  1. Max, Stacy,
I live in the UK and sometimes despair of the ‘entertainment’ aspect of news reporting.

Paxman is NOT an apologist of the bankers. When he retires, British TV will lose one of its few thinking presenters.

He had Janet Tavakoli and Vince Cable on Newsnight the other evening discussing the first day of the US CCIC – Vince jokingly apologised for the fact the he and Janet were agreeing on everything (Janet was VERY dismissive of the SEC in one her comments) – Paxo’s reply was wonderful! ‘It’s better to have two wise people agreeing than two idiots disagreeing’

  2. the tiger solution isnt religion, its never get married foo!

think of it, if he wasnt married none of this would of happened. on the contrary, he would be lauded as a stud by guys and a hot piece of man tofu by women. but noooo, just had to get married right tiger? you could of been a stud! now your just a ruined piece of man cad. dont get married! its a scam hatched by hot seductresses like stacy herbert who lure you in with their siren song of financial pimping terrorists!

“Of course, a number of other factors such as an anticipated global economic revival, new investment cash, index/fund buying, a weaker U.S. dollar, concern over labor disruptions, have also contributed to overshadow bearish indications of the copper inventory build-up.”

Youri: where is that anticipated global revival hiding? I don’t think it’s coming out of Basel Committee where the news is that ‘liquidity buffers”, “capital adequacy ratios”, and new accounting rules for securitization will precipitate a contraction globally in markets.

A weaker U.S. dollar: this is the seller, eh? Chapman said the dollar would reach 72 before the G20 last November. Chapman was wrong.

  5. Stacy: Actually, Islam limits the number of wives to four. If he wants more, he can convert to Christianity or Judaism.

And if Tiger Woods were Muslim (and living under Sharia), he probably wouldn’t have cheated knowing the consequence would be death… ; )

Given the traditional distrust of paper investments by the 1.5 billion Chinese citizens, and China’s continued economic growth (Fig. 2), god is poised to benefit the most from the expected shift in investment since gold shares most of the “hard assets” characteristics of the real property.

What an unfortunated typo: you should alert your ‘twitter pal’ , Youri. It read well to me, though, seeing as her assurances about China’s gold appetite are based mostly on fancy.

“I am delighted to see what China did because some of the real estate in China was getting into a serious bubble. It’s good for China and therefore good for most of us. They need to cool off their economy. They cannot get it too strong but China does not control the commodities market by any stretch of the imagination,” Jim Rogers said.”

Cause the buying up of MBS does notin for them.

Well, it continues the securitization upon which the entire housing bubble was and is dependent. It undergirds the commercial real estate market which provides a vehicle for jobs. It keeps the spreads low and lubricates the system: the low-mortgage interest rate on loans is supported by Talf.

    It’s everything, of course, Youri.

    Americans aren’t swimming in cash.

  8. Jeremy Paxman is the attack dog of the British state media so obviously he was gonna have a go at President Grimmson but the Icelander rebutted his questions very well. You could hear Jeremy humming & hawing like a frustrated schoolboy in the background as Grimmson explained to him what a democracy should look like. In the end, Paxman really had nowhere to go and the interview was politely wrapped up. At least in Britain you don’t tend to get snarling little shits like Bill O’Reilly & Hannity telling their interviewees to ‘shut up’ etc.

  9. @gb & y’all

The Icelanders ancesteral tales show that small can be fierce and dangerous:

    Egil Skallagrimson –

At the age of seven, Egill was cheated in a game with local boys. Enraged, he went home and procured an axe, and returning to the boys, split the skull of the one who cheated him, to the teeth.

But he also wrote his first poem at the age of three.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egill_Skallagr%C3%ADmsson

If anyone can defeat the cheaters, it might be Iceland.

  10. Max correctly points out that the FCIC will almost certainly be a coverup.

Related to that, Bill Blacks wrote a small piece on the flaws in the FCIC and how they could be corrected(but who would want that? certainly not our politicians):

    @Youri

says here the unemployment rate is near 4% in your economy, that is great, …. buy, buy, buy …..

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_unemployment_rate

  18. @Justget Itright

Well I think from Europe the Netherlands isn’t worse off at all except for the huge debt maybe. We where lucky that just before this crises started we had the lowest unemployment rate EVER!?. Papers were already writing that they were afraid that wages would go up too much., than the crises started.

But now we also feel the consequences and piled up a huge debt. But since the Dutch are not aware of anything http://tinyurl.com/yab7vus this could be seen as an advantage now when they don’t stop buying which is good for the economy. Our great ex soccer player and philosopher in it’s own right Johan Cruyff once said “Every disadvantage has it’s advantage” and that is true.

So if the ignorant MTFs keep buying ….

Here is the New York/Philly metro area there are many Greek restaurant owners, they all seem to be proud people. Since they have a long history, the character of the people seems to roll with the punches.

Do not know much about the Netherlands, except what I have read. Things do not seem good there either, our world has become slaves to debt. I feel real bad for the young folks.

  22. @ Stacy

It would’ve been funny when Max suggested he convert to Islam if all of a sudden you shot him a dirty look, or if you chucked some object at him, and then in his split screen you’d see him getting hailed with tomatoes or something.

Oh dare to dream that the Max Keiser and co. can turn into a sitcom.

  23. Strange affairs with Dr Copper?

“As China and India each is looking to compete and develop their economies together, India could step up their copper buying efforts. Then, currency standard or not, copper could become the ultimate red gold as a strategic asset as well as an inflation hedge.”

From: Dian Chu: “Did You Know? Is Copper The New Precious Metal” http://ow.ly/WwiG

  24. @Justget Itright

Well Greek people are not fed up with a crazy confidence in their governments like here in the Netherlands or in the U.S. for that matter. They know their corrupt. Greece has many Islands and village communities and only the Islands who have somebody “Up the Hill” Athens get financial aid.

Think that discussing politics among each other is a a second nature to the Greek and (no wonder that Greece was the first to practice democracy) so they are well informed. Been there many times on different places so I know somtin about Greece. They know the truth about 911for instance in contrast with the Dutch people who are still ignorant MTFs.

  25. Justget Itright

Have read the Greek people could care less about the EU, not sure what to make of that

  26. @Justget Itright

Indeed Greece ain’t California cause many people own their houses for many years often from family to family. Greek people already live in poverty so are more used to the situation relying on family ties and working together.

  27. @Justget Itright

The NWO wants to keep the EU together at any cost cause they immediately told Iceland that their EU candidate membership is not in danger whatever the outcome of the negotiations, that tells me.

But at the same time EU members are told that they are on there own, like Greece, or played out against each other so…..time will tell.

  34. This whole Greece debacle is just distraction from their own (EU) misconduct. A lot of EU countries are playing the system. Italy even more so and shouldn’t be in the EU in the first place according to there own EU rules.

  35. Justget Itright

    California is the USA’s Greece

    California downgraded again.
S&P downgraded California to A-minus with a negative outlook, as the state is facing another multibillion-dollar budget gap and federal help seems increasingly unlikely. However, even though it now costs more to insure California municipal debt against default than to insure bonds issued by Kazakhstan, there’s a compelling case to be made that California is doing better than the headline numbers suggest.

  65. The tungsten-filled gold bar story now in Pakistan:

    http://www.daily.pk/fake-gold-bars-in-bank-of-england-and-fort-knox-14477/

Whether it’s true or not isn’t as important as how many people who hold dollars believe that it might be true. It’s very difficult to predict what the trigger will be for the eventual run on BennyBux. Is this it? Probably not. But every story that comes out like this, that creates more FUD, is important to know about in the countdown towards the eventual fulfillment of USD=ZIP. Even an earthquake in Haiti, which is seemingly unrelated, contributes to the general malaise. My 2¢.

  66. Here’s one for ya,. whenever you hear some “person” saying the “public”,..the legal definition is as follows:
The vast multitude, which includes the ignorant, the unthinking and the credulous, in who making a purchase, don’t stay to analyze, but are governed by the general appearance and general impression.
BTW,.”include” means, everything that precedes “only”.

    So,.now you know!,…: /

  67. @ Bondi boy: Uh oh,

Re: Ritter. I just checked it’s three times and it appears true. Cheeesh.

  68. Bondi,

I don’t know about a second time. I’m going to wait and see where this is coming from.

I remember early on in the push for war a whispering campaign started up on MSM about Ritter’s sex life. Very subtle, very small but there. Now, it’s supposedly a big deal. If they want to frame you and smear you they can.

Let’s wait and try to find out more info. It may be that the spy network that was set up during the Bush administration directed toward the House and Senate for black mail used by Rove (Stellar Wind) and that Rahm is now using has come up with some information.

    But, let’s wait and see.

If we stand against them and refuse, we stand as free men. To me the choice is lose/win or lose/lose.

The bankers see it as win/win. But people are not dolphins, nor sheep, nor cattle, nor tuna in nets. We perhaps do not understand our own individual power to resist and to succeed.

    From Kitco today :

WASHINGTON, Jan 14 (Reuters). – The chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said on Thursday that the agency’s planned meeting in early March to discuss possible position limits on metal futures and options contracts will focus on gold and silver contracts. (Reporting by Tom Doggett)

I noticed during the meeting that they mentioned imposing position limits only on Energy and Commodities … and mentioned Metals at the end in the Q&A.

“I suppose you’re not able to implement position limits in the metals markets at the moment ”

The problem with the ‘nice lady’s’ idea about not paying the IMF is that her government is tied to the IMF through the finance secretary who sits on the IMF governing board. She would have to overthrow the government to free her country from the international bankster’s pernicious grasp. And the central bank is a puppet of the BIS hub, Financial Stability Board regulatory rulings.

In fact, the ‘bill’ that the English are trying to extract most likely will be shared with the EU through the ECB as one of the functionaries of the IMF: vultures do share carrion.

Proven terrorist if you do not obey or criticize the crooks in Washington and Wall Street.

You do know, Marc, that if one substituted the name IMF for Treasury the ‘crook’ business would continue to operate without a snag. We need to withdraw our government from the IMF and the BIS influence and the UN.

Unless you prefer being a protype-Peru to capitalist-US.

But one can’t withdraw the government from its succour, can one?

The crooks want you poor, sick and dead. That’s the truth. I think they have decided to export the same methods they use with the Palestinians and apply it to everyone. Welcome to Gaza.

  125. @Mother Earth
Indeed. Wave of terrorism manufactured by the people working in Washington and selling naked body scanners. 129. I dont watch much TV so I cant confirm Glenn Beck read this on the air . Maybe some one here watches Glenn Beck and can confirm.
You got to love it !

    Vega Man

The following letter read on Glenn Beck’s show, is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you will want to forward it to all of your friends…

GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona . She writes an open letter to our nation’s leadership:

“I am a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. Instead, we are burdened with Congressional Dukes and Duchesses who think they know better than the citizens they are supposed to represent.

There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you’re willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now..
You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would feel so horribly disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut-job am I? Well, these briefly are the views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I’m not a racist. This is not to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the STIMULUS bill. I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you No, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars. I want the circumvention of our constitutional checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution, and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There are many conflicting opinions and it is too soon for this radical legislation. Quit throwing our nation into politically-correct quicksand.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision that will burden me, my children, and grandchildren. Don’t you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night without even reading it. Slow down! Fix only what is broken — we have the best health care system in the world — and test any new program in one or two states first.

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. More is not better! Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real [Constitutional] obligations. Why don’t you start there.

Seven, ACORN.. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes — how did they pull that one off? Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census with our taxpayer money. I don’t trust them with any of our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs — and that is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person! Why do you want me to hate my employers? And what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Every company must sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we’ll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. (Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid?) We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let’s have it. Let’s say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please stop trying to manipulate and appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.
Take a breath. Listen to the people. Slow down and get some input from nonpoliticians and experts on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed-reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I’m busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not.
It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot.. There is needless urgency and recklessness in all of your recent spending of our tax dollars.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on bringing our concerns to Washington . Our president often knows all the right buzzwords like unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don’t want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we’re morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented.. You think we’re so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone… and we are now looking at you.
You have awakened us, the patriotic freedom spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office.
We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn’t ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us who will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don’t care. Political parties are meaningless to us Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution, and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them.. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you.

If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.”

  132. Suicide Bankers

The insurgency in formerly free USA has been characterized by banksters threatening suicide unless the government hands over hundreds of billions of pixels. A stiff response from the Commander in Chief led to the immediate disbursement of said pixels, and an agreement to allow fake “securities” to be valued at the rate determined by the banksters software. In a recent development, machines have been installed to strip the populace naked, preparing them to swallow the banksters toxic ejaculations.

I share your frustration with people not accepting reality and working from that basis. There are endless examples. Many people who will say for example, that 9/11 was an inside job, seeing no insider jobbers held to account in the years since, then think there is a genuine democracy in the US. How does that work exactly? There is a group of people who can blow up several buildings with thousands of people inside, convince the dumber half of the public of a bad movie plot, terrify the other half into submission, escape investigation let alone arrest, but they’re not going to bother to control the next presidency which incidentally could threaten to jail them?! People just don’t deal in their own best knowledge. They refute the lie, and then go back to the global paradigms sold to them. They surrender their minds even after saying “that is a lie”.

    Whatcha doin’ Stella?

    I’m a’goin’ moth-collecting. See, here’s my net.

Why ya gonna do that? Moths is ugly.

Look Cleetus. We are all fools ‘cording to the spec-u-lations of the ‘wise men’ in Germany. I done the readin’. So, I’m off on a ‘fool’s errand’.

Shoot, Steller. I ain’t a fool. I’m gonna to town to take my money outta that Bank-er-UH-merica and put it in our ‘lovable local communitee-bank. Ain’t got but twenty-three dollahs and fifty-two cents, but I wanna be in the movement yur Pa done told me ’bout. We’z gonna make them bad banksters feel right sorry fur stealin’ from us’n poor folks.

Yeh. Like I said, Cleetus, I’m off’n a fool’s errand as well. Don’t make no difference no hoots how ya spend yur time these days. All-of-it seems to line the road we’z set to walk in this’n here cuntry once them Eur-O-pee-uns cutz us off from the spigot.

Steller, why dontcha come with me ‘stead? Yur money and my money make’z more money for a ‘grass-roots’ cause, like yur Ma said. She said, why, fancy that. Just look-at-all-them-patriots lovin’ each other, just like after 911!

The only grass-roots round here are in Bounteeful’s mouth. If ya’ll think that movin’ money round is a way of lovin’, then I’ll just skeedaddle outta here right now. Seems lookin’ fur moths in the daytime makes more sense than yur ideedees! Come on, Buster. Ya gonna be scratchin’ yur ears shoot-to-Sunday if ya stay round here listenin’ to that jawbone waggle.

    @jon

…. Believe me. I’ve given up on most folks. Even my family. My brother is a big banker in hong kong. He says “don’t worry about it the world is corrupt, everyones bought off”. My folks just don’t want to think about it. But love watching oprah and are social security. My used car salesman brother in law says “its better I have a good life, screw anyone else”. My sister and brother who are teachers say, just don’t rock the boat and we’ll get our governement paychecks”.

i’m the only self employed person in the family. And I’m the only one concerned about being robbed by the banksters….

Wow jon ..you summed it up nicely there !

You notice the robbery most when you’re self employed IMO.
… because you have to “earn” your living … as opposed to just biding time waiting for a paycheque !

Most self employed people I know work 7/24 and consider themselves hard up.
i.e. they have to do all the back-office work themselves , e.g. all the Govt. beaurocrap and bookkeeping etc. which they mostly do in the evening or at the weekend.

The German (Socialist ) Govt. introduced a new “travelling expenses” system a few years ago that make most SE people want to give up their car.
You have to now keep a “travel log” that makes a note of every street / motorway you drive through incl. tie and date and reason . If there is “just one hole” in the log, they don’t allow your expenses for the whole year !
Of course, the Germans were NOT asked .. but most people think it’s insane and have moved to deregistering their car as “company property” to using it privately, whereby if the use it more than 50% for business, it is then deemed to again become a company car. The small advantage gained by “privatizing” it is that you only have to fill in the business routes.
    Sheesh !

  188. I was watching some of that show trial and blankfiend claimed that during the peak of their leverage it was about 25 to one and now it’s about half that. That they only took out positions against the products they were selling (mortgage derivatives) to manage risk by balancing their over-all position so it wouldn’t be too heavily long. Yeahhh. Mmm hmm. It was a real cookie dunker of a show.

Tough tough questions like, do you use complicated language to keep conversations about it within your inner circles? And, how much money have you made over the past 4 years through program trading?

They basically implied, we have to commit crimes to stay competitive and if you try to stop us our nation will fail. The ole’ wife-beater’s “you need me” gambit.

  189. Oh yeah and what a cunt Paxman turns out to be, I use to like him specially on university challenge, shame.

  195. @ Max and all – I’ve been paying attention to the beginning of the corporate/elite smackdown of the Move Your Money movement in the US. Sure, it’s not the same as the BBC smacking down Iceland, but it’s the closest we’ve got.

Check out the MSNBC interview w/ Nico Pitney and Martha White here. Then see the trash article Ms. White wrote for “The Big Money” here, in which she basically says that the little people don’t matter at all to the profitability of banks, and as such, they should accept their powerlessness and do nothing (her commentors obviously don’t agree) to fight back.

    What Iceland has that America doesn’t have is the ability to arrive at a national consensus; but Iceland is a homogenous society; America has been divided by race-baiting, alleged special interest group conflicts and political correctness;

    We also have the misfortune of having been told, since 1980, that what’s good for Wall Street (specifically, the DOW) is good for the country;

    When America suffers a huge shock, Americans come together; remember the love all of us felt for each other in the wake of 9/11? That can happen again, but it will take a large “shock” to bring it about;

    When the financial system crashes again, I think we’ll be able to establish a real consensus of, by, and for the people;

    It won’t be easy and it’s not assured, but it will be possible;

    from the ‘hood

  197. @TheKeiserReport – Why do you use split screen when you sit so close to each other? looks a bit weird when you’re having a conversation and both looking towards each other, all I as a viewer see is two people staring at a white strip between two screens even though I know you look at each other.

    back to the show

  198. dedo is correct about this. The media is doing all it can to have the average moron t.v. watcher not think about the banksters stealing all their money and controling them from crib to grave.

What little the media lets out about the banksters is almost a total whitewash of what happened and what is happening now with the financial system. Surprise. Nice to own the media, judiciary and government. Sweet. YOu now own the stupid people and control them.

    Brilliant report on Iceland! Bravo Max and Bravissima! Stacy for bringin’ it to us;

    I am in total solidarity with the Icelandic people; they should not have to pay one thin dime;

    In American courts, judges have been ruling in favor of homeowners when banks cannot provide any mortgage documentation (due to securitization and tranching)| as proof that they hold the mortgage on that property;

How can a homeowner find out if his mortgage has been securitized? If I knew that no bank could produce the requisite mortgage documentation, I’d go to court and own my home for free!

Wouldn’t this be a great way to screw the TBTFs? A way to fight back?

    bringin’ it from the ‘hood

  204. WIll Latvia stop being a larve ? It’s a typo. But’s it’s funny one. What the bristish and holland gangsters are offering to Iceland is about the same payment conditions than Latvia. Welcome to Eastern Europe and the Ex USSR. They want to transform the whole global economy in a “Larvia”. Indeed. 40% reduction of standard of living for 10 to 15 yeats. Like they asked of Russia.

  205. frances snoot

And why do they control all these offices and commissions.

Because money and power is concentrated in the same hands that is has been for centuries. The ‘invisible hand’ is only scratching his ‘invisible balls’.

  206. Icelandisation canditates: Ireland ? Greece ? Larvia ? Hungary ? Any other country names ? As for the anglo-saxon countries, it’s desparate. All your politicians are puppets controlled on ALL sides by the banksters. Do you really believe that the British would rise up against the City ? It would take the return of Jesus to irrupt in the temple to kick out the crooks out of the country. Nice dream indeed. The corruption is too advanced in the USA and the UK. Insurmountable task. I am a pessimist when it comes to the USA and the UK; these two oligarch banking mobster controlled empires.

Nice to have the whitehouse staff staffed by goldman sachs

The Financial Stability Board is manned by a Goldman man, Mario Draghi, who is orchestrating a global commitment to follow the draconian rules emanating out of his committee. I’d worry more about that, Jon.

  212. To Birgitta Jonsdottir’s question about who is behind all of this: many people know exactly who/what is behind the international financial crime syndicate – (and many many more people are daily waking up to this knowledge).
The problem is publicly calling them out and isolating them and their crimes (against humanity) -as these criminals are in stealth mode, hidden behind layers of “moral issues (many of which are phony)” and many useful idiots who do their bidding, thus rendering them almost invisible. They are also “protected” by “thought” and “speech” control “laws” and massive, globally coordinated media obfuscation and info-re-direction operations.

  213. Someone should throw red paint at the Icesave bankers’ homes in the UK.

  214. Again, why are the banksters allowed to steal everyones money.

Oh thats right. THey’ve bought off the the usa government and own the usa. I forgot.

Nice to have the whitehouse staff staffed by goldman sachs.

  215. Actually, as Iceland has no army, they are a bit like Palestinians, and their only practical means of waging war would be terrorism. This of course assumes one ignores the real perpetrators of the crime, the banks. This in turn however is imho a US strategy to destabilize Europe and ramp up the last war..

  216. I do love watching plans unfold,..create the problem,.gauge public reaction (while goading),..and then, on come the talking heads espousing the very solutions that are forecast(planned),..”change”,…”sustainability”

Good luck to Iceland against the british banksters. It would be nice to know. Who is next in the list of problems countrie to do an “Iceland” to the banksters ? Freeze the banksters or is it throw them in iIcelandic volcano ?

  218. frances snoot

How did the Obama team pull this off? In part, it was with the huge fiscal stimulus enacted in February. While increased government spending feeds through into the economy only slowly, the big push to spend demonstrated that the government was willing to borrow heavily to offset any likely fall in spending by households and firms. This in turn reassured everyone that the economy could not decline too far or too fast.

What bollocks. It was TALF that saved the credit spreads on the cmbs and now the withdrawal of TALF which will indict the next crisis in credit markets.

Moral hazard? Get rid of the IMF.

  219. wow, that name is hard to say.

  220. frances snoot

Moral Hazard? Simon Johnson insisted the system was running well last May:

‘President Obama and his economic advisers seem to have averted a global financial meltdown. Credit markets are finally stabilizing, with the perceived risk of debt default coming down across the board. Only a few countries, like Kazakhstan, Ukraine and various parts of Eastern Europe, remain under serious pressure.

This is a major achievement. We cannot emphasize enough how bad the world’s financial markets have looked at various points since September — including during the first month or so of President Obama’s administration. Market attitudes have changed profoundly since the beginning of March. It’s no longer “sell the collapse” but much more “buy the dips”; this is the essential ingredient needed to stave off bank runs and to keep markets from spiraling downward in self-fulfilling collapse.

There were other pieces to the strategy also, including: strong support for credit, courtesy of Ben Bernanke’s Federal Reserve; some very effective diplomacy around the Group of 20 summit meeting in early April, with the Americans dragging the Europeans kicking and screaming to a more constructive anti-crisis attitude; and, more controversially, clear indication through the recent stress tests that the government will not press the banks too hard to have standard levels of capital anytime soon.’

    http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/05/14/the-first-fiscal-stimulus-worked-should-we-do-another/

Whoops. Time to flop like a fish: Now it’s moral hazard when before it was:

“Confidence is returning to most credit markets, consumer spending is likely to rebound for some items (autos and housing repair are leading contenders), and firms in the US are starting to sound more optimistic. On NYT.com’s Economix yesterday, Peter Boone and I suggested that we are out of the panic phase of the crisis – in large part because the US fiscal stimulus has reassured people worldwide, but also because President Obama has had a broader calming effect.”

    http://baselinescenario.com/2009/05/15/is-the-crisis-over-yet-the-cbo-weighs-in/

What?! Another serious panic phase?! Could it have anything to do with the end of TALF or the basel mandates affecting US securitization markets?

Or is Simon just another serious talking head for the Bank of International Settlements and the IMF?

  221. Excellent program! And the good people of Iceland provide an excellent example of how to combat the international banksters and their agents who wreak global economic havoc.
The banksters’ pattern is clearly discernible in the Iceland case: their ultimate goal – dictatorial control over all -beginning with economies – and finally to include total control over all souls.
All people must rise up (as in Iceland) – demand end to wars against the mid-eastern peoples (and all others in future) and instead – declare war against the true global-scale enemies – international banksters (they’ve gotten away with their crimes for far too long).
BTW: “Bonus payments” to the top banksters – would provide a significant )if not majority needed) amount of financial aid to Haiti right now.

But the same would be true if something happened that was difficult for Jeb or for Doro or Neil or Marvin. And you can criticize me, but don’t criticize my children and don’t criticize my daughters-in-law and don’t criticize my husband, or you’re dead.

In America we have already spread our legs, our but cheeks and swallowed. We just don’t seem to have realized it. It’s as if we had been slipped a rape drug into our water supply.

But we haven’t had to pay the pimp yet. But don’t worry, it’s coming. The banker’s hoe house of 50 star girls will be lined up. And one by one they’ll be forced to perform acts and swallow at the end. Then it will be the star of the show’s turn. The liberty girl will be forced to strip naked and be humiliated just like Iceland by the big boss gangsters in Basel. She’ll be forced to dance for a few IMF loans.

We should all support Iceland because we are next in line. Life sucks!

  225. @Dedo
Yes, I had a movement at about 11 this morning

  226. There are close parallels between what Iceland is doing and what Somalia did.

Somalia had a tyrrant, Siad Barre, who took on debt for his gov and loaded this debt onto the people of Somalia. The people overthrew Siad Barre and refused to pay the debt. The banksters sent in debt collectors who were repulsed. Which takes us to where Somalia is today.

The similarities between Somalia and Iceland are obvious, one of the differences is that the Icelandic President (unlike Siad Barre) has recognised that Icelandic sovereignty lies with the people. This, I might add, is unlike the UK, a point made by the Icelandic President on the Newsnight programme (ie the Paxman interview) referenced by Max.

(Note that UK soveriegnty lies with Parliament, NOT, the people. This can be found in the work of Dicey who is still considered to be the authority on the British constitution).

  227. Probably the best way to help the Icelanders would be having
big demonstrations in UK and NL against the bullying. The
spineless british and dutch polititians would also be informed by their
peoples that they aren’t willing to cover the banksters losses either.

  230. Anyone have further details on the upcoming Benelux union change?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benelux

    Future

The treaty establishing the Benelux Economic Union will expire in 2010. It will be replaced by a new legal framework, which has been signed on June 17, 2008. The main objectives of the treaty are the continuation and enlargement of the cooperation between the three member states within a larger European context. The name of the “Benelux economic union” will change to Benelux union to reflect this broader scope.
