Stacy Summary: Fitch warns France & UK they risk losing their AAA rating. Back in Paris. I didn’t notice much snow in northern France, nor was it especially cold; in fact, it seemed warmer than normal.

Some Senators (Mitch McConnell in particular) have voiced that the current Senate Health Reform bill should be rejected because of perceived interference with free market behavior.

THERE IS NO FREE MARKET IN UNITED STATES HEALTHCARE!

The exemption from Anti-Trust regulation for insurance companies MUST be overturned.

AIG should not be permitted to have anti-trust exemption.

NO INSURER should have exemption from anti-trust.

MEDICAL GROUPS and HMO’s must comply with Anti-Trust regulations.

More importantly, the OBAMA Admin can take deliberate and visible steps to prosecute medical entities which engage in anti-trust action.

For instance, a medical corporation which corners the market on a particular drug, vaccine, or therapy should be held liable for the negative impact on the entire region by their misconduct.

Unfortunately for us, the Bush 43 team defunded federal investigators who could handle the review of these issues and the A.G. Gonzales fired the federal attorneys who successfully prosecuted in San Diego against a hospital in California that engaged in these practices.

Free Market in the USA ? It’s much more like USSR or Indonesia. Crony capitalism runned by well connected oligarchs to political prostitutes. I really don’t see a lot of differences between Obama/Bush and Elstine or Poutine.
This ain’t free markets. It’s a the new face of corporate fascism. Mussolini, Franco and Adolf Hitler would be quite comfortable in 21st century USA. This country in the next two years will be unrecognizable. Unrecognizable and scary 2010. Move to Canada. It’s safe for the moment. Don’t expect a US invasion by Obama. At least. Not yet.

well actually they said in the news in Holland that due to the snow people were exercising more. More skating, more walking an playing in the snow even I couls unpack my langlauf skies again. And made a wonderfull snowman, Still standing. Hang on snow man.

@henk – lol, don’t know what the temperature yesterday or today really matters, but if you google “temperature in paris” you will see that most say it is 37 or 38 degrees fahrenheit, having just walked about for half an hour, it feels more like 38 than freezing (32); and it was a few degrees warmer yesterday when I didn’t need to wear a scarf or gloves; and next week is due to hit mid fifties . . . hope that helps anyone wanting to travel to Paris . . .

that is a bit below “normal” . It was great fun by the way, having this mess and lots of snow. We don’t know how to cope with the the natural elements and “normal” extremes anymore.Now hopelfully we have some cold weather again and Ice. So we can go skating again. Yoohoo!

well we had 50 cm snow in the north of holland. Just like it was normal 30 years ago. Also we had mine 10 at night. Now it is 1 degree celsius. Also very normal.
