  1. @Marc…”The carbone madness has a hidden agenda. The agenda is to control indirectly energy”……………………………….. Energy that the developing world wil have access to cheaper than we will.

  2. youry, whats wrong with saving the planet? You dont plan to have children? What about thr rest of us.? should we just keep looting and polluting? BTW climate gate is a farce and big oil is behind it as usual.
Believe what you like. The ice caps and glaciers keep on melting.
More desertification is on going. More fires, etc. Dont let facts get in your way!.

  3. @Youri

I invented the news like Mr. Phil Jones fron the CRU in East Anglia with hid bogus warming data. I am quite tired by this global warming fraud and the Greens and their real bad science. Arrest Al Gore. Seriously. There is facebook site called “Arrest Al Gore”. Good idea. The carbone madness has a hidden agenda. The agenda is to control indirectly energy in the name of saving Goddess Earth. This cony science scandal is giving climatology and ecology a very bad reputation.

  4. He had found “quite widespread support” from other governments, but “other countries are reluctant to do something that is uncomfortable for the United States,” Soros said.
On Wednesday, the U.S. and China exchanged barbs at the Copenhagen climate talks, underscoring the abiding suspicion between the world’s two largest carbon polluters about the sincerity of their pledges to control emissions.
U.S. chief negotiator Todd Stern urged China — now the world’s biggest polluter — to “stand behind” its promise to slow the growth of the country’s carbon output and make the declaration part of the Copenhagen agreement.
China rejected that demand, and renewed its criticism of the U.S. for failing to meet its 17-year-old commitment to provide financial aid to developing countries and to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases warming the Earth.
“What they should do is some deep soul-searching,” said Yu Qingtai, China’s chief climate negotiator.

  7. Open Letter to Obama: Please Bring Our Troops Home Now!
    by Cynthia McKinney

    Mr. President:

I am writing to urge you to announce an immediate cease-fire followed by a withdrawal of all US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan in the fastest way consistent with the safety of our forces.

I urge you to end the use of Predator drones that kill civilians.

I call upon you to cease all covert operations in Africa, Asia, and North and South America.

Too many of your military advisors are implicated in torture, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and crimes against the peace. Your Justice Department operates at the zenith of injustice, defending Bush Administration criminality in U.S. Courtrooms.

I wrote to you earlier suggesting that if you did not investigate the crimes of the Bush Administration, you would be viewed as their accessory. Sadly, war crimes and torture are now committed with your name on them.

Please bring our troops home now.

    Cynthia McKinney

A peace demonstration is being organized for December 12, 2009 in Washington, D.C. The Emergency Anti-Escalation Rally, also known as the End US Wars Rally, is scheduled for 11am at Lafayette Park at the White House. I wholly endorse this rally and encourage all who can to participate in Washington, DC or to help a local peace organization committed to ending U.S. wars on that date.

For more information about the Washington, D.C. December 12, 2009 demonstration, please visit http://www.endUSwars.org, currently under construction.

    News From The Future

On this day in history the entire government of the United States in 2012 was brought up on treason and beheaded.

  12. Poutine is seriously thinking the fight against climatic change by cutting off for the next 300 years all supplies of natural gas and oil to Europe and the USA. Saudi Arabia also. Just kidding. It’s true. Nobody is talking about the carbon credit fraudsters that intend selling, pardon the pun, the hot air contracts to the fools. How about a SPECIAL edition on RT about “Climategate” ?

  13. @Will….I think the best way to express certain things is via myths. Here is a relevant quote from Ezra Pound which expands the thought:…..problem is most folks cant see the forest for the myth is quite thick.

  37. @Will:
Have you read Anne Rice? She takes the male fantasy and runs with it. I find her a good read: The Witching Hour and Lasher.

The only problematic is when she lets the plot drive the narrative and not the characters. I find that dull, and skip over it. But some scenes are pure brilliance.

  47. Compare this with Pound’s first poem in Personae:

    The Tree

I stood still and was a tree amid the wood,
    Knowing the truth of things unseen before;
Of Daphne and the laurel bow
    And that god-feasting couple old
That grew elm-oak amid the wold.
‘Twas not until the gods had been
Kindly entreated, and been brought within
Unto the hearth of their heart’s home
    That they might do this wonder thing;
Nathless I have been a tree amid the wood
And many a new thing understood
That was rank folly to my head before.

  48. @Frances – Jonah & Pinocchio

I think the best way to express certain things is via myths. Here is a relevant quote from Ezra Pound which expands the thought:

The first myths arose when a man walked sheer into ‘nonsense;’ that is to say, when some very vivid and undeniable adventure befell him, and he told someone else who called him a liar. Thereupon, after bitter experience, perceiving that no one could understand what he meant when he said that he ‘turned into a tree,’ he made a myth – a work of art that is an impersonal or objective story woven out of his own emotion, as the nearest equation that he was capable of putting into words. The story, perhaps, then gave rise to a weaker copy of his emotion in others, until there rose a cult, a company of people who could understand each other’s nonsense about the gods.

  61. bonn, and everyone. For some reason this seems like the time of year we all retrospect. New year coming. This year ending. Its like here we go. New story about to unfold.

In years past it seems it was gonna be a happier new year. This year I’m not so sure. I wish that the war mongers and greedy corporates could just get over this world control thing and lets go back to everyone having a good time on the planet.

I’m sure I don’t know irony seeing as the word plays on iron and will, two entities and one mind.

  67. snoot, good one. And how can you tell the difference between a captured mind and a person signing up for the armed forces.

  68. Genocide is possible because the victims targeted are indoctrinated before the assault through word-blitzkrieg. Why do you think that the Americans are permitted some knowledge now? Not for their own benefit.

Freedom exists: a child and a swing.

We can learn a lot from children.

  69. @Frances – Captured Minds

Have you read Milosz’ The Captive Mind? Excellent.

Frances, my reference was using the figure of speech known as irony. I’m sure you really know that and you’re just being playful, right?

  70. I understand. If you look at history its not a pretty picture. Yep you go back through the ages and its one group killing another group. Good times.

It the new world order were civil they’d take over the world peacefully. Not through carnage and death and destruction. I just don’t like all the lies. Which hints of bad stuff up thier sleeve.

  71. killing off the peasants

There are no peasants. There are only captured minds.

  72. Jon, this is an odd planet. It took me a long time to get used to it. The rulers have been killing off the peasants and are getting ready to do it some more. What can I say? It’s the way they do it on this planet. Fortunately, it’s an unsustainable modus operandi and will eventually self-terminate.

  73. Will and what should I understand other than the obvious.

  74. jon @ is this how you get away

No offense taken – if you had any understanding of what I mentioned, you would not have asked the question. Stay where you are, if that’s what you like; it’s your choice.

  75. will , no offense. But is this how you get away with knowing how many millions the usa and their allies are killing in the middle east for greed and imperialism.

  76. More on trans-afghan pipeline: http://www.opednews.com/articles/–Why-is-the-land-of-Afgh-by-TheDailyCrock-091207-471.html

@paganrongs – There is evidence that our military bases are being set up along the proposed pipeline route.

Start at about 54 minutes into this video and watch for at least ten minutes.

  77. @Jon – hopeless

Try reading some of John Perkins’ later works, or even Alberto Villoldo (e. g. Courageous Dreaming. This will give you a different perspective, and perhaps get you out of your fatalistic hamster wheel.

  78. tofu, I guess your one of the special ones that won’t be harmed by the corporate imperilists next war or pandemic. Your speical. LUcky you.

  79. @Jon — I think you need to come to terms with your own tenuous mortality before you can have a clear-headed analysis… you’re shooting at the side of a warehouse — of course you’re gonna hit something…

  80. tofu, I don’t think you get it. Do you want your relatives to be killed and whatever with a world war. Or a pandemic. Is this the correct excuse to counter the corporate heirchy from loosing thier hold of control on humanity.

  81. @Jon… World War III (IV, whatever) is an economic war…

Maybe check out what couple of young-ish Chinese PLA academics wrote about this in ’98/99:

  82. tofu, god help us. Greedy corporate imperlists have to clean up their act or were all in big trouble. They seem to be in a hurry for this world control thing. And it looks like there will be many millions to billons of casulties. But the dow will go up from from this damage and the coroporte pig enthusiasts will do well. So whats the worry.

As we all know. The corporate imperilists backup plans could be world war 3. Or a pandemic . Lord help us.

  84. @Jon — sorry, race/nationality irrelevant to me. Everyone is their own nation.

  85. tofu, I’m just beyond sadness now with what the usa is doing. We truly are the military/corportate empire that we were warned might happen. They’ve been telling(brainwashing) us for years that the bad guys were the japs, the germans the commies. But who is the one plundering and killing everyone and every country. Truly sad.

  86. (cont’d)… just that this sort of attitude has caused some of my American friends physical harm in the part…

  87. @jon — sorry, didn’t think when I typed that. I apologise.

  88. @jon — argh. You remind me of someone I would like to punch in the face again.

  89. but the stupid americans and the bought off allies keep supporting the scoundrelsa(bankster/military complex) that are raping and killing everyone for mineral rights. So who’s the good guy in all this. Not the americans or thier buddies. Stupidity or greed doesn’t count in a defense of character for destroying and killing millions of people.

  90. The pipeline will carry natural gas from Turkmenistan through the Kandahar province (yes the one where our soldiers keep dying) to India/Pakistan. If I remember rightly it is to avoid India and Pakistan being dependent upon Iran. It wouldn’t surprise me if our troop deployment ran along the pipe route – anyone know/have more info on this?

Ref your comment on Americans…a bit unfair, don’t you think? The people being bought off are not Americans, they are global, unelected, unaccountable corporatocracies.

    On the EU …
I probably mentioned a few times that with the cultural differences between the EU countries plus the fact that the EU politicians ( not all their CBs ) thought they could “financial manage” the EU with “one interest rate” … is utter madness, unless you give up the Fiat and CB system.

  122. Felatio

    Destined-dark the minutes until time
    Greets shadow long-hawked glance
    The rakish rhyme
Turns red the gyres round and lonesome plight
Makes fast the mourning flower unto night

Pricks hard the finger wrestling thread
    Blood-spattered rests a weary tread
When labored kindness finds no open door
When fasting empty lays the cellar door

    Alone with thee
    Caught fast I’ll be

    Caught up in careless masquerade
Slow dance upon my lonely grave
Bare feet upon the cold hard stone
    Bare arms of marble
    Strong to grasp
    Around my waist
    Once yet a lass
    And lips like solemn retrograde
    Of summer’s picnics unto shade

    Becomes you most
    The angst you boast

The moon to welcome growing death
    The grayness of last-lingered breath
When all will fade in darkness sure
Tis then our love held fast endure

    Endure quite free
    Like yon braight tree

… It looks like the SPDR Gold Shares (NYSE: GLD) is about to get some new competition, albeit far a far smaller trading vehicle. A F-1 filing at the SEC was made today by Sprott Physical Gold Trust, which is going to be selling units via an initial public offering. Be advised that this is a Canadian trust established as an Ontario trust, and it was created to invest and hold substantially all of its assets in physical gold bullion. In short, it wants to compete against the “GLD.”…

  161. @Fight On! Here’s a list:

    http://sjlendman.blogspot.com/2009/11/new-study-shows-ten-states-face-fiscal.html

    Arizona

Hard hit by the economic crisis, state lawmakers relied on one-time budget fixes over long-term solutions. They still haven’t closed a $1 billion FY 2009 gap.

    Rhode Island

With one of the nation’s weakest unemployment picture, its 2008 home foreclosure rate was worst in New England. It’s a problem-plague state hampered by high tax rates, chronic budget deficits, and few high-tech jobs.

    Michigan

Heavily dependent on auto production, it never recovered from the 2001 recession. By Q 4 2010, it’s on track to lose one-fourth of its jobs this decade, a shocking situation for its residents. The accelerated revenue shortfall forces the government to manage today with a 1960s-sized budget.

    Nevada

Gambling and sales taxes provide 60% of its revenue. The economic crisis hampers both.

    Oregon

Its timber, computer-chip manufacturing, and other key industries are hurting, resulting in state revenues dropping 19% from Q 1 2008 – Q 1 2009, a reflection of a heavy reliance on personal and corporate income taxes. Voters in January 2010 will decide whether to accept a $733 million tax increase.

    Florida

For the first time since WW II, its population is shrinking, complicating a long-term budget strategy based on increases. In 2009, lawmakers raised $2 billion in new revenue, but face a similar shortfall in FY 2010.

    New Jersey

For years, it’s fiscally mismanaged what it collects and spends. “Growing debt payments and perennially underfunded pension systems will make (its) road to recovery even rougher.”

    Illinois

As a resident, it’s a sore issue for this writer because of bipartisan irresponsible government. Notoriously corrupt politics complicates things at both state and local levels, especially in Chicago.

The result – the FY 2010 shortfall tops $13.2 billion, among the worst in the nation and unsustainable. But it’s financial woes began long before the downturn. Most important is its lack of fiscal discipline, showing up in budget deficits every year since 2001. It’s solutions – delay paying bills, skimp on state pension payments, borrow when other alternatives run out, and amass billions in deficits with no plan to reduce them.

    Wisconsin

It’s been hit harder than most states by revenue shortfalls and rising unemployment because it’s dependent on manufacturing.

  162. @ New York – Out of cash!

Instructions to pay debts? (Not bills, operating expenses, payroll?) … Debts…. What is his definition of debts? Who owns the debts?

Gov. David Paterson said Wednesday that New York has run out of cash and he’s directing budget officials to reduce state aid payments to schools, local governments and nonprofit service providers until things improve. Speaking at the Museum of American Finance in Manhattan, Paterson said he’ll probably get sued, but he won’t let the state run out of money on his watch.

“I am directing the Division of the Budget to limit payments so that we will have the cash to pay our debts at the end of December,” Paterson said. “I will continue to withhold payments until this economy is leveled off.”

“Now New York has run out of cash,” he said. “You can’t spend money that you don’t have.”

  188. Brazil and Uruguay Send US Dollar Home

    http://english.pravda.ru/world/americas/10-12-2009/111028-brazil_uruguay-0

Is the decision of Brazil and Uruguay to abandon the US dollar in bilateral trade justified from an economic and political viewpoint? Experts Vadim Toperman and Valery Garbuzov shared their opinions with Pravda.ru. Vadim Toperman, Director of the Center for Economic Research of the Institute for Latin American countries:
“The decision of Brazil and Uruguay to abandon the US dollar in bilateral trade was not a big sensation. The Russian government recently stated that it may do the same thing. In September of the last year, Brazil signed a similar agreement with Argentina. Reciprocal payments in Brazilian reals and Argentinean pesos began as early as 2007, and in 2008 it was legally recorded. Abandonment of the US dollar is beneficial for both Brazil and Uruguay since the trade between these two countries is constantly growing. This provokes technical difficulties . The main reason is economical, not political. Lately, the US dollar has unstable reputation, and its exchange rate to the Brazilian real and Uruguayan peso changes daily, which makes trading difficult and causes losses.”

Valery Garbuzov, Head of Foreign Policy Department of the Institute for the USA and Canadian Studies:

“This was another demonstration of the general Latin American tendency to abandon American currency…”

Falling Dollar Pushes Manufacturing Out of Europe
    By SPIEGEL Staff

Production jobs have been moving out of Europe for years. But as the Daimler decision last week to move C-Class production to the US shows, the process is accelerating as the dollar becomes weaker. Companies from Airbus to ThyssenKrupp are opening factories in America to improve their bottom lines.

The exodus seems to be unstoppable at the moment. Many prognoses even expect the euro to continue to rise. Ansgar Belke, an economist in the western German city of Essen, sees signs of a “significant climb” and believes that an exchange rate of $1.70 to the euro is realistic.

This doesn’t bode well for Germany, the world’s leading exporter in 2008 and now second only to China…(more)
