Here’s a LONG interview with Geithner. Worth a listen. Says federal spending will be reigned in by 2011.
He was asked about the dollar. He actually said that flight into the dollar during the beginning of the crisis shows ” the strength of the dollar,” and now there is confidence that we are recovering and so that’s why money is moving out of the dollar and into the markets! doesn’t say anything about gold…

I have a friend who just sent me this letter which he is sending to Hope Now. Some people may be indifferent to situations like these but given ALL the $ that has been spent to sustain certain groups you would at least hope (no pun intended), ordinary citizens might be eligible for help. At least by posting it, we can see and share anecdotal notes on what is happening and endured in the real world and not the “rose colored views” of cnbs and other state controlled media outlets. By the way, I think this is jpm’s company….does anyone think this is help or a push out of a problem?
Do the banksters get their bonuses this year or in 40 years?
I told him the whole situation reminds of this scene which I think not only replicates his problem but the average family’s as well…bet you did not realize Sonny just got off the phone and found out his trial mortgage had just been denied, the regulator (SEC, FDIC, Treasury, FHA, take your pick or add) is basically the guy that turns a blind eye and shuts the window on him, and you know the rest (these are the guys who just got gun permits in NYC)…WARNING NOT FOR THE squeamish.

Elliott Broidy, a California money manager and Republican fundraiser, admitted that he made nearly $1 million in payoffs to four senior New York state officials while pursuing an investment from the state public pension fund, according to New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.
Mr. Broidy pleaded guilty on Thursday to the felony charge of rewarding official misconduct, and is cooperating with the attorney general’s pay-to-play probe concerning the fund, the attorney general said.
While much of the attorney general’s long-running investigation has focused on the role of placement agents, Mr. Cuomo said Mr. Broidy’s actions didn’t involve these financial middlemen that help money managers obtain lucrative assignments investing pension money.
“This is an old-fashioned case of payoffs to state officials,” he said. “This case is effectively bribery of state officials.”
Mr. Broidy’s plea marks the fifth criminal plea in the investigation. The probe has focused on whether decisions about how to invest retirees’ money in the giant pension fund were wrongly influenced by money and politics.
A spokesman for Mr. Broidy said in a prepared statement: “Mr. Broidy regrets the actions that brought about this course of events, but is pleased to have resolved this matter with the NYAG and will be cooperating in the ongoing investigation.”

Figure out how the international monetary system operates in currency trades and flows: the dollar index value basket (reasons for the countries in the basket), the sdrs,(who has access to sdr now, and what countries are represented in the basket and why), the imf/bis banking conglomerate. See what Stiglitz has to say about what is desired for a new international monetary financial system. Read Chinese central bank chief Zhou’s essay on reforming the international monetary system: March 2009 BIS site. Study Bretton Woods and the reform coming out of the EU/ECB bank: what is desired for cross-border currency regulatory flows. (International Clearing Union)
Then you can tell me.
You’ve been holding your breath and looking into an aquarium. The fish in the tank you are peering at are just about to go belly up. Then there are the politico fishies. Grayson and Schiff are bottom feeders. Paul is a jellyfish. Kaptur is a lovely coral eater. These special fish will have a nice new aquarium in which to cavort about.
What makes Christianity different from Islam. Rhetoric. Both religions subjugate women and castrate human agency. What makes the ‘good’ politicians different from the ‘bad’ ones? Rhetoric. They are all working to strengthen the banking arm of the G20: the IMF/BIS. They know that to survive them must adapt their language to suit their “constituents”. Words alone belie their true intention.
How is this possible, Bonn? The only way one could do this is to set aside forever the currency which has the corrupting and corrupted influence over us all. Is that feasible?
@Frances,.His non-involvement idea is right up my alley,..
I realized a long time ago, it’s a very very complex game, so to watch from the sidelines is quite the good strategy.
(Don’t tell anyone though, they’ll think you’re crazy), as Bonn has already elaborated on. : )
“This is the ticking time bomb Prime Minister Stephen Harper has tossed at the Canadian taxpayer. Why? So that he can maintain the fiction that he is a good economic manager and win a majority in the next election.”
I was just honestly wishing everyone well, but it seems as though any time i post, someone jumps down my throat. I really cant’ figure you guys out.
And if you guys are observers with no trust in anything, why would you even care what I do?
@dedo
you probably didn’t read the earlier post. I just wished everyone a happy holiday cuz it’s snowing and someone took umbrage because thousands are going to die when ever armagedon starts. It doesn’t bother me per se but i just find it curious.
@Marietta:
I have been called a religitard, told to kiss ass, told I shit on everyone’s posts, told I have no respect, told I perhaps dabble is snarky behaviour, and told not to look too closely at my leotard as I was sporting a hole in an embarrassing place.
I assume that “you guys” refers to me as well, so I will add jumping down throats to the list.
Is provoking someone to thought now a crime? Are the ‘good guys’ beyond words but dwell in some emphemeral region of kind thoughts and kinder actions? Are we talking about human beings or angels?
Personally, I don’t object to you trusting whomever you desire to trust, Marietta. But you are a Canadian citizen, so I thought you might like some perspective from someone who has lived under these rogues for a lifetime. I felt I had vested interest in other nations claiming for heroes the ones deceiving the common American people for personal gain, being as I’m an American. That is why I ‘cared’.
As far as trust: your admonition that “we” trust in nothing must apply mostly to me as I’m as far untrusting as one might venture. I think trust is too readily given to those with whom one has no personal access. People have been thrust forward as cult figures and as such are no longer human but divine. And no one learns a thing! Obama disappoints, so a new puppet is thrust forward!
Yesterday, I took offense to Wallace’s use of an essay to sell a Congressional bill. Instead of discussing the bill at the heart of the essay, the discussion revolved around how ‘phenomenol’ Wallace was and what truth there were to her words. The bill itself will decimate the middle class, but never mind. I was at fault for not TRUSTING.
When someone is leading you up a ramp with a cattle prod, and the bleeting noises that fill your ears are the sounds of your fellow sufferers, then one puts trust aside and relies upon sagacity or common sense. Believe me, once the door of the car slams shut it won’t matter WHOM we trust. even god.
Wiegand, I simply do not agree the Asian countries are in trouble. Only if the honour their fraudulent entanglements with the west. That will soon end according to Denninger..
If I where a Goldman guy I’d take a leave of absence.
holidays don’t mean much to me, but this the time of year when things wrap up and begin anew, so it seems. I’d like to spread the love in this planet as well, so I’m going to buy a plant to take care of. I have no plants. It’s a small thing. But it’s a step closer to my ideal of bringin some loving here today.
I hope that feeling is something we can all pass around.
@ frances
And I didn’t include you in the jumping down throats. was trying to generalize to not point out individuals but you seem to take things a lot more personally than most.
And i’m not canadian
White hunter thought that the mention of Ayn Rand would cause someone to jump down someones throat. So I though I might as well fulfill the prediction.
Apple announced today that it has developed a breast implant that can store and play music. The iTit will cost from $499 to $699, depending on cup and speaker size. This is considered a major social breakthrough, because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.
Sorry but I couldn’t help myself, the devil made me do to.
@Gordo,..Most folk who are passionate about their beliefs usually are,..isn’t that right Frances !! : )
@WL,…LOL I like it,..Ayn Rand plus Keyser soze = Frances Snoot,..lol
He seems credible. So I looked him up and found his website. Here’s an excerpt from his latest article.
We are predicting a very damaging year in 2010 for both stocks and bonds. One of the big questions is the implementation of Basil II and III and the FASB. If their stricter accounting practices are enforced the corporate world is in for a heap of trouble.
I think he would make a good guest for Max and Stacy.
BTW, I didn’t have a chance to congratulate them on their latest program with Matt Taibbi on Russia Today. I thought it was a great show and the best interview with Matt that I have seen. Max is really improving in his interviewing skills.
@marietta – snow! I’m so jealous; I haven’t seen snow, proper snow anyway, in many years; London only ever got a few flakes and Paris gets a few flakes more, but nothing that sticks for more than an hour or two; I miss those foot deep snow mornings in Connecticut
@ Frances
I don’t know. I live in the most politically corrupt state in the US so I do know what its like.
@WL
It wasn’t an attack. (this is how the rhetoric gets ratcheted up!) Someone was agitated and took offense to some good cheer. that’s all
I wouldn’t say i take things personally. I’d say i’m more baffled than anything. I honestly cant understand how things i say are interpreted.
“I took my dog for a walk.”
now here comes a diatribe about IMF sdrs !
yes, the impersonal nature of the interweb, I am never sure when people are serious or attempting intellectual yoga exposing a rather embarrassing hole in their leotard
@Stacy I got a wacky idea, why don’t you post one pic from each of us taken outside to represent the holiday season from all over the world, gives a sense of humanity to the the cold digital world
@frances
I wouldn’[t be able to contribute to campaigns if I were a Canadian. (I’d have to find some chinese guy to bundle them for me and pass them off under the table)*
*reference to Clinton era campaign funding scandals. Not an ethnic slur!
@Chalcedonite – in CT, we’d wake up after a snowstorm and the roads would still not have been plowed; and it was like a winter wonderland; the trees would be hanging down over the roads heavy with ice, it was so beautiful . . . of course, then when it turns to slush . . . ugh . . .
@Phil – oh no! don’t get Mike/Liverpool’s hopes up!
In 1990 it was decided that in order to keep the system from collapsing, derivatives would be created, as an adjunct to what we now call quantitative easing, a creation of the Federal Reserve. This is another reason why the Fed and its fellow elitists do not want HR 1207 and S604 passed. It will expose the giant Ponzi scheme they have created in partnership with Fed shareholders JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and others. The edifice is a house of cards. Professionals do not understand how important it is for the Fed to be terminated. It is the core of central control of not only the US economy, but also those of many other nations. Its demise will give America the opportunity to begin a new system not controlled by moneychangers.
@frances – My fault? No my dear, you are quite capable of bringing this on yourself without any help from me. Try engaging in true dialogue instead of a confrontational debating style. My own approach is to try to start from points of agreement. You’re obviously very intelligent, but you sometimes manage to turn that strength into a weakness.
@WL:
No. I live in a cave with the other religitards. But we send one out occasionally for a weather look-see. If he comes in sans leotard, then it’s hot. If he doesn’t return, then there’s wind. If he returns with more religitards then we all sit around a pass the latest diatribe about sdrs.
If you want to know what Florida looks like, buy a postcard.
@Stacy … Geza added: “If this all works out it will certainly make up for the life we have had until now – all we really had was each other - no women would look at us living in a cave.
Priceless !
The guys just inherit Billions, and the first thing on their mind is women !
@Frank .. Job Numbers tomorrow.
I guess some people are being cautious !
@AHHH. Snootville. Yes, well, I’ll send some descriptive posts. Stella lives there with Buster and BillyBob and Cleetus and Ma and Pa and Pastor Bud and the hawgs.
We religitards often interact with them. They call us the ‘greys’ for some reason, and Ma gave us some dandeelion wine once’cet.
Snootville sets up back from the railroad tracks bout thirty-some spittin’ yards.
I remember watching Bunning play baseball. Bunning pitched in the Major Leagues for 17 seasons, most notably with the Detroit Tigers and the Philadelphia Phillies. When he retired, he had the second-highest total of career strikeouts in Major League history; he is currently 17th. Bunning pitched a perfect game in 1964, a feat that has been accomplished only eighteen times in Major League history. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996.
Today he tossed another perfect game!
WAY TO GO JIM!!
@frances snoot – lol, I looked EXACTLY like my 95 year old great grandmother, Impi from Finland; there is a series of three pictures in this strand, my face is first in total shock, eyes wide open at the flash going off and then obviously I crunched my face up as the light had blinded me
I just got a tweet from Jeremy Scahill that he will be on Rachel Maddow tonight to discuss Erik Prick (nee Prince). This will be very interesting because Maddow did an excellent show the other night following Obama’s speech. But the one connection she missed was the JSOC connection. She kept talking about the CIA. But the CIA is passé.
Here is her critique of Obama. Her main point is that Obama has adopted the Bush Doctrine.
@all so much to read & watch this fine morning @marietta no snow here 8:00am in morning and 30C, rarely is any different, I have seen snow a couple of times whilst overseas.
@Frances, I’m planning a barbee next weekend, why don’t get a crew together and sail across the pond…
Also Frances sometimes you use words that I have to google to see what they mean, we had really bad english teachers at school.
When I look at my puppy it’s like looking at a reflection of me, so my pic is already posted.
@WL:
We have hawks here in great number. Owls are rare, but they do exist. Once I was camping near the piney forest and heard the whooo whooowhooo whooo.
And to think they swallow the mice whole and then the fur,bones,and tail (I assume the tail) comes up later!
“A clue to the presence of a roosting owl are the white splashes and pellets on the base of a tree and the ground.
A well known characteristic of owls is their habit of regurgitating a pellet after a meal. Opening a pellet is an interesting exercise, and is a good way to determine the identity of the prey by the bones contained in the pellet.”
They are amazing, we have lots of birds of prey around here. A very large Owl landed on our roof at dusk with its sight set on Meoww Tse Tongue, In flight that thing was dead silent. I had to leap into action and Moeww inside. We have had Bald Eagles land 10 ft from our house trying to get fish in our pond.

Believe me, once the door of the car slams shut it won’t matter WHOM we trust. even god.
@frances
do you have a hard time getting a date?
@Gordo,…Ayn Rand, bitch,…how come?
@marietta,..you’ll always find folk disagreeable !
@Frank,…I hate these “special” days put aside for us to celebrate,..don’t you?
I celebrate every time I wake up! : )
@ dedo
Yes, i know.

Wiegand, I simply do not agree the Asian countries are in trouble. Only if the honour their fraudulent entanglements with the west. That will soon end according to Denninger..
If I where a Goldman guy I’d take a leave of absence.
Haven’t you guys figured it out frances snoot is Ayn Rand and Keyser Söze
holidays don’t mean much to me, but this the time of year when things wrap up and begin anew, so it seems.
@Dedo
White hunter thought that the mention of Ayn Rand would cause someone to jump down someones throat. So I though I might as well fulfill the prediction.
She is also very extremist in her views.
Trust has been affected by global warming, for it is melting away.
@frances
Yes just because someone lives in Chicago does not make them Canadian.
serotonin imbalance
@Marietta:
No, I’m rather the slut.
@Dedo:
Franky say “roger”.
@Gordo:
NOW you tell me.
@Marietta:
Why do you seem Canadian?
@Gordo,..Most folk who are passionate about their beliefs usually are,..isn’t that right Frances !! : )
@WL,…LOL I like it,..Ayn Rand plus Keyser soze = Frances Snoot,..lol
Why must we use labels, are we not citizens of our own consciousness
@marietta
Who attacked you, we should go beat em up
@ Jeemobon

Apple may offer an ” iVibe” for women whom don’t care if men are listening to them.
@all – Max Power put up a link recently to a video by Bob Chapman titled US Dollar Will Collapse at end of 2010.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn94OzLerVo
@Jim ODonnell
Any more like that and I am going to need an new iHeart.
Good One.
@marietta – snow! I’m so jealous; I haven’t seen snow, proper snow anyway, in many years; London only ever got a few flakes and Paris gets a few flakes more, but nothing that sticks for more than an hour or two; I miss those foot deep snow mornings in Connecticut
but you seem to take things a lot more personally than most
Does that mean I’m not a snarky religitard?! Goody!?
@FrankyHopes:
This is your fault for introducing Hope and Anger in one sentence.
@ Frances
I don’t know. I live in the most politically corrupt state in the US so I do know what its like.
@WL
It wasn’t an attack. (this is how the rhetoric gets ratcheted up!) Someone was agitated and took offense to some good cheer. that’s all
@WL,…LOL I like it,..Ayn Rand plus Keyser soze = Frances Snoot,..lol
@Mr. Dedo:

The above was an answer to the canadian question
@Marietta:
You are vying for the title taken by Florida the last three seasons running!

Need Real Player for this gem. It is called the iGod and is a skit from the Royal Canadian Air Farce which is not on the air on the CBC anymore.
I will sign off saying, “I’m Mike From Canmore.”
I wouldn’t say i take things personally. I’d say i’m more baffled than anything. I honestly cant understand how things i say are interpreted.
“I took my dog for a walk.”
now here comes a diatribe about IMF sdrs !
again, a joke!
@ Phil one for you stumbled across….there may be nothing in it.

yes, the impersonal nature of the interweb, I am never sure when people are serious or attempting intellectual yoga exposing a rather embarrassing hole in their leotard
@Stacy I got a wacky idea, why don’t you post one pic from each of us taken outside to represent the holiday season from all over the world, gives a sense of humanity to the the cold digital world
No snow here yet, except up on the mountains
@stacy
Snow, it makes the dark winter bright! Ireland doesn’t get much snow either.
Here it is …

“Senator Bunning Grills Bernanke To A Crisp”
Well, Dedo. Looks like you have another hotdog to add to your collection.
@Chalcie:
You’re not from Chicago, are you?
@Chalcedonite – in CT, we’d wake up after a snowstorm and the roads would still not have been plowed; and it was like a winter wonderland; the trees would be hanging down over the roads heavy with ice, it was so beautiful . . . of course, then when it turns to slush . . . ugh . . .
@Phil – oh no! don’t get Mike/Liverpool’s hopes up!
@WL – send me the photos I will post . . .
@frances
Do you think I scared Bonn away?
“I am never sure when people are serious or attempting intellectual yoga exposing a rather embarrassing hole in their leotard”
Germans have it right. They just do the yoga in the nude. Solves a lot of difficulties.
@Marietta:
NO! Bonn is only scared of really snarky people.
@marietta – @bonn is in India, it’s 2 am there, maybe he’s asleep?
@stacy
how would we send photos to you?
OK to send to Presstv email?
@marietta – you can send it to me at stacy at maxkeiser dot com
@stacy
Jim Bunning blasted Bernanke! And what he said was spot on! I love the picture of a dejected liar, unfortunately, a bigger liar will be re-confirmed…
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/03/senator-to-fed-chair-bern_n_378673.html
@Mother Earth
I think that Denninger is underestimating the will of the Fed/US gov to prolong and kick the can down the road so to speak.
@all – I forgot to give a link to Bob Chapman’s site. It’s called the International Forecaster.
http://theinternationalforecaster.com/International_Forecaster_Weekly/We_Are_Not_Yet_Buying_Into_The_Idea_Of_Recovery
Here’s another quote.
Everyone, send Stacy an interesting pic of your location during the holidays, snow or something representative
@frances you got a camera
@stacy
thanks
I didn’t know Bonn was from India.
For those that are interested in Sen. Bunning, he had more choice words about Bernanke:
http://www.cnbc.com/id/15840232?video=1349155126&play=1
@marietta – I’m not sure he is from there, but he does live in Bangalore
Mkt tanking … has Mr. B just finished his tea , oops I mean grill party ?
@WL:
@stacy – I just sent you an email. Please take a look and send me a reply when you get a chance. Thanks.
@frances snoot – you live in a cave? any relation? http://www.ananova.com/News/story/sm_3584037.html
@Phil – Oh wow! It’s taking a real nosedive. What did BB say? The HFT is kicking into high gear.
@frances
I know what Florida looks like, I wanna see a pic of Snootville, might explain some things or not
@Stacy … Geza added: “If this all works out it will certainly make up for the life we have had until now – all we really had was each other - no women would look at us living in a cave.
Priceless !
The guys just inherit Billions, and the first thing on their mind is women !
@Frank .. Job Numbers tomorrow.

@AHHH.
Stella? Like to cook? I luv this site … http://www.epicurious.com/video/80-global-dishes/80-dishes-hungary-veal-goulash/5544004001
@WOW
Stella wouldn’t cope, but the religitards are all cheering!
@Stacy:
Nice link for other cave dwellers gone lucky!
You look very cute in your avatar photo!!! Or is that your niece?
@frances snoot – that’s me at 4 years old, Coney Island
OMG STACY!!! You are so CUTE!
@WL:
One of the religitards super-admired your posts about the glories of life without social medicine, so he asked me to give you his photo:
http://www.norelpref.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/raygun.jpg
He said he’s super-keen to see you published.
Love your pic Stacy!!
@Stacy – Thanks for the reply. It’s good to know that I was able to play a small part in getting Matt on the show with you and Max.
Go Team!
@frances snoot – lol, I looked EXACTLY like my 95 year old great grandmother, Impi from Finland; there is a series of three pictures in this strand, my face is first in total shock, eyes wide open at the flash going off and then obviously I crunched my face up as the light had blinded me
@ snoot
Stella might like this tune.

I’m an expert on cute and that’s a cute kid.
Grandma Impi and you….imp…hmmmm…
sounds right!

This is a nice clinical wrap of the UK problems:

Thanks for that marietta!
@OP:
Thanks for the invite! Does cute pup get a nibble from the Barbie?
@frances
Just wanted to see the carcasses of pseudo intellectuals you have lured into your den for the night and discarded outside
@WL:
You’re welcome to visit any time you like! We religitards don’t discard the bodies: we gnaw.
@WL:
I have a feeling you’d be pretty safe, though, seeing your substance is sure right through, like in the olden days when one tested butter.
@frances

COOL!
WL, I’m sorry I linked an alien Reagan as your true fan.
well
NOT!
@WL:
@Frances,…..wow,.and wow again,..interesting analogy,..phew!, you surpass yourself!
@frances
