  • The Major Change in 2010 (2012)

We are constantly talking about the USD getting weaker in an index comprised of mostly Euro and Yen. These currencies move every second. What we don’t talk about with currencies are those trading partners that are pegged in some way. The two major world players with a PEG are Saudi Arabia and China. We should expect a major change to occur between 2010 and 2012. If the USD would get weaker it would be against those two currencies, not the floating currencies. This will prove out to be the next major area of world instability. This also plays into the Fannie and Freddie bailouts; to keep the status quo of the China Peg Stable.

  • Stacey I keep thinking you look like you could do with a decent dose of sunshine and fresh air. Get Max to pay for a care free 3 week holiday somewhere with white sand and palm trees. You deserve it after all for all your hard work and lets face it handling someone as dynamic as Max must be a major stressor.
Really enjoy the videos you guys make.

  • anyone know where i can find the current price for a kg of silver in GBP ?

    Cheers

  • @ frances,

    Age before beauty.

Indeed, but before both comes language. :)

A Return to Language + Beauty & IdeasA Bit of Fry of Laurie (S1:E2 & S2:E6). (The funniest sketches of the C20th imho)

  • Rien comme un bon Veuve Clicquot ou un Pommeroy, A lot of golden and silver bubbles for 2010. Bubbles increase the alcool punch. 2010 will the year of the END of the FED. Might as well do a little of Nostradamus for the end of the year. Super blue moon on december 31st 2009. Don’t know what it means.
Bonne année grand nez. Toi aussi grandes dents.

  • @stacy, max and all

    Cheers! and Happy New Year!

  • btw, ^ that’s partly a parody and partly an exposition of this: John Searle & Bryan Magee on The Philosophy of Language, & Wittgenstein.

  • FRANKLYHOPING: YOU HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR, Mr. Frank, Hope.

I think beauty is truth, right? Stacey: if so then it is inherently beautiful and negligent of care or desire or age.

    HarryW:
Happy New Year to the thinker.

Mep: Nice ideas of canning! I’m going to make guava jam this year.

Phil/Germany: Give Lilly an extra catnip toast for me!

  • Happy New Year to Stacy and Max from the West.

If I drank alcoholic beverages, I would be lifting a glass of locally produced (Lake County, California) wine or “champagne.”

  • On canning and other survival skills… I guess I am lucky that my grandparents raised me (I am around Max’s age). They lived through the Great Depression #1 and taught me all sorts of useful skills: gardening, canning, use of shop tools and firearms, and the ethic of repairing rather than replacing.

  • Hey Folks.
    Happy New Year :)

  • Max & Stacey,

Thank you for your commentary and adding humor to complex information, which allows us to ingest it and assimilate most of it.

It sure beats all those COPROPHOGIST’S out there.(This should be the word of the year!)

    Happy New Years Everyone!!

  • Hey S&M,

    Unfortunately in a bad way.

Jupiter in real good position for a nice fantastic year. 2009 was a superb year for the mafia at Goldman Sachs.

  • At least, for the new year’s celebration with or without economic problems, everybody deserves good music and dance.

Boney M’s Brown girl in the ring. enjoy!

I think I had the most number of 1sts on the comment board this year!!!!

Russia Today has now green lit the “Keiser Report” for 2 X’s a week to air Tuesdays and Thursdays.
    ————-

When it comes to the number of active transmitters, frequencies and programming hours — Radio Moscow was never displaced from its place of supremacy over the airwaves.

    – Note that the Ministry of Communications had control over all of the USSRs external broadcasting assets from 1939-Present.

    – The USSR did not have the kind of fuel crisis that made the West totally redo its broadcasting into the USSR after the 1st OPEC shock.

Some aspects of this tradition seem to have carried over to the wussier and prisser satliite television technology era.

It is a shame an audio only version of your program is not running on “The Voice of Russia”…

  • Well, it’s now New Year in Bongcouver…

As I type this, Many Large Explosives are being set off for fun…

Unless there’s someone in Alaska or Hawaii, I’m probably the last one to write this…
    Have an un-sad Fuckin 2010…
I wonder if Marmite is flammable?

  • Wishing you both a very happy and prosperous new year. Fireworks were fantastic… even when we lit one upside down.

  • Real potent stuff. Don’t drink too much. You will need to stay sober for the rest of the year. These mega bears are always short on solutions. Happy new year but don’t celebrate too long and live one day at a time.

  • This in thought to Max and Stacey’s concern about the planet’s state: is this a crisis of economics or nature? Are we being reigned in for a new paradigm or a new planet?

    Keep Silence

    Passing
    Sawdust strewn to muffle
    As a scarf mutes sound
    Issues forth a sign
    Less a sigh
    Breathed heavily

    Let it pass
    Held tightly, infantile grasp
    Herald of dawn
    Lithe step-song of morning
    Life to relinquish
    Time’s softening impulse

    Passing now
    Clouds envelope
    Contain the gaze
    Of a marble countenance
    Cold and light at once
    Upon the earth

    Shadow of the moon
    Harbinger of life’s loss
    Darkness and light
    Held by heaven and hell
    As time holds
    The soft rain-dew
    Upon the grass

  • @BLINK NOW asking “… anyone know where i can find the current price for a kg of silver in GBP ?…” One way is to go from here

    http://www.cash.ch/boerse/kursinfo/fullquote/Silber-Fixings/274706/176/1

    to here

    http://www.cash.ch/boerse/jsp/boerse/devisen_zinsen/devisenrechner/devisenrechner.jsf

the average price of 1 kg of Silver at the average cross rate was 336 and a few pips UK £ at the close on 31 Dec 09. Just in case: during trading hours the quotes “Geld” = bid, buy and “Brief” = ask, sell. The rest is self explanatory, I assume. se&o

Silver lining to you for y ten past eight

  • @all – Happy New Year

I wish for everyone here that 2010 may be their best year yet, and that it may foster hope and joy in all of our hearts and minds, for a sustainable future, for ourselves and our children!

Thanks to Stacy and Max for being such cheerful and amusing luminaries, and for dedicating themselves to a difficult and risky endeavor.

Cheers! …et merde à la puissance treize! ;)

  • @Stacey&Max

Thank you guys for being so creative and pleasant with your coverage! It’s great to see you getting picked up by RT now as well. Who knows – when this bear market hits its next wave down, you and Max might get a show on, dare I say, main stream news?? You certainly deserve it!

    Have a great new year.

    D

  • A champagne-y cheers to you all!

  • @Max, Stacy, and Team, Cheers! This year could see the last of the bubbles.
