Are you a spy ?
@Authier – I wish I were! Then I would have so many passports I wouldn’t need to stand in line for four hours now wouldn’t I?
Stacey speaking of Russians, why don’t you two interview Daniel Estulin sometime?
I sort of picture you and Max at the embassy doing Boris & Natasha accents…

“Warning: This is Not Another Wall Street Conspiracy Theory, These are the Facts”
@MAX – Thank you so much for pointing out the infant mortality rate standard. This standard has been tracked about as closely as possible by nations and for obvious reasons. The governments in the United States appear to be engaged in a cover-up of the data involving this measurement. It is alot like the issue of the Shadow Economic Stats coming out of the government agencies. These people have a chronic and pathologic inability to tell the truth.
Wikipedia has an outstanding synthesis on it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_infant_mortality_rate
For those Americans reading, the CIA World Factbook, used by the US gov’t for policy, puts the United States infant death rates well behind most industrialized nations. This includes all of Western Europe, the industrialized Asian nations, and even Cuba.
Ironically, all of the nations which have better infant survival than the USA has medical services which are organized and “socialized”.
Note the top 10 list of nations with the best infant survival…
They are a diverse group of nation-states but ALL have one thing in common… their governments have an organized system to deal with the provision of healthcare services to each citizen equally.

Hey! Too many facts there, stop it.
@Stacy
so does that mean that you are going to do some programs from Russia? You aren’t moving there are you?
what kind of vodka do they serve in the russian embassy.
frankhope, It should have said goldman sachs hires “more” cia agents to gather intelligence. I wonder what they count as market intelligence. That could be anything and everything.

O ye go Obama! great work, even before the carbon scam kicks in…. Looks like an (non-jobless) recovery to me with proper regulations so the gamble addicts can’t take out the economy again. But now volcker will save us… or not….
Anyways i thought working on tv paid reasonable, the adds (specially of the carbon box pizza with disgusting artificial ingredients) are really annoying
@jon – The example given in the article is that the CIA agents are helping to determine if executives are lying when they put out public information about their company. I find it hard to believe that this is worth millions of dollars a year. There has to be more to the story.
….late…
Vodka shots….was all you needed to say.
I don’t know, Max . . . I don’t think that the Founding Fathers would be put-off by the Tea Party puppeteers. Let’s not forget that the Founding Fathers were wealthy, and that like the Tea Party leaders, they co-opted public rage (against the Stamp Act, various other taxes, economic inequality, propertylessness, the mandate for men to fight for the British army, losing jobs to British troops, etc) and redirected it in order to serve their own interests and the interests of the rest of the wealthy colonists. In that respect, the rich goons directing the tea partiers have a lot in common with the Founding Fathers.
So what if Obama decides to assasinate a suspected terrorist on US soil (like he intends to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC33zNMARgg) and the job is done by Xe. Will the suspect be kidnapped first and removed immediately, or will it be public and the mess for the people? What if Xe decides (like the seem to be doing) to assasinate people on its own accord, or create a false flag event (for instance in response to the threat by Ahmadinejad today) or a foreign force assasinates a more popular dissident while leaving marks of Xe to bring out public anger against it..
Anyone get the feeling the barry is just another wall street tool. KInd of a shallow guy. Sounds like his job is to protect the old money in new york. Brown bros. harriman. They’re a pretty sleezy group. Anyone in new york is sleezy and dirt. but thats besides the point.

Thank you for your comment´s in Silfur Egils. You are correct in your opinions.
Ex authorities with David Oddson ex pr minister and his gang are also responsible for huge theft of money from the Icelandic nation. Also his gang has been misusing his power for many years. Very ugly case I have been workin on for a long time. The whole system is corrupted like in most other contries.
A True Story From Bailout Nation
I have lived most of my life on the east and west.coasts. I am temporarily living in Tennessee near Interstae 70.
This morning I went to the local supemarket. A man and woman ahead of me were talking. The man said he was just back from Iraq. The woman asked him about his father. He said his father had just gone to Iraq for another tour.
Apparently, the US Army is giving this father and son team a few days for a family reunion before shipping one of them out to replace the other.
This is life in a Bailout nation on the other side of the Appalachias from New York.
But New York isn’t doing well either. Mayor Bloomberg is threatening to lay off 19,000 city workers.

But I think that Deflation is s subset of Inflation. They relate but there not equals.
Its a bit Maths Speak but:
Inflation is a universal set it is a Union Set sets (I) and (D), denoted (I) ∪ (D)
Take both inflation and deflation as a binary relation as two sets. The deflation set is just a subset relation, ( set inclusion).
They are not complete opposites, one works within the belly of the other!!
However Iv still not read Steve Keens book but ill get round to it ,,,

@Fibon
It proves that’s it’s an insider racket. How can you compete if a bunch of bastards like BlackRock can leverage themselves 164 to 1 ?
Right conclusion. The market has absolutely NO intergrety specially when you are competing with a bunch of well connected crooks capable of borrowing 164$ for 1$ of equity The 4 trillion dollars is more money that the FED’s balance sheet !
It’s impossible to go against a almost infinite borrowing power. A borrowing power usually backed by your taxes ! It’s not capitalism it’s nazism, good old fascism.
@Phil:
Did you see this?
“As an alternative to rate hikes, central banks could limit liquidity by making banks hold more in reserves — the tactic used this month by China, where blistering 10.7 percent growth in the fourth quarter is pushing up inflation.
Another option is an increased role in financial regulation: the ECB for example is set to receive more say in financial oversight through its leadership of a new body examining macro-prudential risks in the European Union.
Deutsche Bank (Xetra: 514000 – news) chief economist Thomas Mayer said the crisis showed central banks could no longer wield interest rates in isolation from the real economy and financial sector.
“We are living in a new world,” he said. “Central banks used to be, as (Bank of England governor) Mervyn King once said, like dentists, focussing on a very narrow part of the body and operating with high precision instruments, not caring about what is happening elsewhere.”
“That time has gone,” Mayer added. “Central banks have become general practitioners.”"

“The world needs a watchdog institution for global economic stability. Most agree that the IMF is the only serious candidate, but IMF management and staff need more independence. This column argues that this could be achieved by having separate Executive Board voting procedures for lending and analytic decisions, and some independent members on the Board.”
Daniel Gros Ulrich Klüh Beatrice Weder di Mauro
“At present the daily business of the IMF is run by its Executive Board consists only of representatives of member countries and makes decisions that are all weighted by the shares of each member country. The IMF’s 24-member Executive Board discusses everything from the IMF staff’s annual health checks of member countries’ economies to economic policy issues germane to the global economy.1 The IMF’s Executive Board is deeply involved in the day to day business of the IMF, meets almost permanently and constitutes essentially a very large extended Management Board, which delegates only the execution of its decision to the Managing Director and the staff.
This needs to change in order to give the IMF the independence it needs to become a credible impartial judge of balance of payments disequilibria and sources of risk to global financial markets. The IMF staff needs to be independent in these functions which should no longer be micro-managed by the Executive Board.
The required independence of the IMF staff can be achieved simply by stipulating that the Board of the IMF only oversees the work of the IMF on its analytical functions and, even more importantly that its decision making mode (and composition) is different in its oversight of these areas. This could be achieved with two simply decisions:
The Executive Board should be enlarged by a number (possibly 3) of independent directors (as in the private sector) and the voting principle should be one man one vote. The independents board members would constitute only a small minority But their presence and professional expertise would give them a disproportionate weight and they would have a disciplining effect since they are to represent the general interest and would be free to go public with their views.
Management would also be free to take positions on all issues not involving the use of fund resources unless it is explicitly overruled by the expanded board. This would give management de facto considerable independent since under the one man one vote principle the larger member countries could no longer block issues just because they are inconvenient from a domestic political point of view.”
Ignore what Mervyn King had to say about including third world members: the IMF council is planning a coup:
“We argue that the IMF can become an effective watch dog for international financial stability only if its governance is changed. The management and staff of the IMF needs to have a high degree of independence in order to be able to criticise, if needed, even its largest member states. This can be achieved by putting independent directors on the Board and changing its voting arrangements.”
Here’s the ‘story’ about representation by all countries:

What a guest..

fuckin scheister!
@frances … US$ and debt
From the article I posted:
…How all of this resolves itself I do not know. I do know that it is criminal to do what we are doing to successive generations by burdening them with this massive debt (which of course, cannot be paid). Thomas Jefferson, in a letter to James Madison, stated: “Then I say, the earth belongs to each of these generations during its course, fully, and in its own right. The second generation receives it clear of the debts of the first, the third of the second, and so on. For if the first could charge it with a debt, then the earth would belong to the dead and not to the living generation. Then, no generation can contract debts greater than may be paid during the course of its own existence.”
These words of wisdom have been forgotten by many. The debts and unfunded promises are piled sky high. This time a simple two-tiered dollar may not solve the problem.
Change is in the air. A big change…
Politicians always boast “growth is good” … i.e. always talk about GDP and take on debt in the name of the people to fund their promises to get them re-elected.
I remember when the German Chancellor Adenauer ( ca. 1950′s ) was asked for how long the “Pension Generation Model” would work … he was told ca. 40 years.
He supposedly answered : “OK, then it’s no longer my problem” !
The key to all these problems is simple : The Political Electoral Systems are disfunctional … in many respects.
I have never believed in “Party Systems” , and find it an insult to the intelligence of a population.
The results you can witness “everywhere” today.
You’d think people would simply say “enough is enough” , and NOT vote at the next election.

M&S I’ve been looking through the Irish media and have found nothing relating to the upcoming elections in Iceland (perhaps I’ve missed a small postage size article in between the obituaries and nail and hair extensions section). And there may be similar articles throughout the MSM, but overall this election is not being covered. I really think you should get your arses over to Iceland and do some sort of film in the run-up to the election, also get yer hands dirty and stir it up with the locals. This is the scoop, it would be a shame to let it pass through your hands, although then it would give you something to whinge about on the Truth about Markets, “uuhh I was saying this 6yrs before anyone else yadayada”.
Iceland is the scoop.

Did they invite you in for a glass of Polonium210-ade?
ABB
Polonium 210 is too rapid. It’s for the special URGENT cases, and not very subtle. Don’t worry the CIA does the same thing,
In the USA they love crashing planes.
Like the only senator that voted against the Irak war killed in a real strange plane crash where the pilot apparently committed “suicide” with the senator and his family.
No accident. No suicide either. If I remember he was a senator from Minnesota. Ron Paul is still alive. I am surprised. They probably want to keep him alive to continue to give a little bit of credibility to US democracy.
As for the polonium 210 a better for it would have been Boris Berezovsky. Somebody wanted to send a message to Boris Elstine’s familia.
The guy sounds shallow. Too shallow. I wouldn’t waste a minute reading his book.

@Nobody….I agree hes a phoney…the second he said volker is the man it was over.
Im starting to wonder… how bad 4 yrs with no president would be?
Why some people automatically say Polonium whevever news about Russia appear? Where is evidence?
Where is the evidence that Russia government used Polonium to kill the poor guy in London?
Why the British govenment classified the poor guy’s medical record and Autopsy result? To solve the crime, those documents are essential and important. What are they trying to hide?Putin (Russia as a whole) certainly not benefited from the incident one iota but his image has been harsely damaged. I don’t think that Putin is that stupid to poison his political opponents on and on and on. And it is too expensive and difficult to carry aroud to kill so so political opponent.It is the fact that whenever somone got poisoned, his reputation is damaged futher and futher.
it’s not only Russia has been doing horrible things but also the West throuthout the history. But Still Many people have Russia is bad, The West is good attitude. In my view , it’s not russans but people in the west have failed to get out of their minds from Cold War area.
I have no doubt that if Putin had been stupid and alcoholic like Yelsin, the West would have been cheering Putin just like they did for Yelsin.
Is it just coincidence that the West has been trying to destroy the leaders, who have nationalised oil and gas?
Putin, Hugo Chavez, Moralez, Iranian president, Hussein and so on.

@Marc – Senate vote on Joint Resolution 114
Sir, I am a bit offended by your comments regarding the US Senate vote on the Iraq War. Your history is grossly inaccurate.
Please review: http://usliberals.about.com/od/liberalleadership/a/IraqNayVote.htm
“The dramatic, much-debated vote on Joint Resolution 114 was taken on October 11, 2002. It passed the Senate by a vote of 77 to 23, and the House of Representatives by a vote of 296 to 133. ”
In the Senate, the 21 Democrats, one Republican and one Independent who courageously voted their consciences in 2002 against the War in Iraq were:
* Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii)
* Jeff Bingaman (D-New Mexico)
* Barbara Boxer (D-California)
* Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia)
* Lincoln Chaffee (R-Rhode Island)
* Kent Conrad (D-North Dakota)
* Jon Corzine (D-New Jersey)
* Mark Dayton (D-Minnesota)
* Dick Durbin (D-Illinois)
* Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin)
* Bob Graham (D-Florida)
* Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii)
* Jim Jeffords (I-Vermont)
* Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts)
* Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont)
* Carl Levin (D-Michigan)
* Barbara Mikulski (D-Maryland)
* Patty Murray (D-Washington)
* Jack Reed (D-Rhode Island)
* Paul Sarbanes (D-Maryland)
* Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan)
* The late Paul Wellstone (D-Minnesota)
* Ron Wyden (D-Oregon)
@California Doctor.
There is a vote that was taken and you had ONLY one. Maybe I screwed up. Maybe it was about the Patriot Act or the 800 billion dollar defense budget voted 1 month after september 11th ? Just before the plane crash, Senator Wellstone announced that he had contracted Multiple Sclerosis, which is thought to be linked to toxic exposure such as the biocides sprayed by the US government on Senator Wellstone during his fact finding mission to Columbia.
Senator Wellstone was the name I was looking for. Real stange “accident”. At the command of the plane an apprentice pilot. Real bizarre story. The type of “accident” is just too strange to be an “accident”. Anyways. I thaught it was on the Irak war. Sorry. Errare humanum es.
Wellstone was the name. Strangeroo accident.

Hello @all
Time to chime in again to point out a not so glaring example of Max and Stacy’s hyperbole and distortions regarding the so called abysmal infant mortality rates in the USA.
First, many of the countries we trail in this category do not count a birth as a live birth for days or weeks after the actually removal of the baby from the women. So any death within a week or sometimes a month will not show up in infant mortality figures for that country.
Second, how many of these other countries go to the lengths US hospitals do to keep a premature or otherwise nonviable baby alive an extra day or week so they can bill the insurance company and/or the government/taxpayer that $40k per day for neonatal intensive care. Do you maybe think an already socialized hospital would go to these lengths knowing that they only will get a small fraction of the money a US hospital would get.
Just as many of these socialized health systems decide how to allocate money for end of life situations they also do so in the beginning of life, with the delay in reporting of a live birth it will not show up on the stats so they come out looking superior.
Third, do these “superior” countries condone fertility treatments where a women will have several fertilized eggs implanted at a time with the hopes of one making it full term or at least to viable age. How many of these end with premature twins, triplets, quads, whatever taking a breath outside the womb only to die within the hour or day or week and then be counted against the infant mortality figure.
Fourth, how many of these countries allow the “freedom to F*** Up” that is part of the US, to exist in their societies. A country like Saudi Arabia probably doesn’t have to worry about crackwhores, heroin addicts and alcoholics skewing the live birth figure negatively.
Fifth, liberalized abortion policies surely contribute to lower infant mortality figures.
Bottom line, compare oranges to oranges and get back to me with the figures.
I’m sure the US can be shown not to measure up in many different ways if the yardstick is different for the other countries.
I’m not an expert in this field, just mentioning things I’ve read.
I do not support the current US system, but I do not support socialized medicine. A true free market without the heavy hand of government worked before and would work again.
Whenever and wherever government intrudes into the free market, prices or quality will never improve for the consumer.

@ pohdinpa – Talk about hyperbole and distortions . Where are YOUR sources and purported facts? How is it fair to charge someone with hyperbole and distortions, follow that up with an enumerated list of your own hyperbole and distortions, and THEN ask someone else to do YOUR work for you before they do THEIR work necessary to make counter-arguments, or “compare oranges to oranges” as you say?
Where is YOUR data for #1? (I’d ask about #2-#4, but you make no claims there–you just engage in hyperbole and ask distorted questions)
On #5 – liberalized abortion policies surely contribute to lower infant mortality figures A) Doesn’t the United States have “liberalized abortion policies”?
Premature births are behind our escalating infant mortality rate. And poverty is behind that, as well as the poverty of a country that cares little about human life or about the quality of societal well-being. If it makes you feel better to decry “crackwhores” and phantom methodological flaws in measurement, then go ahead. So long as you believe the “free market” is suitable for health, you’ll be on the wrong side of reality.

In 1781, George Washington Said Federal Borrowing Was Wrong — It “Ungenerously Throw[s] Upon Posterity the Burden Which We Ourselves Ought to Bear” Last week, in his State of the Union address, President Barack Obama spoke of the need to restore fiscal discipline and end runaway borrowing. Members of Congress clapped and nodded approval. The following day — the following day! — the Senate voted to raise the national debt ceiling by $2 trillion, to $14.3 trillion.
A decade ago, the total U.S. national debt, converted to today’s dollars, was $7 trillion. This year the total debt will hit $14 trillion. That means that in the past 10 years alone, the United States has incurred as much debt as was accumulated by our republic in its entire previous 211 years of existence. And the plan is to borrow, borrow, borrow more without accountability or the slightest restraint

@Bonn, On PressTV, they editorialized that the US selling arms to Taiwan was a way of pressuring China to put more pressure on Iran, regarding its nuclear program. The US already has Iran flanked on two side, in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is fighting a proxy war with Iran in Yemen, largely through Saudi Arabia. It’s been fighting a proxy war against .Iran in Lebanon, through Israel.

Another mortality-related article: California maternal mortality rate has nearly TRIPLED in past decade; CA State Dept. of Public Health withheld the report.
From the article, for @ pohdinpa –
California Watch spoke with investigators who wrote the report and they confirmed the most significant spike in pregnancy-related deaths since the 1930s. Although the number of deaths is relatively small, it’s more dangerous to give birth in California than it is in Kuwait or Bosnia.

@ Phil – Whoa @ that Ron Paul video. Maybe I should listen to him speak more before lumping so many generally positive comments upon him.
@Mep … RP … do you think he’s overstating the case then ?
@Bonn
I am not sure if China is going to stay out of the U.S. vs Iran conflict like Bob said? Better listen to Trapley concerning Geo-Strategic matters. After all if America attacks Iran (even without troops on the ground occupying Iran) oil will go up at China’s disadvantage.
Say that China made a deal with the U.S. regarding Iran’s oil they still get encircled strategically and the Americans decide on what China has to pay on the Iranian oil, also to Chinas disadvantage.
An other line of thought is that if the U.S. is on a warmongering path against China anyways why should they cut deals with the U.S. which at the end are at their disadvantage anyways when WOIII helter skelter kicks off?
The U.S. knows that China won’t like Obama meeting with the Lama so do it on purpose to get China out of their cage to blame them publicly later for it. Earlier Obama skipped the Lama meeting to please China.

@Youri Carma ….. Volcker
Volcker has been there since Obama was elected .. he was just ignored until now. Why now ? … crooked politics again ? / i.e. O should have listened to him right from the start. Will O change his mind again later … when it suits him ?
It is pretty simple …bring back the old fashioned boring banks and spin off the crooked parts with their crooked CEOs into HFs ( uncovered by FDIC or bailouts etc. ) so we can short the hell out of them !
JMHO FWIW
@ Phil – Why now ? Because of the Mass. Senate loss. Voters are pissed that the Dems are in bed with Wall Street. I sent a note to the WH the night before the Mass. race and bitched about the need to get rid of Geithner and Summers and listen to Volcker. So I was happy to see him 2 days later. Nobody probably read my e-mailed comment, but it felt like for once, anger was aligning with something hopeful.
A new trend may be emerging where Web sites exercise more control over their comment areas — or drop them all together http://tinyurl.com/y9yuxkk
@ Youri – I’ve noticed that all of the articles related to Israel on the HuffPost are always marked as “fully moderated.” IMO, they do it to prevent discussions from taking place on the subject at hand in the comments section. It’s pretty hard to have ongoing conversations with others when comments are held in moderation and collect there for a long time. The majority of the comments I’ve ever had deleted there were comments on Israel, and it’s not like I’m an anti-semite or anything and said horrible, outlandish things.
Iran bugs the hell out of the US by saving a fortune selling oil for Euros and Yen. Sets a bad example for the rest of the Gulf.
Support for Swiss Franc ends but liquidity support for Dollar continous: http://www.ecb.int/press/pr/wfs/2010/html/fs100119.en.html
The liquidity-providing transactions were conducted by the Eurosystem in connection with the temporary reciprocal currency arrangements (swap lines) that the European Central Bank has with the Swiss National Bank and the Federal Reserve System. The EUR/CHF foreign exchange swaps had no effect on the net position of the Eurosystem in foreign currency. As announced on 18 January 2010 these Swiss franc liquidity-providing operations will no longer be conducted after 31 January 2010.
The net position of the Eurosystem in foreign currency decreased by EUR 2.9 billion to EUR 159.1 billion on account of customer and portfolio transactions and US dollar liquidity-providing transactions.

Tea party bashing is popular these days. Seems max can talk alot of smack for being thousands of miles from america. Yes the tea party is being co opted. It grew out of the Ron Paul movement, and has spread into a wider base. Mainly it is angry voters who are republicans. It will result in a Republican landslide in 2010, but will it change anything? Can the Tea party movement not disband as the anti-war movement did once obama was elected? We wil see. To categorize these ppl as self-serving, corporate, or only republican is conjecture from somebody not even in the country. Anyways at least some of us have the stones to stay in fight for our country in what avenues are available. That is until the 2nd revolution begins in the next few years.
I thought it was hilarious that one of the commercials during your show was for another show called Private Armies.
Looks like Xe is trying to polish up its image.
yeah, the modern tea parties are a joke, but they started out as something very genuine, grass roots and even non-partisan.
the tea party movement co-founder has been lamenting how much the movement has been co-opted by the GOP, fox and partisan hacks:
