Creator of Cantor’s Movie Futures Platform Says Market Will Explode in ‘Ungodly’ Manner in Next 18 Months

Stacy Summary:  Yeah, yeah, the article is referring to us but I had to post it as not only does Business Insider write such great headlines (including this one) that we often refer to in our show; but I also wanted to offer this as a space to discuss movie futures . . . I know that Max has been itching to start a discussion/debate here.  (Inside tip:  I believe there is also a full feature article in the works on this story).

  7. @Carmen – good question! if you have Final Cut Pro or Photoshop or loads of other such programs, you can create your own background . . .

Maybe I should have put a smiley face after my previous comment. :D

    Anyway, what happened to Constantine??

Bailout ‘will cause revolution on streets’
    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/bailout-will-cause-revolution-on-streets-2086254.html

(Fine Gael, Opposition) “I put it to you, Taoiseach, there will be revolution on the streets if you do that. Whatever case can be made for AIB, there can be no case made for giving €6bn more of taxpayers’ money to Anglo Irish Bank.”

(Taoiseach, (Prime Minister)) Mr Cowen said: “We stand ready, if necessary, to provide (further) recapitalisation to the banks.”

    Help…..

  9. Tsar Caustic

@maxkeiser @stacy Can you two add some discussion of how this is the same as and/or differs from the Al Gore/Maurice Strong Carbon Exchange.

I think that Carbon-Ex too will explode in an ungodly manner, but unfortunately will take out most of the civilized world when it does.

  10. @Tsar – good question for Max; he’s at lunch at the moment (hopefully he’s not dissing the euro with a bunch of hedgies . . . ); but I’m sure he will be here for a very long discussion on this as soon as he returns to his computer (see photo above)

  13. Will the US exist for that to come about?

Sounds like we have a coordinated coup on our hands. Keep your eyes wide shut..

“We will accomplish our mission by a peaceful march in Washington DC, the United States Capitol, supported by satellite marches to State Capitols and smaller cities all across America.

The march in D.C. will take place on Monday, April 19, 2010 on the grounds of the Washington Monument.”

    Or

“One million plus angry Americans all carrying rifles and sidearms, hell
bent on preserving the people’s right to keep and bare arms. An ocean of
    people packing heat.”

  14. @Max and Stacy

What would you be doing now if Max had not made a fortune on Wallstreet and selling his great ideas?

  15. @Mother – I shutter to think . . . but, as I would still be in London if I hadn’t met Max, this might give you an idea of what might have happened to me:

This could happen to you in London . . .

  16. i tink ta dollaar is goin belly up

  17. Tsar Caustic

@Bonn – exactly … Except *WE* are all the polluters since we give off the noxious carbon-dioxide ourselves, so we’ll be ordered to buy carbon credits for ourselves. It’s the ultimate original sin.

  25. Hi Max and Stacey from down under.

Here’s a interesting link to a article I know you’ll like if you haven’t already seen it.I especially like this part (If you require too much transparency and the big investors do not like it, they will find another way of getting their trades done in a more opaque manner).

    Keep up the good work

  26. The markets are starting to resemble a main stream internet sports book and casino. Gambling is now the name of the game, as the real economy fades from the memory of humanity. Banks no longer, want to loan money anymore , they just want to roll a laoded dice in a shilled game.

Betting on movie futures, that ‘s just the tip of the iceburg. The Titanic is on the horizon.

  27. Hi Max,

Ive been following your youtube videos over the last 2 months or so and i wanted to send a thank you email for being a strong advocate for truth. Thank God there are intelligent and willing people out there that are willing to speak the truth about the financail and political lies that have been shoved down our throats for so long. I follow Ron Paul, Alex Jones, Mark Fauber, Steve Schiff, and others to hear some truth and i have stopped watching TV alltogether. If you know of any other sources of information you consider to be significant please let me know. I am trying to build as many sources as I can so I have the ammunition i need when discussing these issues with my local community.

Thank you so much and please keep up the fight,
    Chris

  28. I have a job where I see lobbyists and legislature…

I have a job where I see lobbyists and legislatures every day here in Juneau. It’s sad because many of the legislature are really quite poor and they are giving away millions of dollars for a meal and a bottle of wine. We are trying to build a natural gas pipeline and I haven’t even heard one person say it might be a good idea if the state just builds the thing themselves. Crazy stupid world, but thanks for making sense Max.

  41. Mike

against what? Not gold. The pound continues to crash in a TOB against gold as I have been saying… why do you look at the cross rates with other doomed fiat currencies?

  42. I give in. I know that if Max and Stacey are highlighting Cantor it must be significant but I’m scratching my head as to why. Why is this important?

  43. Re: “doomed fiat currencies”

Ron Kirby had a great chat with Andy Sutton about that very thing. Just finished listening to it.

  46. @ Max Keiser

Max if you were backed into a corner, and forced to choose just one fiat currency , which one would it be? i.e the yuan, yen,C$, Aussie buck . Which one amigo.

    Thanks

brilliant, I gotta say your comment is up there in the top ten posts… I have ever read on this site, it’s just a shame I know my your name!!!

  48. carbon trading will be as corrupt as any trading on Wall St. I have said this many times.

this does not change the facts re: CCGW

CCGW was not invented to support corrupt carbon trading

also, the basic idea behind carbon trading is sound. the available atmosphere is shrinking and this can form the basis for a successful market – but we do not any exchange engaged in any sound market making anywhere in the world at present so there is not expectation that carbon trading anywhere can be any less damaged than stock, bond, commodity, derivative trading.

  49. @Y’All
also that might be one of my your top ten typos I ever did!!!

  50. @Carmen Azul

I was thinking along very similar lines to you, but I was thinking gold coin falling from her hand. So I did a quick job in Photoshop, not my best and don’t know whether Stacy will publish it. The hand is crying out for a fist full of dollars.

  51. Sorry about being off topic Max, but since your around, I thought Id ask that fiat currency question.

  58. Crumpet Muncher

@Stacy – while max is at lunch, tell us, does he still have a financial interest in his ungodly creation or the company that now owns it?

  59. @maxkeiser.com
If I had photoshop, I would probably make it look like Max was driving a cab… “ooh, them drunken women… ooh, the state the economy… bleedin bankers… string em up… you know who they wanna bomb next… yeah, hey guess who I had on my show last week, go on guess… yeah, hey guess who I gonna pick up later , you’ll never believe it” hah, hah… max and stacy… you two do sound like a pair of over educated taxi drivers… sometimes!!!

  60. Carmen Azul

@Nic, If she had gold coins she wouldn’t be on that bench but at the Connaught Hotel (after pound crashes). Let’s see your work. May have to shrink Max so we can see her in her glory.

  61. Carmen Azul

    @Nic
Oh just saw the photo. Excellent job. Max doesn’t look enticed at all though. He’s probably watching gold and Silver riding high.

  62. mild mannered

Max should we congratulate you or curse you? Anyway tell us how we can be early in on this next bubble, that the least you can do for us, your loyal followers.

    I have watched every report.

  63. @ supergeek , Thankyou . i meant what i said .several times in my life i have had neighbours who have simply astonished me with what they could do or who were very Gifted in some way ,such people either did n’t fully realise what they had or simply took their gift for granted or just minned it until it went and didn’t bother working on it again.and just went on working in the 9-5 world doing the best they could to get by, such a waste. perhaps also someone famous is at their best playing an instrument when no one is around to listen to ?, perhaps a mozart of jimmie hendrix were just getting started before they left us ?, i don’t trust what i hear or see ,there is no real energy coming from hollywood or such like places any more . i get very little from almost any form of mass entertainment of any kind ,last year i saw a very beautiful girl on the tram ,she got off at some god forsaken place to go to some god forsaken brutal boring job,she really had no idea how Beautiful she was . i think perhaps it’s like that with a lot of people ?. in the end what we value the most in life is what we value the least ,the kinds of things that come from what we take most for granted., the everyday type of things, perhaps even sometimes boring things, that help to make everyday life & life possible and so worthwhile . i wonder with people if things were really different or just even a little bit different how different people would be ? . perhaps if such people were born in a different age or era , they too would be considered to be ‘geniuses’ or ‘celebrities’ of some other kind ? i admire people who have a gift and decide to go down that path no matter what or where it takes them, and not have anything to ‘fallback on ‘, like a safe job in “accountancy ” such people have real guts deserve to be treated like real gold..

  64. Re: HSX, Cantor Exchange

Cantor Exchange has preparing the Hollywood Stock Exchange community and players for some time now, for a good period now on HSX there has been the opportunity to practice for the live deal by buying CX Derivatives. With the mindset that virtual profits from CX Derivates will prepare you for real profits when using real dollar.

I don’t see much difference from betting on movie box office than betting on Sporting events or casino games or doing fixed-odds gambling, parimutuel or Arbitrage betting and so on. But then again, just because having other gambling systems doesn’t justifies a new gambling system with a new way for people to lose their money and getting addicted.

I liked HSX, the fun and challenging part was to get from H$2M to H$3M and “secure” that 3M. I figured out that playing on movie openers was a blind foolish bet and realized that the Hollywood Dollar gain came from starbonds, movie funds and Derivatives – Options if I just gave it some time, it was a calculated win only (but that also took the fun out of the game).

The danger from this is whether or not it gradually will make the movie industry to just make popular films and scrap everything else based on cantor exchange data. I’m sure HSX already today doesn’t exactly help small movie projects when the date from HSX players moviestock purchases is being sold to movie studios if the studios take that data into consideration when deciding whether or not to start a movie production.

  65. @Y’All
Ditto… CHEERS, for both your posts a nice change from the usual… would’a, should’a could’a… type comments on this site…. yeah sometimes ya just gotta do something and stick with it, for love or creativity and not money… also when you take the time to meet and talk to strangers… especially older people you often find they can be the most interesting people you ever met, uhm yeah.. because they come from a totally different background or place than you or your usual acqaintances… I aint got no time for the people are so stupid/brainwashed mentality… sometimes you just gotta, LET YOUR MIND SET YOU FREE!!!

  67. The ‘crash’ should come when the $IRX turn down, finally. Its been on a tear, though when you look at the weekly chart, the number posted is well beyond the fed rate. Just keep in mind that the rate posted here is only .135%, not 1.35%. Well below the recent fed discount rate hike, which was just jawboning.

When this chart returns to its downtrend, then we will probably see the implementation of negative interest rate policy in all G7 countries. I would estimate that Canada will be one of the first, or simultaneously with the U.S.

Rates are just too high in Australia for this to occur right away.

And in the UK, they have something going on in their banking sector that seems to prevent them from doing so. Perhaps there is just too much political infighting.

  68. …this guy looks serious, Max. Try to get him on your show sometime.

  69. Max is partially correct

carbon trading will be as corrupt as any trading on Wall St. I have said this many times.

this does not change the facts re: CCGW

CCGW was not invented to support corrupt carbon trading

Unfortunately, AGW was invented to by transnational global statists.

AGW is not supported by the facts.

Power, control and taxation are the goal…

The problem is “PROGRESSIVISM”, a politically right and left move toward bigger government through a culture of dependency.

  70. Marilyn Mauldin

I have been following you for several months and have been telling all my friends to listen. I totally respected you for your honesty and integrity in reporting news truthfully. Men of character are what this world needs. I was disappointed to read this morning about your involvement in HSX and Canter Fitzgerald – Please explain what involvement you have with this deal?

  71. speaking of movie futures – Will “where’s kenny boy?” and “Who is Broker Zero? The Story of How Alex. Brown & Sons made millions trading options on 9/11″ ever come to fruition? I keep waiting for them to get over the top and get debited but they seem frozen in time.
