  1. Thank you soooo much for showing Anne, the debt lady on a recent show..and I saw through Brasscheck. I hope to find her…as her name was not spelled on your show. I am out of debt, due to my bankruptcy two years ago…and now just working…refusing any credit anymore…and saving, austere lifestyle…garden, solar, watercatch, septic, etc., etc…food supply fills a room…and so on.
I am so happy to see your shows..which I have on YouTube..and now will look into your site. What does RU mean? ..never seen that…are you living in Russia..lol??
I am an Activist, Patriot..and ready and willing to take to the streets at this point, but Gandi style for now….Connie

  2. @lek – well you seem to have your own opinion; I don’t know what your agenda is in saying Kenya is bigger than Ethiopia’s military capability, but there are many, many other references than BBC upon any simple google search which say Ethiopia is ‘best equipped’ or ‘largest’; I can’t tell you which is accurate and I have very little interest in military capability but on just glancing a few sites, it would seem that there are really only a handful of countries with what you could call military capability . . .

And this USAToday article states that Ethiopia military receives more US military aid than any other country in the region: http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2007-01-07-ethiopia_x.htm

Anyway, for anyone who is interested or who can tell the difference between equipment, here is a side by side comparison of the Equipment of Ethiopian and Kenyan military capability:

    Ethiopia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_Air_Force#Aircraft_Inventory

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethiopian_National_Defense_Force#Ground_Equipment

    Kenya: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenyan_Air_Force#Fleet

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Kenya#Equipment

  3. @stacy

Ethiopia’s army is about the same size as Egypt and Morocco, 29th largest in the world. But what you dont mention is that they are poorly trained and equiped and more than half are involved in foreigh peace keeping missions. Also, much of there equipment dates to the 1970s, although they are modernizing. Kenya’s army is actually larger in terms of actual combat personel although total numbers are smaller.

This from Search. com. I would not consider BBC unbiased about a christian nation’s army that is resisting islamic aggression.

  4. Stacy is right about Ethiopia. They used to have an empire. Erythrea had a real bloody war wih Ethiopia when It tried to separate from the empire. Historically they had no choice.

Relegious conflits between the muslim expansionism has always caused very vicious conflicts between the muslims neighbours. The ethiopian christian church is one the oldest in the world with the Coptes from Egypt. It’s tough being christian in this region. You have to be armed and prepared to fight.

  5. @lek – “Ethiopia has one of Africa’s largest, best-equipped and most experienced armed forces, with more than 100,000 trained personnel.”

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6208759.stm

And, by the way, in comparison . . . Kenya’s army is only 24,000 trained personnel . . . a fraction of the size of Ethiopian army. And Libya’s army is about half the size of Ethiopia.

  6. @Y’All
it’s like a disease on this site when someone can’t get their own way… they trot out the same boring lines… ‘you’ll see’ ‘welcome to the real world ” if you only knew what I knew’ ‘maybe you need to WAKE UP’… HA HA HA!!!
anyways… incredible FULL MOON over the city last nigh… OK BYE!!!
    Neil Young – Helpless.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzReSBaben8

  7. “Ethiopia has the best equipped army in Africa”

What a joke; who is this guy? Ethiopia is poorly equipped and struggling against the Arab backed goverments on its border. Compared to Libyia or Kenya, Ethiopia is armed with a slingshot. This guy is totally lacking in credibility.

  8. @Y’All
massive full moon last night… freezing… and it’s bloody snowed again… DANG!!!

  9. @ dan valley – Yeah, it’s a bummer. Just as with Zinn, though, Salinger was pretty old. What’s exciting is that if the rumors are true that have been spreading around in literature circles for quite some time now, Salinger’s unpublished works might be published now that he has died. Rumors have been that he has been writing all of these years and agreed to have his work published upon his death.

  10. @dan valley

Welcome to the real world, the adult world. That’s our problem with us in the west. We had too good of a time. My parents weren’t care free. My grand-parents neither. Us yes. And the kids also. La comedia es finita like says Palliachi in the final act. It’s not what the rest of the world experienced these last 20 years. I thinks it’s our turn to eat a lot of crow.

  11. AUSTRALIA’S BIZARRE RADAR RINGS:

  12. J. D. Salinger…..dead……….and so too has Americas carefree
life….no possibility of a catcher here.

  13. J. D. Salinger…..dead

  14. @snoot
If you want to tease her Mep. Ask her to wear a burka. It’s soo cute a lady in a burka. You have to imagine everything because you see nothing. Just teasing. I have to joke sometimes. I am too serious. Not good for the blood pressure and make you bald, No yet bald. Did you heat that. Ben Laden is for Al Gore’s credit carbon contracts ! Ben is a greenie Stacy. No kidding. Ben is like Jesus and Lazar. He’s back from the dead suddenly as Obama’s polls plummet.

  15. @ frances – are you teasing me for some reason?!

@ all – after Howard Zinn died, I decided to buy some copies of his books to give to people I know who have never read him. Came across an online copy of A People’s History of the United States, and thought maybe people here who haven’t read Zinn would like to. The book is here.

  16. @jon
Don’t get your hopes to high. Life is a cycle. We are in a real bad one. Interesting but bad one. It will pass. The Cold War had one great advantage. These people were scared. Today they are scared by nobody. Mind if Goldman Sachs hires bomb sniffing dogs and supplies revolvers to its management, it’s a real good sign that they are starting to be scared.

  17. marc authier, well said. Holy geesus. WEre screwed. Mankind has not advanced. Its gotten more selfish and perverse. WE are in big trouble.

I just wish the ashholes that got us to this low level of evolution could be taken out or taught a lesson and leave the rest of us alone.

  18. @Mep:
Thanks for your amazing input! What a good question to ask!

Oil and gas or uranium? I choose c.

  19. @ frances – Was looking around to see which other countries export oil to Iran, and came across this Joint Economic Committee Report on Iran’s Oil and Gas Wealth from 2006.

It is beyond me how Americans–and the rest of the world’s civilized people–can actually believe that our government(s) are concerned about a nuclear threat from Iran. We want their oil and gas, and even have it all mapped out. It’s as simple as that.

  20. That link you left, Marc, has the Ford Foundation written all over it.

  21. @ Frances

You may wish to contrast that with what Ron Paul posted on his webpage over a month ago.

    http://www.house.gov/htbin/blog_inc?BLOG,tx14_paul,blog,999,All,Item%20not%20found,ID=091221_3622,TEMPLATE=postingdetail.shtml

Did you see the clip I posted from a speech in which Rep. Paul stated that the Congress recently appropriated $300mm to destabilize the government of Iran?

Several people here have expressed concern about a possible occupation of Haiti. Apparently Dr. Paul is concerned that enabling language was trying to get through the House.

    http://www.house.gov/apps/list/speech/tx14_paul/Haiti.shtml

The positive side to the unemployment rate is that more people of working age now have more time to discover what is going on in Washington DC and NYC.

  22. @jon

Well let’s say it’s a little bit more subtle. Usually it’s. “You give us a real good price for your oil. Or you buy our worthles MBS, CDO’s and Citigroup shares. You give us a nice defence F18 contract and will be nice with you. And you borrow a lot of money at 30% interet from the IMF too and privatize the whole country and sell it to Haliburton.” It depends. They modulate the level of arm twisting and raping. Real war is mostly used as a last recourse when the Pentagon supplier orders are real too low and they want to liquidate inventory.

  23. dan valley., My guess is the banksters do own the usa politicans about 70%. Which is what the vote was for his repeat performance.

The reason the banksters didn’t want to throw ben under the bus was probably two reasons. ONe it show the upstarts in the usa congress that they can’t mess with the banksters. And two ben is good at keeping his trap shut.

  24. @snoot

    And China’s export to Iran.

    http://www.wisconsinproject.org/pubs/editorials/chineseexportstoiran.htm

Velly interelsllting. China is giving also a helping hand to Iran to its nuclear industry. Very vigourous exports.

  25. YoYo check it…..

Simon Johnson of MIT sees how oligarchy came to America. Has a piece on why Bernanke vote is banana republic style http://bit.ly/9nitFX.

  26. marc authier, geez, your explanation of the modern way of doing buisness is a dark one. Yet your right. Thats how they’ve been doing it for many centurys now. “We kill you or you give us what we want”.

YOu’d think the ashhole human race could have advanced from that. And folks wonder why beings from other places think so lowly of the human race here on earth.

As long as there are some good folks that want peace on earth we may have a chance that the others don’t wipe us out again. Its a theory. One I wish our so called leaders on earth might take seriously.

  27. @Snoot
Iran’s export to China soaring 40% last year.

    http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8810271257

  28. @Marc:
    You’re the genius: O-bomb-a!

  29. @Mep:
    They import…..OIL!!!

    http://www.slate.com/id/2177387/

Refined oil: they don’t have the capacity to refine their own crude due to sanctions.

    http://www.gop.gov/bill/111/1/hr2194

  30. @snoot

Iran is also one the biggest client for Russia, and also, China. China doesn’t intend to give a monopoly to USA in the region. Neither Russia. I am surprised that Russia hasn’t given to Iran a couple of H bombs. It will probably come very soon.
Expect oil going at 300$ and 400$ a barrel if bombs are dropped on Iran. The Shiites of Irak won’t stay silent.

  31. @snoot

They are not fools. Their business is selling bombs. O-bomb-bamamam and his banksters and CIA Pentagone imperial banana republic need war. You cannot justify all theses bomb orders if you don’t use them. Know what Snoot. Let’s say there would peace on Earth. Well O-bomb-mama would declare war to planet Mars to spruce business. No choice. You need to rape and destroy at least eact 10 year a country. Praise the Lord and pass the amunition. Amen !

  32. @Mep:
Apparently, China is a no-go on the sanctions seeing as they get their oil from Iran:

    http://money.cnn.com/2009/09/30/news/international/Iran_oil/index.htm

Looking up the import question. Does anyone else know?

  33. snoot. the only ace in the hole the irainans have is they might have folks in place that could take out the ashhole western sheet for brain imperilists leaders. MUch like the isrealis now have in place. Which is why the usa goosesteps to whatever isreal or the banksters tells them.

Total clustersnuck happening and it might get alot worse. Stupid humans. The imperilist leaders main goal all along is really is to lower the population. Dipsheets might do that. I hope not..

  34. Hey. Don’t worry. The Chineese are the same. And the Arabs were the first in Africa doing massive slave trading. Soo you see ? It’s not just a question of european vissicitude.

  35. Yeah wondeful Canada. Runned by about the same bunch of people running the USA. Yeaj Mep. There was squalene in the H1N1 vaccines and 55% of our assholes took the shots. I know. We are doomed like you in the USA.

  36. marc authier, good points. THe europeans have been raping africa for ages. Why stop now. Very sad commentary on the ruthlessness of the european mind. Probably started with the hatred of hannibal when he stood up against the ashhole Romans centurys ago.

  37. @Mep
    Yes. I was squalene.

  38. @ frances – Who exports to Iran besides Venezuela? Does Russia?

@ Marc – Where do you live, again? Canada?

  39. We’re beyond sanity now:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/30/opinion/30sat1.html?hp

“If the Security Council does not act quickly, then the United States and Europe must apply more pressure on their own. The Senate on Thursday approved a bill that would punish companies for exporting gasoline to Iran or helping Iran expand its own petroleum refining capability. The House already had passed a similar version. That may be necessary at some point, but right now we are concerned that this approach will hurt too many Iranians outside the government.
Some experts say the government is so weakened that the United States should withdraw its offer to improve relations and focus solely on regime change. No one has put forward a compelling plan for achieving that, but military action would be a disaster. As we saw in Iraq, talk of regime change can be an unpredictable and dangerous game.
Iran is already, predictably, claiming that the homegrown opposition is a tool of the West. That is absurd. President Obama needs to speak out more strongly on behalf of Iranians who are peacefully seeking change. But the United States and its partners also must be very conscious of the fierce pride and independence of the Iranian people. Squaring that circle will be extremely hard, but it must be done. Meanwhile, the centrifuges keep spinning.”

Squaring that circle? What complete fools! What arrogant buffoons! It MUST be done?

How long will these criminals proceed without impediment?

  40. @jon

Let’s try to sum up the real strategy. “Give us your oil, your gas, your country for free, or we kill you.”

Like the journalist said. Africa has a dual purpose. Fantastic place to plunder and rape the natural resourcesl. But there is a plus. You can finance conflicts and enrich the nazis bloodsuckers from the Pentagone, from Nato, from China, from Russia that sell the arms. Africa is for all these merchants of death like a nice plum for the taking. And It’s also just one fantastic for the folks at the IMF to rape too. And you think that slavery has ended ? USA’s business like the old colonial powers, still there, has always been slavery, in one form or another. Nothing changes. Nothing.

  41. @ Marc – Did you catch the part where the engineer who was held as a detainee in Abu Ghraib said that he was injected with something that made him sterile?! The torture is one god awful thing, but injecting men with something that causes them to become sterile??

  42. @jon
Yes. It’s about THA MOOOOOOONEY. and NOTHING ELSE. Plunder, rape, pillage, steal. If they don’t do it to ordinary Americans, these bastard do it to Africans. Wake up Jon. Why do you think people go to war ? For ideas ? For human rights ? For noble cause ? Jon jon jon. There is nothing else. The rest is just a diversion. Al-CIA-aida is fairy tale. It’s about tha moooooooney and natural resources.

  43. The Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System went from $49 billion in 2007 to $35 billion in 2009. And GS hasn’t even crashed the market yet!

  44. And just acrosz Djibouti there is Yemen. Near Somalia, Not far from Soudan and just across Yemen. Perfect situation for an invasion. Wow. New huge contracts for the Blackwater killers. Cool cool cool. Must be a for of oil in Yemen. Ah yeah I forgot it’s about Al-CIA-aida. 100 year war on terror but mainly plunder and raping the arab world like just the a vulgar empire. They are all the same, All.

  45. @Dork @Jerk etc and travelling (altough doubtful) maxkeiser.com commentators

Fundraising for the Palastinian cargo line (the Cork people that were in it) in the Vineyard (market lane off patrick street) tonight (saturday) round 9. Prob pop in for a look.

    Danny

  46. @California Doctor
Is there a lot of money in the IRA’s ? Enough to plunder and pay the banksters, Blackwater and the Pentagone. Fundementally the message is quite clear. The government with the bankers consider that the country is their private property. I am surprised that they haven’t yet started selling organs like in Haiti. Patience. Patience. It will come. For all of us. Not just the USA. Us too.

  47. Calfiornia Doctor

    Wow…cool program.

    Here’s a wiki story …
Camp Lemonnier is at the Djibouti Airport. I’m not clear on the “high ground” that the guest is refering to.

But, here’s a really interesting Google Maps view of some military choppers and aircraft at the Djibouti airport.

    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=djibouti+airport&sll=12.667137,43.182449&sspn=0.30013,0.700378&ie=UTF8&hq=airport&hnear=Djibouti&ll=11.545158,43.147286&spn=0.002223,0.005472&t=h&z=18

  48. @California Doctor.
    What type of liquid ?

Paper or metal. Update as of today. 600 banks now KAPUT in the USA. 15 new banks kaput just this friday And this week we learned that money market funds are not guaranteed. Hope you don’t have too much money in your IRA. The government will soon be nationalizing them. Pardon. Stealing them. It’s the new trend.

  49. Yeah Obama is a stinking imperialist like Bush. Wondered Mep. Suddenly now that Bush is gone, nobody in the Democrat camp that were protesting are out there. Screwed again. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Another stinking american imperialist war monger. No illusion about Obomba.

  50. Calfiornia Doctor

@Sherri – Congratulations on going liquid when you did.

Most people are stuck in these funds until the senior management bails out first or at least until many others go first.

Bailing out when the going gets good is always better than listening to the stupid advice of the management saying “don’t bail out now! If you stay in, you COULD get another 10% upside”.

    Take the $$$ and win.

    Leave the $$$ and lose.

For now, I’m always cash me out now

  51. @Mep

Yeah, I watched it. What’s disgusting is that piece of manure ObamamamamamaBenLadenTalibanananan continues to do business with Blackwater.

Piece of Democrat party imperialist coloniast yankee shitbag.
I never has any illusions about Obomba. You shouldn’t be proud of that sob. Gitmo is still operating to and the Patriot Act is still there hanging over your head. And the Pentagone budget is EXPLODING ! Poor US citizens. It’s not just about Irak. It will eventually be your turn. Stinking imperialist.

And by the way Mep, I sympathise with ordinary Americans. Because, when the shit will really hit the fan in the USA, don’t worry the people from Blackwater and the OsamabananaTalibanaBushie will be there to torture ordinary Americans EXACTLY like they did at Abou Gharib to Irakis. It starts with naked body scanners and eventually you will notice more and more people dissapearing. Gradual tyranny.

  52. Calfiornia Doctor

    @Jon -
I think when FDIC implodes a bank, they are attempting to balance the accounts within the FDIC.

FDIC is obviously planning alot more bank implodes this year. Otherwise, why would the FDIC be looking to securitize their accounts by creating bonds on the FDIC?

  53. CIA in dresses? You mean the just men, right
    Cuz wasn’t Valerie Plame, CIA?
She’d look hot in a slinky dress.
Maybe they should wear mini skirts, no concealed weapons.

  54. mep, it would just depress me. I can’t stand some folks taking advantage of other folks.

  55. Who wants to watch a flick with me? This one just popped up on Top Documentary Films: Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers.

  56. @ Guiseppe

Odd coincidence. That tweetcast was one of the first things I had ever seen with Max & Stacey. Personally, it was rather vindicating. It was a few months after I took a rollover distribution of my pension money from another similar enormous fund and put it into a CD at a credit union. This was after a waiting one year to reach the minimum age for a full withdrawal. I’m sure people thought I was nuts.

These funds work with the assumption of an 8%/annum gain. The one I came from was pleased to toe the line at an 11% loss last year. Great.

    So, let’s see>>0.89/1.08 = 82.4%.

Surely hope they catch some remarkably good years in the absence of inflation.

    Glad I’m out.

  57. What did I miss Hic
Lost all me chips nom nom
    Hic ;-)

  58. wtf? he thinks there’s no genocide in darfur?

    CLASSIC!!!!

  60. Giuseppe Bagodonutti , your probably right. Greed can be a dark elixir. I wouldn’t be surprised that along with that there is something else going on. Alot of stuff happening all over the world now. Like somethings a happening. And of course were all mostly in the dark. Argh.

  61. @jon

    RE:making money

    I don’t think it’s anything more than that…
I’ve had the (dis)pleasure of meeting MANY junkies in my travels, and WEALTH is just another form of HEROIN…

There is NEVER enough… Billionaires should have more than enough to be content, in theory, but do they stop?
    HELL NO!!!!

    Mining companies are no different…
it’s all about increasing profits BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY…
and Africa is ripe for the picking…
    and so is HAITI….

On the one hand, I can say that a 40% Royalty is criminal, yet at the same time, WHY THE FUCK NOT?!?!?!
If you know that some foreigner is coming to rip-up your land for THEIR profit, you might as well milk them for all they are worth…
Something tells me this is going to snowball into a bigger event…

  62. dedo is off to bed…dedo NEVER left bed….ever.; he’s always tucked-in & asleep…yes, still dreamin’…probably of Bondi Boy …down-under.. those virtual sheets….what is it about Normans & their displaced extractions….buggers ALL…. Give me Buggery or Give me Death: or, at least, give me Porn of Buggery.

Normans must prefer the security of a tight ass…to the uncertain vastness of their mother’s womb….attacking Eden from the rear…too, too funny….Marlboro & Churchill would approve…with much envy from the French, Germans & Spanish…poor Greek & Italians…they lost their lineage to the red-headed plunderer from the North…ain’t that always the case.

  63. Veritas , good stuff, Yep I saw that last week. Someone is playing around again.

  64. Possible Goldman Sachs assisted false flag attack alert:

Goldman Sachs and Carlisle Group recently bought some kind of chemical company, shortly after which a few tons of that company’s aluminum nitrate went “missing”. The company is somewhere in proximity to the Vancouver Olympic site however. This, combined with the fact that Canada’s parliament has already been suspended for the Olympics, leads some to hypothesize that GS/Carlisle have provided this chemical to government operatives who will use it for a false flag attack on the Olympics. At which point, the US Army will move into Canada and the stage will be set for the formation of the North American Union and permanent suspension of the US Constitution.

  65. Giuseppe Bagodonutti , good stuff, what I don’t understand. I can’t believe these war mongers want to just take over mineral rights and make money. Is this really all just about making money. Got to think theres more to it.

This goes back to something I stated in another thread about raping the 3rd world…
Watch carefully to what happens in Haiti…
the Miners are going to be going into there BIG TIME…
and wait till you see the royalties THEY pay…
LOTS of copper in there… and where you find copper, you’ll probably find GOLD…

  83. dedo…you are RETARDED.

  84. what the Fuck does HaHa Yeah mean???…please….except, I have a computer & the internet: therefore, I AM.

When, in fact, the reason most people have a computer & the internet is because they are NOT….they are homeless sharecroppers on the run… with nothin’ to do…and no where to go….the computer is their pacifier..their living tomb.

  85. @jim,…ditto,..; )

  86. dedo…you are the INFINITE FOOL…you never say ANYTHING….there’s NOTHING you can say…YOU are ZERO….a completed BLANK.

  87. @jim,….I know you’re a sensitive soul,…..but I do,really mean what I say,…I hope you can take it on board,..
    If not,..ask me,..and I’ll explain,..: )

  88. @jim,…..explain what you mean,….COMMA’s,.haha,.yeah,..I’m the one who writes,..who are you,..?

  89. dedo…that crap you do with commas, semi-colons, the rest…are you like chagall or something??…what a statement..or is like code…seems groovey, just the same…wow, wow.

  90. @jim,….I agree,…..I’m a bore,..
now,….are YOU happy,.: ),..or do you want to fight your shadow,…..once more,…haha

  91. dedo..you are a Moron…and worse, much worse….a BORE.

  92. Marc…indeed; you KNOW that you don’t KNOW….that is REALITY….keep it in mind…towards all things….in other words: get your fuckin’ chest off my back. & everyone elses’..and keep it off….then you get Truth as a Bonus.

  93. I posted this on the wrong thread so here it is again. anyone notice the fdic only implodes 4 or 5 banks each week and always on friday.

My guess is the fdic is doing it in this way so there isn’t an avalance of implosions in one week or month. And they can spread out the money to pay the stupid people who still have money in the banks.

Anyone have any ideas on the methods the fdic is doing now.

  94. @jim,….you see only a mirror my friend,..only a mirror,….

    I see it to,…: )

  95. quite the fight…or, quit the fight???….I don see a fight…would like to though…it takes a fighter to fight…where is the fighter???…no se senior.

  100. endurance is more important than truth

  101. @jim,…..ditto,..: )

  102. Hey, the more information that folks can talk about and post the better. If you don’t believe just google the info. and check it out. But the point is information. So much has has not ever been told to us to keep us dumbed down.. I love any new information I can get.

  103. dedo…you’re sweet & modern….quite hip…your comments, your observations..well, you run so deep…quite mystifying actually…DEDO, but even if you’re dribbling…or, are you drooling??…either way…it’s inspiring.

  104. YOU,…seem to be the authority on “truth”,..how come?

  105. truth is not a substitute for REALITY….that’s why it’s usually found only at thrift shops.

  106. @jim,..why is it always about you?

  107. just give me a SLAVERY I can enjoy…I’ll re-upholster the rest.

  108. Man is?,..hmm,…..I thought so much,..

  112. Correction: Man is a thoughtless, ungrateful, MALICIOUS COWARD.

  113. it’s REALITY…I crave!!!…Histoouy is the nightmare I detest.

Histoouy is the rejection & evasion of REALITY.

Man is a thoughtless, ungrateful COWARD.

Get the fuck out of my WELD…..the first place I would set on ETTERNAL FIRE….is the Mediterranean….for Huck Finn to set re-sail for these Hellish Rivers is as grand an OBSCENITY as I could Hallucinate.

  121. I really do appreciate all the angles you folks put on these threads. Great stuff. I’m learning. Now if I could just retain what I’m learning being a bit older and all.

  122. Europe’s really just a big Cyprus.

  123. @Jim. you can do better than that.

  124. ronron..remember, you’re a guest garlic sniffer.. eternally.trollin’ for a better gig.

  136. Mr Mountain referred to Eritrea as “his” country…..quite amusing…his “assignment” maybe.

  137. Max…good guest….everyone got a good geography lesson….the histoouy remains a little shabby. Overall, seems like the area is pretty precious to both your darling Chinese & Europeans….oil & goods; oh my. Now, Max you know that every country in Africa has has a European name on it since Henry the Navigator. Amerika’s enterprises in the region began only after the European collapse…otherwise know as WW1 + WW2 + Cold War or whatever.

Mr. Mountain mentioned that he & thee were not beholdin’ to same interests as the Banksters….. suggesting that you & Mr Mountain are beholdin’ to some interests…to you both…prey tell.

  138. on the edge of africa. unbemotherfuckinglievable. fuck.

  139. On the economy, Krugman’s got great links re: the GDP #s.

  140. @ marietta – I don’t know the answers to any of those questions; I wish I did. Remember, though, that Reich stepped down from the cabinet after Clinton’s first term. (Alexis Margaret Herman became Sec. of labor during the 2nd Clinton term.) I know that his wife always hated Washington, but don’t know why exactly he left. Been meaning to read his book, “Locked in the Cabinet,” but haven’t yet. The only public reason I’m aware of that he gave was that he wanted to spend more time with family.

  143. @ Max & Stacy – Apologies for off topic comments. This was a great show. (Thanks to you too, Thomas Mountain, if you lurk among the comments board.) It’s just really depressing, because even though most of us know how brutal and criminal our foreign policy is, there’s little we can do about it.

Obama was asked by a university student in Florida yesterday why he speaks of concern for human rights and at the same time refuses to acknowledge the war crimes committed by Israel in occupied Palestine, and it was the most painful thing I’ve ever seen. He sputtered and evaded so badly . . . I’ve never seen him in such a position before. If people can’t even get the President to give a straight answer on something like that, how can we hope to push him or Congress to abolish the CIA or change our atrocious foreign policies?

  144. @mep
But isn’t that the point? how can a guy be sec. of labor, know that the stats are being fudged by those that benefit from them being fudged, and then not be able to do anything about them being changed? and then, incredibly, be outraged about it? He knows why it’s being done. He just wants his audience to continue to believe in the left/right political fight so that the real fight between the politically connected and the rest of us is never altered.

  146. @ mariette – I don’t think that Reich had any say over what the BLS did when it changed its measurement. This article suggests that Katherine Abraham, Clinton appointee to head the BLS as its commissioner, was responsible. However, I don’t even know that the decision was hers to make alone. If you check out the article on measurement, its says that beginning in 1994, people (statisticians? economists? I don’t know, it doesn’t state their profession) were looking to update indicators. (See: “an updated set of alternative indicators,” which mentions both the author of the BLS report I linked you to as well as John Bregger.)

  147. Hi, namarama!! ;-)

  148. @ mep.

    hi.

agreed, OTE is better with “live stay”

  149. @ Stacy – that’s such a nice pic of you. I still like the Keiser Report better than OTE, b/c I like to see live Stacy.

  158. @mike
why is Reich so upset about how discouraged workers are counted? That rule was changed during the Clinton Admin and he was Labor Secretary. what a hypocrite.

  159. Phil /Germany

    @Max … Thomas Mountain = Great Guest

Must get him back again !
Thx for the great show !

  160. I added this to the Gates posting, but since this is on Africa, I had to add it again. Whole section here. Gates gets off so lightly. Everyone seems to think, he’s a saint with with all the so-called philanthropy. The Greg Palast article, I think is best since it illustrates how our presidents’ work hand in hand with Gates. Financial terrorism used against Argentina so they wouldn’t send free medical supplies to Africa. Gates or his lackeys sit on the African trade commission, thereby, he’s able to control trade for his own profit.
