  • “More and more analysts are sold on the idea that US oil demand peaked in 2007,” Antoine Halff and Veronique Lashinski, energy analysts at Newedge brokerage, wrote in a report early this year. “The market meltdown is likely to entrench current demand losses not only in the US itself but in the world at large,” they added.

Not everyone agrees. The IEA believes Asia is stepping in as the engine of growth and will need fossil fuels in order to expand.

  • Over the course of the past few weeks, I have investigated the increased role of momentum-based and high-frequency-trading quant funds. Though hard to “quantify,” I believe that the disproportionate role of these funds, which use algorithmic formulas in their directional trading strategy, is shockingly influential in the current momentum-based climate and is serving as an “invisible hand.”

By some estimates, this price-momentum-based quant trading now has doubled in significance since early in the year, to more than two-thirds of the average day’s trading. Trades initiated by these funds are insensitive to an underemployment rate approaching 18%, signs of an unsteady recovery in housing, the prospects for higher marginal tax rates and how we are going to finance our budget deficit, which hurdles ever higher. Really!?!

  • And here is where I do have a beef with Wall Street: While global competition is increasing our need to invest in new industries and technologies, the strategies of financial institutions is to risk increasing amounts of capital on derivative instruments that have no clear industrial benefit or economic value. This is crowding out our collective ability to take risks on enterprises that could have clear impact on our national competitiveness and standard of living in the future.

For example, the fact that excessive leverage of financial-industry balance sheets has been allowed to create a scarcity of credit for U.S. industrial enterprises is a real threat to long-term innovation, and one I now wrestle with every day as the companies I invest in — and their customers around the world — struggle to attain adequate working capital. If we want to blame Wall Street for threatening U.S. competitiveness, we should start there.

  • Good links Youri, I’m enjoying the trip

    - Peak Uranium

    - Enough Coal
    - Enough Sun

  • @warburg sidney

He’s a very smart guy no doubt about it. I trust his views on many areas but some things he says, more into the esoteric are difficult to judge on bogus or not? That’s the problem if you get into this area.

I do believe that there is a lot more between heaven and earth than we can see or now know. So who can tell?

I think remote viewing is for real, aliens are cause there is overwhelming evidence. Our history is much larger than we’ve been told. There is live in the universe everywhere. There are Ruins, Sphinxes and Pyramids on Mars. There are also buildings on the moon. Antigravity technology is possible cause the aliens use it for quiet some time now, they are far ahead of us cause there solar system(s) are much older.

Well a lot is possible that’s for sure but to believe it on one mans story remains difficult and than it’s a matter of you believe it or not. Sometimes only your gut feelin can tell.

Deagle is a good guy and I apreciate him for the good work. The esoteric stuff is anybodies guess.

  • @warburg sidney

Go into the flu stuff later I have a info overflow at the moment…can’t think straight. come back on your article tomorrow. This is an important link to follow for the moment:

  • Youri like I said before I hung out some time at projectcamelot.org and have mixed feelings about it like you said. But I also found things over there like paul Laviolette, a humble interesting scientist who talks about super waves, Sure super waves go beyond my knowledge…. but listing to him I learned about the so called black projects (advanced secret science projects of what, many times, the president and congress does not know of). Together with the Griffin/Norman Dodd interview
    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7373201783240489827#
I learned that eduction is about two things:
    -Install a grid that take care of the content (little advanced and in cases not scientific correct);
-Install a filter that filters out gifted people in important subjects like physics etc to, at first give the scholar ships, and some later enrole them gradualy into this black project…
Conclusion: the actual state of science is much more advanced than we know about!

  • The assets people would invest in to get out of failing fiat currencies, are over-valued due to leveraging, with the only reasonably accessible exception being gold. So why wouldn’t gold be seized?

If a global digital currency were put in place and it were illegal to own significant amounts of gold, it would be very difficult for people outside the established criminal circles to sell their gold.

Gold investing could be a way of allowing more informed people to think they’ve got an edge thus venting pressure and preventing more meaningful action. In the end, when the majority of people in the lucky billion category of today, are impoverished, they won’t fight for the gold ownership of a few.

  • sorry
I learned that eduction is about two things:
    is of course education

  • @youri
yeah… yeah… but WTF… I mean why don’t you do something meaningful with your time and sort out that… sinterrasklaas thing you lot should be shamed … I don’t know how you could even live in a country like that… you dutch make the americans look like some advanced beings from the future… no prezzies for you this year… xmas is cancelled for you and the rest of your lot damn!!!

  • @mike king
wher are you when we need you most… I always agreed with you about the cliquey…smug chit chatting… there is a place to go… and do all that desperate saddo stuff!!!

  • @sg ..I know what you mean all this postulating on this site is tooo much. Need to do things to get the couch potatoes off thier asses and fire a few shots.

  • SG and DV.
    Go on then.
Otherwise you are just postulating too :)

  • @dan .valley
being friendly is good, people making connections is brilliant part of what it’s all about… and I can waffle a bit myself… but sad in jokes and and trying to establish cliques etc… is too much like being back at school and just is a way of trying to exclude people and create a kinda sad little hierachy!!

  • @Mini US
postulater… what you think I’m playing… listen I aint bragging…. but everyone who knows me in the real world… if they only know one thing about me… they know I mean it!!!

  • so as we all wait for dec. 1st to roll around and if the vote does go in favor of auditing the fed…how severe do you think the fall out will be and what will the people grab onto moving forward….this I feel is the the bigger picture we need to prepare for.

  • Human DNA can’t make someone human, otherwise you could take a strand of DNA and call it human. Broad swipes don’t really help to confront or expose our opponents. Now if we could point out the brass in those companies who have taken steps against liberty, that might be helpful.

  • I also do more than postulate …the organizations I recommend joining and have plans of action that I partake in…Im doing as much as I can from where i am

  • Hahahhaha

Its a forum for whoever. Freedom, its great.
Let them be what they wanna be…
and they let you be who you are.

    Enjoy.

  • @Y’all
I’ve always had a theory about this site and the internet… that everyone has a kinda virtual alter ego… those that regularly make out they are militant… or are foul mouthed haters… are in fact teddy bears and those that are really well mannered and polite are probably capable of being real psychos… just a theory mind!!!

  • @minus
whoever, whatever… er…no… mostly it should be… MARKETS, FINANCE and SCANDAL!!!

  • @Youri:
    The Snoot Addendum is lovely.

    @MiniUS:
I read all of your and none of Jim’s.

    @OP:
Never got “bum in the face” from a doggy before. Poor little mite. Here’s a “your momma” joke to cheer him up!

    @DanValley:

The vote is a joke. The US is under FASP from our own IMF/Treasury as FrankHope indicated.

This is truly the mother of all coopted movements. Like the JollyGreenGiant is taking a dump in the US economic tank.

You think the bozo Patriots have plan B?

  • @minus
whoever, whatever… er…no… mostly it should be… MARKETS, FINANCE and SCANDAL!!!

    To Whomever:
    Whatever.

  • @frank….I guess its time to use those nukes.

  • @ Snoot…heres a Frank Hope

There once was a girl from Baroda
    Who built herself a pagoda
    The walls of its halls
    Were hung with the balls
And the tools of the fools from the fed

  • @DanValley:
Did you know the sdr system is now in place for all cross-border trade? I’ve spent the morning reading on it. The Suez Canal has been using sdr-units for exchange since 1975.

The BIS is planning on cutting off the US like a lesion. Deft swift cut: except for the military arm. There is no recourse: in or out.

The sdr used as unit of account will lead your sniffer to the agencies and corporations which are in: and gold in the sdr basket???

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @DanValley:

THIS IS ALL ABOUT TRADE. THE NWO IS A TRADE COOPERATIVE RUN THROUGH THE BANKS.

All those do-goody-ooers are wasting their time trying to reform the US. The currency cartel is running things through the OCC now.

People gotta think before they act and trust as this point should not extend to those who are paid to talk.

  • I lived in Peru for two years. What made me ‘better’ than the Peruvians was the pay in dollars. The Peruvians were subjugated by my damn dollar bills.

If we’re lucky our standard of living will meet Banana Republic standard. But what I remember was their were two classes of Peruvians. Those born into privilege and the rest. The rest had no medical, no potable water, no sewage drainage. Garbage was thrown in the rivers. The people believed that blond hair equalled power and would harass my friend’s little girl just to touch her blood hair for “suerte”.

That inequal system was brought into the world by the same people who are now giving us Copehagen.

  • Sorry, blond hair I meant….typo

  • I am so glad Max has finally realized who Obama really is! Great job on the zombie/vampire and the 2012 fear hoax too!

John F. Kennedy told his wife not to curtsy to the Queen of England!! JFK forever!!

  • Shedlock’s missing the point re: food stamps and uenmployment benefits.

Apparently he didn’t get the memo about how many people that are on food stamps. How many of these people went from high-salary jobs to stamps. And, Congress passed a bill to extend benefits. But ONLY to certain states with the highest unrmployment rates. Which means more votes for the Democrats in 2010?

    Do your homework.
