I think I will give up trying to rally max and stacey on the climate change issue – I reckon Max and Stacey may have something to gain from this whole climate change crap. Greenpeace being an activist organization on karmabanque – though that is mere speculation and more research is warranted. Anyone not already a true believer who has seen the coverage in climate depot or the CRU e-mails is at least now skeptical on the science and usually refrains from using the word “denier”. Re climate change – please max – we all know it’s happening. It’s the science of it that’s in question. Surely we can have a cleaner environment without setting an artificial limit (government intervention again) on supply – I’m sure if you went into the economics behind it you would also be able to follow the money. It’s not a tax for more garbage men to come clean stuff up put simply.

That does not take away much from what you guys do generally in regards to the financial side of things, I would recommend this site to others who want to learn more about banking, finance and economics – I would recommend climatedepot to those wanting an antithesis on Mr. Gore’s global warming now climate change agenda.

I notice that Max does stop short on his videos of delving into the topic too much, his audio shows on the other hand… another story. In as much as Mr. Keiser respectfully disagreed with Alex Jones re peak oil I think that in recognition of Max’s work in explaining finance we should respectfully disagree with him.

On that note perhaps we should ask Max where he stands on what the solution to dollar hegemony would be? One world government/central bank? Or just a move to a basket of currencies as was discussed by the Standard Chartered dude in his interview in death of the dollar.

On the whole though – thanks for making this subject interesting again.

Yeah, true enough, the O’Shansky (sp?) battery patent which replaced the Delco lead-acid abortion in the EV1 (increased range from 80 miles to 120 miles per charge, and more importantly, didn’t crap out after 10 months but rather, lasts seemingly forever!), was purchased by BigOil. Apparently, that O’Shansky battery was such a TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCE that they realized it would put them out of business, since most electricity (in the states) comes from COAL.

I wish the big mining companies were more adept at anticipating what was going on , and OUTBID Chevron for the patent!!! Think of how much more COAL they could have sold if O’Shansky’s battery had seen mass production!

Seeing as puchasing a patent to prevent competitive innovation used to be illegal but is now seeming legal, you’d think the ACLU would have something to say about it.

I love Irwin Schiff’s (PS, and AS’s dad, currently in jail for not succumbing to the IRS) statement: ” The ACLU can’t worry about the IRS, but steadfastly protects Neo-Nazis marching in Skokie.”

You’re right, actually, the earth has been cooling for the past 9 years, if you only look at Rural Temperatures (the only temperatures that matter). Just because its hotter near black asphalt, chimneys, and air conditioning condenser units doesn’t cut the mustard.

One thing the hysterical people never mention, is that, during the Medaeval Warm Period, (when it was warmer than it is today, and the ‘permafrost’ melted to a greater degree than it has done today, and Greenland was actually GREEN), is that the period is associated with RICHES. All the great cathedrals in Europe and England were built during this time, and street names like Winery Way, The Vineyard, were ‘memories’ of a warmer, wealthier time in Britain. It’s an inconvenient Truth, so the only people I’ve heard mentioning it is The Russians, who’ve stated they hope the earth gets warmer.

They’re aren’t going to get their wish: the globe is getting colder for the next several years.

You’re right, agreed that it would take ‘Powerful Forces’ to make big corporations like Exxon, BP, and Chevron ‘CowTow’ to AGW.

But… Look who is in O’bama’s cabinet:

1). No one from unions
2). No one from industry.
3). No one from mining.
4). No one from farming.

Everyone is from the banking industry, or the military. That’s a really SCARY combination, and even the Chairman of Exxon ‘might be dumb but he’s not Stupid’.

To see what COST a CEO has to pay for not acquiescing to the gov’t, look at the telecoms. All telecoms (ATT, Verizon, Sprint, etc) agreed to tap people’s phone lines, with the exception of Quest, whose (FORMER) CEO is now in jail for insider trading.

Just a coincidence? I highly doubt it.

Excellent video Max and Stacy. Dr. Batra has it right; the American people aren’t stupid, the political system is bought and paid for by corrupt elements. In alot of countries, there would have been rioting in the streets by now. Not so in the United States. Why? Good question. I think the ruling elites are living in a coccoon; they have no clue as to how much damage they have done to the REAL economy–not that they would care much if they did. You don’t hear about the problems in the economy because the US media is VERY tightly controlled–mostly by the very same folks who benefit from the status quo. Awareness of how deeply flawed/corrupt the American system really is will grow in parallel to the growing unemployment rate. Hungry tummies feed revolutions.Then there will be a MAJOR crisis. The ruling elites may have to impose their threat of martial law. Most likely it won’t be a pretty picture.

The way I see it , global warming is called Summer and global cooling is called Winter. Its easy. I have lived in Florida for 30 years and this past summer was not any hotter than when I moved here 30 years ago. As far as cold goes , it does get cold here in the winter . Some winters are colder than others but I don’t see any change over my 30 years living here. For what its worth I think global warming is BS and just a way to tax the crap out of people . And when global warming does not happen they can say they stopped it and saved us all . What a crock of BS. Im sure no one wants to breath polluted air or drink polluted water. But I think well meaning people have been duped on a move towards world government .

Capitalism? Adam Smith described what he observed occuring in his society and others. Marx was writing about what would or could occur as a future organization. The Free Market is essentially a natural state of Man. Sure Man freely traded with other Men 3000 years ago. Man also created Totalitarian/Marxist states (Maximus 2000 years ago in Rome) confiscating private property. Smith observed that the smaller the government, generally the better the society based on his observation. Marxist/Totalitarian regimes destroyed Rome and others well before Marx codified his theories.

In many ways the income differences have sharply narrowed. For example, there are a billion Chindians that have joined the global middle class. So the difference between the average Western citizen and Asian has sharply narrowed. Also, the difference between African and white US wage earners is sharply narrowed. Also, the difference bewteen the top 10% caucasian US and bottom 20% US caucasian wage earners is also sharply narrowed.

I really like dr. batra’s ideas. max – it would be great if you could contrast his theories on wage stagnation with Mike Shedlock’s theories on over-powerful unions. Though he is right most of the time, Shedlock constantly rails against unions, seeing them as kneecapping industry. Seems like the power of unions needs more discussion. If anyone doubts what unions can do for the average working person in America, I suggest you watch the 1970′s documentary Harlan County USA. The money flow and pressure is becoming actually more predictable to the citizens.

We can see the source of the pressure.

We can also see the “lay of the land” and predict where the next deluge is trying to flood us.

@henk – but the entire Thatcher revolution was only possible because of North Sea oil; if it weren’t for that, there would have been no massive subsidies for housing and the ability to fire huge swathes of industrial workers would not have been possible without the oil revenue; the ‘oil curse’ made ‘no such thing as society’ possible because the govt doesn’t need the taxpayer when oil is freely available to tap; I do know that Thatcher pushed through the nuclear boondoggle which I believe ended up costing the British taxpayer a fortune, but I can’t see that she would have been against the free tax revenue of the North Sea oil

I know from behind the scenes that profit of the carbon trade is huge. Much bigger in the future then delivering goods. And I have to be Honoused these people didn’t care about the environment. Only about money.

The IRS will assume you have made “black money” and tax you accordingly.

Bet your bottom dollar that it’s all a scandary with the gold book keeping cause they sell gold but keep it on their books for gold suppression reasons. Counting gold double has been done for years. A Central banker will always lie about two things , interest rates and gold. The gold has been derived through multiple gold lease contracts as such creating phantom gold.

If you can make arrangements under the table with your gold creditors for cash settlements the gold market is undermined and pushed down from it’s actual value. It isn’t a gold market anymore. Gold should be at $1,500 already. One simply can’t push Gold back into the Lease wonder-lamp forever it has to come out eventually to grant you golden honest wishes. Happy New Year Folks!

@Phil /Germany – yes, I know; I am just curious to know how it is that somehow only George Soros and Al Gore (who both happen to be labeled ‘liberal’) are uniquely able to control the world; whereas, I don’t see any mention of the names behind the corporations, for example, that have been able to prevent entire technologies (electric cars) from being developed and that also managed to get America to build an infrastructure system based almost entirely around the car, with very little public transport. I would like to know why many believe the men behind big oil and big military are so helpless in the face of these two men, Soros and Gore? It reminds me a bit of the belief that somehow the world’s only Superpower is facing an existential threat from one man in a cave in Afghanistan; so I’m curious to hear from those who believe in a Gore conspiracy why or how it is that he is so much more powerful than Cheney or the House of Saud. From where does he derive his greater power than Cheney, Exxon or House of Saud? I haven’t heard their response yet, but I would like to hear it.

Man, of all the segments that you could have picked from Silly O’Reilly, this one takes the cake.

The first segment was the only time Reilly told the truth!
Max is dead wrong about corporatism. General Electric (the USA Conglomerate) is staking the whole company on fooling the public with this ongoing sillyness.
This whole scene verifies Bob Prechter knows what he’s talking about with Socionomics.

A la Joseph Goebells, they just happened to pick Carbon Dioxide as a poison. They’d have an easier job picking either distilled water as a dangerous poison, or Oxygen. All 3 are basic building blocks of life, but when you just lie and lie and lie, pretty soon all weak minds start believing it.
I think Max is beyond hope…. Too many bongs.
Stacy seems much more reasonable, and seems much more like the woman Lord Monckton chatted with at Copenhagen. In other words, goes around with the popular beliefs, but is not so incorrigible that she’s not willing to hear an unheard other side of the story.

Re: Peter Schiff, and Robert Prechter, (Andrew S. is my broker, btw), Prechter says that there is a Big Difference between Currency and Credit. In other workds, once you print money, unless you use it to:
1). Line Wheelbarrows
2). Wallpaper your wall
3). or, for Toilet Paper
the money Stays in existence. Credit is different in that in can collapse, therefore, there is going to be a big deflation first. Bernake is providing credit, (loans), not flying his helicopter.

Horror of horrors, Andrew has me invested in BioFuels. I acquiesced due to a supposed 5 year contract, and I said that I don’t mind investing in silliness, but I don’t trust the general public to be fooled about Global Warming for 5 years. I’m going to dump that stock at the first sign of weakness. Besides, I don’t like being a hypocrite.

I hate to be a one-trick-pony, but extreme silliness gets me going, especially since Max constantly calls us americans stupid…. Try looking in the mirror sometime Max, or lay of the bongs for a while. As mentioned, Stacy seems much more open-minded.

Money .. by making sure the “Establishment” never changes !
“Change” .. is what makes them afraid !
“Yes we can” … says “nothing” !

In ca. 1970 ( a repeat I know ), I remember the UK TV program called “Tomorrow’s World” demonstrating a Ford Capri using a Benzine/Water 50/50 Mix, via an ultrasonic mixer placed just before the carburetta !
Cheap and simple !

Never heard from it again .. of course.

I suppose that’s just another Patent that got shelved for Millions of Dollars.

The guest Ravi Batra’s theory is probably more complicated than it sounds..What I don’t get is that wages are payed out of revenues, so is he saying that progressively more revenues have been funnelled into the banking sysyem and replaced by government loans? If so, where did al the money go? and if not how can companies pay more if they do not make more?

I agree that O’Reilly is full of S#!+, but I’d like to put the Global Warming stuff in perspective.

Warming/Cooling is tied directly to the Solar Cycles. We also see the same patterns of warming and cooling on Mars, and to my knowledge man is not responsible for environmental change there…

California wild fires are continuously made worse because of state law that prohibits the disking of land near housing when fires break out. This is supposed to protect some wild field mouse.

Warming and Cooling happens. I do not believe the correlation is tied to CO2.

Remember, the drive for this new religion is to impose a new trading scheme for carbon that was designed by the Enron crowd…

I’m surprised that Ravi didn’t talk about the “Money System” in general … rather than “just” the wage/productivity balance. A sort of “chicken or egg” discussion I suppose.

A distinguished journalist–Russ Baker–has now demonstrated that GHW Bush was a lifelong CIA man; he has brought to light abundance evidence of Bush & CIA connections to Nov. 22, 1963; he has shown that Bob Woodward was working within a CIA plot to bring down Nixon, and was quite likely placed at the WaPo, the CIA’s favorite newspaper, by General Haig. 3 presidents–JFK, Nixon, and Carter–crossed CIA and paid for it, and that since 1980 the Company has been in the saddle.

We also know that Obama’s first job after graduation from Columbia, 1983, was with CIA front company Business International Corporation; in _Dreams from my Father_ he describes it as a consulting house to international corporations. Obama’s career, like GHW Bush’s, shows all kinds of lacunae and apparent contradictions.

And none of this excites the curiosity of journalists who consider Watergate the high-point of muckraking…
