Limitless, permanent bailouts

Stacy Summary:    Codifying neo-feudalism.  Have you selected for which Lord you will toil?  Or do you have other plans?

Section 1204 is unlimited in dollar amount and is a permanent grant of power to the executive branch. TARP contained some limits on executive compensation and an array of special oversight authorities. Section 1204 contains absolutely no limits on executive compensation and no special oversight.

  1. I have a feeling people will soon stop to give a fuck about paying taxes… fees and anything else that goes to corporate governments..

  2. How about zilch?

If I was in New York I’d make some bricks fly.

  3. Came across this old footage whilst reading about the old French King and three things, came to mind.

    1. World events repeat, as its a fractal universe.
    2. Listen to the commentator and how the reporter tries to conduct your thoughts on how to think which such determination. The foreign nature of the past stile of his commentary helps you look through his fog.
    3. Event changes are sudden that can encompass huge change.

  4. These people will not stop. They are psychotic. All moral and rational thought seems to have been diminished under a weight of allocated power, greed and self-delusion.

How to you stop a violent, rageous drunk? Not rationally, so you kick him in the nuts or jump out from behind the curtains and hit him with the candle stick.

Whatever form, mass peaceful protest or violence against tyranny ( a constitutional right) a ‘counter-coup-d’etat’ is so obviously needed and justified according to the American constitution. but we’ll see…

On a side, anyone notice how soon Christmas stock has reached the shelves this year? Last week Mark & Spencers in Cork tranformed their whole top floor dedicated to “the birth of Christ”. With the problems of CIT (I understand they give out loans for retailers and are especially vital to Christmas markets) I thought there might a be a lull of deliveries this year, or at least a slow down in distribution. Also, the Baltic dry index is being hammered. When (or if) the first items or Christmas stocks sells (if it sells) I wonder will they’ll be more on the way?

Retailers seem to be banking on ‘a good Christmas’ this year. I doubt it, don’t you? I’m the bad results of Christmas sales will somehow be used as leverage in the banks as they beg governments (predominately American Congress) for more bailouts in February/March.

Dashing through the snow, on a one horse open sleigh…lalalalalala…….

  5. @Danny – no Christmas displays yet in Paris

BTW:- Gordon Brown offered Lioyds the toxic HBOS he promised them that there be no HEAT from Euroland about Lioyds having 30% of the home loans market in the UK.

WEll, today Euroland SEZ that they not allow it!, it will have to be broken up…….so much for Gordon.

  7. Galleon insider scandal spreading to banks

…Morgan Stanley, which counted Galleon as one of its top-five hedge fund clients, and Goldman Sachs were Galleon’s top providers of hedge-fund services – or prime brokerage.

Galleon, which had about $7bn in assets at its peak, paid large amounts to banks because it specialised in short-term trading strategies, which put its officials in close contact with Wall Street traders and salespeople. As it grew, the hedge fund became known for pushing its contacts at banks for hints about market developments such as big buy and sell orders….

  8. As it is not legal for me to work in the US, regardless of being a citizen of the US or not … I find your above wording unusual.

Somehow being a feudal vassal of a state that forbids you to work seems like a pointless contradiction.

Feudal vassals always had permission to work, ever since the Roman armies retreated to the Jackboot of the Italian peninsula.

  9. ROFL PMSL white collar criminals at thier best

  10. I fully support the bailout of the richest people on earth. I mean who else is going to lay out $275K for a bottle of 1907 Heidsieck? Or Plunk down $68 mil for a 280′ Oceanco yacht? Or gorge themselves on Russian Almas caviar @ $25K/lb? Dude, there’s a lot of jobs at stake here!

I say print off at least $100 Trillion, no strings attached, and raise the taxes on the working poor to 90%. While we’re at it let’s nuke all of South America and Africa and steal all their shit.

  11. Iran opens exchange to trade oil, products-ISNA

….When plans were first mooted, some analysts speculated Iran might use it to undermine the importance of the U.S. dollar by pricing crude in euros or other currencies.

The report did not specify the currency in which trading would take place.

Iran wants to deregulate prices of petrochemicals and other oil products and create more transparency as part of a privatisation drive, aimed at attracting more foreign investment into the country’s oil industry.

But investors have shown limited interest mainly because of international sanctions imposed against Iran over its disputed nuclear programme, which the West fears is a cover to build nuclear arms, Iran denies this…..

Maybe the whole Iran Nuke propaganda is directly related to this ?

  12. Stacey we gotta have some people proping up the Housing market so thats why Giethner is helping his buddies ROFL PMSL bunch of Senile Lunatics

  14. E-Trade’s stress tester cannot imagine hyperinflation in USA or Europe :

    https://etrade.wb.riskmetrics.com/apollo/Command/PortfolioAnalysis

    This is a fatal flaw.

It ability to cope with out of country share market downturns is non-existent.

Most stress testing software available to your average person is (in a Comp.Risks context) nearly worthless.

  15. Well, until now he gets away with murder and the American public apparently doesn’t give a hoot.

Every country has the leaders it deserves.

  16. Government Is Trying to Make Bailouts for the Giant Banks PERMANENT

…In my opinion, Geithner’s proposal is “TARP on steroids.” Section 1204 of the proposal [the proposal being the "Resolution Authority for Large, Interconnected Financial Companies Act of 2009"] allows the executive branch to use taxpayer money to make loans to, or invest in, the largest financial institutions to avoid a systemic risk to the economy.

Geithner’s proposal reminds me of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), the $700 billion Wall Street bailout adopted last year, but the TARP was limited to two years, and to a maximum of $700 billion. Section 1204 is unlimited in dollar amount and is a permanent grant of power to the executive branch. TARP contained some limits on executive compensation and an array of special oversight authorities. Section 1204 contains absolutely no limits on executive compensation and no special oversight.

When I asked Geithner whether he would accept a $1 trillion limit on the new bailout authority (if the executive branch wanted to spend more, it would have to come back to Congress), he rejected a $1 trillion limit, insisting that the executive branch be able to respond without coming back to Congress….

Seems like hyperinflation was always part of the plan !
    ;-)

  17. And i have a feeling they are gonna make Obama Step down or JFK him cause he is still not in Iran with a base . That Bush idiot managed to accompish Iraq operations just 6 months into office . NWO seems to be stuck at the moment . Because everyone now knows if they go into Iraq its true and they get Busted. But seeing that these Senile Lunatics started this NWO in 1776 they aint gonna let go thats for Sure. the only thing is they dont know they prematurely ejaculated in 1776 ROFL PMSL and wasted so many years instead of enjoying life

That's sure how it looks. I think it is interesting to mentally put yourself in their shoes. My comments also relates to recent posts about King Canute and Marie Antoinette by Max in TAM UK.

People with power and/or wealth are surrounded by cronies who need to insulate the powerful person from reality and encourage their delusion. The cronies form part of the delusion, of course, and are deluded themselves and by their own collections of cronies. That's why I supported Max's rage agaisnt that bankster apologist on Face Off. It's all part of the same rot.

Some say that King Canute only asked to be taken to the sea to command the waves to receed to show his hangers-on how stupid they where for not telling him he couldn't do it. He was having a go at his advisers.

Max was saying, quite rightly, how Marie Antoinette genuinely could not understand why the populus was demanding bread and her comment, "can't they eat cake" was intended to be helpful, so isolated was she by her delusion makers.

Somehow this is inevitable with weath and power etc. The story always ends the same way. But rather than rioting in the street, accepting that the value of family, health, love and friendship makes all my hatred go away.

When I put my mind in their heads, I just feel sorry for them and feel that I'd really genuinely would be happy and poor.

  19. Typical refusniks! Who are YOU to deny the Lords and Ladies such amenities as the world’s most expensive toilet paper? Or diamond filtered vodka?

  25. @Stacy, That reminds me of It’s The Easter Bunny, Charlie Brown, where they showed Christmas decorations up in the stores already.

  26. So the corporation has finally evolved from a structure for shielding stockholders from legal liability to one shielded from the possibility of financial loss.

@Phil: “Iran opens exchange too trade oil..”….

Yes this is from Feb. 2008…but the article mentions the rial, the ruble, and by now any currency but the dollar is my guess…aren’t the gulf nations considering their own basket of currencies to go along with the IMF SDR’s??????

  28. @Richard@lattitude30N, The GCC plans to roll out a regional currency next year, but they’ve tried twice before. Word is that OPEC will start selling oil for that, or SDR’s. Or maybe Linden Dollars. OPEC did announce an oil-for-SDR policy at its meeting at Gabon in ’75, then abruptly withdrew the announcement. An SDR Substitution Account came close to opening in ’80, but Volcker saved the dollar by raising interest rates. Not sure if that would work now.

  29. Bonn – There are already US special forces operating in Iran (as well as supporting terror groups there). Obama is doing the job he was installed to do. Destabilising Iran in the hope of provoking her to something bigger is key on the Zionist/US agenda. So far credit to the Iranians they havent taken the bait.

  30. @ BondiBhoy
I know they are already there

  31. Secretary Eddie Haskel is so corrupt and such a bankster butt-licker that he makes not even a semblance of pretense anymore. Can you imagine this little boy being dragged up to a scaffold? It would be appalling. He would become a quivering mass of molten jelly, screaming and pleading and wailing. And this is what leads this country? This is how low the culture has descended. At least give me a good stock, tough guy criminal from “the Untouchables” or something. Why do these money thugs today look so pathetic? The kind of kid you could just beat into submission relentlessly back when you were a kid playing in a sandbox. AT least give me that guy that played Frank Nitti on the series with Bob Stack or maybe Vic Morrow. But Timmy Geithner? What an insult. What a dissappointment. If your going to steal several trillion you should at least be able to muster a 5 o’clock shadow and find your own penis in the dark.

  32. Nic, regarding your rage, you can get “Tale of Two Cities” on books on tape now and its very well read, I recommend it highly. Dickens was best at describing how these people behave and how a revolution begins.

  33. The only thing Dickens was good at was boring me to death with his somnambulist prose.

  34. Richard@lattitude30N

@The Man from Glad: ” regional currencies”..also meant to include the Bank of the South…and whatever develops in the ASEAN nations economic meetings in the coming months too.
