Perhaps the people who think you’re nuts are more integrated into their received, standardized belief system. Now that the media has become BB, people sincerely believe that everything they need to know is out there in the general or “alternative” media. There has also been quite a campaign to marginalize dissenting voices and anyone who dares question authority.
In science, even when a particular branch is in shreds, nobody’s game to say so. There’s too much at stake. Young researchers who are aware of the problems only whisper about the cracks in the edifices; retired scientists tend to be a little bolder. Those who do speak out get slaughtered, sometimes physically and not just in terms of their careers.
Fomenko’s books look like fun. I haven’t read them yet. The pan-Russian pitch is not a problem. We have to use some discernment and go from there. Sometimes the craziest claims are closest to the truth. The bridges have been burnt so we can rarely leap across the chasms.
@ anything but green.again
I dont post stuff cause people think I am Looney
Yes i’ve seen that a year or so back.
So I am happy to be content with my own Beliefs.
Oops, Bonn, just checked your links. The quote’s there. Sorry.
” When asked in an interview at Rochester University seven years after the Alamogordo nuclear test whether that was the first atomic bomb ever to be detonated, his reply was, “Well, yes, in modern history.”
@ Bonn
“When Oppenheimer saw the huge cloud rising over the desert, he later reported, a passage from the Bhagavad Gita came to him: “I am become Death, the shatterer of worlds.” ”
What are the odds of a scientist knowing such Indian texts off by heart?
Do you remember how he corrected a reporter’s reference to the bomb being the first ever? He said something like “The first in OUR time.”
@ Stacey
You know me I belive that a Nuke war took place long time ago so you’ll probably think I ‘am Looney
There’s Just too much Evidense
The amount of Inventions in the last 100 years is just not feasable someones helping or some book was found some where
Like I said before If you told me 20 years back that I could Interact with anybody on the Earth Intantly as we do here I woulda called you Looney.
@Bonn – we know that space can travel faster than the speed of light, and right now galaxies are moving away from each other at faster than the speed of light; I believe that E=MC2 & quantum mechanics run into a problem past the event horizon and into the black hole . . . they are searching for an answer via quantum gravity
Yup E= MC Square is in Question now by scientests
they are saying at the CERN – The Large Hadron Collider
that you can go faster than the speed of light
And now come to think of it saying time travel would be possible if you go faster than light is Baloney
The divisions are artificially created and well-tried tools for herding us. If you whore around the sites without regard to political or religious affiliations, you can discover some amazing stuff.
BTW, Einstein was an artificially created “hero” set up to stymie scientific research in the commoners’ world. Sorreeeeeeee.
@Phil – where I grew up in Connecticut, we were so far from anything, including our school, so I had to wait for bus at 7.15am!!! And our driveway was really long, so I had to leave at like 6.45 (a bit of an exaggeration); you can imagine I was the crankiest 10 year old on planet; the funny thing though is that I would wake up at like 6.43, take a one minute shower and then dress quickly, and run out the door; so in the winter, my hair would usually freeze by the time I got to the bus stop
@anything but green.again – I know we don’t see eye to eye on anything but it is good to have you here; I don’t like group think and excluding differing opinions; I do notice that many US based blogs fall rigidly into that right/left, red state/blue state, Dem/Republican thing and each side just shouts down the other; I think that is ultimately dangerous; and even if it seems like I am 100% certain of some of my opinions, I am fact only ever about 95% convinced, I like to leave at least some small margin of doubt in my own mind; Einstein is my hero for the way he dedicated much of his life to proving that some of his theories were wrong!
Still up then. Shall look forward to it.
Really enjoy your appearances. Hope you’re on.
Just because we don’t see eye-to-eye on practically anything doesn’t mean I don’t love ya.
Yeah .. I hate mornings.
My wife has to get the kids to school at 8:00 … in winter when it’s dark , it’s really depressing.
WhyTF doesn’t society “wake up” and get up as the sun rises … like humans have been accustomed to do for thousands of years.
All to do with keeping the debt salves working methinks !

That means at least three generations, and heavily worked over mentally/emotionally. Heard his granpa was a Freemason. The actors are bound to obey orders on pain of death, and are generally controlled by blackmail (mainly for pedophilia and worse, photographed or filmed–that’s how Hunter S. Thomson rose up the ladder, making snuff films starring prominent politicians–it’s one of the functions of the Bohemian Grove, to get all the busy bees into compromising situations–they throw all their cares away, remember?).

People who follow MSM investments and advice will get screwed again when this market goes down. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. I remember mid-summer early fall 2007 when MSM and government officials were chattin about how strong the economy was and how it had perfect fundamentals (Bernanke infamous quote)
@dan valley – re: the next bottom in gold; ugh, I don’t know as I don’t read charts; when I find a good article that gives a number, I will post it for you; but I would suspect that it won’t go below $1000 before April 2010; I can’t recall seeing any 20% corrections at this time of the year; there have been one or two 50% corrections, but those happened between April/May and August; so if gold is at $1400 by April/May, then a 50% correction would be $700 . . . but, again, I don’t do charts, so take this with a grain of salt . . . or a shot of whiskey
@Bonn … MSNBC / From Global warming –> Climate change –> Earth could plunge into sudden ice age
Yes, volatility in the climatic cycles could cause such an action ; especially if the Gulf Stream pump stops suddenly.
One can just hope it doesn’t happen too soon.

O´ mama: Alfred Nobel stated that the ones who should be awarded the prize should be those “who have worked most or best for the people’s brotherhood and the abolition or reduction of standing armies”.
Considering how relatively isolated N Korea is from the world economy, you would think that the country should not be having any problems.
However, this only seems to apply best to the more tropical Cuba.
As Korea has had many eras of two kingdoms, it will be interesting to see who ends up being better off in the long run. North Korea was traditionally the winner in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
Good article if you haven’t read it already. As the famous Kahn Noonien Singh [Racardo Mantalban] said on Star Trek, “I grow fatigued.”
I myself grow fatigued of all this crap and probably should take a vacation somewhere where there is no TV or internet. Just invest some gold profits in some fun.
With all this stuff, there is no way gold will ever go down again.

Report From The Future: Dateline – World Financial Center
As many will remember it was only a few years ago that 10 members of this sleepy, little Mississippi town pooled their gold coins and purchased New York City and had it moved their to area be the new financial capital of the world.
As NYC long ago became bankrupt it agreed immediately to the deal. Most of the current new residents are prospering as they now work for the most successful brokerage company in the world: Brooks, Dunn & Larry.
This firms fortune was made and continues to make markets primarily in Pork Bellies, Cotton and Gold. Most are happy working for their new employer although they complain that the only radio station in town is the clear-channel: All George Jones All The Time – 1 billion watt powerhouse.
In market trading today gold rose for the 5, 357th straight day to yet another record close of $138, 595.42 the ounce.
@wl – I left a comment a while back on Taibbi’s blog about Froman. I’ll have to email him and see if that had anything to do with his research. He’ll probably say it wasn’t. I have had an email exchange with him before. Anyway, here is the link to the comment…
He also mentions Michael Froman in that article. Froman is interesting because he has worked for former Goldman Sachs CEO Robert Rubin. He also knew Obama from working on the Harvard Law Review. According to Cockburn, Froman introduced Obama to Rubin. That’s interesting because that may have been the beginning of the Obama-GoldmanSachs connection. It’s no secret that GS was one of Obama’s biggest political campaign contributors early on.
[...]
Froman’s current position is Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economic Affairs. According to the “Who Runs Gov” website Froman hooked up with Obama back in 2004 when he was running for the Illinois Senate. I guess when you’ve been around that long you get paid off with two jobs instead of one.
“In 2004, Froman heard his long-lost buddy was planning to run for the Illinois Senate. Froman called up Obama and offered his help, which Obama accepted.
The offer of assistance would continue throughout the 2008 presidential campaign, as the Citigroup manager had a long list of New York finance friends who would be willing to part with some cash for the right cause. Froman helped to get Obama in the door, and even persuaded certain financiers, who had strong ties in the community, to support Obama.”
hey, as long as the big wig ivy leaguers have control of the corporate empire and rape us for everything why should we average peons worry about it. Its all good. They’re filthy rich off the sweat of the average working person. Just like our fathers had. Its hereditary or just the way its supposed to be.
“A controversial bill to create a vast and duplicative regulatory agency that would stifle business lending cleared its final committee hurdle this week and is heading to the House floor. The U.S. Chamber is calling on its grassroots network to get involved in stopping the bill.
More than 200 small businesses owners and local chamber representatives participated in an October 29 conference call to discuss the unintended consequences of the Consumer Financial Protection Act (CFPA), which was passed by the House Energy and Commerce Committee on October 23. The Chamber opposes the bill because it would create a monster regulator with ill-defined, sweeping powers and responsibilities and without the appropriate checks and balances.”
“The goal of the CFPA legislation is to address the flaws in the regulatory architecture that have inhibited effective responses to the substantive problems, rather than mandate specific new substantive consumer protection laws.”
This is about regulatory architecture not consumer protection of the middle class!
That’s what I’ve been saying is the Elite’s goal. It’s no coincidence that this is happening. The Middle Class was placated by cheap trinkets from China. So that they didn’t realize that inflation was rising and their standard of living was evaporating. Look at the cost of a College Education, for example.
The financial crisis, free trade, WTO are all part of it.
@Mep:
Warren is trying to sell this:
Consumer Financial Protection Agency (CFPA)
The middle class part was to draw us all in for the sell.
I don’t believe that new agency will bring roses and daffodils for the common man. The agencies that are meant to protect against fraud are actually the failsafe for the fraud. This one sounds like a different beast though.
Death pathway. You know it’s coming. An ideal UN citizen is a good producer and consumer. Does that mean anyone else is unsustainable? Someone remarked that designs for Disney towns only accommodated working people.
@ snoots….humanity isnt worth what we think it is…its always developing…in order to do so you need endurance…cause you will never completely overcome…overcome obstacles or lies…thus as I stated before endurance is more important than truth or victory.
We have to use discernment. It takes time. And while we’re scurrying around looking for nuggets, the machine rolls on.
That link is from Alan Watt’s site. AW (who’s address seems to be on or adjacent to a NORAD facility) tries to give the big picture. He shot himself in the foot years ago by not crediting Glen Kealey as the source of his printed material. Glen Kealey borrowed liberally from other sources that he didn’t credit, so he’s not complaining. The most interesting sources were a couple of Freemasonic sci-fi writers who trotted out a lot of useful rarely exposed stuff mixed up with mole people and troglodytes.
“Pyongyang is a test zone for how people will react to this same thing (currency devaluation) in other countries. TPB, use human guinea pigs as labratory test subjects all the time.”
Correction:
In a previous post I said Queen Victoria was 3/4 Rothschild. Incorrect. Her children were 3/4 Rothschild. Some if not all of the progeny had the same father and grandfather, thus the typical inbreeding defects. (Her stud might have faked his own death and continued the same breeding program; Greg Hallet talks about all that.) Albert had no children with his mistress; he was infertile.
Slowly they’re leaking info about themselves, although maintaining some of the Big Lies. They seem to be trying to convince the public that they have a divine right to rule (through vehicles such as “The DaVinci Code”, Sitchin’s phony works, talk shows and books pushing New Age alien stuff).
Curious how they’ve declassified the fact that Mussolini and Hitler were British Agents. It’ll be interesting how they spin it over the next few years.
Then you’d have anger and hope which about the way things are really. Anger would extinguish hope who would end up sobbing it out in a darkened room somewhere whilst anger went on pillaging.
I mean really. Hope should never have named her daughters that!
@frances – I wonder what Obama will say in his Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech.
I chose to run for the presidency at this moment in history because I believe deeply that we cannot solve the challenges of our time unless we solve them together – unless we perfect our union by understanding that we may have different stories, but we hold common hopes; that we may not look the same and we may not have come from the same place, but we all want to move in the same direction – towards a better future for our children and our grandchildren.
Hope has two beautiful daughters. Their names are anger and courage; anger at the way things are, and courage to see that they do not remain the way they are.
@DanValley:
Faulkner has some good points in the speech about humans. He’s right about the writing bit: look at how Shakespeare is still so relevent today.
Pyongyang is a test zone for how people will react to this same thing (currency devaluation) in other countries. TPB, use human guinea pigs as labratory test subjects all the time.
@DanValley:
I liked the bit about “I decline to accept the end of man”. And it is not that easy to write noble speeches: you try it.
Personally, though, I am not that sappy. And Faulkner usually isn’t, but he said he would never write a speech and then did. We should stick to our convictions.
“That Muslims are the latest group to be chosen as scapegoats so they can be detained, dehumanized, demonized, and exterminated.”
I thought it was something like that. This implies that society has a need for such a group. Perhaps as a unifying force. A common enemy.
In US history we have had Indians, Blacks, Nazis, Communists. Then briefly Hispanic Drug Dealers. And most recently Muslims.
I guess society always needs some group to blame for its problems. And someone lower down on the totem pole to turn around and kick when we have been kicked by the person above us.
“I feel that this award was not made to me as a man, but to my work–a life’s work in the agony and sweat of the human spirit, not for glory and least of all for profit, but to create out of the materials of the human spirit something which did not exist before. So this award is only mine in trust. It will not be difficult to find a dedication for the money part of it commensurate with the purpose and significance of its origin. But I would like to do the same with the acclaim too, by using this moment as a pinnacle from which I might be listened to by the young men and women already dedicated to the same anguish and travail, among whom is already that one who will some day stand where I am standing.
Our tragedy today is a general and universal physical fear so long sustained by now that we can even bear it. There are no longer problems of the spirit. There is only one question: When will I be blown up? Because of this, the young man or woman writing today has forgotten the problems of the human heart in conflict with itself which alone can make good writing because only that is worth writing about, worth the agony and the sweat. He must learn them again. He must teach himself that the basest of all things is to be afraid: and, teaching himself that, forget it forever, leaving no room in his workshop for anything but the old verities and truths of the heart, the universal truths lacking which any story is ephemeral and doomed–love and honor and pity and pride and compassion and sacrifice. Until he does so, he labors under a curse. He writes not of love but of lust, of defeats in which nobody loses anything of value, and victories without hope and worst of all, without pity or compassion. His griefs grieve on no universal bones, leaving no scars. He writes not of the heart but of the glands.
Until he learns these things, he will write as though he stood among and watched the end of man. I decline to accept the end of man. It is easy enough to say that man is immortal because he will endure: that when the last ding-dong of doom has clanged and faded from the last worthless rock hanging tideless in the last red and dying evening, that even then there will still be one more sound: that of his puny inexhaustible voice, still talking. I refuse to accept this. I believe that man will not merely endure: he will prevail. He is immortal, not because he alone among creatures has an inexhaustible voice, but because he has a soul, a spirit capable of compassion and sacrifice and endurance. The poet’s, the writer’s, duty is to write about these things. It is his privilege to help man endure by lifting his heart, by reminding him of the courage and honor and hope and pride and compassion and pity and sacrifice which have been the glory of his past. The poet’s voice need not merely be the record of man, it can be one of the props, the pillars to help him endure and prevail.”
@frances – thanks for the chinese pearls of wisdom
I am long on hope. But that is a very long term investment strategy. I expect lots of volatility between now and 2012. The trend in the last few decades has been down, but I think we are close to reaching a bottom. There was a brief rally of hope in 2008 associated with Obama’s Presidential candidacy, but that has dissipated. There is lots of upward resistance at this time.
The good news is that unlike oil, there will never be peak hope – because “hope springs eternal”.
The rumor is that Hope will be featured in the new Paris fashion collections this Spring.
Hope which was once thought to be extinct, was spotted briefly by an expedition in the Amazon.
A recent space probe detected underground Hope in the polar caps of Mars, from which some scientists have concluded that there once was intelligent life on the Red Planet.
A new source of energy has been discovered by scientists in Russia. In an article in the Russian Journal of Science they describe how they have successfully fused Hope and Love, resulting in a large release of energy. They also claim to have created a micro black hole in the process although this has not been confirmed by other scientists.
@Photoception:
Yes. Could you tell me about when you saw the tanager? You should link some more of your photos!
I loved robins in England! On Kauai we saw rare birds in the Alakai swamp that are found nowhere else. I never have seen a tanager, though. Here is Florida we have Everglades birds with backward tread to their walk. They look primordial!
Perhaps a new world currency could be introduced via a pegging of all existing currencies. That way people would, at least for a while, be spending currency they are used to, and acceptance would be more forthcoming.
@Frank:
Yes. Well. It was meant to be a proverb about a chicken carrying a sack of gold and clucking about riches and then being hit by a San Francisco street car and dying a painful and agonized death with the gold hanging about its neck.
The moral punch in Chinese was something like hang your hopes on that which one doesn’t have to lug about and protect from robbers, or something. But I’m not long hope anyway.
I guess you are (longhope) since your name is Hope.
There are 1 hour speeches by Kinsella and Hoppe that I think will change the way any sane minarchist (is that a contradiction?) thinks forever.
Hans Hoppe – Protection and the Market for Security
Stephen Kinsella – The Intellectual Property Racket
Despite the names, these are 2 powerful cases for anti-minarchy, and ultimately for anarchy.
That’s interesting. What do you use to chart the dollar? I was going to say that it was because after New York closes, than the dominant traders are in the Far East. And that India and China are driving up the price of Gold.
@sklein – 1970 is around the time I attribute as the start of this conspiracy by the Elite to sell out the American middle class. The catalyst was the pending death of Mao. That was the time when Kissinger (Rockefeller acolyte) secretly visited China and soon after Nixon struck a deal with Mao. This was “the other Great Game” – scrambling for control of a crumbling China. Most people here are already familiar with my articles on this subject, but I don’t know if you are. So here are the links again.
@california doctor – I agree that 1200 is not a ceiling. Gold looks like it wants to keep rising. It is like a juggernaut that keeps running into a brick wall. It smashed through one wall only to run into another wall behind it.
The first wall was 1000, then 1100, then 1200. Currently it has run into a wall at 1215. That’s where the enemy army has amassed and is putting up a heavy resistance. I expect Gold to smash through this line of infantry as well. I don’t know when it will finally run out of steam at this point.
we have ruined the best 3 swamps around stratford ontario canada. mike harris doubled the chlorine in our water over walkerton. this shit is bad. yes we are frigin up the planet. but the tax will be stolen. frickin cork suckers.
New Book – The Israel Lobby
John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt
… A key pillar of the Lobby’s effectiveness is its influence in Congress, where Israel is virtually immune from criticism. This in itself is remarkable, because Congress rarely shies away from contentious issues. Where Israel is concerned, however, potential critics fall silent. One reason is that some key members are Christian Zionists like Dick Armey, who said in September 2002: ‘My No. 1 priority in foreign policy is to protect Israel.’ One might think that the No. 1 priority for any congressman would be to protect America. There are also Jewish senators and congressmen who work to ensure that US foreign policy supports Israel’s interests….

@Mike/Liverpool … Holy Sh*t ! The Borad of RBS say they ALL RESIGN en MASS if they are not paid their “Bonuses in full!
LOL … my sister that bought UK Savings bonds when gold was 15000GBP ( against my advice ) is a friend of a new RBS board director. I wonder if she got her advice from him ? I guess he’ll be leaving soon !
They all threaten to quit on Mass? are they jokers or somthing? that would be the greatest blessing for the world to have leechers out of action for any amount of time.

China buying gold with U.S. dollars just devalues there enormous reserve holdings of dollars further. — What is really to watch is how they get out of this trap by(what is currently being postured) – financing 3rd world countries to buy their exports – to pay back at a a later date.
It must really suck to have your money become worthless in 72 hours….especially when the government tells you that you’re worth $50 now…not a millionaire in local currency.
It will also suck to be a USD millionaire if the US gov’t defaults on debt payments.
@Mike – In your dreams that the PRC is halting on purchase of gold. They’re likely to be buying gold with USD and UKPounds.
I see no ceiling at 1200. The immediate curve is on a parabolic rise and has a bottom already in the high 1100′s. This curve is consistent with a constant depreciation of the USD, Euro, Yen, and UK Pound against the gold.
“…There is a cap of 100,000 won (£419) per family, which means that anyone with significant holdings of cash will have their savings wiped out…”
Gosh – I guess Gold owners breathe a sigh of relief when that news hit the public as they don’t risk loosing everything (if they can keep it secret that is).
A textbook example of why Gold, Silver or any other precious metal is so important to have.
Marc Faber says; says people should buy a little bit gold every month and become their own central bank.
I have seen some scoundrels in my day, but none smoother than Mr. Barack Obama – our President. It used to be when it was time to go to war, why we would just fire up the bands and make some big speeches about how our boys were going to whoop their boys and not make any bones about it. And we’d be sure to say that God was on our side, ’cause that made all the mothers feel better.
But nowadays I see you got this newfangled television thing and the President gets on and he’s not talking about blowing them to smithereens. He’s talking about how we’re doin’ it all for their own sakes. Well come to think of it, I heard much the same speech when they were sending the boys to the Philippines to kill the natives over there.
It is almost 300 billion US$ in two different attempts of Bond Smuggling!!
Not exactly fresh news, though, the last arrest was in september.
There is one thing that is really critical !!
Among the two there was 55 years old Akihiko Yamaguchi is part of Tokyio Toshiro Muto (BoJ vice-governor) who resigned in the aftermath of the scandal.
@sklein – that is quite a quote from ZB. He is basically admitting the agenda of the David Rockefeller led wing of the Elite in open public. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this quote before, but it reflects perfectly what I think is happening in the world today. Thanks for sharing.
@ Phil – He’s going to teach in HS? That creep does not belong around kids! Plenty of actual teachers are out of work now. Price should leave the country and stay gone.
Re: the CIA; that’s interesting. So now our CIA needs to have a private militia working alongside it? That’s why we’re being lied to about Blackwater/Xe’s presence in Pakistan–because they ARE there, only they’re considered as covert as the CIA and JSOC:
Why the fuss about Iraq. I mean it is a sovereign state is it not.
If on the other hand a advanced Europeon state such as Norway or even Ireland were to convert its pension fund to gold bullion that would be acceptable, right.
“Today we are again witnessing the emergence of transnational elites … [Whose] ties cut across national boundaries …It is likely that before long the social elites of most of the more advanced countries will be highly internationalist or globalist in spirit and outlook … The nation-state is gradually yielding its sovereignty… Further progress will require greater American sacrifices. More intensive efforts to shape a new world monetary structure will have to be undertaken, with some consequent risk to the present relatively favorable American position.”
@ North Korea . . . holy crap!!! Those poor freaking people. They can’t make any transactions for a week and they’re going to have their savings wiped out if they have more cash than the cap? Wow.
I dont know much about North Korea thier financial system but why is this story not such a big deal? Was their system already tiny and irrelevant that 100:1 devaluation and no cash purchases literally make no difference or what?
Otherwise isnt it major news? shouldnt they be rioting.

Ah, so we do see eye to eye on something!

Great article by Elizabeth Warren, Mep. Thanks

@wl – I left a comment a while back on Taibbi’s blog about Froman. I’ll have to email him and see if that had anything to do with his research. He’ll probably say it wasn’t. I have had an email exchange with him before. Anyway, here is the link to the comment…
My comment on Taibbi’s blog
The Chamber opposes the bill because it would create a monster regulator with ill-defined, sweeping powers and responsibilities and without the appropriate checks and balances.”
http://www.uschambermagazine.com/article/chamber-calls-on-members-to-oppose-cfpa-bill
The CFPA bill tootled by Warren is being called a monster which would cut off funding for independent business!
“The goal of the CFPA legislation is to address the flaws in the regulatory architecture that have inhibited effective responses to the substantive problems, rather than mandate specific new substantive consumer protection laws.”
This is about regulatory architecture not consumer protection of the middle class!

@Mep – America Without A Middle Class.
@Mep:
Scrap that idea!
A fantastic piece by Elizabeth Warren: America Without A Middle Class.

- Barack Obama

Pyongyang is a test zone for how people will react to this same thing (currency devaluation) in other countries. TPB, use human guinea pigs as labratory test subjects all the time.
@DanValley:

@ Snoot…on faulkner….and jesus wept.
Faulkner on Acceptance of the Nobel Prize:

I am a gold bug and a hope fool.

Yes.

Stephen Kinsella – The Intellectual Property Racket

It happens often .. my guess is you probably only looked recently because of “suddenly” watching the high gold price !
Go Team Gold!

… is awaiting moderation !

China buying gold with U.S. dollars just devalues there enormous reserve holdings of dollars further. — What is really to watch is how they get out of this trap by(what is currently being postured) – financing 3rd world countries to buy their exports – to pay back at a a later date.

This one is compendium of all of my comments regarding the speech right here on MaxKeiser.com.
Live response to Obama’s Afghanistan speech
This other one is me speaking as Mark Twain.
Mark Twain responds to President Obama on Afghanistan
