The precious metals (Gold, Silver, Platinum, Palladium) are a basket to hedge against inflation, not just one explicit bet.

Lek, I think the US ships being attacked in the Med may have had something to do with the declaration of Independence and how much that angered the banking set in London. It would have been typical for the bankers to ensure that those ships were attacked in the hope that the free US would beg the british for help and thus prove that thet would have been better off back in the empire and its protection racket!!
The you tube shows extremists religious leaders – All religions have there extremists it isnt limited to the muslim faith. The UK has exploited religious fanatics many times in history when it suits there economic interests and goals! Infact i think that the war on terror is exploitation of the muslim faith and demonising a massive set of people which causes hatred! The uk bankers also exploited drugs during the opium wars! They will exploit any under hand means available to achieve the required result.

Come on Max. The Icelanders think only about the marbles and not about standing up against the banker mafia. If a new bubble could arise and land them some kronas they jump on it again in a second and all is forgotten. However that bubble won’t come in a long time if ever. Your piece of opinion is wishful thinking. It will take many more Iceland’s before there will be a real turn in conscience. Too many are still staked in the current systems.

  6. FreeMarkets?

Its a bit early in the year, but the IMF winn the prize for biggest ponzi scheme!
I hope that the Icelandic issue gets the coverage and exposure it deserves! I hope that the thugs in london get egg on there faces!

  11. @ naomi – I think Turkey is getting in the game, too. Didn’t Sibel Edmonds complain that Turkish agents had infiltrated the FBI while she was there?

  12. Iceland is a test. Because naturally it will be turn for Ireland to be litterally raped. And after that the UK, the US. It’s already the case mind you, but rest assured in both case the same faith awaits Ireland, UK, Greece. Greece is next to get the tasty medecine. Knowing the Greeks, you can be assured that they are going to burn and bomb a lot of banks there.

  13. It’s extortion. Paying the mafia for “protection” doesn’t put people “some ways down the road of recovery” either.

  14. FranSix, “On the reverse side of the coin with Iceland, if they take their medicine like the banking world wants them to, then they are already quite some ways down the road of recovery.”

Oh no. Then they’re debt slaves. This isn’t like a mortgage where during you get to live in a house and at the end of it you get to own a house. This is like paying the mortgage on the investors’ house that burned down to the ground. It is between the investors and the bank that sold them a house made of matches, not the investors and the Icelandic public at large.

From the richest man in Babylon I got the phrase “an honest man repays and honest debt” and I live by it. But only a fool would repay a dishonest debt. It isn’t the Icelandic public’s debt.

  17. Adrian Salbuchi’s latest video on some 2010 predictions focuses on a series of steps which appear to lead to an end-run for world government.

The problem. therefore, is that we, (society as a whole,) really need to spell-out (and explain for the less acute) what each prior war & various acts of aggresion and subterfuge have caused as a result. …Who has all the Money, the Power to control, by blackmail, and by proxy, and Why? How can we ‘reclaim’ that what must be reserved and made available to support the common good? Billions for bail-outs, not a dollar for banks to loan? But, don’t cry for me, Argentina!

@marietta – Thanks for the Denninger post on the DOL soliciting comments on having IRA and 401k balances annuitized..This combined with the SECs money market proposed exception for immediate withdrawal requirements for funds that break the buck are, well, to me scary and telling. These are encroachments on a savers’ liquidity. Taken to an extreme, you won’t be able to cash out your retirement savings or your money market balance if you want whatever the reason. Many people take a lump sum at retirement to pay off debt to reduce cash flow needs. These two parallel issues are worth watching closely. thanks again.

  43. Brit Hume and Ben Stein, not only allowed in public, but right there on the got darn teleeveesion!

When the collapse of America is considered in retrospect, the fact that those two thumpers were allowed to assault the world in high resolution during daylight hours will be seen as an indicator of the failed state.

We’ve been looking mostly at classic signs that indicate End of Empire; and while some are no doubt timeless and indicative, others depend on available technology and the structure of the particular state that is about to implode.

Brit Hume and Ben Stein on TV: like a buring fuse on a bomb yelling “look at meeeee!!!!”

  44. Problem with invading Iceland is that it tends to be harder to convince Boobus Britannicus or Boobus Americanus that people with blond hair and blue eyes are the bad guys. So much easier if the ‘enemy’ happens to be brown skinned, wears a long beard and prays 6 times a day.

  45. @FranSix
the only problem is that Iceland doesnt have nukes or a surplus of millions of young males with no marriage prospects, no job and who would jump at the chance to join the army.

  46. On the reverse side of the coin with Iceland, if they take their medicine like the banking world wants them to, then they are already quite some ways down the road of recovery. A costly mistake, its true, but not one to be repeated any time soon.

But I really think that what was done offering savers a higher rate of interest was not really legal after all, so they should focus on the legal question a little more firmly. It works for China.

Now, as far as their sovereign bond market goes, its no use, they’re already penalized to the maximum. I wonder if anyone gets the idea of snapping up some 30-year Icelandic long bonds.

  52. @ naomi – I agree with you 100%, although I don’t know how we go about “getting our government back.” Much is made of Ackmadinnerjacket’s denial of the holocaust, but as awful as that is, I don’t see where it differs from Turkish groups lobbying our government to deny the Armenian genocide, or Israeli groups pushing our government to deny the Goldstone report or the ethic cleansing & illegal occupation in the West Bank. 57. Testimony of Chairman Alan Greenspan – The regulation of OTC derivatives, Before the Committee on Banking and Financial Services, U.S. House of Representatives, July 24, 1998

“The vast majority of privately negotiated OTC contracts are settled in cash rather than through delivery. Cash settlement typically is based on a rate or price in a highly liquid market with a very large or virtually unlimited deliverable supply, for example, LIBOR or the spot dollar-yen exchange rate. To be sure, there are a limited number of OTC derivative contracts that apply to nonfinancial underlying assets. There is a significant business in oil-based derivatives, for example. But unlike farm crops, especially near the end of a crop season, private counterparties in oil contracts have virtually no ability to restrict the worldwide supply of this commodity. (Even OPEC has been less than successful over the years.) Nor can private counterparties restrict supplies of gold, another commodity whose derivatives are often traded over-the-counter, where central banks stand ready to lease gold in increasing quantities should the price rise.”

William S. White June stipulated in 2005 ( head of the Monetary and Economic Department of the Bank of International Settlements in Basel ):

‘one of the five main purposes of central bank cooperation is the provision of international credits and joint efforts to influence asset prices

    – especially gold and foreign exchange – in circumstances where this might be thoughtful’.

Australian Central Bank 2003: ‘foreign currency reserves and gold are held primarily to support intervention in the foreign exchange markets’!

One thing people in the US don’t realize is that if an MD states flu-like symptoms as the final diagnosis, that statement actually codes to influenza virus in the ICD-9CM. Americans Oppose Initiatives Limiting 401(k) Choices, ICI Says

    January 08, 2010, 10:28 AM EST
    By Jeff Plungis

Jan. 8 (Bloomberg) — U.S. investors oppose federal initiatives that would force them to give up control over their 401(k) accounts, the Investment Company Institute said.

Seven in 10 U.S. households object to the idea of the government requiring retirees to convert part of their savings into annuities guaranteeing a steady payment for life, according to an institute-funded report today.

“Households’ views on policy changes revealed a preference to preserve retirement account features and flexibility,” the institute, which represents the mutual-fund industry, said in the report.

The U.S. Treasury and Labor Departments will ask for public comment as soon as next week on ways to promote the conversion of 401(k) savings and Individual Retirement Accounts into annuities or other steady payment streams, according to Assistant Labor Secretary Phyllis C. Borzi and Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary Mark Iwry, who are spearheading the effort….

    Denninger …

There Is NO Economic Recovery Happening

Look folks, this is really quite simple.

Economic Stability and Recovery = Credit Expansion.

We cannot recover until we purge the excess debt from the system, and the longer we take to do that, the longer the pain will last and the worse it will be.

President Obama and Tim Geithner know this – that’s why they are constantly harping on banks to “lend more.”

Well, they may want banks to lend more but the people are fed up with being debt slaves and are borrowing less.

Today, we got the latest from The Fed on this subject:

…. Consumer credit decreased at an annual rate of 8-1/2 percent in November. Revolving credit decreased at an annual rate of 18-1/2 percent, and nonrevolving credit decreased at an annual rate of 3 percent. …

I have updated the charts, and this is where we are as of November:

“You can only lie about two things: interest and gold.”

The idea that the governments would look to exchange this dope for cash seems consistent at least. I wonder what consequences the sale could have? If the stuff is poison, Lex Luther will buy it. If it was harmless rubbish, presumably no one will want it.

The advice to the people of Iceland to give Brown and his bankster cronies the finger. The Chris Powell interview about gold market rigging. YEAH! I like this…

  103. Casper Studly

Pitchforks and torches! To the castle, men! Also plenty sythes. Um.. you know.. big knives on sticks. Lots of ‘em. To the castle!

  104. @Mongo. there in aisle 6.

  105. so they’ve been holding up the stock market with the bond market. which goes first. everybody’s fucking pension. bonds. jims bond

  106. Anybody know where one can view the current sovereign credit rating for countries?

  107. @Skippy. true it didn’t reach timmys desk but it left his fucking desk.

  108. MY GOD! That clip with Ron Paul.. takes “jibber jabber” to a new level!

Max, the word you should use is CLUSTERFUCK!

  109. @marietta. jeesfucplease watch max’s plea for india to buy gold and dump the dollar. gattaboy said india didn’t get any fucking gold. if you want data listen more carefully to the audio. i admire you interest

  110. so the decision to with hold information regarding AIG did not reach teh level of GEithner desk ? Okay fine.
What if we hang the guys whose desk it did get to. I dont really care about which level as long as we at least begin some accountability, cause I am thinking ~ eventually as heads roll someone will rollover on someone above them, not everyone is a loyal as Libby.

  111. @ron ron
Actually he said now that India and China are accumulating gold on the open market, which country is going to control the gold market? That’s not a recomendation.

I’m just trying to sort out all these different theories. There are a lot of conflicting theories that people support with references but sometimes if you compare 2 theories against one another they cant’ both be true.

  112. the old 3 fucking 60. hasn’t been used in years.

  113. is pimco doing a 360 pump and dump?

  114. Nice to see a new fresh healthy photo of Stacy used on the show instead of the gray one from previous episodes.

About Iceland; how can the people win the fight when all a NO vote will do is to throw away the latest British and Dutch friendly bill, for then to go back to the August 09 bill that is already passed by parliament and signed by the president, which states that the people have to pay (though with ceiling on the repayment that the British and Dutch didn’t like).

  115. @marietta. cause max was telling india what they should do. i think maybe mother earth has some very good points that never crossed my fucking mind. i’m not ascared any more.

  119. So then India is not going to work against the interests of US/IMF so why does max think India is ready to dump dollars and join up with China

  120. i thought max was gonna say clusterfuck. my gold is fucked.

  124. protectors *of*

  125. @ Naomi – Israel is worried that the world is turning against it. Boycotts against Israel are picking up steam. I read the other day that Israel’s leaders are afraid to travel to Britain b/c they fear arrests for war crimes. So all of the protectors or war criminals are antsy.

Interestingly, I just saw a travel commercial a few days ago promoting travel to Israel. I’ve never, ever seen such an ad before.

  126. And of course they have Ben Stein on to shout out Ron Paul and call him anti semitic because Ron Paul has been critical of Israel.

I’ll tell you, you can’t speak badly of Israel’s policies and the role of IAPAC in the government of the US without incurring the rath of the ADL, JDL and main stream media itself.

How pathetic. Reason is lost when Ben Stein and the likes of him are allowed to lie and smear unchallenged. Ben Stein was on Larry King, calling Paul anti-semtic. Ron Paul’s son who is running for office has been on this hit list as well.

Anytime anybody and I mean anybody says anything untoward about Israel and the illegal support of Israel by the US is labeled. Then the pro-Israeli media trots out the word Hollocaust to keep everyone in line and silent. This has nothing to do with concentration camps in the second world war. Nothing. They know it and the people that they use it against know it as well, but they are drowned out by the machine.

Look at the names of the Bankers and chairmen of the Fed. If these sir names were Italian we would call them the mafia…….it’s just that the names sound like the first chapter of the Old Testament and we must not point that out.

  127. thanks ME

  128. Ben Stein is a jackass has-been. American Jews pretty much unanimously wish that he’d get off their team.

As one of those aforementioned tribe-members, I can safely say that American foreign policy is at least somewhat responsible for terrorism.

I have no friggin’ idea what Ben Stein is talking about when he calls that position “anti-semitic”. But let’s not forget, this is a man who also doesn’t believe in Evolution. (Why do we let him appear on TV again?)

On the other hand — I’ve got to disagree somewhat with Ron Paul. India, Thailand, Malaysia, Phillipines, and a host of other nations also have a similarly *big* problem with Islamic terrorism. You can’t go blaming every nation’s foreign policy for these Islamic fundeamentalist assh*les and their culture of setting off bombs in public places. At some point you have to point the finger at Islam and say, wtf? Why are you guys the only ones blowing up the local market?

  129. The Underfundedmentalist

Looks like we’re being prepared for this,
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Friday_(1869)
Jay Gould was rumored to have said,
“I could hire half the workers to kill the other half”
    or something to that effect.
I wonder what India really bought, protection?

  130. GATA is at it for years now, and there was this memo of the Dutch bank about the fact that there was structurally not enough gold to back all moneys up without the price skyrocketing. The IMF rules say it recieves and keeps gold that is given as interest payment on their fiat loans to African countries, and they keep that in Zurich afaik (so strange that source was not known to honourable interviewee). That in fact (again afaik) is the only money the IMF manages autonomously. Africa still produces gold, witness the fact Zimbabweans used it as currency (paydirt, 2008) and one of its ministers was blocked from exporting a considerable amount to Switzerland for conversion into bullion recently by the U-fuckin-K. Ergo I am not that doubtfull IMF has those 403-200 tons in store. Small chance India has been conned into trust based on the nuclear assistance, but that country has been sucking up gold and silver since the beginning of time and they are damn smart and assertive to ( must be the diet). My guess was the IMF bought India as an ally against China in return for some appeasement in Pakistand an nuclear secretions..

  134. @all
does anyone know how it is possible for India to have bought tons and tons of gold from the IMF and there be no gold there?

  135. @RichHead
you have to be careful… there will always be people trying to get other to do there dirty work only to double cross them later… all you should worry about is your own contribution and try and lead by example… talk is cheap and spit don’t make baies… and don’t be suprised if a lot of the people on this site and in the media distance themselves and say you have been… er… co-opted the minute any trouble starts!!!

  136. Can all Israeli art students on this site please fuck off.

  137. @Tofu Charlie

since i have heard ron paul talk about “blowback” and “unintended consequences” in other interviews, i assume he prescribes more to the oops accident theory. however, i also assume that the power elite will take their terrorism any way they can get it.

  138. @ Underfunded – Yes, but because Somalia turns a profit, we’re starving the Somalians:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/07/world/africa/07somalia.html

  139. @White Hunter — guess I meant: is Ron Paul saying that it is intentional; i.e. to provoke terrorism, creating a feedback loop to support the military-industrial-financial complex (as well as being seen to be defensive and reactive and justify perpetual war/occupation) — rather than the “Oops, blowback” accident-theory, which seems more karmic…

Expect Iceland to return to the dragonships of old.

    @DH

I don’t know anymore man. I still know people here in the states that argue for what has transpired and they are completly irgnorant they are arguing for their own demise. There are no words for this anymore. I swear to Gumbi.

  142. @Tofu Charlie

I doubt that ron paul would ever argue karma given that he is a self proclaimed christian. i think he is talking about a simple cause and effect that is much less in scope than karma, hower, i enjoy the application of the concept of karma in these instances and consider it to be artistic license.

  143. @DH
Apathy???… don’t be so hard on yourself… theres always tomorrow… just polish up the pitchfork and get out there when you can!!!

10 more times paper gold than the real stuff !
And for silver which I fell in love with, it’s 111 or probably even more !

If you have paper gold or paper silver you will be screwed. Get physical and never ming the crooks on the COMEX and the LME. Hope the COMEX and the LME go bankrupt.

  145. One of the fairest Ron Paul interviews I’ve seen:

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#34738521

(From the Rachel Maddow show, 2 days ago.)

  146. Is Ron Paul arguing Karma? …or provocateurism?

  147. wasn’t one of the reasons that the u.s. occupied iraq that saddam hussein began accepting euros rather than the dollar for oil payments?

  148. Brit Hume is a bloated whale whose career should be over, as well as his tenure as a human being. My message to Brit Hume is: do you taste like a bloated whale, or do you retain some remnant of human flavor? I would recommend that the hungry US populace cannibalize you immediately, but only if you still taste like a human. If you taste like the bloated whale that you are, the people will have to melt you down into a viscous oil because blubber is inedible. My point is that until we can answer the whale or human flavor issue, it is up for debate whether you are worth more than Tiger Woods.

  150. END THE FED and put this Bernanké bum in prison. Indeed. Not just the gold thing. These people have ruined the USA and are transforming this country in third world power like the USSR.

  151. Dr. Richard Head

Guess they are a comin’ a blazin’ for your 401K’s and IRA’s. God I am glad I go out of the paper game. The way I figure it, any money savings that allowed for tax deferral for participation will be in the aim of the Obama administration for the continuation of the ponzi known as America. http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-01-08/retiree-annuities-may-be-pushed-by-obama-after-market-losses.html

If this shot across the bow of the American people does not bring out the pitch forks, then they all deserve to lose every fucking thing they have. I am so fucking sick of the apathy.

  152. @Marc the terrorist declaration was just to justify/allow the UK to seize Icelandic assets – but that’s where it gets interesting. As I understand things, the repayment demand from the UK and Netherlands is GBP 3.6bn, but the UK has already seized GBP 4bn in assets. Is it now just a question of who blinks first? The whole Icelandic referendum seems moot, but I guess even Brown has his limits as to how thuggish he’s willing to appear.

  153. That’s Pimp-Co Max ? Ok.

  154. fionns dragon

    hi max n stacy.
    enjoying the show
by the way theres a glitch in the audio in part 2 at about 2.40
really looking forward to truth about markets tomorrow.its been a long wait

  155. Iceland declared terrorist state by UK. Does Gordon Brownshirt from UK intend invading Iceland ? Anyone that doesn’t agree with the US or UK is automatically labeled as terrorist.

  156. If india bought gold from the IMF that wasn’t there, should’nt they be screaming bloody murder?
did they not take delivery or do they know this and got something else for there dollars?
    just askin.
