels in one year

  84. Yet Youri; without the Light…how would you measure the Year???…please see Godel…or Heisenberg.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JI-Ay0B7MKs

    Hmm.

  87. @jim

Well you just lit a match and watch on your atomic clock. But there are issues indeed cause this distance presumes constant time & lightspeed.

Funny thing from the Star Trek series and mov is that they travel at lightspeed while in fact lightspeed is not enough to travel the Universe. The “Beam me up Scotty” is much mor efficient but they only use it to travel short distances to a near Enteprise ship planet. It’s like using your Ferrari to visit your neigbour and take the bike to go to Timboektoe. Funny if you think about it.

  88. Youri…the point is; the Universe is not enough…only Purpose is ENOUGH.

  89. Max and Stacy

A token of apprectiation for you guys. It’s not relevant but it will make you smile: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnoD3NUux3M

    Loved the show as usual.

  90. since Pythagoras, man has chosen to mystify matter and de-mystify spirit….the Cosmos is fascinating & correct; but, nevertheless, inadequate…unsatisfying. Only the Divine Mystery is Sacred…that is to say REAL….the rest is a short-shifted forgery….therefore Profane. This Mystery exists independently of our agency…….it’s maddening….that’s why we act the way we do.

  91. Speaking of money,
how about a quote from Tom Robbins…

“During periods of so-called economic depression, societies
suffer for want of all manner of essential goods, yet investigation almost invariably discloses that there are plenty of goods available. Plenty of coal in the ground, corn in the fields, wool on the sheep. What is missing is not materials but an abstract unit of measurement called ‘money.’
It is akin to a starving woman with a sweet tooth lamenting that she can’t bake a cake because she doesn’t have any ounces. She has butter, flour, eggs, milk, and sugar, she just doesn’t have any ounces, any pinches, any pints.”

    BRING ON THE TECHNOCRATIC REVOLUTION!!!!
Where VALUE is measured by its function,
not by an arbitrary, nominal factor of fiat currency…

  92. Here is the real MYSTERY:
George W. Bush set to become motivational speaker
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article6887866.ece

. . . “appearance of Mr Bush at a seminar about, among other things, “How to Master the Art of Effective Leadership” . . . “

  93. @GB – What is missing is not materials but an abstract unit of measurement called ‘money.’

Isn’t money simply a trusted and efficient medium of exchange. How is it possible to have an advanced economy without “money”.

Even if a Technocratic system measured value by function, a system of record keeping would be required. The records themselves would be “money”. Like a deposit note for gold way back when . . . ?

  94. @Mike/Liverpool

In india, there is a tradition to buy gold as a way of storing wealth. Even the poorest of the poor buy gold to save for a rainy day. No wonder India is the biggest Net importer of gold.

  95. @DAN II

Oh sure, TECHNOCRACY has provided a system of “credits”, to help those in transition that can’t seem to exist without some nominal measurement of transaction…

    However, they are purely superfluous…
And over the course of a few generations, that concept can be eliminated entirely…

Granted, it will never come to pass without a great socio-philosophical change that sees the value of one having a functional role in the social order…
A desire to be a part of the creation… an understanding that one can do certain things that others cannot…
For instance, I have seemingly great skill at fabrication and welding… and would gladly put in 4 hours a day, 3 days a week to offer my services for the functional benefit of the system, so long as my basic needs are all met…
(And I would still have several months off per year to do as I wish)
It is that type of thinking that one must adopt under a Technocracy…

Greed and the desire of POWER over others is the underlying illness that prevents this ideal from ever having an opportunity to exist…

The irony is that many of the oligarchs dream of technocracy themselves, yet I suspect their perception of it is skewed from the principles that it entails…
At least according to those critics that see it as a wicked system of slavery or population reduction…

However, those we perceive as RICH and POOR would,
in the end, be one and the same…

I can do nothing though, but howl in the wilderness at humanity’s anachronistic worship of money…
it is time for a new god…

In the meantime, I’ll just keep playing the game…
for that is all that it is…

  96. Max and Stacy,

I am just a son of a millworker from New Hampshire, and I don’t really have much do add to this conversation, but I just want to thank you guys. I know that part of what you do is for the purpose of activism and trying to make the world a better place for people like me and for that you have my gratitude. You two are true heroes.

  97. Addendum RE: Technocracy

The actual unit of measurement is ENERGY…

What amount of energy is required to produce something…

I guess that is the underlying currency that is used, hence the credits…
but again, over a few generations, energy would become a non-issue…
Electricity via 4th generation nuclear reactors would be plentiful…
Nevermind solar, wind, tidal and geo-thermal…

oh, and there’d still be some oil so women could put on war-paint, and we could have tupperware to cook our leftovers in…

  98. @GB

    Oh . . . utopia. Sweet, I’m with you then ;)

If human nature were not human nature, the system you propose might be possible. Is this what you are after?

The Fisherman and the Wall Street Executive

An American businessman was visiting a small coastal Panamanian village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the boat were several large yellow fin tuna.
The American complimented the fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took to catch them. The fisherman replied, “only a little while.”
The American then asked why he didn’t stay out longer and catch more fish. The fisherman said he had enough to support his family’s immediate needs.
The American then asked, “but what do you do with the rest of your time?”
The Fisherman said, “I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos. I have a full and busy life, senor.
The American scoffed, “ I am a Wall Street executive and I can help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds buy a bigger boat and a get a Web presence. A scalable go-forward plan would provide capital for several new boats. Eventually, you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman, you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing, and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Panama City, then Los Angeles, and eventually New York City, where you would outsource tasks to third party clients to help run your expanding enterprise in a vertical market.”
The Fisherman asked, “but senor, how long will this all take?”
The American replied, “15 to 20 years.”
“But what then, senor?”, said the Fisherman
The American laughed and said, “ That’s the best part. When the time is right, you will announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich. You will make millions.”
“Millions, senor? Then what?” , replied the Fisherman.
And the American responded: Well, then you will retire, move to a small coastal fishing village where you can sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, and stroll to the village in the evenings where you will sip wine and play guitar with your amigos”.
The Moral of the Story – Before counting someone else’s catch – look inside your own boat and count the fish. You may have caught riches beyond your wildest dreams but simply haven’t taken the time enjoy them yet.

Yes, it is a Technological Utopia…
it is conceivable, but as you have stated, human nature will indubitably prevent its manifestation…

However, what harm is there in me promulgating its principles?

BTW, I like that story… I’ve heard it several times before (on this forum as well…)
It sums up the stupidity that governs our financial hegemony…

We have the ability to assuage all requirements of life on Earth, but we have too many idiots (like that pencil-neck twat who faced-off against Max) that want to permeate a complex system of governance instead…

Bah, fuck it… I’m gonna crack another beer, and dream that I was living in NEW YORK so I could go down to 85 Broad Street and pump Blankfein with a load of 000 Buckshot (and save the american economy a few billion in Bonuses)

    Cheers…

  100. @GB

No harm at all by dreaming of a better way of life. Who knows, it is usually during cataclysmic upheavals that the paradigms shift. We may be entering into to such a time . . . lets hope the paradigms of tomorrow will benefit all and not a select few.

  101. Nite all, sweet dreams

  102. Max, your unified field theory of inflation and deflation based on financial antimatter is creative and convincing. I am grateful to be able to tune in to your brilliance.

  103. Youri:
Tell me I didn’t read this:
As a practical matter, officials said, the waiver could allow a hospital to set up a make-shift satellite facility for swine flu patients in a local armory or other suitably spacious location, or at another hospital, to segregate such cases for treatment. Under federal law, if the patients are sent off site without a waiver, the hospital could be refused reimbursement for care as a sanction.

    local armory? eeeeeek!

  107. Financial Anti-Matter.

Very good. Thanks for putting into words what I’ve been feeling. It’s why I joined U.N.C.L.E. in the first place: to kill off the Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity.

  108. Oh and thanks for vindicating my argument yesterday to pump your credit cards and walk away from the debt. I’m gonna do it again. The hell with them all.

  109. @frances snoot

This will cause more victims of Guillain-Barre Syndrome with amateurs injecting cause the vaccin has to be shaken very well before injecting. If not, somebody is bound to get the full mercury (thimerosal) or dangerous squalene dose.

    @Giuseppe Bagofshit

Nuclear waist still is a big problem but yourright about wind energy, that’s a dead end. But we have huge amounds of coal around the world to burn and nobody talks about how clean they can burn nowadays but the best is sun energy which is plentyfull and everywhere plus zero emmision. They talk a lot about the environment but do little to promote and help giving solar technology an extra boost.

I don’t believe in the oil peak theories think it’s another scam. Saying that oil production peaked in the sixties also because since than many new technologies have been developed to find more oil and to drill under more dificult circumstances and they have found a lot of new oil but partly kept secret by the Americans.

I think it’s all a bunch of propaganda cause if the oil would be used up tomorrow the day after we drive electric be digging coal again or maybe even have high tech performing solar cells. The problem is that they want you to be dependent on oil and at the same time empty your pockets cause you should feel quilty for driving a car on gasoline. It’s all a lot of balony people are ingenious enough to come up with alternatives if the time is there.

In fact the Arabs admitted to lower the price of oil evcery 5 year or so to wipe out any alternative energy research to you keep depended on them.

  110. President Obama declares national emergency over swine flu pandemic, but why? According to the CDC, swine flu infections have already peaked, and the pandemic is on its way out. http://tinyurl.com/ylp2t28

  113. Thanks for another interesting show S & M.

I don’t agree about the ‘fuck them before the fuck you’ way of life.

We all hate the way these big banks are behaving but I don’t agree that beating them at their own game is the way to go, Just my opinion.

As Jim says, “just walk away”. Otherwise you will be being just another one of them, and then you will hate yourself, and will be really missing the point.

It is your life and by copying evil you are destroying yourself instead of the banks. Rising above this crap is the only way forward.

Friend, your credit card payments will make no dent and represent neither good nor evil. Do what you need to do to maintain yourself and if you don’t know what that is then judt do whatever you feel like doing. Who gives a damn anymore.?

  124. “Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last banker.”

  125. Madoff’s new friends: mob boss and a spy

Disgraced financier Bernard Madoff shares his prison cell with a drug offender and eats pizza cooked by a child molester.

Lawyer Joseph Cotchett, who represents about a dozen victims of Madoff’s massive investment Ponzi scheme, interviewed him at a North Carolina prison and found Madoff “hangs around” with Colombo crime family boss Carmine Persico and convicted spy Jonathan Pollard after swapping his Manhattan penthouse for the lower bunk in a shared cell.

Mr Cotchett interviewed Madoff as part of an ongoing legal action against the fraudster’s associates. He has filed legal papers which paint a lurid picture of Madoff’s former life and work in an office so rife with cocaine use it was known as “the North Pole”.

Birds of a feather and so on.

  126. @Dan II, Giuseppe, Technocracy, Inc. advocates applying energy accounting on a macroeconomic level. Existing currencies would be replaced by energy credits backed by ergs. So far so good, but

  127. giving expiation dates to the energy credits would make saving impossible.

  128. @Bonn
    Re: Discovery Channel shows.

    Hahahhahaha
    That is funny.

  129. frances snoot

    @Youri:
Yes. And SoldierBoys and will be ‘helping out’. We know how well our military does in ‘helping’ people decide what is the ‘right’ thing to do.

  130. frances snoot

    @MiniUS:
I agree. After all, the system is rigged. The connected bankers are all the leaders now. Who’s to say the rules won’t change. The less contact with their system, the better. There were voices saying people should stop paying their mortgages last year. Well, Unfortunately, those voices aren’t protecting people from eviction now.

  131. frances snoot

Disgraced financier Bernard Madoff shares his prison cell with a drug offender and eats pizza cooked by a child molester.

    Illya:
Do you really believe Madoff is serving time in prison?

  132. frances snoot

Oh and thanks for vindicating my argument yesterday to pump your credit cards and walk away from the debt. I’m gonna do it again. The hell with them all.

After running up 160K in credit charges and walking away, how do you still have any credit at all, Illya? And how do you know that the system won’t punish those with poor credit scores? Giving advice like that to others, one would wonder how it worked out for you?

It’s one thing to walk away when the bank is raising your rate on a fair contract with a good credit score, it’s another thing to default on a contract just because one hates a nebulous entity.

Whatever we do, we can be assured that Robert Rubin will rise above our efforts, good or ill, like oil separates from water and sifts up.

  133. Doomandbloom thanks for the link.

Max, you came across very well in this film, keep up the great work.

  134. It was 10 years ago frances.

  135. frances snoot

So you can rack up 160.000 in CANADA and not pay? Amazing.

    Did you declare bankruptcy?

And don’t you remember I wrote about the antimatter weeks ago, Illya? Here as a matter of fact.

But at least Max and Stacey allow free discourse. Naked Capitalism doesn’t, and that Yves lady treats her readers to free therapy sessions.

  136. frances snoot

I was told by Yves I was projecting. Then refused access to comments. Nice, huh?

  137. frances snoot

But that’s the way the world works. It’s all about position. One could have talent, but ethics get in the way of advancement. And the slimy moles are the ones running the river rafts.

  138. @Ilya,.sorry bud, but these guys just asked me where you live!!

  139. Hey peeps. I’ve been out of state and unable to post (can’t comment using an iPhone). Have to say that I loved Max’s idea of bombing GS!!

@ Max and Stacy – No worried about being arrested for using such rhetoric. Congress repealed the Sedition Act in 1920! ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedition_Act_of_1918 ) Sounds like it was mostly used to stifle dissent, so we should all be glad that it’s gone.

  140. M&S,

Love all the astronomy & physics reference in this week’s show!

@Max, regarding your new GUTID (Grand Unified Theory of Inflation/Deflation), I think you mean to refer to DARK MATTER, instead of anti-matter. The analogy with Dark Matter and the quadrillion dollar off-book shadow banking system is a very good one:

Dark Matter is larger by far in total mass than the visible matter we see, just as the Dark Derivative system is far larger than the real GDP economy we can see.

A slight perturbation of dark matter could create or destroy a whole visible galaxy, just as a quick burst from the derivative system could smash the real economy.

  141. I can garuntee u Madoff is’nt in Jail hes probably in Brazil thats where Hitler too went. Cummon People what would u do if u had 50 Billion dollars u’d find 5 doubles heck i would spend 1 billon dollars on finding a double.Life is prity simple just put yourself in his shoes what would be your exit stratergy if u got caught. And PMSL what is a 150 year sentance ? does that make sense HUH ?
why not execution ? Can i go and really see if hes in Jail ??? i am sure 100% i wont be able to ! ROFL Saddam Hussien hanged with a bag over his head .ROFL PMSL it just Reminds me of Mind Freak Chris Angel and David Blaine Why a Bag over Saddams Head ??? u think that it will disturb my sleep when they show Pictures of mutilated people in wars open no that wont disturb me but a guy getting hanged will ROFL Gaza palistine conflict where i see childeren limbs blown up thats ok to show. I would have a ruling any scam above 100 million dollars Direct Exceqution if found Guilty PMSL 150 years sentence to a 65 plus year old guy People are really Senile

  142. and i can garuntee u all involved with indicting Madoff all of em will quit or have already quit theier jobs in the next 3 years 90% of the public thinks a Billion Dollars is 100 Million Dollars n i gather anyone can retire with 5 million dollars provided u aint the Senile guy who wants to buy a yatch seeing that renting one is easier

  143. suppose their are 200 people i gotta pay off 200 X 20 million $ = 4000 million dollars or 4 billion $ i still got 46 billion ROFL PMSL

  144. Hi Max. I’ve been following your stories for over a year now and find them very informative and entertaing. While I’m not too optimistic about the future of humanity, you seem to be a total pessimist in this show…. I’m 34, some 15 years younger than yourself, but I don’t see humans being wiped out in my lifetime, but rather over the course of 100-200 years… I’m guessing the future will be a similar senario to the post apocolyptic times of the movie “Mad Max”. Cheers, Will.

  145. larrymagicpony

    thanks for the show

  146. Where’s TAM NZ this week? Did you sacked because of your sheep shagger remarks? LOL
