  3. How shocking! Another dual-citizen advocating for a war on Iran on behalf of Israel.

Hi Palestine argument is the typical Zionist bullshit: “accept” the state of Israel. How can you accept a state that has no borders? That continues stealing more and more Palestinian land? That is in violation of 68 UN resolutions on this matter? That illegally occupies also Lebanese and Syrian land? That has been conducting a slow motion genocide of the native population?

  4. @ Illya the ruling class dont give a damn about Israel or Palestine or any country or people Google Americas Stone Hinge

  15. Federal Reserve Policy Audit Legislation ‘Gutted,’ Paul Says

    By Bob Ivry

Oct. 30 (Bloomberg) — Representative Ron Paul, the Texas Republican who has called for an end to the Federal Reserve, said legislation he introduced to audit monetary policy has been “gutted” while moving toward a possible vote in the Democratic-controlled House.

The bill, with 308 co-sponsors, has been stripped of provisions that would remove Fed exemptions from audits of transactions with foreign central banks, monetary policy deliberations, transactions made under the direction of the Federal Open Market Committee and communications between the Board, the reserve banks and staff, Paul said today.

“There’s nothing left, it’s been gutted,” he said in a telephone interview. “This is not a partisan issue. People all over the country want to know what the Fed is up to, and this legislation was supposed to help them do that.”

The Fed, led by Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, has come under greater congressional scrutiny while attempting to end the financial crisis by bailing out financial firms and more than doubling its balance sheet to $2.16 trillion in the past year. The central bank is also buying $1.25 trillion of securities tied to home loans.

Paul, a member of the House Financial Services Committee, said Mel Watt, a Democrat from North Carolina, has eliminated “just about everything” while preparing the legislation for formal consideration. Watt is chairman of the panel’s domestic monetary policy and technology subcommittee.

Keith Kelly, a spokesman for Watt, declined to comment and said Watt wasn’t immediately available for an interview. Watt’s district includes Charlotte, headquarters of Bank of America Corp., the biggest U.S. lender.

Paul said he intends to introduce an amendment to the bill when it comes to the House floor for a vote restoring the legislation’s original language.

Representative Barney Frank, a Democrat from Massachusetts and chairman of the committee, said in interview that he intends to ensure legislation would provide a time lag between FOMC actions and the reporting of them.

Such a provision would “lessen the market impact,” he said on Oct. 20. “The importance is to see that there are no abuses and to judge what they did.”

The legislation will probably be included in a broader Democratic package of financial-regulation changes in the House, Frank said.

Ford Motor Company’s blue collar workers have rejected a changes that would have put Ford workers on par with GM and Chrysler workers. Basically it would have froze entry level salaries and would also have had a no strike close through 2015. The union leadership supported the concessions but the rank and file stood up to them. Workers stood up and beat both management and their own union leadership.

A superb season 1 and the starting half of season 2, we the audience were left with the same feeling as with the 2001 A Space Odyssey film, mystery, we couldn’t figure it out what was going on and we thought about it, pondered about it, looking for the answer, trying to solve the riddle. That is what made the series and the film great. But who cares, we want to have all chewed, solved and presented with an end so we don’t have to bother our minds about it. Watch a crime story where the crime is solved and you won’t remember it, watch a crime story without the solution and it will stick in mind for a long time.

Our sources tell us that the reason that Ken Lewis quit as CEO of Bank of America was because the Federal Reserve is dumping as much of the toxic waste as they can from other major banks into Bank of America and they are going to allow BoA to go bankrupt in 2010. There are 40 zombie banks in just Chicago alone. And, no one will take them over because they are so bad off with toxic waste. Corum that went under recently, and was bought by M&B had the Fed take all the toxic assets and M&B took the good stuff.

  40. Richard Pearle, lets take a closer look shall we. I was bar mitvahed so I’ll take the liberty to say that this is a classic little boy, a bar mitvah boy still in his own mind who engages in massive compensation to prove to the world that he can actually defend himself. Unfortunately this type is crawling all over Washington. Little Jewish boys still trying to prove to their Daddies that they are ‘strong’ and that they will please Daddy by revenging the holocaust that Daddy or Daddie’s friends endured. The common path by which humiliated victim becomes victimizer, pathetic little boy becomes full-blown Nazi.

I would throw in some sexual analysis as well but it would bore too many readers. I doubt this man engages any free sexual relationship. A very ugly, old limp troll of a human is the best I could do. Perhaps he rapes prostitutes after triple-dosing on Viagra or something but the act itself if ever committed must be hideously unimaginable and grotesque. This is an ogre. A dying old dragon living atop a huge mound of skulls and skeletons in a dark,stench-infested cave. IF Dante was right and there is a Hell, a cell is already reserved for Pearle close to the bottom where he can live out many millenia with roomates like Kissinger,Nixon,Goebels and Himmler.

Now I see what’s up. For a second I thought, Headley would go back to Rupert Murdoch? Strange.

Since Press TV if under Ofcom’s control. And Max and Stacy are on Press TV, if Ofcom fines a network, who pays? The network, or the presenter(s) in question? In the States, FCC fines can be up to $250,000 for each “offensive word.” The reasoning behind this? To shut down public broadcasting($250,000 is the anuual budget for many small to medium-sized PBS stations).

  44. @Youri Carma … Very compelling indeed.

Obama’s Economic Policy Has Doomed the US to Stagnation

This was the very moment of Obama’s failure, when he allowed Summers, Geithner and Beranke to establish the principle of “Too Big To Fail” and set up a financial oligarchy at the expense of taxpayers. We would have expected this out of the Treasury under Hank Paulson, but to see this kind of policy error favoring Wall Street over the US taxpayers from a government elected on the promise of reform is inexcusable, a disgrace.

“It represents a comprehensive, coordinated answer to the moral hazard problem posed by our largest, most interconnected financial institutions. It produces strong, accountable supervision of all our major financial firms and imposes costs not on the taxpayer but with the risk-takers, where they belong. It deters excessive risk taking and forces firms to better protect themselves against failure. It creates a strong, resilient, well-regulated financial system that can better absorb failure when it happens. And it establishes a resolution regime allowing the government, when the financial system is at risk, to unwind and break up a failing financial firm without imposing costs on taxpayers.”

The American public is going to be outraged about the rash of bankruptcies occurring during the Basel ii mandate due to a temerity on the part of banks: Geithner wisely is deflecting the blame elsewhere, though it lies in large part due to his influence.

Wasn’t Geithner the one who said he was ‘open’ to the sdr as reserve currency and then flat-footedly said he supported the dollar as reserve currency? Geithner is a trickster.

I like to keep my math and ideas simple.

    Canada supports 32 millions.

The US with its 3 warmer zones on the same azimuth can at best support 3 x Canada.

Ergo, the US’s maximal supportable population with respect to surviving an ecological catastrophe (1) is about 150 million.

    (1) Let’s just say “Yellowstone Caldera blowing up” but not >>big time<< like Lake Toba.

I have not been to Africa, nor Europe — but for the EU some US number must exist. I would love to see India and China, but their probable supportable numbers are not at all clear to me.

    South America?
    I have no clue.
There is a lot of geographical variance to account for.

Australia and NZ are for the most part at their maximal capacity as far as I can tell — NZ has its Lake Tapo you know…

Arianna has established somewhat of a shrine to her overlord, hanky panky paulson .

  87. It looks like israel has used mercenaries in the war in Gaza. So they used US money to make a South African soldier take the lives of defencless palestinians. Next thing they build a big stadium around Gaza and sell the tv rights to watching the fight..

Has everyone seen the “Osama bin laden was murdered” video?

  90. @Mep … Video club:

    Yes, posted it months ago.
ALso, have you seen the video ( hopefully online still ) of the Pakistani ISI boss that says quite plainly “Everybody knows 9…(10+-1) was an inside job ”
ISI worked very closely with the CIA pre 9…(10+-1), so they should know. Not to mentione the 10K that was paid to A t t a from a Pakistani bank account.

BTW … Lethal Weapon 4 was pretty good IMO … Willis’ partner started off the film like a raving lunatic …. “everything in the news is manipulated”.

  91. correction@Mep … Video club:

    100K of course !

  92. @ Phil – Of course, she misspoke when saying that Osama had been murdered. What interested me was the suggestion that internal security was collapsing because of forces within the government/intelligence. It was Tofu Charlie’s blog posting that got me looking around the intertubes for more info. on the situation in Pakistan . . . something is smelling very, very fishy there. Everybody should read the article that Tofu Charlie linked to re: Hillary Clinton’s visit to Pakistan.

  93. @ Phil – No, I didn’t see that video. If you can track it down, please post it.

  94. @Mep
This is NOT the video I was looking for.
IIRC, it was during the time when Pakistan was being accused of the Mumbai attacj, where the ISI boss said on “TV” .. “Everbody knows that …. was an inside job”.
I’m surprised it is not on YouTube … I’ll carry on trying to find it.

AJ says he was referring to Mumbai …

OTOH, I remember that quote on TV … just can’t remember where or which channel is was. It was at a moment when the ISI boss was getting really annoyed about being accused of the Mumbai bombings, when he let it slip out.

    Mr. Stewart:
The promotion of Death should not be a social program.

If we have reached that stage of acceptance, then one should not consider oneself as an ‘opt-out’.

Canadians are just as ignorant of reality as Americans.

  97. Very disappointed by that Karl Denninger piece on Afghanistan. The fact that he’s pushing for EITHER a Goebbels-like ‘total war’ or else a total withdrawal is disturbing to say the least. There shouldn’t be an either. This conflict is simply pure, criminal imperialist aggression. To make out like it’s akin to some sort of life & death struggle against the forces of European & Japanese nationalism 65 years ago is disgusting in the extreme. He cites the examples of Vietnam & Korea as 2 conflicts where the US didnt commit to total war and ended up withdrawing. I would say that in those wars the US leadership was finally compelled by public antipathy to the wars at home & the degree of resistance within the affected nations themselves…as well as the soaring costs. In WW1 the Germans were on their last legs when the Americans intervened. In WW2 one could also argue that the US intervened only when it was opportune to do so, but ultimately it’s war manufacturing capacity did play a significant part in defeating the fascist powers. The Soviets devoted far more resources to their own Afghan conflict and they still could not crush the tribal groupings, no matter how many villages & wedding parties they wiped out. In many ways the US now is akin to the Third Reich as well as postwar USSR…its legions spread out over vast distances trying to both maintain an occupying ‘presence’ and also trying to stamp out the flames of resistance.

    “tone has changed”

The old good cop vs. bad cop routine. Well, hell, we already knew this–well, most of us did anyway. Some were fooled by B.O., at first.
