It has been suggested that Mr Hampton may have been involved in talks discussing nuclear testing in Iran. The UN has strongly denied the claims…

  • @ Mother Earth

“General Motors’ behaviour shows the ugly face of turbo-capitalism,” said Juergen Ruettgers, premier of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, where there are fears that the Opel plant in Bochum could face closure.

    “Turbo-capitalism” . . . nice!

  • The Italians got those agents by the short and curlies…

  • @phil

Knuth is the algorithm guy. The problem is, that type of algorithm doesn’t translate to the massively parallel systems of the near future. I vote for Danny Hillis of Thinking Machines fame. He invented genetic algorithms which in IMO is the future which will eventually get us to AI.

Google will probably get to AI first at the rate they’re going. They try to pretend that AI is not their ultimate goal, but I don’t believe them. I think Google has always been about AI right from the start.

The other possibility is that some financial program like HFT will get so smart that it will make the jump to AI. And don’t think they don’t have that as a goal. Just imagine a HFT system that could also analyze the latest news – like Fed announcements – and take into account the human psychology of trading. It would be able to adapt to changes within microseconds and wouldn’t rely on hard coded algorithms. The algorithms would adapt and evolve like a real living, breathing organism.

There. I’ve spilled my guts. This is my working thesis for the next 20 years. After that comes the AI Singularity and all bets are off.

  • What Did Cuomo Find in Intel’s Emails?

MUST READ …. to understand a “little” about the US Corporate Thuggery !

And not to mention the AMD shareholders that have lost significant money due to this type of behaviour .. not to even mention AMD’s losses which are IMO in the 10′s of Billions of US$s.

  • @phil

I worked for Intel for a short time. I can’t think of a worse company to work for. Take a look at FACE (Fellow Former And Current Employees of Intel) website. Intel sucks!

  • @Frank … my condolences … yes, I’m aware of that site !

Have you read “Boiling Frogs “?

  • @phil – Boiling Frogs, most definitely! That’s Sibel Edmonds new site. I have a RSS link to them from my blog Future News Today. I’ll know this country is back on track when Sibel is allowed to speak freely and Congress starts taking action based on her information.

  • @Frank … you may have noticed that Bush’s first visitor on his first day in office was Barret !

I’ve been following Intel’s marketing tricks since over 10 years .. I guess now that AMD ( The Foundary Company – Arab money ) is building a Fab in NY , things may change !

  • The CIA has bought two Soviet super-fighters on the black market of Eastern Europe, the famous Sukhoi Su-30 Flanker. The Flanker jet is hypermaneverable and can shoot down any western jet, even the F-22 Raptor in some circumstances. Russia has been giving these potent weapons to any states that are anti-USA, including Venezuela and China. The jet has even been flown in Paris. The deal is thought to be with Ukraine, where unscrupulous government officials are easily bribed and even sold nuclear capable Kh-55 cruise missiles to Iran and China.

The jets arrived in an unmarked military cargo plane that is not meant to draw attention. But these photos reveal two jets being unloaded and stored in a civilian hanger.

  • @youri

    Good post but,

You are copying the headline of the religous beliefs article. It gives the wrong suggestion that climate convictions are the same as religious beliefs. The ruling was that :

“If a person can establish he holds a philosophical belief based on science as opposed, for example, to religion, then there is no reason to disqualify it from protection.”

So the ruling was that scientific views should be protected as much as religious beliefs, not that they are the same.

  • 23 CIA agents, such a number, If you think about it, that van must have been stuffed full of CIA men. They can build a whole new prison wing if they lock all CIA men up in Italy. How did they split the tasks? Pink, you drive from here to the corner, Black, you drive the next block, then we stop to change seats and switch Orange and Yellow from the back of the van to the front, Brown, you can sit on Pinks lap, I guess turqouise and Verulian will have to take the bus…

  • @stacey

I suppose deleting and “moderating” what WE have to say somehow empowers you?

Pathetic. I am out of here.

My best wishes and regards to all, I’ll see you in the next life.

WTF, WTF, what the fucking fuck!!!

  • Former UK ambassador: CIA sent people to be ‘raped with broken bottles’

“The CIA relied on intelligence based on torture in prisons in Uzbekistan, a place where widespread torture practices include raping suspects with broken bottles and boiling them alive, says a former British ambassador to the central Asian country.

  • Illya, I suspect the moderation is automatic based on keywords. Chill dude. I doubt it is personal.

  • @Dan II

Illya, I suspect the moderation is automatic based on keywords. Chill dude. I doubt it is personal.

    I can attest to that.

  • @dantu
Automatic, Key Words yeah… I noticed someones comment got moderated t’otherday… phil I think???for no other reason that I could see, than the comment contained too many K’s but I may be wrong… did notice he commented on being moderated earlier… can’t remember now what section it was in… got me curious now!!!
    @illya
PS. ILLYA… check tomorrow your comment may appear!!!

  • @sklein

I must not be controversial enough. I have yet to be moderated.

I hope Illya reconsiders . . . he brings a fresh perspective on many topics.

  • if he returns, i lose all respect for him

  • @Supergeek

Maybe Stacy will confirm this . . . the forum software has moderation built in and she has to personally read posts that are flagged. Since Stacy has a life outside of this forum, she may not be able to instantly approve automatically flagged comments.

Stacy, if you see this, how close am I?

  • NO, it is not. Evidence is this: from my work IP everything is “moderated”. Soon that policy will be extended to my home IP.

I am disappointed, to say the least.

God forbid that someone should utter the J** word or he fact that the IMF, WB, BIS, Wall St, City of London, etc are, to a man, controlled by a certain K*azar faction.

Heaven forbid we should actually address the motherfucking REALITY of our planets’ decrepitude.

Whatever, I am out of here unless there is a significant change in orthodoxy.

  • @white hunter . . . “if he returns, i lose all respect for him”

Even with an explanation and possible apology?

  • this must be the “next life”

  • @Mother earth

Well they are cause the global warming has no scientific backup and was invented by marketeers to get the global government. So it has notin to do with science thus a believe/religion.

Scientist are actual suing the evil doers because of the lack of scientific prove of this CO2 hoax. They cunningly changed the global warming in global change to save their criminal necks.

  • Ok, I’m going to do a test based on Illya’s concept of why he was moderated. The next comment will be a test . . . only a test . . . please stay tuned in the event of an actual of an emergency . . .

  • Jew Nigger Pollock Kite KKK

  • I’ve been moderated before and it never showed up. HuffPo on the other hand only will allow people to talk about how cool the first family is.

  • @Y’all
Last time I got moderated… was because one night… I deleted a letter in my own name so ‘the site’ treated me as a new member???

  • Heard a parallel to actual carbon emissions via made made activities would equal the same amount as millions of other species emitting CO2 by breathing – you think the ice caps would melt because of a vibrant thriving life…

Could it possibly have something to do with the sun not as stable or predictable as Al Gore thinks it is

  • @Joe

CO2 emissions causing warming has been shown to be pseudoscience. It is actually the reverse – warming will raise CO2 levels.

We need responsible environmental policies. We do not need environmental policies that tax the masses to enrich the classes.

  • @Illya:
I thought I was the histrionic one?

  • @ Illya – Left you a message on the other thread. I’ve had things get caught in the spam filter, too. You shoud’ve waited before assuming that you were being moderated.

  • *man made
    Dan II

I agree. Even Greenpeace isn’t on board for the cap & trade bill which, they said is too ‘political’. Placing a tax on everything isn’t the best solution for incentive or disincentive, but government needs to get more taxes from somewhere to help finance its overstretched outreach.
Cap & Trade is just a tax scheme with no actual outlook for renewable energy growth. Maybe taking away government subsidies from big oil and placing them towards renewable energy growth would work.. still not sure though

  • @Joe

I think people should get re-acquainted with the word “hypocrite.”

When a certain lifestyle is preached, perhaps the preacher should abide by his/her convictions. This idea that somehow “I am special” is beginning to wear thin with me.

  • @Joe@Dan II

The CO2 hoax is based on a very cranky computer model which you could describe more as computer animation same as with the 911 building bogus pancake computer animation. Because people refuse to think for themselves Walt Disney slips in.

From Ice samples 100% scientific evidence has been produced that CO2 levels rise after the earth has warmed up NEVER BEFORE. Here I am not even talking about the fact that the CO2 we produce isn’t even significant. Oceans take up CO2 but also can release it. Watch this docu Global Warming Doomsday Called Off http://tinyurl.com/yeba853

Ice mass actulaly increased and YES polar bears can swim, very good and long distances I may add to get their food. We are probably facing a Ice Age if the sun stays sluggish with NO SUNSPOTS.

We had a period of warming till 2005 or so but also on Mars, Jupiter and all the other planets so YES IT’S THE SUN but not surprisingly I may add. Only look at the scale of the sun in comparison with the earth for example http://media.photobucket.com/image/earth%20sun%20scale/ngeekhiong/HolmesSunEarthSize.jpg

  • Great Blog MAX

    Max is to the point!

I’d like to have a hotel with a freaken pool in the hotel ROOM!!!!

  • Good piece of journalism, that hotel room in Milan was nice, ye jammy bastard.

  • @Youri

Yup. Al Gore’s infamous chart comparing temperature and CO2 levels for example. The computer models were “tweaked” to produce the desired results. Independent verification by a multitude of expert scholars on the subject made a mockery of Gore’s science. The vast majority of scientists scoff at Gore’s “science.” Facts mean nothing. It is opinion and perception that make policy.
