The US now owes its foreign investors so much that the only way to have any kind of workable payback arrangement is to allow Americans to be hunted by the foreign investors.

I see a huge market for

If you look at the word Atheist in terms of it’s roots, then Buddhists are Atheist because the same derogatory connotation would have been given them since they don’t believe in a God the way the Greeks did. Other than that far-fetched argument, Buddhists believe in spirits, souls, gods, and so on. They are in a category of their own having laid claim to reason and yet maintaining a personality cult that believes in reincarnation. Of course, the Buddha didn’t speak english and his teachings were passed down indirectly by memory after his death, so we can pretend he didn’t mean God or go into how his definition of God was so very different than say a Christian’s. But still, Buddhists believe in Gods, so lets put them in the category of theists regardless of the double-speak of their cult, or whatever someone posted to Wikipedia today.

Does anyone have anything to offer on the suspension of issuance of the 30-yr Treasury bonds from February 2002 until February 2006 and how that suspension fed into the CDO/CDS mess? Insurance companies used AAA long-dated paper to pair up against long-term risk such as life insurance. Mortgage rates were benchmarked against the 30-yr paper. Would not a suspension of new supply from the Treasury have functioned as a stimulus plan for CDO issuers? Were there any CDS written against 30 year t-bonds until after 2006?

Since our fiat currency is all debt paper, would not a suspension of new debt create a contraction in money supply as old debt was rolled off rather than rolled over?

Just trying to look at one more facet of this hard, sharp lump of coal.

Any thoughts or resources?
