“The private-label market in the United Kingdom is showing recovery, to be sure, but arguably it is happening more on its own accord. This offers a distinction from the situation in the United States, where the Fed is withdrawing support from agency securitization. As of today, the best hope for a new US transaction appears to be in the form of a government-backed securitization, using collateral from failed banks under Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. (FDIC) receivership. Sources confirm that Barclays Capital is lead arranger on the deal though the release of information remains restricted.”

  2. If you want to check out this disgusting POS banker propaganda for the mindless slave cattle, and get a leg up on future employment opportunities, here’s the movie website:

    http://www.repomenarecoming.com/

  3. If you go to Youtube right now, there’s a huge banner on the top for an upcoming movie called “REPO MEN”. It’s so unbelievable.

This propaganda movie for the bankers glorifies Jude Law and his black sidekick Forest Whitaker as badasses who take your stuff back for the bankers. They look like a private mercenary army, and Forest Whitaker is holding a giant bazooka gun. They also have barcodes all over the ad, including on the REPO MENs’ necks.

    Holy shit.

Whose interests are Bloomberg and Yerushalmi serving?

Might as well throw rocks at the sun.-

“but this time, from lawyers who actually know what they are doing”

Most likely airtight operations under the ‘rule of law’ we got handed from Bretton Woods.

  5. frances snoot

“and the Trust agreement assigns the U.S. Treasury the beneficial interests in the 77.9%”

US Treasury? Most likely IMF which does operate under diplomatic immunity. Geithththtner knows that.

  6. frances snoot

Does the NY Fed retain diplomatic immunity if working on behalf of the US govt? If so, the lawsuit is for show. My guess is the Fed operated under the Treasury and is immune from prosecution by US courts.

“The district court found that these two criteria were met and that the Reserve
Banks and Fiserv were acting “for the United States” and with its “authorization and
consent,” in the sense of §1498(a).”

    http://www.cafc.uscourts.gov/opinions/08-1152.pdf

Interesting, though, the subpoena for Bloomberg was won:

    http://bytestyle.tv/content/federal-reserve-loses-bloomberg-foia-lawsuit-sensitive-disclosures-forthcoming

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/14/nyregion/14fed.html?pagewanted=1

    What is an Agency?

“Both cases hinge on whether records held at regional Federal Reserve Banks are subject to FOIA requests directed at the board. Congress oversees the entire Federal Reserve System, which is made up of the board — a federal agency located in Washington, D.C. — and 12 regional banks that operate as private corporations, receive private funding, possess distinct powers from those of the board and do not publish any FOIA regulations.”

    http://www.rcfp.org/news/mag/33-4/federal_reserve_locks_vault_on_bailout_records_15.html

“Ultimately, neither judge wanted to answer the larger question of whether the regional Federal Reserve Banks are or are not themselves agencies, said Steven Mintz, an attorney for Fox News.”

    Interesting?

Mandelbrot: the market is a ‘black box covered by a veil’. Can you say “Constant Proportion Debt Obligations” (or CPDO’s)?

  9. @maxkeiser – “When is your story in Expresso coming out?”
Oh well, I’ve first got to learn Portuguese so it could take a while.

  10. @ All

Apologies if this link was already posted.

    I got a whopping parking fine in West London yesterday and the warden went as far to imply that I may be racist for questioning his actions. Not sure if anyone else noticed but nearly all the parking fascists are African so one has to wonder about this anomaly. Check out this story and wonder no more;

  11. @Danny – Re: Ralph Nader
Remember when Ralph Nader said about Barack Obama; “but his choice, basically, is whether he’s going to be the Uncle Sam for the people of this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations.” and all the bashing he got after that statement, but he turned out to be right. America missed out on the best guy they could ever dream of not once or twice but three times… shame on them.

Ralph Nader is also (for me as a non US-citizen) a person who I can learn from and translate what he does and says directly into my nation and situation and it will be just as if he were my politician and my fellow countryman. Can’t do that with people like Ron Paul and his message.

When is your story in Expresso coming out?

  16. Danny

The DOJ is just now figuring out that Hedge Funds use ‘weaponized’ financial transactions to attack competitors. They are a few years (decades) behind the curve, but hey, have at it!!!!

  17. Bonn

A bribe would be a net-revenue negative as it would stop me from talking about my gold position and no one interested in shutting me up has enough money to compete with my gold position.

  20. Jibber Jabber – Iceland, Referendum

Here is the English version of the story I mentioned yesterday, a political thriller and a sad view of the politicians mind.

Icesave referendum a waste of money or a necessary barometer of opinion?
    http://www.icenews.is/index.php/2010/03/03/icesave-referendum-a-waste-of-money-or-a-necessary-barometer-of-opinion/

“Steingrimur J. Sigfusson, Iceland’s Finance Minister has told the press that this Saturday’s Icesave referendum will be perfectly pointless and a waste of money if a new contract is on the table. Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir meanwhile did not rule out the possibility of delaying the plebiscite for one week.”

  22. capitalism ended in 1971 when US closed the gold window

we entered a post-capitalist period of Transactionalsim

all needs of capital and labor were subverted to the needs of transactions and those transacting; like banks, funds, hedge funds, corporations, private equity.

no ‘value added’ occurs as a result of transactions for transactions sake therefore nothing that can be considered ‘economic’ occurs either. With each year that passes without a sound economy instilling discipline and rational incentives the global economy continues to rot under the weight of trillions of transactions that due nothing but leech out wealth. HFT is a prime example of this. It adds nothing and takes a lot.

  23. @TJ

Yes, if your modus operandi is to front run legality then you’re bound only by direct intimidation. The winner is the one with the least morals in any battle..

Talk about virtuality, the reason this gaming mindset is touted as the future is because the rulers ain’t playin’. They are diehard assholes that will run you over and stuff you with desert sand..All trade for profit is in its core robbery. It has to be or it would be sharing.

  25. @ Mother Earth

Acting with impunity has become a habit for the Feds. It’s exactly what we’ve all been harping on about here. The US public was told from the start; “this is a stickup” so welcome to Stockholm.

    And speaking of Ralph Nader….

Ralph Nader Was Right About Barack Obama
    By Chris Hedges
    http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/ralph_nader_was_right_about_barack_obama_20100301/

“The timidity of the left exposes its cowardice, lack of a moral compass and mounting political impotence. The left stands for nothing. The damage Obama and the Democrats have done is immense. But the damage liberals do the longer they beg Obama and the Democrats for a few scraps is worse. It is time to walk out on the Democrats.”

  33. this is a great article:

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/03/secretary_geithners_got_some.html

it explains how Geithner took ‘voting-rights-control’ of AIG illigally. The same thing happened, more or less, with CantorFitzgerald taking ‘voting-rights-control’ of HSX – even though they did not have share holder approval and did not compensate share holders one cent’s worth of consideration.

Therefore, technically speaking, the CFTC that is giving CantorX the go ahead with box office futures contracts is doing so even though there is no chain of ownership – or paper trail – linking cantor and hsx – as Cantor claims that all such memos were lost in the 9/11 attacks (Cantor lost 600 or so staff).

This is the ‘the dog ate my homework’ defense.

  34. @ Marc A

    OOps, forgot about the tongue…..

  35. Marc Authier

In the case of Geitner being a Shariah judge, you would have to remove forcibely the tongue with a real sharp scalpel.

  36. Timmy would be much better under Shariah Law. IMHO American justice ( ;-) )
, if properly served would take his head whereas the prescribed remedy for Muslims would be to chop off one of his hands.

    AIG.

    Absolutely Incarcerate Geithner (AIG).

  41. Marc Authier

Ying and Yang is like Abott and Costello on gingsen and tofu. They are the Bonnie and Clyde of financial scandals and rackets, the Laurel and Hardy of sarcastic comments on banksters, the Ted and Alice of mass financial criminal orgies of Warren Buffet toilet paper.

  42. the underfundedmentalist

    A fictitious trust? I don’t believe it!
    Shariah law? constitutional law?
we are headed for good courts and bad courts,
    good night and good luck!

  43. Marc Authier

Old semitic law. You cut the organ that committed the sin. Hey Stacy which organ would cut ? It’s embarassing here because you have to cut in pieces all the bad stuff on two legs. And it’s about 100%.

  44. the underfundedmentalist

Max and Stace, you kids are a riot!
‘If Geithner knew he was breaking the law, then this just happens to be the definition of criminal money-laundering’
Proving Timmy knows anything, other than nepotism, may be impossible.

  45. Max on alex jones show – monday march 8th – talking about cantorfitzgerald’s new box office futures contracts scam

I’ll be on Alex Jones Show on Monday, March 8th.

I have been speaking on the rise of the ‘Casino-Gulag’ economy in America and I will fill in some of the recent developments as America continues its march toward a state of perpetual gambling and incarceration.
