  1. Well….it seems that the CO2 b*llsh*t didn’t scare us enough. So now they have to call in the big one. METHANE. It’s going to kill us if we don’t act. And the only way to protect ourselves is to pay a lot of taxes I guess?

We’ve found ourselves a new religion with new priests and a new pope. O wait. I could be send into prison these days for not believing all this crap.

Geroge Orwell. Man, you were right.

  3. @Mep

Free markets and sound money are part of liberty and democracy. Some call it liberal democracy, and the US is not a liberal democracy. The loss of freedoms and free markets in the US has put it on a course towards illiberal democracy for the foreseeable future.

    @Stacy

Don’t forget about the agricultural subsides in the EU that comprise around 40 % of the EU budget, and help to impoverish third world countries whose main source of production is agriculture. However, it is sad that Ron Paul failed to mention that the first step in improving third world economies would be for the US and EU to end agricultural subsides, so there economies would be able to grow and compete with other agricultural based economies in other countries. Then the US and EU would be unable to dump agricultural goods on third world economies.

  4. I’m constantly surprised I see this global warming bs here.

From the article: “due to increasing temperatures.”

Wrong. Temperatures have been on a downward trend for the last 11 years.

    “Shrinking ice caps.”

Wrong. Ice caps have expanded the last two years.

This methane stuff …part of the thing is that there are apparently underwater volcanoes that are melting PART of the Artic. If you look at the rest of it, the sum total, it’s expanding.

I don’t know about this methane stuff, but the rest is propaganda.

“Frances — I was raised by nihilists in a majority atheist society… I can’t even tell if you’re being sarcastic or not. Do you mean door-to-door Christians? Is there an infestation in your neighbourhood? Do you have a good spray-bottle?”

No, it means that I avoid those who spray sanctimony on themselves like it is a cologne that makes them unavoidably attractive and intelligent in their committment to servicing their residual metaphysical-objectivism.

  6. O and max; the economics, imagine a billion consumers going from 1$ a day (probably soon due to inflation/devaluation 2$) to a decent wage/standard of living where they buy more (luxury) goods/take out loans/start new businesses etc. ( only in a responsible way). China is just a peanut compared to that, because now the bankster plundered everything the poverty increases, only more way to go up. If morals etc. don’t count. Can’t disagree that the current bankster/military industrial complex economic model isn’t very sustainable or prosperous.

  8. As long as a trillion is spent on military each year (only hardware) and the oil industry is in the hands of the same people who own the money supply fed/eu/bis/imf/world bank etc. and those people exploit third world countries. The key is education the western birth-rate is 1.3 for 2 adults so it’s decreasing. Wallstreet shouldn’t be bailed out for 20 trillion and counting. People shouldn’t be indoctrinated at school, they should be learned to solve problems/question. The aim of society should be progress/innovation, all environment can be restored (bison was almost extinct, as example; beside it’s all about creating the right conditions for life to prosper). We can build cities in the sea, explore space etc. Yet a new intellectual revolution is required; people should learn that consumption of certain goods has dire consequences and should look for alternative (look up testla, you probably know about the electric car in the eighties). Anyways the bankers have to go, iceland can be the first to kick their asses (and no the dutch taxpayer isn’t benefiting we bailed out banks already for 80+ billion 200 billion guarantees nationalised 2 banks etc. even government money was speculated on icesave, thats how corrupt things are here). Then we need proper research/re evaluation of how much resources we have and whats possible in current age (copyrights have to change, CRU data was false, no data saudi arabia etc). Can’t just say there’s too many people or we can’t save earth from asteroids/weakened magnetic field assumed global warming etc. while there’s no effort to reach anywhere near full potential of people.

Maybe there is franchising opportunity in rioting? ;-) I want my Max Keiser riot gear! Rent-an-antiglobailist..Al these rioters just want to get laid..Copenhagen riots whare a farce.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUBadgLeEQs

  10. @all you Greenies.

Good news for you. The melting of the permafrost is not necessarily a catastrophe. Here is why. Guess what happens when to the unfrozen land in question after that ? Trees grow on it absorbing your “poison” carbon. Again. Climatology and ecology are new sciences. I can’t stand all the gloom and doom emanating from these “end of the world” scientists. And no Paying a big fat commission to Al Gore or IMF banksters is not a solution to anything.

  11. @ Max – Are you going to develop it so that all of our avatars can pose as anarchists there?

  12. Crumpet Muncher

@Mom – what you mean is you want to be able to harvest from it all the tasty creatures for as long as possible?

  13. @ Danny – It’s all making me nervous for the people there. I understand that circumstances aren’t exactly great for getting relief supplies into the city, but it’s almost like the militarized elements are just waiting for an excuse to point their guns at hungry people. Reuters put out an article about brief fights taking place over water–with the suggestion that chaos could ensue if supplies were sent in and there was a sense of scarcity among the people due to limitations of what could be taken in in one trip. They also reported that Haitians were getting restless and angry b/c they could see all of the planes landing with supplies . . . supplies that weren’t making their way to the people; some groups of Haitians allegedly were barricading streets with corpses in protest of non-delivery of supplies.

Sounds like a lot of the people sent there are afraid to actually encounter hungry people with supplies. French soldiers were apparently hanging out at the airport waiting for “marching orders.” Lord knows what the US, Chinese, and UN troops are doing.

  14. @Mother Earth
Ok, I’ll go back and have another watch. It had struck me as a strange thing to say considering his general stance so maybe I misheared him

I believe there is an unstable balance between our agressive nature, our compassion and intellectual capabilities. We basically found oil to early in our evolution..

  18. @Danny

Wow.. that is quite a misperception..Ron Paul is not my favourite, but all he is saying is that if airlines where made responsible for attacks on them, there would be a more efficient response to the problem..More efficient that the government response of invading our privacy wholesale..

  19. CAPS LOCKED IN SOLIDARITY WITH PRESUMED PROVOCATEURS!

…It’s gonna get to the point where anyone who dissents even remotely with other dissenters is tarred with this brush. More suspicious to me when people in positions of power within “independent media” place some things off-limits and refuse to talk about them… hmm?

  21. @Mep

I thought it interesting that ‘Europe’ was ending 2 battleships (??) (guess thats the Irish neutrality shown for what it is again) and the US sending an aircraft carrier and marines (??) to Haiti.

This is tokenism. Me thinks those troops will be staying around after this crisis has died down in the press. Hey, I can see Cuba and Venezuela from here!

  22. @AM — well, if you were never gonna buy the album anyway, then it’d hardly be stealing to download it… right? :-)

There is a possibility that you could also be a spook
We both need to inform our controllers of these events and await instructions

  24. @Stacy
If you could, could you send my email address to @Dork Of Cork email please (presume you put your own email in Dork)

    Thanks Stacy

    @Dork
You sound old and wise; I could be intimidated and found out as a charlatan! I’m only a goosling and a brigand. I’m bringing’ a hurley with me just in case you turn out to be a spook! :D

  25. @ Mother Earth – The thing is, Ron Paul–critic of current US foreign policy–is hypocritically ignoring our past deeds and what they have meant to Haitians specifically. I think most of us understand the pitfalls of fiat currencies; however, the problem in Haiti isn’t just that they have a bad currency; they have crushing poverty . . . thanks to our policies. And despite their uprising against their original masters, the vast majority of them still live under slavery. I’m curious as to what free-market solutions Ron Paul would specifically recommend for them. We all know that “free-trade zones” aren’t the answer.

I’ll be paying close attention to what the Obama admin. does. So far, they appear to be taking their cues from the Heritage Foundation:

    http://blog.heritage.org/2010/01/13/things-to-remember-while-helping-haiti/

. . . not a day after this brief blueprint was written, Obama brought George W. into the mix.

I think Naomi Klein is 100% correct in pushing for the international community to insist that Haiti receives only grants for aid and reconstruction . . . no loans. The last thing they need is to be more indebted.

  26. @Tofu Charlie Know that one of bermas his show/documentaries (atleast i thought he was in there). Sounds good, not a particular rap fan usual listen mostly old rock/blues and for some tougher music a lot of different metal but this has power and a good message. Thx, hopefully he doesn’t mind torrent programs because i’m gonna download some (if i had the money i would pay for it).

  27. @CLIMATE BABY

  29. @ Danny – I hear you. I can’t make sense of it. Perhaps Alex Jones is right on this one, and the best thing people can do in protest is to show up at airports stark naked. We all know that the naked body, up close and personal, is offensive and humiliating to those who seek to humiliate all of us.

  33. @Mep

Saw that interview too on RT. I was thrown by his comments on the airlines, it should be the job of the airline to track you through security and not the government; whats that all about or change?! This is man who advovates personnal liberty and he was taking about carrying a chipped identity card or something. (??)

I like Ron Paul too but his talk of free markets just makes me think of Russia under Yeltsin.

  34. @CLIMATE BABY
OMG it’s worse than I thought… did you just write that… please say it ain so!!!

  35. @Stacy

Ron Paul is for free markets and sound money in the US as well..

    @Henk

I don’t rely on publications..what was the link you posted?

  37. @Mother – thanks for posting that; there are MANY provocateurs online . . .

  38. @ Stacy – exactly! And, is it just me, or was he suggesting some sort of biochips for airline travel?!

  39. @mother earth we did the calculations ourselves therefore I’m work with people working in that field.
So i don’t rely on publications. But I use my brain.

  40. @Mep – I saw that! And I meant to post it because it is pretty sickening that Paul suggests it is the Haitians who need to adopt free markets and not the US policy in the country for past thirty years and dumping agricultural products that has impoverished the country.

  41. I’m with Tofu on the allegiance scale,.the majority of the “public” are gone,..G.O.N.E,.gone,.out to lunch,.lights on, nobody in,.sharp as a bowling ball,.two cards short of a full deck,.one brick short of a load,.a sandwich short of a picnic,.not the sharpist tool in the shed!! : /

  42. @SG

You sound like the spastic baby with the razor in the joke ‘what is red, sits in the corner and gets smaller and smaller?’..

  43. Ron Paul tells RT that what Haiti needs is free markets and sound money. Why did he leave out liberty and democracy?

I like Ron Paul, but he puts too much faith in “free markets”.

Good Lord, Tofu. No! I’m worried about “God’s Good People” carrying me off to Zion!

Maybe you see that the author in the article you mention does not in anyway explain how it got the numbers.

  54. @Frances — you’re worried about the banksters? Really? They’re quite civilized on a unit-level, compared to some of the people I sit near on the trams in Melbourne, talking about whose kid they’re going to kidnap for drug money, who they’re going to “bash”… people here getting stabbed for no reason whatsoever… a guy walking near the Ikea in Richmond tackled by three crusty-emos and his ear bitten off.

I’m not worried about the banksters any more. It’s the human animal unleashed that scares me…

  55. frances snoot

wait, maybe Bonn will want to discuss mortage-backed bonds with you

Do we all exist outside our respectable future tags? I don’t think so.

The goal is the ‘uni-citizen’ which is neither white nor black, rich nor poor, educated nor illiterate, and whose desire it is to further the latest ideedee coming from those rich bastards that own Ron Paul.

  57. frances snoot

    @Tofu:
    You’ve got to be kidding.

Oh. I forgot. It’s a fight club. We are all’s gonna fight the bankers until we tear down our entire social structure and then say: what’s next. And the next is already here:

    So inevitably trite.

  58. The article makes methane sound kind of “good” b/c while it notes that methane traps more heat than carbon dioxide, it says that methane only remains in the atmosphere for a decade; the author should’ve mentioned that after roughly a decade, methane then breaks down into CO2 and remains in the atmosphere.

  59. …wait, maybe Bonn will want to discuss mortage-backed bonds with you :-)

  60. @Frances — lol! Everyone knows it!… Try Zerohedge… :-)

    http://www.thislife.org/Radio_Episode.aspx?episode=311

This American Life radio show from ’06. Part III starts about 13min in… about a black market ammo dealer in South Chicago who made so much cash that he didn’t know what to do with it. He didn’t trust banks. And he was embarrassed to have so much cash, so he stuffed it in couches and mattresses and sold them cheap to poor folk.

See, this is much more radical or artistic than burning money.

  73. Lead did best the last decade.. and with any bad luck a lot of lead will be circulating..through the air..

I believe that it was a annular solar eclipse which is not nearly as spectacular as a full solar eclipse so you did not miss much even if you were in the path of maximum obstruction of the solar disk – evenso it is a very interesting to see a ring of light instead of a disk of light in our sky.

  77. frances snoot

It is not the physical circulating ‘money’ that we should burn, its the fanthom balance sheet money that is not really there that should dissipate asap..

Yes, that’s what makes covered bonds so clever, ME. The fraud is covered ON the books. Well, it’s a sucker’s world as ronron says.

  78. @RonRon — maybe I should just send you some history books.

7.62mm ammo would be another “metal” investment I would recommend — for those in the US and EU, at least — over gold at this point.

  79. gold is money.

  81. @Tofu
Gold is for the transition phase, for the collapse. Yes, we probably need a different kind of metal after that, if we individually make it.

  82. @Tofu. you’ll have to show me this time travel machine of yours.

  83. @Tofu

Yes I saw The Road (I get the use of the word documentary). My friend was barking on about how boring the film was but i was just sitting there winching, knowing what is coming. Sometimes its very hard to get out of the ‘rabbit in the headlights’ mentality and get up and help yourself. It can be hugely overwhelming.

I also watched Collapse for about the fifth time last night.

    @Mother Earth
There is NOTHING to ‘replace’ oil. Yes we will have to move to localisation and that will involve local energy, permaculture etc. But the life we knew it coming to an end. We are moving to a paradigm shift where the concept of constant economical growth meets peak global energy/resources.

  84. @Bonn. morning mate. wonder how he came to that conclusion. hahaha. fuck. :-)

  85. @RonRon — try throwing those 1oz. gold coins at the cannibals, rapists, looters and zombies… you’re buying the wrong sort of metal. You all are.

  86. @Dan II

I would move out now. Where is the utility? Society should be organized in a more robust less centralized way and everybody could be fine caring as much as they normally do about each other (not much actually), because only small groups would be affected at one time.

  87. @Tofu. what ever the fuck you like. :-)

  88. @RonRon — yeah, I’m going to “invest” in some very sharp clay-tempered metal to “protect my assets”. Catherine Fitts will be so proud…

  89. “EXPERTS SAY” This is a dead giveaway about the lack of objectivity. It’s called a generalisation. It’s intended as an expression to indicate that there is a “consensus”. No consensus here, since even the Nasa says EXACTLY the contrary ! The article should mention instead “Some” experts. I insist.

Words are important. It implies that ALL experts have concluded the same thing. It’s maybe the case with Einstein’s law of relativity but it AIN’T with climatology, a young science, with a lot of CONTESTABLE theories still unproven.

Journaliste prove their stupidity and their ignorance when they talk and write about science. You NEVER use “Experts say.” specially when there is no unanimity and are you are dealing with bad science and falsified scientific data.

Sorry. It’s the truth. No mention whatsoever in the article about the contradictory observations by NASA.

    http://www.examiner.com/x-1586-Baltimore-Weather-Examiner~y2009m1d21-Oceans-are-cooling-according-to-NASA

  90. were going. the planet is staying.

  91. don’t burn it. buy fucking metal.

  92. @Dork/Cork — hear, hear.

Anyone seen this new documentary, “The Road”…? Fascinating stuff.

  93. almost everyday al gore stinks it up around here.

  94. @Ron — actually, it’s 90% burps. The fart angle is clearly a manipulation of the AGW alarmists… :-)

  95. the Dork of Cork

    @Max
Max says that we must burn all fiat currency – fair enough one ,two maybe a million people destroy their paper notes – what happens then , well they print more money and give it to their favourites while the honest revolutionaries are impoverished.
This conundrum reminds me of the actions taken by members of the green movement who wished to reduce consumption and save the planet – this action could never achieve its objective because these peoples savings from not consuming would be simply used to feed the beast.
We are all benefiting from the information explosion of the Internet despite all its flaws, indeed it could be as important as the printing press for the reformation.
The most important difference between now and the reformation is that we are all atomized and are only capable of conveying information and expressing our opinion.
These blogs are for the most part without consequence and people tend to talk a good fight (myself included) but not get involved in grassroots political movements which do have consequences.
Also most of us have still something to lose (if you have gold for example) and will not confront this new papacy and they know it .
So Max while I respect your beliefs and real actions it just ain’t enough

    The apocryphal vs. the actual

Our collective consciousness has created memories of events we use at totems in expressing our reaction to current events

To quibble over details over past events (bankers jumping from windows) undermines the value of what we, as sentient beings, must consider as actionable truth

We are not ants amongst a queen toiling our lives away so that we may die as compatible, interchangeable components of a regime we neither voted for or support

We are revolutionaries at heart and the embers still burn

The enemy prints trillions of lies in the form of bogus fiat currency

    We must burn it all

  147. Hey Max, not that many bankers jumped out of their windows during the great depressions.

Well, not more than the average. Galbraith wrote a book about the great depression in the States, and looked at the statistics of the number of suicides in the 30s compared to previous records and he noted that there wasn’t a huge increase. certainly not a massive jump (pardon the pun) when the stories about the leaping bankers were most frequent. yes there were a few, but they did it in public (a crowd apparently had gathered) so the perception is that there were many more than there were actually.

If you wanna see an industry in crisis that really causes workers to commit suicides, check out what’s happening with Indian farmers, and of course Japanese young adults.

Perhaps we should tax them so much that they decide to move to Switzerland, then we can help them along the way with an ‘assisted’ suicide.

  148. @Max

Still you are talking about only 8% of the world population that is on the audiovisual pacifier, and energy requirements of that are insane ~unsustainable. When people grow hungry they’ll lose interest in internet.

The Arctic fart will make all CO2 reduction schemes meaningless and turn this planet tropical, if not suffocate it outright. There are many dead methane giants in the universe. We’d heat up to a couple of hundred degrees. Methane sticks around for hundreds of thousands of years, it is better to burn it into CO2, but of course we need the oxygen, there’s the rub..Still think we’re on the right track?

Good news is the ocean acidification is not so much caused by methane, so there may be time to at least reduce the effects. Of course the exploited masses will not become aware of that option before they let some doctor suck the feaces out of their skull..

The best quote is all is from Chrales Schults who has “Lucy Van Pelt” say in his comic strip “Peanuts”,

“I have never nade a mistake in my life, I thought I did once, but I was wrong.”

  150. The economy is a sub-set of the ecology

The ecology is the collateral that forms the foundation of the economy

As the ecology collapses; services like air, water, and food that have been free for thousands of years will become unaffordable for most of the world, including most of the US and Britain.

Not to reverse man-made causes and trends in climate change, deforestation, ocean acidification, fish stock depletion, etc. etc. etc. is financial and corporal suicide

The way to avoid the obvious action needed to preserve human life is to constantly keep the population in a perpetual state of suspended spectacle.

er… posted links about this on here before…. bankers windows.. urban myth!!!

‘The 1929 historical tale of guys jumping out of buildings in the opening hours of the Great Depression is part of the ongoing urban legend associated with dark financial days. But an actual look at the data shows something else, entirely.

A subtle background theme is that the people on the street in 1929 wanted the bankers to jump. Is there a similar feeling today?

Will Rogers observed, “When Wall Street took that tail spin, you had to stand in line to get a window to jump out of, and speculators were selling space for bodies in the East River.”

    But it just wasn’t true.

The scholarly economist John Kenneth Galbraith addressed the topic in his book The Great Crash, 1929, (published in 1955). Studying U.S. death statistics, Galbraith found that while the U.S. suicide rate increased steadily between 1925 and 1932, during October and November of 1929, the number of suicides was low.

But it is like anything else, if you look hard enough, you will find suicides that seem to be related to the Great Crash and the Great Depression.

On Friday, November 8, 1929, J. J. Riordan, president of the County Trust Company, took a gun from a teller’s cage at his bank, went to his home in downtown Manhattan, and used it to kill himself. The news was suppressed until after the bank closed at noon Saturday, to avoid causing a run on the bank.

A vice president of the Earl Radio Corporation jumped to his death from the window of a Manhattan hotel. His suicide note read, “We are broke. Last April I was worth $100,000. Today I am $24,000 in the red.” But that deadly event happened in early October, weeks before the Great Crash.

Jesse Livermore, perhaps the most famous of the Wall Street speculators, shot himself – but not until 1940.

Several well-publicized suicides did fulfill the urban mythical stereotype. Winston Churchill, visiting New York City, was awakened the day after Black Tuesday (October 29, 1929) by the noise of a crowd outside the Savoy-Plaza Hotel. “Under my very window a gentleman cast himself down fifteen storeys and was dashed to pieces, causing a wild commotion and the arrival of the fire brigade,” he wrote.

In 1929: The Year of the Great Crash (1989), historian William K. Klingaman noted that asphyxiation by gas was the most common method of suicide, although there was considerable variety. I found this true throughout the early 1900s. Klingaman wrote:

The wife of a Long Island broker shot herself in the heart; a utilities executive in Rochester, New York, shut himself in his bathroom and opened a wall jet of illuminating gas; a St. Louis broker swallowed poison; a Philadelphia financier shot himself in his athletic club; a divorcee in Allentown, Pennsylvania, closed the doors and windows of her home and turned on a gas oven. In Milwaukee, one gentleman who took his own life left a note that read, ‘My body should go to science, my soul to Andrew W. Mellon, and sympathy to my creditors.’
