  1. I am watching pictures of US soldiers resting in the afghan sands and thinking.. once russians where there and lost (a.k.a did not win) .. now US (and whole of EU) is there… and I am thinking WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING THERE!.. ah right, war makes money..

  2. Survivor of Socialism Has Warning for America

By Bob Ellis on November 12th, 2009

    http://www.dakotavoice.com/2009/11/survivor-of-socialism-has-warning-for-america/

Very good read about Austria before Hitler took over the country.

  3. Dear lord. One would think that a story like this could wait until April 1st.

So the Brits are bribing the Taliban with bags of gold; we’re paying them off to not shoot our troops in certain places–so that the Taliban have more money to get the supplies needed to blow them up elsewhere; we’re spending $400/gallon for oil there; and we’re going to send more troops in, which will only increase the $ we spend wasting oil and paying off “insurgents” so that they can get stronger and kill more of our troops where we’re not paying them to cease fire.

Talk about insanity. The government better hope that it pays some decent bribes to the troops when they get home, ’cause they’re going to be pretty pissed about being dumped in Afghanistan to chase ghosts and put their lives on the line while everyone around them from the defense contractors to the Taliban make money . . . and earn bags of gold.

  4. They simply pay more than the Taliban, which makes sense..

    @Phil

Not meant to critisize you or your post, but imho people often forget that Hitler as a dictator was able to get things done that had been impossible (germany was not homgenous, and the people where not united) before, and that made him very popular. This was in the period before the war. Pointing at common governmental methods also practiced by Hitler does not mean they are unsound or bad. He used a pen on occasion. Pens are evil.

The depravity came later, when he realized he had only a few more years to achieve his megaloman dream and he so fatally decided to ram it thru.

One historian claims Hitler in the end decided to kill his own army because it had dissapointed him by losing battles, proving the ‘german’ race was inferior and would by his own logic have to perish. Hence the russian campaign.

The main lesson you learn from Hitler imho is that you better get our asap when you see elated crowds following leaders and are politely pressured into doing the same…

  5. @ME .. criticizing my post is fully acceptable….

… except you don’t need to in this case.
Sure, the old Germans say Hitler did a lot of good – at the beginning – which he did. OTOH, people that could read , listen and watch , knew what was coming.
He was a madman from the very beginning, even although he rescued Germany from the Versailles Treaty.
The fact is, that “a Hitler” ( by whatever name ) had to come … a direct result of how Germany was “treated” after WW1 and especuially by the the Versailles “Treaty”.

  6. @ Mongo
Noboby has ever won against the Afghans. Been going on for 100s of years.

“the massacre of the British and Indian Army retreating from Kabul [through the Kyber pass] in January 1842….”

“On 12th October 1842 Pollock and Nott left Kabul with their troops and began the retreat to India via Gandamak, Jellalabad and Peshawar, destroying Jellalabad and Ali Masjid and many villages and towns on the way. Yet again the truth of Wellington’s words were demonstrated (“It is easy to get into Afghanistan. The problem is getting out again.”)”

Wellington could have said that last week for all that anyone takes any notice or LEARNS anything.

    http://www.britishbattles.com/first-afghan-war/kabul-1842.htm

    Try contrasting that with today
“But the reopening of the [Kyber] pass, the Los Angeles Times notes, is “unlikely to mark an end to bold attacks by militants that have plagued the route.” January 2009.

    http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2009/01/over-the-weeken/

  7. @ Phil

And something like the draconian Versailles “Treaty” is now being forced on the Icelandic people, as M&S have pointed out on a few occasions.

Good job there is only a handful of them.

  8. @NicAbbott .. agree on both posts.

They will never conquer Afghanistan … these people never studied history as you said.

One would like to think that the world watching what happens to Iceland would be a lesson to all. Of course, very few “MSM” articles discussing the realities of what happened.

  10. The conflict over Afghanistan between the old empires of Russia and Britain was called “The Great Game”. It still should be.

“The classic Great Game period is generally regarded as running approximately from the Russo-Persian Treaty of 1813……
…..Recently there has been some recognition of the fact, that the Great Game continues as a conflict between the US led NATO and the Russia-China led SCO over the Central Asian oil pipelines”

and @Phil, in the same article,

“In the run-up to World War I, both empires were alarmed by Germany’s increasing activity in the Middle East, notably the German project of the Baghdad Railway, which would open up Iraq and Iran to German trade and technology….”

Yes, that’s right folks, WW1 was about stopping German extending the Orient Express from Istanbul to Baghdad

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Game

  11. @NicAbbott … Yep … just amazing how our politicians can send people to die and aren’t even honest with them about “why”.

  12. @NicAbbot

Amazingly, I think LaRouche talked about this aspect as an impetus for war in one of his 3 hour long videos. Essentially the British wanted to control trade through the seas and they saw a developed railway system as as a threat. War ensues.

  13. I have to share that I had some sort of paradigm shift having watched this video on water and Masaru Emoto. It seems so simple and readily appliable–The power of words, attitudes, and the energy you give off. I hope it is as thought provoking for you guys as it was for me.

  18. USD up.

Looks like market in US may finally crack.

  19. All:

Both the Chinese government and MI6 now confirm reports that much of the gold sold by the Federal Reserve Board over the past decade is in fact gold plated tungsten.

    Ben Fulford

Anyone got any knowledge about this claim?

  20. Gold…

Just shows how seriously WS takes the Gold price.
Up only 10% since afew moths and they all start talking about it. ( The Fiat Thermometer )

How about talking about all those WS stocks that have moved UP 500% since the DJIA 6666 ?
No .. that is OK of course … but Gold up 10% … is horror !

  21. @Mini US … USD up.

Yes, the usual See-Saw action between US$ and Gold.

Each time US$ strengthens, Gold holds it’s position.
Then when the US$ drops a little, the Gold price in US$s obviously moves higher again. … and then holds it’s position.

It’s a pity ZH hasn’t yet reported the actual data on this.

  22. @Phil
I read somewhere the german generals really wanted to give up earlier in WO I but the industrialists would not let them..

  29. @ME … but the industrialists would not let them..

Do you mean the German industrialists ?

Maybe .. I’m sure they had ambitions to produce yet another “Wunderwaffe” to win the war !
    Such is any MIC !

  30. @Gold & US$

Dollar up strong this morning , while Gold and Silver are holding their own …
    SeeSaw again ? ..hopefully !

  31. Mother Earth I was under the impression Bismarck united Germany, also that the US would not allow England and France to forgive Germany its war debt thus creating the conditions for WW2.

  32. ME: Thanks for the feedback, have you got any references on the myth angle ?

  33. @Bonn

Thanks for the explanation and no offense taken.

On a lighter note, don’t you guys who religiously listen to Max and Stacy in all their incarnations like me ever wish that Stacy would break kayfabe and call Max “honey” on “On the Edge”? They’re cozy and playful on the “Truth”, but very business-like on TV.

I’m bullish on Stacy sneaking in a “bye, honey!” in the near future “On the Edge”.

  39. @Phil

Yes german industrialists..They where making nice money and when the generals wanted to stop halfway they forced them to continue..Commercial interest have more political power than generals..I will try to find the source, it was in a documentary..

    @Ptah

I looked into the tungsten story and it only works with large bars that are above scrutiny. You can’t have tungsten on the surface, cause that would show immediately, the only use is as a filler in a large bar. I’m not contesting there may be 400oz bars filled with tungsten, there may be, there have been golded plated steel bars delivered to Ethiopia. It just hasen’t been confirmed by anyone to occur in the bars that are now more frequent. If anyone has alink to a sawn trough or partially melted bar with a tungsten core I’d be super interested..

  40. Mahabharta is an ancient mythological story told in India but i suspect it was worldwide some studies suggest 14 billlion people were there when that war took place
    “Vymhana Shastra Astra”
where have you heard the name Astra ?
Lot more out there than meets the eye

  41. @Bonn

Went on YT and looked up a vid.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOhLfP-IJps

Nevermind the message…seriously, what a groovy tune in the background!!?! If I’m going to die, I want to die to this soundtrack.

What I would give to have been a fly on the wall at the recording of this track. “Start howling like Niburu is coming right at us!”

On a tangential note, went passed the 2300 mark on Literati, saw that people are taking profits on gold, and I’m going to make scones based on a recipe video I saw on YT. Thank you internet. If not for you, no Literati, no gold holdings in all likelihood, no scones, and probably 100 pages to go on Atlas Shrugged.

    Hitler

My grandparents and many Austrian immigrated to the Pennsylvania area. When I was a young pup, we spent much time visiting the elders and friends. They were tight. Interestingly most had pictures of Hitler, swastikas, and flags inside their homes. Many, many conversations regarding the good, Hitler did. They talked in dialect, especially when they were sauced up on beer and schligavich (a homemade brew of prune whiskey) Oh the memories …

  48. The region between Pakistan and Afganistan is called the ‘Hindu Kush’. It means hindu killer, because no hindu venturing there ever returned…

U right to that in the Mahabharata there was a God that lived here in India thats what i have read and he refused to accept an Another Gods claim to bow down to him Myth says i guess he sent a general to meet this bloke in India 2 times i guess the first time the indian bloke refused the 2nd time he was sent to war against this indian god and underestemated the Indian Gods technology i guess but it says powers so then all hhell broke loose

  49. ME: Kush, or Cush refers to the sons of Ham. The sons of Ham are Africans, hamitic. The use of Cush in a place name indicates paths along the great migration out of Africa were one could find knowledge or wisdom, collections of people who came from mature civilisations and had access to generations of learning. There are a few Kushs inside Africa too. Not sure why the term ‘killer’ would get confused with that!

I would gladly trust a unicorn over the IMF currency wizards. With one I’m assured destruction: and unicorns seem rather fun for play.

Mind you: no one can see into the future. But if you have already stepped on a the head of a rake and been struck between the eyes it might do to question a continued application of the same model.
