Thanks for making the effort to look at that site. Although I disagree with minor points in some of the text (I haven’t read it for a while, and some goes around rather than through my mind, really), the general thrust gels.
Your questions will be answered if you read through the various pages on that site. Re #1, I’m a heretic of orthodox physics (don’t mean to be anti-social, but am a heretic of orthodox medical “science” and.. and.. almost anything I take the time to look into) so it would be better to contact the text’s author, who appears to be a believer of the current paradigm; you should get on famously.
Ok, I’ve just read the first few paragraphs of the GW-denier website you posted. I’ve already found enough scientific gibberish to question the value of reading more. However I will read more if you can explain what is meant by the following:
“What frauds [sic] are implying through their propaganda (non-analysis) is that the earth is only cooled to the extent that greenhouse gasses allow it to be cooled due to radiation which goes through the greenhouse gasses. Wrong. The planet is cooled by radiation which goes around greenhouse gasses. ”
What does he mean “through” vs. “around”. In terms of physics this makes no sense at all. An IR photon emitted by Earth either encounters a Greenhouse gas molecule (eg H20, CO2, CH4, etc.) or it does. When it does, it has a chance to be absorbed which depends upon the molecule in question. This can be easily measured by taking an IR spectrum of said molecules. There is no option for that photo to “go around” a molecule in its way. Is he trying to deny that IR radiation emitted by Earth goes through the atmosphere and into space.
Thanks for your reply to my list of greenhouse/GW observations/facts that I have not heard disputed. You are one of the few people on this site to have challenged that posting. I will read the link you posted in detail as soon as I have time. In the meantime, can you refute even one of the 5 assertions I made specifically? For example can you explain the reason Earth’s temperature is far above its equilibrium temperature from solar heating alone?
(If you can, I will be happy to correct my webpage accordingly)
Ahhh there you go then…
I don’t know many educated people in the Nord-est…
Mostly regular working-class types…
But who’s to say that education actually makes one more intelligent in politics?
That said, I seem to recall that LEGA NORD had the most representatives come out of that area… so the people who voted for Zio Silvio were likely outnumbered anyway… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lega_Nord#Popular_support
Yup.
Tavistock has become a kind of generic name, not necessarily tied to a specific location. Sometimes agents are described as “London-trained” which usually means Tavistock.
Did you notice that one of the 7/7 explosions was placed outside the old Tavistock address?
Don’t forget that Dubai has lost 50% of it’s investments cause of the decreasing real estate prices. A severe blow which isn’t something to overcome easily, Dubai has had huge writing-downs already and there is more to come when in some places prices still go down!
The more conservative, rich brother, Abu Dhabi stept in only when it had it’self assured of the proper arrangement made which would incalculate future losses. Otherwise such arrengements are only biding time for future defaults in case more, unable to be pay, debts mature.
We surely hope Abu Dhabi pressed these arangements but creditors also have to have severe write-downs which will rimple the financial world and cause other companies further down the “food chain” to go belly up.
Dubai supose to become the “Disney World” for the ultra rich but since there are not many of them and they live on private Islands and not in Dubai I think it will be the New Costa Del Sol of the Arabic World, which can be a good thing, financially and desperately to rain in more revenues. Why not.
Revenues are the big problem now for Dubai but also for China who has build complete, still empty, cities. But the common still working taxpayer has more financial mouths to feet, that of greedy banks with huge write-downs hidden in their shadow banking system and that of a pullaging financial system which creates huge volumes out of nothing with High Frequency Trading Machines, driving prices up or down to cause huge volatility in trading so that the insider traders can feed themselves with huge bonusses parasitically of the real economy which is bugged down by the corrupt crony capitalistic parasitical behavior.
Bottemline for Dubai is that it could be proved to be difficult to rain in future revenues on tourism if the tourist are bugged down by a everlasting crises paying more taxes and fees to banks and oil bound to go up. Food prices could explode due to lack of maintanance on the food producing grid also by Bio-fuel planting vegitation replacements.
The problem is that the Banks are the only ones who are able to puss ideas into reality but reality shows that they are usually the worse ones to come up with sustainable “killer” ideas since these are driven by own selfish shortime financial interests which have nothing to do with the world, the environment and the common stakeholders in general but only with their money.
Bio-fuel is a good example for that. People are dying because of replacing food with Yuppie Bio-fuel. A very bad and scientifical unfunded not completely tought trough idea based on myths rather than facts. Same with the windmill which is grossly overrated concerning futures “clean” and oil replacing energy demand.
Fun one to get folks thinking about “perceiving” and “seeing”. The new tall Paul/s came out with the longer face, the straight legs and the need for seclusion to get the plastic surgery and left-handed guitar thing down. The official girlfriend’s dad was a Tavistock man.
But what if the public understood the whole story? How is it that the banks are now having one of their most profitable years ever? Given that there is not much lending going on, and that the newly increased credit card fees have only just begun to flow into bank coffers, where is all that money coming from?
Why did’nt I get into Banking
Then Max & Stacey woulda been talkin about me LOL
Bonn from Citibank “Has he gone Looney ?”

I’m sorry to say this but I have met many educated Italians from the Veneto region who voted Berlusconi…who aren’t part of the Lega Nord. They chose Berlusconi because he is a business man who apparently gets something done in Italian politics…what exactly, I don’t know.
I think Abu Dhabi is attempting to get the wheel Rolling hoping other peeps chip in ??? Max what’s your handle on tis and where is Gold oh let me check!

Abu Dhabi gives Dubai $10 billion in surprise bailout but creditors still hold on standstill on $26 bill DW debt http://tinyurl.com/y8svv87
The move was the least expected of all options Dubai had on the table after requesting a standstill on $26 billion in Dubai World debt on November 25, alarming global financial markets and shaking the image of the emirate as a regional business hub.
Dubai also announced a new bankruptcy law that it said could be used in case Dubai World and creditors failed to reach an agreement on debt maturing in the future.
The Dubai government source said the law, which would be in effect from Dec 14, could allow Dubai World to file for bankruptcy if its restructuring was not successful.
Dubai’s creditors, which include London-listed Standard Chartered, HSBC, Lloyds and Royal Bank of Scotland, along with United Arab Emirates lenders Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and Emirates NBD, effectively have until Dec 28 to agree to the standstill, when the Nakheel bond’s grace period ends.
Why would UFO’s go to Washington DC? I think it’s arrogant to think that if there are Aliens out there they would go to Capitol Hill…of course they exist…even Nikola Tesla communicated with them in the early 1900′s.
@ gb
It’s true, now Berlusconi is the underdog because of this attack therefore the Italians will feel sorry for him… I shouldn’t wish ill on anyone….but every Italian who voted for him should also be punched.
@dan valley Re: Berlusconi attack
although actions like that should not be advocated, still…it gives a certain satisfactory feeling to see that they are touchable and vulnerable…..
Hi Max and Stacy, I have just been listening to your show “The truth about comments” 13th December. Martin Luther King was assassinated for just such perceptions as you espouse!. You remind me of the story of Aesop mocking the Delphic oracle. In the end the priests chucked him over the cliff. We love you both. Please remember just how brave you are!
just a wild guess. But the ones who have put themselves in the drivers seat of control tend to want to push thier ideas and agendas. And are against anyone or anything that is counter to thier views. Odd. YOu’d think open analysis of a situation should be used to figure out the proper plan. NOpe. My way or the hiway when it comes to the ones in control.
zmoore, I’ve noticed that often people seem to want to make the world better for themselves and people like them, rather than in more general terms. (Although they’ll state otherwise) Also, when things are going well for someone, they typically couldn’t care less about the world.
If the first casualty of war is truth, then why do people argue to arrive at truth? Arguing is fiat intellectual inquiry. It’s promotion is used to the advantage of those better at language judo, and those with the unreasonable advantages protected by lawyers, media, etc.
Things are out of hand in Indianapolis where City Threatens $2500 Fines for Challenging Traffic Tickets.
Motorists who receive minor parking or traffic tickets in Indianapolis, Indiana are being threatened with fines of up to $2500 if they attempt to take the ticket to court. A local attorney with the firm Roberts and Bishop was so outraged by what he saw in Marion County traffic court that he filed a class action suit yesterday seeking to have the practice banned as unconstitutional.
If somebody responded to the above, excuse the redundancy.
The author has been grossly deceived. All five tenets of his faith are, um.. untruths.
The term “greenhouse gases” seems to have produced some elementary misconceptions. The earth is not a little greenhouse.
This is an easy read, and has links to more detailed explanations of why greenhouse gases, and especially carbon dioxide, do not drive global warming or cooling. http://nov55.com/words.html
Note, greenhouse gases means water vapor plus 1% of whatever.Carbon dioxide is a small fraction of the whatever, and is essential for life; plants need more of it, not less.

Germany to Borrow Much More in 2010, Report Says
Germany is poised to borrow around 100 euros billion more next year, a newspaper reported on Thursday, signaling that Europe’s largest economy is on course to break the EU’s deficit rules — and the extent of the financial headache facing the new center-right government coalition. http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/0,1518,666373,00.html
Regarding the drop in quality of products and services from companies that go public, Stacy mentions at the end of the show. I think this is due to illicit money laundering. Consider two businesses.
Business Legit has margins of 25%.
Business Crafty has margins of 50%.
Legit has to fake twice as many transactions to launder the same amount of money as Crafty. If there are loses involved in this process, such as the dumping of product, then Legit would have to fake more than twice as many transactions to match Crafty.
Throw in the desire to launder as much as possible, and to prevent getting caught, and you end up with locations that desire as much foot and drive-through traffic and cash flowing through as possible, and as little product and service cost as possible. If their business is to front illicit money laundering, then serving a quality meal with good service to comfortable sit-down customers who take their time, would greatly reduce how much they can launder.
Naomi Klein pointed out that the brands of companies are becoming their products. But I think the primary motive she missed for this race to the bottom, is an extreme desire to increase money-laundering capacity. Illicit funds are vast and have to be going somewhere. For the criminals, the money isn’t worth much unless it’s “legitimate” so they can enjoy it freely.
Throw the stock market angles into it, and now this gap between Legit and Crafty is leveraged. This creates huge opportunities for profit. For example, should a Crafty be set to fail, insiders can short it’s stocks and options, and then with-hold their illicit funds from it to rake in even more “washed” money from it’s then certain failure.
In a way there will be more currencies. If carbon trade goes global, in a way every business will become it’s own version of a carbon currency, with it’s valuation dependent on the selective enforcement and interpretation of a myriad of regulations regarding their energy use/production and other influences.
While they may give up on their leveraged currency trading, arbitrage, revaluation game. The essence of taking rent or building/stealing wealth is increasing control. “Owning” property is merely controlling property. “Working” at a job is merely placing your time and efforts under someone else’ control. A global carbon regime will yield far more control than the current system.
Consider the levers it will provide:
The “science” used. (It focuses on carbon or CO2 instead of the water cycle, soil health, the biosphere, biodiversity, pollution or population. So although it sounds environmental to some, it has practically nothing to do with global ecology. This is important because it hijacks the public’s thinking, keeping them clear of the local solution of permaculture farming. Climate has little effect against the buffers built into an established permaculture farm.)
The structure of regulations,
The selective enforcement of regulations and the ability to threaten this or withdraw this.
The increased need for access to finance.
The increased power of ratings, assessment, compliance agencies.
The increased need for political influence.
The increased value of illicit cash flows.
The billionaire globalist increases his power/control with all of these. Individuals and communities have less power/control with all of these.
“Authorities said they have traced much of the oil rustling to the Zetas, a criminal organization founded by former military commandos.” Although the Zetas initially served as a protection arm of the powerful Gulf cartel, they now call their own shots and dominate criminal enterprise in the oil-rich states of Veracruz and Tamaulipas. “The Zetas are a parallel government,” said Eduardo Mendoza Arellano, a federal lawmaker who heads a national committee on energy.
Key elements of the disinformation concocted by NATO intelligence agencies to justify the US-UK invasion Iraq came from SISMI in Italy — Niger uranium forgeries.

Berlusconi would drown in the blood he’s responsible for spilling, on that one count alone.
I don’t see a kleptocracy occasionally assaulted by nuts as a desirable end state, but in the absence of much coherent political opposition to corporatists bankrupting the west, that seems to be where we’re at right now.
At least this one act of impotent rage was well aimed, and for that I’m pleased.
The BBC did a mini TV drama last year that was so good it should have been made into a movie. I can’t find the full film on the internet but in case you can check out the trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQTlTB-Ze2Y
@Mike .. yes , Russia is really chummy with Germany and I suppose France as well ( wrt Brussels & Russian gas )
You know what , I wouldn’t be surprised if the German Post isn’t the Trojan Horse that’s going to trigger inflation i n th UK !
Half joking of course … but here’s my 2 cents :
The German Post was anyway always too expensive, but when the Euro arrived, they didn’t halve the prices , NO.. they just changed the currency label.
In ca. 2000 , it cost 3 DM ( 1.5 Euros) to send a small parcel to Austria ; from Austria to Germany, it was ca. 25% cheaper !
After a few years , the Deutsche Post simply upped their prices by 100% and more … NOBODY said a word, NOBODY complained. They had bought DHL (so called outsourcing) in the mean time , and the prices got even more expensive.
The result was that many other parcel services guaged their pricing using the Post as a yard-stick .. so every became more expensive again.
The only exception was HERMES ( they’ve just acquired ParcelNet in the UK ).
BTW .. I use Hermes nearly always these days.
I can send a fairly large parcel for 4 Euros anywhere within Germany including a tracking number and 500 Euros insurance. I have NEVER lost a shipment with them.
I cannot say the same for the Post .. where things like DVDs have simply disappeared .. many times !
Once I accidentally swapped the labels on 2 Hermes parcels.
When the 2 recipients called me, I informed Hermes and they simply picked them up again and re-delivered them .. at “no extra charge”.
“THAT” is service !
The Hermes concept is pretty clever …
They employ small corner shops as a “Hermes Shop”, the have an online service where you can print the labels and get a discount on the price as well.
http:www.hlg.de
They also employ many small delivery vans ( 1-man businesses ) that are always very busy.
OK , their pay is not the best I hear , but they get by OK.

I think RUSSIA coming to have “Tea & Bick-es” with France a few weeks ago is MEGA news. I think a deal was either discussed or done.
France/Germany will head up Euro-land……London is going to lose its Income in finance as thee banks have been shown to be totally untrusworthy.
A New Chapter, France will LOVE to take a great chuck of Londons cake, Germany might smirk a bit as well…….the centre of power IS shifting………….but no one has a time table Phil?

smashing someone in the face is not the most intelligent or efficient way of expressing political dissent. it’s the lazy way out.
do any of you seriously think that anyone who disagrees with a poltician should physically assault them?

Police first said it appeared the assailant had punched Berlusconi in the face while clutching a souvenir statue of Milan’s Duomo, or gargoyled cathedral, which symbolizes the city. But state TV later showed a video, somewhat blurry, of what appeared to be the attacker’s hand coming close to Berlusconi’s face while holding the statue, then letting go of the object at the last minute as it hit the premier’s face.
Greece defies Europe as EMU crisis turns deadly serious
Euroland’s revolt has begun. Greece has become the first country on the distressed fringes of Europe’s monetary union to defy Brussels and reject the Dark Age leech-cure of wage deflation.

…The danger point for Greece will come when the Pfennig drops in Berlin that EMU divergence between North and South
has widened to such a point that the system will break up unless: either Germany tolerates inflation of 4pc or 5pc to prevent Club Med tipping into debt deflation; or it pays welfare transfers to the South (not loans) equal to East German subsidies after reunification….
@Mike … This comment was pretty interesting :
…Dear Sir,
The EURO will remain an exklusive club of countries with a strong and stable currency. Ireland has shown the way by cutting the budget deficit, which is the only way to get the house in order. Greece will be following shortly.
The problem for the EURO area is the UK banks with approx 5,000 £ Billion short term loans abroad. How can the UK repay to loans without a sovereign default. Add the public sector pension deficit of an additional £ 5,000 billion and another £ 200 billion funny money printed and the 15-20% budget deficit to be funded. The UK economy is in tatters and the £ will collapse, with sovereign default to follow together with food shortages and civil unrest. leave for a Euro land with stable currency and higher living standard the this demerging country. Leave now….
@ Max – Speaking of corporate shilling, Obama’s next public appearance will be at a Home Depot where he will talk about home retrofitting. (I wonder if he will pose at the podium with a bottle of Coke?) Seems that Obama is trying to make inroads in campaign contributions; the Home Depot is a huge RNC contributor, and the founder of the Home Depot even said during the presidential campaign that retailers who don’t support the GOP should be shot. (The Depot has also lobbied against health care reform and the employee free choice act, but I guess none of that matters, either.) I have to assume that his choice of the Home Depot is political, because if he felt that he needed to give a speech at a corporate chain, Lowe’s would actually better suit his purpose of pushing energy-saving home retrofitting given that they are moving into selling solar panels and wind turbines.

Meanwhile, other Politipigs from the Parti Democratico etc, are all denouncing the attack, yet I’m pretty sure they are just jealous that THEY couldn’t nail him like that…

On another subject, the White House is engaged in a lame “going after the bankers” PR campaign.
First there was the President’s weekly address in which he went after the banks for undercutting reform. And now, Summers has come out with a pitiful and insulting line about how the President will persuade bankers to lend more, because “we were there for them” in their time of need.
That was beautiful…
the reporter didn’t seem to mention WHAT he was hit with…
Although a quick google scan and it seems someone PUNCHED him…
that was quite a hit… he bleeds pretty easily…
and the bruising!!! WOW!!!
This is all coinciding with the Anti-Berlusconi rallying that has been going on…
to be frank, I’m surprised the Mafia (or Cosa Nostra, for that matter) haven’t bumped him off, since he screwed the Sicillian branch back in the 90′s when he got in power (although there were a lot of Judges getting knocked off back then)
If that dotard has any sense left in him, he’ll LEAVE politics ASAP and go back to titillating the TV watchers with sex and soccer with his MEDIASET propaganda empire…
While porking his teenage queens…
@mep – there are some hints in Jeremy Scahill’s article that only the CIA operations have to be pre-approved. While the JSOC operations are considered military and may not require pre-approval. At least that’s the way I read it.
@Mep — I imagine the sort of important covert-ops you’re talking about are only signed off on AFTER they’re successful… these people don’t care about rules, regulations, or laws… they care about work-arounds and loop-holes… it is a core competency…
@ Tofu – Who knows how many separate strikes or operations are actually signed on off . . . . The beauty is that the law binds the President to sign off on covert ops, so even if he’s NOT actually signing off on every action, he is ultimately responsible for.
Not sure why methane freaks me out as much as it does, but thawing permafrost and methane hydrates strike me as being important. Whether humans are the decisive factor or not, the release of a lot of methane in the atmosphere (once a presumed tipping-point is met) can’t be good. (Do skeptics here agree?)
…and I say this as someone highly suspicious of CRU, the IPCC, the elite scientists and policy wonks. I still think there needs to be an investigation… still think top skeptics need to play a part in the debate… I want total transparency, open-source dev of modelling code etc (I guarantee there are some better coders out there with fewer time/money constraints).
What do the Vostok ice samples say about methane levels as they relate to temperature? Mother — what do your soft-porn girls say about all of this? Are we focusing on the wrong gas? (C’mon dude… why not set up AGW sites to appeal to pedophiles and other fringe paraphilliacs so as to “recruit” them to your ideology? You’ll get 0.001% more respect out of me for your methods.)
@ gb – I believe that the President has to sign off on covert ops. But for all we know, that quaint law could’ve went the way of all things considering Rumsfeld’s “modernization” of the military and Pentagon. JSOC is running separate missions alongside the Blackwater/Xe mercenaries/Christian crusaders, so who knows what’s really going on.
One of the officials notes that the administration is likely to continue to debate, and even plan for the possibility of expanding, drone operations in the future—if only to keep the pressure on Pakistan to maintain its current efforts to capture and kill terrorists. A White House spokesperson had no comment.
Drone strikes as incentive? Or drone strikes as blackmail? Sounds like we’re threatening to destabilize their country further by radicalizing segments of their population who are going against the government for allowing the drone campaign in the first place. “Kill who we tell you to or we’ll turn your people against you & make it impossible for you to govern.”
I repeat, the President of the US must approve of covert operations. So why in the world is Newsweek claiming that Obama is against increased drone attacks in Pakistan? If Obama was against increased drone strikes, that would mean that he hadn’t signed off on them, which would mean that a part of the military/Pentagon is operating independently of US law.
@Phil
The reporter said:
That an object, probably made of iron was thrown at Berlusconi. He is in shock hence he went in the car and then exited the car to face the public with his bloody face. Then she repeats the object hit him directly in the face. The reporter sort of repeats herself in this report and then ends her report by saying other than this it was a peaceful day.
@ Youri Carma @California Doctor – Yeah, the asset freeze is interesting. The article says that the accounts were ordered to be frozen a year ago . . . did anybody hear about the story back then?
Just last month, there was news that we had seized 4 mosques and a New York City skyscraper that were allegedly operated by the Iranian government. It was reported as being a “counter-terrorism” seizure.
I think Stacy made a good point about extremism (can’t remember an approximation of a direct quote; it was a comment about characters like Sarah Palin and overt belligerence being a desirable quality in politicians b/c it draws out the crazy in a way that is more obvious to the public). At least when people like McCain are out there singing bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran or commenting on how great it is to export cigarettes to Iran b/c it kills them faster, the public can weigh such disgusting rhetoric against what we as a collective conceive of as American values and how we’d like our government to engage the rest of the world. When that rhetoric is softened and replaced with fairy tales about our belief in democracy, freedom, and human rights as well as stories about the good that we’ve exported to the world via our Empire, the public doesn’t pay close attention to what are actually acts of war. Why are we freezing Iranian assets when our government explicitly told the CIA/FBI not to follow the money trail on 9/11? Why are we attempting to incite revolution in a country that had nothing to do with the Saudis who attacked us on 9/11? And why is the President of Peace and Congress allowing these acts of war? (The President has to sign off on CIA covert activities, so do a handful of members of Congress.)
Frances Snoot and others seemed to be unaware of Bob’s track record. His website is here http://www.theinternationalforecaster.com/ You can get a free sample copy of his newsletter. He is on the radio 30 hours a week in America. He sees the dollar being devalued sharply in the latter half of next year. He also sees a depression coming soon. He said last week that the FED will be trying to tighten the money supply and take a trillion dollars out of circulation. This is according to a source Bob has at a bank who is invited to FED private meetings and will be reporting back from an upcoming meeting. The problem with that actually happening is that Obama wants to recycle the TARP money that is paid back because he will have trouble keeping his budget deficit under 1.9 trillion dollars between now and election day 2010 which is in November.
@Youri Carma
That story about New York courts “freezing” “Iranian” assets is more than a little wierd.
Are these assets owned by the Iranian government or are they owned by Americans doing business with Iran? I don’t get it.
It seems like this story is from a press release or briefing but its not clear if the frozen assets are really owned by Citibank or the Iranian gov’t.

So, if abuse mean’s more O’s, bring on your wild horses! And we get to have our Moral Lifted as well! Oh! Joy~in the wisdom of Europe!!!
C’mon now, Ron Paul, there is no chance the congress could pass that bill. I’ve heard his arguments but he’s become a market fundamentalist who has a Reagan fetish. People are greedy and irrational. The answer isn’t financial anarchy, but to reform the system, and throw the crooks in jail. That’s my 2 bits.
@frances … People just bash each other over the head with their comment clubs.
OK , you so meant “me” !
I had no idea … and actually thought you were answering someone else’s post.
I haven’t basjed you m except a few little jokes saying “you seem to have SDRs on the brain” !
.. and that was after being hit with a deluge of SDR posts & Links which would have taken me at least an hour to read properly…. which is why I jested with you.
As I said .. a little jest .. not meant to be serious critique !
I find it odd that everyone is so surprised and upset over obama’s Afghanistan plan as if he had betrayed his supporters- it was on his campaign website. He had a whole section on Afghanistan and how he thought the “war needed to be moved more over there” and that he wanted to focus on Afghanistan as the “real war.” He also discussed leaving 50,000 troops in Iraq to preform “special missions.” There was also a page about protecting Israel’s interests at whatever cost(which sounds a bit scary). In fact, I found nothing on his campaign website that seemed different from the status quo. It pretty much looked like john mcains. But for some reason all of my classmates voted for him and had street parades through my neighborhood on election night. Of course none of these people have said anything about the war or the bailouts since he got elected. There are obama stickers on every car around here and one of these days I’m going to have some bumper stickers made up that say “MORE WAR” and stick them next to the obama stickers in the middle of the night.
No, actually, Phil, I was remembering how often you made fun of my perspective concerning sdr mentioning that the idea was solely mine and likening my investigative curiosity to a strange Bean/Sellers hybrid impetuous streak.

@Frank Hope:
Do you mean to tell us Frank that your last name really is HOPE? Frankly, I thought you were operating with a pseudonym. Lots of writers use pseudonyms, but people don’t usually take offense to the use. It was quite predominate in England during the Victorian era when women were marginalized for their views dependent on their sex.
To play the devils advocate, I would say that Japan has been on this course a lot longer and they are still motoring along pretty good.
I know there are differences but are we not falling prey to thinking everything is the next big catastrophe a little bit?
The (Sunday) London Times Business section had a one paragraph news section stating that both BP and Shell intend to sell their petrol stations in the UK. Explain that one!

Well, I suppose a filter would be in order to protect the innocent from the troll-like clubbing behaviour of the animalistic clubbers. A Frances filter?! Just the ticket!!! Discourse will now be diagrammed as aggressive; teasing is a terrorist sport; and words relegate men to caves.
Got clubs?
(no mind you certain clubbing activities are ENCOURAGED so long as the clubbies are American or bankers or a combination of both)
@max – The “tribal” comment was interesting. The internet is truly creating a new tribal society. It is also very primitive. People just bash each other over the head with their comment clubs.
The conclusion is that when you give people anonymity they revert back to stone age behavior. So much for the evolution of homus erectus.
On the Matt Damon history show: we are now all so far removed from good acting that we accept and endure the mediocrity of film stars reading performances with all the passion of children in highschool dramas.
Just imagine Brando and George C. Scott reading these roles and you get some idea what I am talking about. We have become so surfeited with the music and technological wizardry of modern film that nothing is demanded from the actor any longer. Josh Brolin? Are you serious. Max has 100 times the displayed passion in most of his impromptu weekly appearances than any of these clowns.
No one in Hollywood wants to be caught out ‘losing their cool’ anymore and theirs now is a paradoy of the art form and is both pathetic and useless. Imagine being a slave and reading a letter you wrote to your master with as much disengagement as B. Bratt? Lee Strasberg or Uta Hagen, the great teachers of the past would have shouted that jerk offstage and had his pants pulled down so that he could be spanked for incompetence.

@Dr. Richard Head …. the psychology of paper money currency issued by decree.
Well said … but I think most people here agree with you as well.
Personally , I skip the Climate Change and Carbon Credit posts .. simply because I can’t read “everything” and for me, it’s just all part of the paper ponzi system.
Yes, the essence is the treadmill of paper-money .. designed such that as soon as you think you’re OK, the PTB will debase it a little more, just to keep you “treading” paper ( like treading water to keep afloat ) !
Many of the comments here recently about climate change seem to have discounted the psychology of paper money currency issued by decree. From this consciousness is what many us here have stepped away from. I am willing to believe that all of us here can see a world of abundance and world free of much of the tyranny and degradation of our planet and people in a world without paper money. The restrictions that the people are experiencing right now are that of government imposed restrictions; hether it is food or clean water or available paper money notes. The paper money scheme allows for the related government’s impositions of those restrictions, no matter how well intentioned the people’s pleas may be at the government. It has been said many times that indeed the amount of freedom of a society is directly related to the amount of prosperity. Today’s examples are showing us the falling prosperity and the falling freedoms and paper money is the tool that allowed for much of this to happen.
The monetary system that we currently live under does not reward the hard-working and dedicated; it simply gives the “privilege” away to those that support its monetary growth, hence greater control. The paper money game is one of a carrot on a stick for a jackass or a piece of cheese hanging on the edge of a mousetrap for those not at the top of this oligarchial world government scheme. It is pure and utter garbage. It is set up to make one think they can have their freedom if only they could get enough Federal Reserve Notes, Euros, Carbon Credits, SDRs, stocks, or whatever. It is not verily easily done unless you are one the few in the ranks of our oligarch (In the US obviously Goldman Sachs, The Federal Reserve, Citigroup, JP Morgan, Congress, etc). Alas our US President has surrounded himself with the very same people that perpetuate this paper money game of paper money musical chairs. The quicker we can get the others to grasp the significance of the paper control grid, the better off this entire country, if not globe, would absolutely be.
They need to understand the concept of money in its true form and not that of their socialist training of public education. When they reply, “But, you cannot eat your gold!!!” remind them neither can you with your paper notes from the Federal Reserve ro Wall Street.
Without this paper money, our government would have a much more difficult time of being able to “fund” these divisive issues that don’t even belong at the Federal level. These proposals they put out to get the left fighting with the right and vice versa and are used to just get the people fighting amongst themselves. In the end these bills, no matter how well intentioned by each side pushing for it, the lawmakers still end up making it into a funding stream so that the best connected can get the increase in paper first before it goes to the plebes. Americans have indeed lost their way, but I believe we can get it back by remembering that many of the citizens of the country did not understand what money was. There are many more now that do and many more will remember what there were some screamed at the top of our longs when this paper starts to burn. And burn it will.
I like to think of it as the gospel according to (insert your name). Lloyd Blankfien was indeed correct when he believes he was doing the work of God, because his God is for this paper trail to continue for his life to continue as he knows it. My God happens to be my freedom, so I am doing the work of my God as well. It is all a matter or perception as far as I am concerned. I know the truth and I need to tell everyone who is willing to be a witness, so that their perception becomes one of reality behind the emperor’s clothing of green Federal Reserve Notes. We are making inroads and I will always continue to play my part until I die.
This will indeed be a revolution of the minds and of the hearts of the people. Our revolution is one where no bullets or guns will be necessary. Our weapons are a shift in consciousness into the reality of what is money.
I’m afraid the calculation is somewhat beyond me, but thanks for the relpy

Even if my Constant K were to reduce from 25 to say 18 because of De-forrestation
Thereby bolloning thier Green House Gas figures to say 42 in the crapy Example I gave
They dont even put that out
Makes me all the more suspicious.
Max you are confusing climate change with environmental sustainability. Climate change is a theory arrived at by scientific consensus. Recently emails were released by hackers which showed the scientists were manipulating the data. Naturally this is something that needs to be investigated. But what it appears is a huge push to introduce an emissions trading system that is very profitable to certain parties *without* any accountability and benefit for the environment.
And another strange thing about the so called climate change Experts is that they always & only put up “How much Green House Gases are put out by us Via means of agriculture & Industry”
Hmm should’nt they also like Add For Ex.
Green House Gas’s ( 20+ 40 = 60);
60 +(- 25 (Forrest’s size)) = 35 PMT / year ?????
I have never seen Calculations like that
Ooooh I aint an Expert in total forrest area thats not for me to worry “I am the Climate change Expert”

@ Stacy,
Anglo-saxon electorates seem to love their empathic hope-merchants (Blair, Obama), overflowing with virtue and ‘values’.
Blair’s speech to the World Affairs Council in Los Angeles (2005) (2006) about the “arc of extremism” was the sanctimonious tone Obama was striving for. As Israel rained US & UK supplied bombs on Lebanon, he spoke about western ‘values’ and the virtues of war, even against a phantom enemy:
“Sometimes political strategy comes deliberatively, sometimes by instinct. For this [Muslim] movement, it was probably by instinct. It has an ideology, a world-view, it has deep convictions and the determination of the fanatic. It resembles in many ways early revolutionary Communism. It doesn’t always need structures and command centres or even explicit communication. It knows what it thinks.”
He even laid out the Grand Strategy behind interventions in Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq and beyond:
“If we are championing the cause of development in Africa, it is right in itself but it is also sending the message of moral purpose, that reinforces our value system as credible in all other aspects of policy.
It serves one other objective. There is a risk that the world, after the Cold War, goes back to a global policy based on spheres of influence. Think ahead. Think China, within 20 or 30 years, surely the world’s other super-power. Think Russia and its precious energy reserves. Think India. I believe all of these great emerging powers want a benign relationship with the West.
But I also believe that the stronger and more appealing our world-view is, the more it is seen as based not just on power but on justice, the easier it will be for us to shape the future in which Europe and the US will no longer, economically or politically, be transcendent. Long before then, we want moderate, mainstream Islam to triumph over reactionary Islam.
That is why I say this struggle is one about values. Our values are worth struggling for. They represent humanity’s progress throughout the ages and at each point we have had to fight for them and defend them. As a new age beckons, it is time to fight for them again.”
Once you understand Blair’s values, the speech becomes clear, and quite insane.
The wars in the middle east are to work them into the western alliance system, to secure Israel. Africa and the world beyond is there to be harvested by the west through ‘controlled’ immigration, a human resource for exploitation at home or abroad.
The wars are driven by a deep fear of the rising strength of China, India, and resource rich Russia … and the fear that the west (Europe/US) will not be able to dictate to the rest of the world in the very near future.
Obama seems more and more like the US Blair — a sanctimonious hope merchant, whose urge to war reflects a deep narcissism.
Yes Obama is embarising, its was obvious all along, snakeoil salesman is too polite a term to describe him. Anyone who starts spouting abstractions like hope, freedom, change, stop warning lights. pre election he had no program just a box of abstractions. Unfortunately the electorate fell for it, and soon they will hit the ground hard. You know the ‘La Haine’ joke about falling out of a six floor building. La chute et l’ atterrisage.
why even bother talking about obama anymore?
he’s just a face, an actor. it was easy enough to realize that bush wasn’t really running anything and the same thing is going on now.

Correction. I should have said:
either encounters a Greenhouse gas molecule on its way out (eg H20, CO2, CH4, etc.) or it doesn’t.
@ anything.but.green.again.
@anything but green.again
Thanks

@Bonn
Made a Topic about it: Dubai’s Future and that of the World http://tinyurl.com/yabx7wl
@Bonn

But what if the public understood the whole story? How is it that the banks are now having one of their most profitable years ever? Given that there is not much lending going on, and that the newly increased credit card fees have only just begun to flow into bank coffers, where is all that money coming from?
Why did’nt I get into Banking

Drug money saved banks in global crisis, claims UN advisor

Re: the currency issue mentioned on the show.
WaPo: Oil theft by drug cartels in Mexico… a “parallel government”…
“Authorities said they have traced much of the oil rustling to the Zetas, a criminal organization founded by former military commandos.” Although the Zetas initially served as a protection arm of the powerful Gulf cartel, they now call their own shots and dominate criminal enterprise in the oil-rich states of Veracruz and Tamaulipas. “The Zetas are a parallel government,” said Eduardo Mendoza Arellano, a federal lawmaker who heads a national committee on energy.

Berlusconi would drown in the blood he’s responsible for spilling, on that one count alone.

@Mike .. yes , Russia is really chummy with Germany and I suppose France as well ( wrt Brussels & Russian gas )
OMG .. I’ve gone off on a long tangent again.
I give up !
@Mike/Liverpool – Timetable
Doesn’t the timetable depend on the ability of the nations in the EU to hold US Treasuries?
If they sell Treasuries and do not buy in tomorrow morning and Tuesday morning, the damage could be nearly immediate.

RE: Berlusconi Colpito

VIVA INTER!!! NEROAZZURO PER SEMPRE!!!!
@ Frank Hope – Well that would explain why the JSOC/Blackwater drone strikes are on record as killing the most civilians.
@frances – boooga boooga
@mep – there are some hints in Jeremy Scahill’s article that only the CIA operations have to be pre-approved. While the JSOC operations are considered military and may not require pre-approval. At least that’s the way I read it.
@Mep — I imagine the sort of important covert-ops you’re talking about are only signed off on AFTER they’re successful… these people don’t care about rules, regulations, or laws… they care about work-arounds and loop-holes… it is a core competency…
omg . . . signed off on. (I type better when I’m drinking for eff’s sake!)
for them.
@ Tofu – Who knows how many separate strikes or operations are actually signed on off . . . . The beauty is that the law binds the President to sign off on covert ops, so even if he’s NOT actually signing off on every action, he is ultimately responsible for.
@Mep — if Obama had to sign off on every covert op his hand would quickly be a stringy piece of spaghetti hanging off his arm…
@Stacy :
I understand your point about global change, but I hope you and Max don’t believe in Algore’s man made global warming.
@Mother, all — Re: Climate Change
TC (methanaphobe; always angrier in December)
@ gb – I believe that the President has to sign off on covert ops. But for all we know, that quaint law could’ve went the way of all things considering Rumsfeld’s “modernization” of the military and Pentagon. JSOC is running separate missions alongside the Blackwater/Xe mercenaries/Christian crusaders, so who knows what’s really going on.
Oops, I guess I shouldn’t write mean stuff about the Italian Prime minister otherwise I could be the next Amanda Knox.
oooo oooo aaaa aaaa aaaa
@Frank:
Are you in pain?
@mep
you don’t really believe that do you? that one person is in charge?
From the Newsweek article:
@ES. why? you already lose your fingernails.
@California doctor. i hope this comes into fashion. stated with the bush shoe thing.
@Phil
HAH! I wish I did it!

More on Bob Chapman

O’J ?
Or was that morale? I keep thinking we are referring to the victorian era where women went to clinics for O enhancements.
The other thread indicated that Americans are operating under an abusive system and that we need to have O’s to escape lest we fall into disease or dysentary.
So, if abuse mean’s more O’s, bring on your wild horses! And we get to have our Moral Lifted as well! Oh! Joy~in the wisdom of Europe!!!

re: HR4248

@Phil – “I love it [English breakfast]“
Well, that makes sense – it’s pretty much the same as a N. German breakfast, except they don’t serve you beer with it
Many of the comments here recently about climate change seem to have discounted the psychology of paper money currency issued by decree.
It’s coming and I welcome it with open arms.
@Bonn

Today the scientists admitted they left out the positive feedback methane emissions from the permafrost..

@ Stacy,
Anglo-saxon electorates seem to love their empathic hope-merchants (Blair, Obama), overflowing with virtue and ‘values’.
He even laid out the Grand Strategy behind interventions in Africa, Afghanistan, Iraq and beyond:
