@jon,
Thanks for the information and I understand what you are saying about what America was then and what it is now. It is very sad.
My local paper printed an article written by a high ranking officer in the military telling of the high suicide rate in the military. This has been kept quiet but it’s finally coming out. This officer’s career is over, but he dosen’t care….he’s telling the truth of these poor soliders…..very sad day indeed. Compare this with the men you are telling about in your stories….criminal is what it is.
Hey Max,
I don’t have time to read the 150+ comments so maybe some one already mentioned this. You could make it more clear about what Brown and Darling’s responsibilities were in this.
It is Darling’s job to regulate the banks that operate in the UK including foreign banks. So if Ice Save operated in a fashion that was criminal or in violation of UK banking law… then it is DARLING AND BROWN’S FAULT UK citizens lost money. Not Iceland’s.
Just like the US where Swiss bank UBS committed major fraud. It is the fault of Ben Bernak-ster and the Fed, the FDIC and the SEC that UBS operated fraudulently IN THE US.
It is US regulators responsibility to make sure foreign banks follow the rules.
Brown is covering his own incompetent ass on this by blaming Iceland. You need to point that out more directly on this issue. It would have ended your interviewer’s questions right there.
It is Brown and Darling’s fault banks operating in the UK were not properly regulated.
Good interview though.
@Problem Is – Max didn’t “have time to read the 150+ comments” either and didn’t read yours. (j/k)
