    Hic ;-)

  4. Brilliant show as usual .
    Brilliant insights behind the scenes.

    @Stacy&Max … serious question, please reply :

    Stacy,
the insights in all your Videos are excellent.
Why don’t you offer the whole collection on DVD ?
I “do” hope you haven’t lost any.
I have recorded quite a few … but would prefer the whole collection .

Deek Jackson from FKN News sell DVDs… and I support him by buying each year. ca. 10$ / year on average.

Of course, we would expect you to delete all the address material afterwards !
    ;-)
    Cheers
    phil

  5. @MaxKeiser. good one. gave the guest the last word. guess he wast told not to say much good about gold. hahaha ;-)

  6. PS@Stacy&Max … serious question, please reply :

If it’s too much administration work to organize it, could you at least give us a complete ink-list to YouTube as a download source ?

  7. Arctic circle?? wtf… some of these bankers have been watching too much James Bond.

Yes Stacey, today is a good day for propaganda. I was watching CNBC earlier today, and they had some Toyota guy bing grilled over numbers and statistics, questioning recall numbers and current sales. I could not believe the talking head was trying to beat down the Toyota guy (who was being fairly honest I thought) but seems to be so f**king soft on the following Goldman Sachs interview re Greece problems.

    great show guys.

    S

  8. i guess it’s kinda official, Germany and France have agreed to bail out Greece. (and, and…?) Or at least back their debt.
    Germany 300+bilj exposed, France 300+, UK 150+, NL 150+

conclusion: Pecuniea olet! Aurum non olet ?!

  9. lol canu make it any more obviosu!

  10. @jfv … 150 Bio. EACH for UK and NL !

150B / 8M = ca. 20,000 for every man , woman and child in Holland.
+ ca. 2,500 for every man , woman and child in the UK.

    Poor Holland !

There is also a letter that Island minister of finacial affairs said on August the 20th that landsbanki was solid to the English treausry. I lost the link but will post it later

  12. Ha hahahahahaha tat russian Economist has same views as me on Gold
    Land baby Land
    Hic ;-)

  13. @M&S: I agree with Phil, DVD’s would be a good idea. I’d buy them.

In 20y time these times (2006-201?) will be seen as historical.
A pivotal period in world history. These events need to be documented permanently, with all the gory and bloody details.

No doubt books will be written and lectures will be given. But if our kids want to analyse this whole mess in about 20y time they will need details.

  14. Yesterday Denninger posted a piece titled “Are You Sitting Down Folks” on market-ticker.org in which he pointed to a release from Freddie Mac.

    http://freddiemac.com/news/archives/mbs/2010/20100210_pc_securities.html

Freddie is planning to buy back the bad loans out of their participation certificate securities and hold them on their own books. This will include loans purchased through March 4th.

Denninger asserts that FRE will comb through those loans and try to hold accountable the big money center banks involved in the fraud.

Denninger may be too optimistic. Since when did FRE get religion and function in a virtuous, honest manner? Also, why leave the door open through March 4 for more bad paper to get into the system and announce it? That is like hanging out a sign touting “last chance, hurry up”. This smells like it fits with Timmy’s Christmas Eve unlimited gift to Freddie/Fannie. The Fed has bought massive piles of agency paper. If Freddie sucks out the toxins and spits that stuff onto the US taxpayer, this would result in a bailout of the Fed.

We have a few in Congress who may be willing to get involved and require some forensic accounting. Now would be a good time to leave a message.

  15. @henk – yes, the bank should have had insurance to cover the minimum deposit; but I believe that the Icelanders argue that it was Gordon Brown seizing the deposits that caused the bank to crash

  16. Someone give Max cup a hot coffee – he looks freezing. Any trouble Max finding your weener after the show was recorded?

  17. @jvf … Germany 300+bilj exposed, France 300+, UK 150+, NL 150+

    Link ?

Britain’s quarter of a trillion pound exposure to the PIIGS

Here, in a chart, is why Britain can’t afford to be complacent about the plight of Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece and Spain. UK banks are exposed to these countries to the tune of 16 per cent of gross domestic product, according to this chart from Stephen Jen of BlueGold Capital Management (the figures themselves are Bank for International Settlement numbers).

  19. Stacy…congrats on your Fukuyama reference….worst market call of all time.

It now looks like Napoleon’s worst fear come true: the Russian-Amerikan Entente….

  20. I can’t see how this is a big deal.
His opponent was not a US national either.

    http://americangrandjury.org/investigators-declare-obama-never-attended-columbia-university

In the US political connections (and favoritism, nepotism and cronyism) trump all regardless to the damage to the nation and economy.

If the Makado says the Makado went to Uni, then that’s the law.

  21. @Phil: do you mean 8M = 8 million dutch inhabitants?
NL has 16 million inhabitants. That halves the problem but 10000 is still an ish-load of money…
specially when you realise that private home owners are already up to the hilt in debt…
On the upside: NL has some of the largest pensionfunds in the world.

  23. @jfv … 16 M , yes, I was probably wrong …. their birth rate must have increased since 30 yrs. ago, when I last looked at their population figure.
    ;-)

  24. @jfv .. do you have a link for those numbers please ?

  26. The pundits who came into the cold. Did RT put it in the contract that you had to do an episode in Moscow? In January? Outside?
I have a serious point – yes, Max&Stacy you have done a great job in exposing the all-sphere bankruptcy of the west. Don’t forget, you contributed to it Max. But have you lost all faith in the west also? Is this episode your symbolic defection? Are you there permanently now? If so, good luck.
Last night I just thought – the US has more than the beginnings of an answer – it’s the Ron Paul movement. But I get the feeling we are standing by a little bit while the forces we all hate – those ceaselessly energetic forces – are ramping up the attempt to side-line, co-opt, dilute, confuse his message. It’s like his novelty sugar kick wore off. Kinda like we turned on Obama so quickly instead of radically stepping up our own game to help him.

  27. “hired oligarchs” haha i love that

  32. Fed interest on reserves is govt incentive to banks NOT to lend http://nyti.ms/aiRCmD. How does that go over in world of 10%+ unemployment?

  33. @Max

I found info on supposed Bandar whereabouts some weeks ago.. This is from jan 10th http://www.arabist.net/blog/2010/1/20/hugh-miles-prince-bandar-in-prison.html

Also if it is asked how you know about the drug lik with afganistan then you could point to this news about the essential role drug money played at the height of the credit collapse http://www.guardian.co.uk/global/2009/dec/13/drug-money-banks-saved-un-cfief-claims

“Antonio Maria Costa, head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, said he has seen evidence that the proceeds of organised crime were “the only liquid investment capital” available to some banks on the brink of collapse last year. He said that a majority of the $352bn (£216bn) of drugs profits was absorbed into the economic system as a result.”

  34. @Chris – we had gloves, but it felt so warm when we were walking about because the air is so dry there; but I didn’t realize that it only took a few minutes of standing still to freeze!

  35. I hope Max remembered to pick up his nuts after freezing them off!

That russian guy was pretty indoctrinated..

This talk about the diversification potential is just economists being pricks, how about just making society work without requiring it to pay undue rent over the money it has in its circulation.

  41. @WL. hahaha, cool. :-)

I have a question : What is the interest rate outlook in the deflationary scenario and what if that collapse finally happens?

FAZ : Der letzte Anker darf nicht reißen

Actually, the ZH title is false , as can be seen by the FAZ text.

What the FAZ actually said was that if it proves that the Masstrich Treaty was simply “for the cats”, then the Germans will wish they still had the DM !

In a way though, ZH is right, in that most Germans despise the Euro … called TEuro here ( expensive = Teuer ).

the only thing we had to assist with the free styling was a timer taped to the newspaper I am holding that you can see me looking at occasionally. All in one take, the first take. It was too cold to do any additional takes. plus, our Russian is not great so us and the crew were just winging it. They did a great job I think!

You need to keep Max a little warmer out there!

  60. Economist are ALL the same about gold. Illiquid asset ? Padon ? Real Estate is an illiquid asset. But a precious metal accepted in ALL countries ? It’s quite easy to get paper and convert. It’s real easy to obtain a loan with gold collateral too. Economists are all the same. These Russians like the Chineeses seen oblivious to the fact of what is really going on in the USA. The problem with most Russians even today, they lack any confidence about their own country and ALL the ladies want to marry a foreinger and leave the country as quick as possible. Not a good sign. Still is the case today.

Our taxpayers are not responsible (which I agree to although we are responsible in a way for the Eurozone). But the Greek taxpayer is also not responsible. I would like to see cooperation between Greece and Iceland and the other SIGIP coutries to reign in speculation in their zones..After all they are asked to deal with the crisis by themselves..

    Good show, guys.

  70. Max was right in what he was saying on the Truth About Markets New Zealand that the Russians still have a Naive picture of the United States.

Sergei is saying that he thinks Russia still is more corrupt than the U.S. but I am not so sure about that. The corruption in the U.S. is more mean cause it poses like a democracy. In Russia the people know how it works, they make a lot of jokes about it.

  71. IT’S ODE TO JOY. The PanEurope anthem:

  72. Hi Stacey and Max
    I am Russian from Moscow
To let you know that Sergey Guriev is one of our influential economists of “JP Morgan School”
Notice he says Gold has no underlining value.
and that it is no problem that Russia is now borrowing from abroad.
He is one of the most hated persons among Russian people in general and especially Russian economists that are patriotic and want Russia to be strong and independent.

He lies and lies non stop. That is why he has been chosen for this interview, sorry to say.

  73. Sergei is a Wall Street Economist and I found his commentary to be just the same old blither. Pricing water, air and his commentary on gold was so predictable.

  74. @olga k. your hired so stick around. :-)

  75. There is ANOTHER plus that you didn’t mention about the real underdeveloped potential of Russia. Yes Quite surprising. 11,000,000, hectares of quite fine argricultural land. Instead of lending money in stupid USA real estate pyramid schemes, Russia could put at work a couple of rubbles in agriculture. Just to make a point. I think that the average revenue for Russian farm workers is a measly 4,000$ US per year. Property rights in Russia are still problematic when it comes to agricultur and the distribution is “grozny” terrible.

Still today. It’s just an example of investments, not just high tech and programming, that Russia should prioritize. Agriculture and the food business is also underdeveloped. It’s the main cause why USSR imploded: food production and freakin horrible distribution of food. You combine the 20% of water reserves and the beautiful agricultural undevelopped land and you could have a fantastic food producer a strong exporter.

  76. The Underfundedmentalist

    @ olga
Thank you for confirming my instincts. Sergei, like all central bankster apologists, is confident that the tax paying, spear-carriers of the world will continue to subsidize their graft. And they have been correct so far.

Salutations from Baghdad By The Bay

  77. @ronron:
Do you think the sdr is more valuable as unit of account because of its weighted currencies which represent export leaders and the UK as finance center? When the sdr is reweighted, I wonder if the reweight will weaken the currencies by share value. Of course those with access to the sdr won’t suffer from the volitility: they must profit from it.

Gold would be a vehicle without use except in industry under the sdr/reserve system, unless they agree to include half/weight gold as Max indicated on Russian TV. If that is so, why won’t anyone talk about the reweight of the sdr due to occur this year? I would assume one could not make investment prior to understanding this concept.

  78. @Snoot’ i am assuming this basket will include gold. fiat is only as good as it’s country’s resources. no one is trusting anyone at this point and gold is storing value as we speak. it’s a long road without a curve. we will be shocked. not sure in what way or when. currency’s are not my biggest worry or any form off money. i gave up wanting a long time ago. i stick with needs. my future is of little matter. i exist now to see outcomes. i procreated and am trapped by love.

  79. Max that was painful to watch, why didn’t you buy a coat and gloves? I’m pretty sure you can get these in Moscow. Love your show.

  80. Note to Max- Next time pack the overcoat to Moscow for those -7 C outdoor interviews. Love the site and all the information, keep up the truth!

  81. i am assuming this basket will include gold

If the basket is going to contain gold, then why won’t the men in control of the basket talk about the basket and the contents of the basket in future? It would seem to me that the intent is to deceive the public and run away with the profits. Don’t you think it odd that the drive to sell gold occurs precisely when the IMF is dumping their gold?

  82. @max and stacy

on a lighter note, Max, you need a heavy wool dress top coat! We were freezing just watching you and your nose turning redder and redder.

Great program, and it’s such a relief to be actually communicating with Russia without threatening them with bombs. The more people are allowed to speak to people around the world, minus their respective governments, the more peaceful the world would become.

Russians, Greeks, Iranians, whatever…..love their children too and don’t want to see them slaughtered.

  83. ]

    @Olga,

Yes, thanks for posting and stick around!

I thought something was odd about this guy in regard to gold.

  84. youri, I think your right. Both russia and the usa are probably equally now as corrupt.

Except in russia as you said the russian people as in china know their country isn’t run on the up and up. In the usa I’d say most of the people still think the usa is run by fair and honest people. Which is totally the opposite of what really is happening. Thats the scarey part with the usa. Usa citizens are so gullible and or ignorant. Its really sad and not a good thing.

  85. @Snoot. i see it as the IMF halving to sell gold. the thankyou notes are coming home through the IMF.

  86. Re: Chilly Moscow Report..

Russian guy: our Oligarchs are much garchier than your oligarchs. Our corruption is much corruptier than your corruption. Blah blah blah. I’ve heard it said that Russians are incredibly naive about US. Seems to be true Garchier than thou. Couldn’t be the best then we’ll (claim to) be the worst.

Next time, Max.. put a coat on, dude! It’s painfully watching you hop around over there! We dig you’re a mensch, buddy, no need to flog yourself to prove it!

  87. Dubai proposes gold coin as legal tender for UAE. How that Mister Russian Economist for news ? Russia is still a fairly unexplored country when it comes to gold mines You cannot imagine what’s still in the ground of Mother Russia. Just the Magadan region has maybe 200 to 300 millions onces ! I find Russia crazy not using all this gold to start a russian rubble partially backed by gold. And you don’t have to back it with a huge quantity. Just a small backing would killl all these really stupid Russians, probably your economist, mesmorized by the American myth. Don’t what’s wrong with the russian spirit ? It’s probably to much vodka. Serious.

Reports circulating in the Kremlin today are stating that a US government contracted airplane piloted by American CIA agents and carrying a cargo of a “mutated”swine flu virus intended for aerial spraying was shot down at China’s Shanghai Pudong airport by a saboteur team of what are believed to be Israeli Mossad soldiers seeking to prevent an American attack upon one of their Central Asian bases located in the Central Asian Nation of Kyrgyzstan.

    @Marc Authier-
“Instead of lending money in stupid USA real estate pyramid schemes, Russia could put at work a couple of rubbles in agriculture.”

    LOL

Funnier than I think you intend.

Many US states have had their ag land made fallow due to the inability to plant this season. The farms were made null by regulations from the state and federal level who have made so many rules that it is unprofitable to run the farms.

Therefore, in the midst of a giant commodity shortage internationally, the US farmers are unable to plant due to the finance problem.

PLUS, the California farmers were choked off from their water by the Governor Schwarzeneggar. De Ahnuld Svartzehneggar decided that the smelt (a small fish) was a higher priority than growing food for human consumption. So, now huge amounts of formerly fertile California land is not planted.

  94. California Doctor

I like the outdoor shoot, but its painful to watch Max at -7 C.
Hope you are back in NZ now.

Wow, wow, the kid is adorable. Thanks for the link

  96. Wow, Russia… The Kremlin!
The tides of time are amazing.
    Where is James Bond now?

    Corporations without boarders.

That was crazy that RT has a guy saying that Russia is more corrupt than the U.S. !!
What world are we living in? We need to shake these fleas of finance, somehow.

  97. Max put a coat on you lunatic. Your going to get sick then it will become the Herbert report, your teeth are chattering for Christs sake. It must be your new found sense of haute couture that you have discovered in Paris that is effecting your sensibility.

The Canadian dollar is going to tank, likely after the Vancouver Olympic games, unless Oil goes back up to over $130 a barrel(We are a petro- currency. Our southern neighbor’s are our true masters. Our prime minister echoes everything his Bay street minions tell him to do.

  98. @California Doctor
And it’s the same thing not just in the US but in Canada, and Eastern Europe. The perversity of this imploded bubble cut the financing to farmers. Man oh man. Can you believe that. Not just Califonia but Ukraine with its rich and lucious black earth. Crazy.

You can be assured that this stupidity will have indeed a terrible impact on food prices. Last month in Montréal food prices on average were up 9% ! And don’t forget that’s in a strong currency the canadian dollar. Just imagine what’s happening to the food basker in countries with countries with weak currencies. Russia’s main weakness is the food complex. Their agriculture was completely screwed up even before communism. Russians are very mediocre at producing and distributing foood. The potential is fantastic agri-food sector in Russia.

  99. Just look at Max bobbin around trying to keep warm with stacy in her puffy WARM coat . . . haha – & the dude doesn’t skip a beat in his righteous beatdown of the bastids that are killing the world .

May the maker of all bless you both eh.

    Total Luv, respect, and honor

  100. that was a great show! pg

  101. I wonder how you chose this person to interview. Interesting. JP Morgan professor. Sounds so corporo-colonial. I wonder if Harvard sends professors over to that school. Wiki says he is from Ukraine. “Hired oligarchs” Great line. haha, maybe that’s why.

It was nice to see you both with that great background and free of the vampire squid that lurks ominously behind you in the studio.

I think the red down jacket would have looked great. You don’t need pinstripes to convince us you know your stuff Max. I’ll bet you were ready to down the vodka shots with the best of them after this.

Great job as usual. Stacy always has such good stories. Thanks!

  102. Neville Bartos

  103. Someone needs to get Max a warm coat and some mittens.
