Stacy Summary: This week we look at the scandals behind: “the owner of Great Britain” bouncing a $54 million check for a pile of dirt in the Persian Gulf; a currency speculator in Monaco moving currency markets with an “accidental Jim Rogers press release” while Colonel Gaddafi calls for jihad against Switzerland and receives zero market impact; and Alan Greenspan wins major award for causing global financial markets to explode. Keiser also talks to David DeGraw about his new book, “The Economic Elite versus the People of the United States of America.”

Good night
VM
ok, I’ll go “duos” then
Max on Athens radio!? ohhh boy, here we go!
RISE UP!!!!!! RISE UP!!!!!! RISE UP!!!!!!
I hope the people of Greece recognise the enemy.
Dear Mr. Keiser,
I would like to kindly request an interview with you regarding the Greek financial crisis on Athens International Radio 104.4 FM.
I have seen your reports regarding Greece’s debt crisis and I feel as if your views should also be heard in this country.
Athens International Radio 104.4 FM is the foreign language radio station for the Municipality of Athens. It has news bulletings in 16 languages and is media partners with the BBC World Service, Radio France International and Deutsche Welle. It’s program is also available via the internet at http://www.air1044fm.gr.
The phone interview can be live (between 14.10-14.25 Greece time) or pre-recorded (at your convenience). It’s duration would be no more than 10 minutes.
Looking forward to a prompt reply, I remain,
Sincerely yours,
Helen Skopis
Editor/Presenter
Great show!
I really hope Gerald Celente is right about upcoming revolution.. Is he going to be on the show in near future?

Dear Max and Stacy,
The sheer frustration of Mr Degraw was palpable throughout that interview(as I type am downloading his book-looks tasty). The crushing of the middle class is not only a part of the criminal elite of America, here in the UK our young people are leaving university to a life of penury. What is so surprising is their collective silence. As of yet the middle class have no voice to speak for them, yet here you are,Stacy and Max,just telling the middle class about how hard their lives are to be.Mr Degraw is painfully honest about this holocaust of the middle class and their uselessness to the elite. The middle class need to stop supporting big business and pull as much as possible from them-close your wallet.
The likes of Mr Degraw and yourselves are sadly absent here in the UK and the USA media has all but stopped reporting on the plight of their citizens.
Big business seems to have won!
Gerald
liked it a lot.
@Bonn. i did not know what TOB meant either
Mr. Keiser,
Unfortunately, due to local financial developments our program is overloaded for today. It’s only a half hour show.
I thank you for your willingness to talk to us and I would GREATLY appreciate it if we can have you on the show tomorrow. If a live is not convenient for you tomorrow, we can pre-record a little earlier.
Please let me know what would work better for you.
Sincerely,
Helen

What else can’t you say? Feel free to enumerate the restricted words.
@M/E. the dutch own a lot of farmland in southern ontario. probably good advice.

We all recognize that their is a problem with the world wide economic system, but I have yet to hear a viable solution to this theivery.
Almost all politicans are bought out, even though they may enter the fray with good intentions. This capaitalist system will always be slanted in favor of the elite.
The people of the world must now start thinking outside the box, and recognize, that capitalism, communism, socialism, fasizm in its current form is doomed and uncontrolable because of humanities inherit lust for power .
Using The Georgia Guidestones- minus, the first line (pertaining to population control), are a great starting point for a future system.

@maxkeiser I wonder if the Greeks have any of those large LED billboard tv screens like on Times Square — they could broadcast you live to the protestors in the streets and turn you into a new Greek Revolutionary Hero
The Georgia Guidestones is a large granite monument in Elbert County, Georgia, USA. A message comprising ten guides is inscribed on the structure in eight modern languages, and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient languages’ scripts: Babylonian, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, and Egyptian hieroglyphs.
The structure is sometimes referred to as an “American Stonehenge.”[1] The monument is almost 20 feet (6.1 m) tall, and made from six granite slabs weighing more than 240,000 pounds (110,000 kg) in all.[2] One slab stands in the center, with four arranged around it. A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which are astronomically aligned. An additional stone tablet, which is set in the ground a short distance to the west of the structure, provides some notes on the history and purpose of the Guidestones.
A message consisting of a set of ten guidelines or principles is engraved on the Georgia Guidestones in eight different languages, one language on each face of the four large upright stones. Moving clockwise around the structure from due north, these languages are: English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian.

2.Guide reproduction wisely – improving fitness and diversity.
3.Unite humanity with a living new language.
4.Rule passion – faith – tradition – and all things with tempered reason.
5.Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6.Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7.Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8.Balance personal rights with social duties.
9.Prize truth – beauty – love – seeking harmony with the infinite.
10.Be not a cancer on the earth – Leave room for nature – Leave room for nature.

most americans are getting screwed but most americans think that they are ‘just one socre from being rich’
and they see themselves as ‘almost rich’
until they figure out that
1 -they are not rich
2 – they are not going to get rich
then very little push back will occur.
so – - nothing will happen until we see a lot more pain – and don’t worry, it’s coming.

“Bet on yuan as reserve asset, not convertibility: Wei Gu”
Wed Apr 8, 2009
“Mundell, one of the architects of the euro, now says he is not even sure whether it is even in the interest of Beijing to do so, as China has dodged heavy blows from the global financial crisis with its nearly $2 trillion foreign exchange reserves, partly the result of the yuan not being fully convertible.
Mundell, however, suggests the yuan be added next year to the currency basket that underpins the IMF’s special drawing rights, which means the yuan will be used as a reserve currency, even without being fully convertible.”
@maxkeiser
I agree Max. Its go to get real nasty, especially for those who are oblivious to the circumstances.
@Snoot. have the chinese got any metal to back there fiat?
Oh, Stacy you look beautiful on the show. I wonder what kind of a magical cosmetics you are wearing.I think you would look much more beautiful if you wear primary color cloth such as red, green and blue because you have a fair skin and blond hair. Sometimes you look too pale when you are wearing a light color cloth.
Anyway, thanks for the show.
“The biggest threat to the USD posed by China is not an end to the RMB peg – for such is unlikely – but rather a change in its structure. Currently, the RMB is pegged directly to the Dollar, which means that the Bank of China MUST stockpile its trade surplus in USD-denominated assets, namely US Treasury securities. If the peg were to shifted to a basket of currencies, however, it would have more flexibility in the denomination of its reserves. Until then, China’s forex policy will continue to favor the Dollar.”

@maxkeiser:
Where can one obtain information regarding the reweight of the sdr basket scheduled to occur this year in December, with affect in January 2011? Is the information available concerning the inclusion of the yuan within the sdr basket: how likely is the scenerio? What spin for the US dollar and treasuries/securities if the yuan would be included this year?

The dish is the sdr and the spoon is the yuan. Good luck now trumps hope. And the stones are betting on the G20, but the stones forget that people aren’t pigs.
We can talk about this this this and this, but not that. Why can’t we talk about that? We’re supposed to swallow the good news about capital backed by “morals”. That’s what they are indicating (they being Stiglitz/Sarkozy). The new capital is backed by the G20 moral decision: a force sure to ram tyranny down everybody’s throat. The sdr is not backed by metal, ronron. It’s backed by tyranny.
How stupid are we? The guildstones want to do away with words themselves: giving us a ‘living language’. If they fear words, we do well to remember and use them wisely for within words we find our freedom.
@Frances,…The living language is a brain chip! : )
We are the borg,..resistance is futile,.

@Max n Stacy,
That was an excellent show. One of your best. You have a way of bringing the information in such an understandable way that I want to pass the link all over the place. Plus the TV like medium is such a great way to reach a population brought up on the medium.
I do want to say though that Max when you insult a whole people calling them donut eating sloths you weaken your argument. I know you are talking about a certain constituency, but there are also a lot of people working their butts off to make ends meet and they just don’t understand the scam that is being perpetrated on them. Your very articulate guest is performing a valuable service informing people and you did a great interview.
Catherine Austin Fitts says she starts from the premise that people are smart, but they just don’t understand, and she works to inform. It is amazing the number of people that are well educated and who think this (the pillaging of their country) is beyond them. I have spent time trying to explain to them. A video like this can save me a lot of time as it has so much to offer but some people (who don’t eat donuts) will be offended by the donut eating sloths remark and that limits who I can send it to.
I realize that the stakes are so high and from your view the idiocy is so extreme that you can’t help it. I suppose the people who don’t pay attention will suffer far more than by any remarks you can make… but I’m sure you can think of a more effective one.
The bit on AIG providing health insurance to Europe is an eye opener. I’ll bet they had to do that to be able to operate as an insurance company in Europe.. (?).

It’s about killing the middle class and the poor. The model is China. No doubt about it. Destroy the middle class, the poor and democracy. Fundementally USA is country runned by Nazis, fascists and gangsters.
And don’t worry. The Eurocrats are made of the same clothe. Brownshirts from the Pentagon and from NATO. Meanwhile our stinking nazi canadian government spends 400 millions per month in Afghanistan while pretending it’s broke. USA is a cancer. It is. People blaming themselves for the bankster induced economic mess – are successfully brainwashed-dumbed-down obedient “debt slaves”.
Americans and “universal health care”: “brain dead” -yes and no; majority wish to avoid having yet another “government” managed social program (like “fannie mack, freddie may” and such), which will never be held accountable for any degree of corruption (look at what DC has done to the rest of the nation; more of the same? no thanks).

The US is less than 5% of the world’s population.
@Carmen Azul
it’s has nothing to do with people understanding or not understanding.
People in the US understand that they pay the lowest for gas and food than they should be given their politics and economics.
They just hope that if they stay ‘strategically uniformed’ that somehow politics and economics won’t catch up.
My bet is that the law of averages catches up to you eventually (like now),
Did David say that the US currently has the highest poverty rate of any country? Maybe he meant industrialized country? Don’t know, but that didn’t sound quite right. Will have to check out his book and see the claim made in context . . . I hope it’s a well-researched book with lots of graphs and charts.
On the unions, the Obama White House has sidelined them somehow. I’ve heard via various Firedoglake blogs that they were promised an EFCA vote in exchange for staying off the streets. Don’t know if that’s really the case, but I was sad to see the latest in political activity by the unions: they have come together with the progressive community to get corporate Democrat, Blanche Lincoln, unseated, and much of the commentary about the whirlwind fundraising activity for her challenger, Bill Halter, suggests that “Lincoln is being challenged from the left. Within days of the launching of his campaign, Halter raised over $1 million from the online progressive community, and has received pledges of $1 million each from $1 million each from AFSCME, CWA, SEIU and the Steelworkers. In less than 60 hours, Halter’s war chest was nearing Lincoln’s $5 million.
So who is this Bill Halter? Is he really “from the left”? Is he really a progressive who will stand with the unions and the 99% of Americans who need representation? Here is Halter on the Rachel Maddow show. Right off the bat, he announces that he is supportive of an EFCA compromise. This guy is no progressive . . . just another “centrist” corporatist Dem. telling the base what they want to hear so that he can take their $, take their votes, and go to Washington to fuck them in favor of corporate America and America Inc.’s various lobbying interests. Sad to see progressives and the unions fall for this and waste time on this guy. Yes, Lincoln is a shameful sell-out and needs to go, but Halter isn’t worth the $, the time, or the votes. They should’ve looked for a REAL progressive candidate to put in the running.

The CIT bankruptcy is an indicator that the elite functioning in the looting of America are proceeding from an offshore base:
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aiJwhWb4QleU
” London-based Barclays Plc is arranging the funding.”
‘Don Corleone Financing’
“This is called Don Corleone financing,” Egan said, referring to the patriarch in the organized-crime family depicted in the 1972 film, “The Godfather.” “You can’t lose money on this deal.”
Outside of the “urban underworld,” Egan, 52, said he couldn’t recall seeing a loan backed by as much collateral that paid interest rates so high. “These terms would make a pawn- shop operator blush.””
The tag-team loot is about to hit the securities market:
“Finally we are seeing solutions on the overhang of failed bank assets. The deal is a new hybrid to the market, though media outlets are calling it different names. In some sense it is similar to a covered bond, in that the government is insuring the loan pay out. However, the originator obviously failed, so it’s not exactly dual recourse. The collateral is also a mixed-bag of residential and commercial loans (likely mortgages), with some construction loans, and judging by the three-pronged approach the arranger is using to determine the weighted-average-life (using default rates, prepayments, lose severity) the assets are considerably high-seasoned. Right?
Getting the necessary information, however, is like pulling teeth. As it turns out, the dual argument that the public has a right to know and we have a right to tell the public, doesn’t really fly well.
We knew long ago Barclays Capital was arranging the deal, and we also have a good idea of where the assets are coming from. However, as we’re told client interest must be protected, we are consistently being left out in the cold.”
http://www.housingwire.com/2010/03/03/silence-speaks-volumes-on-bailout-efforts/
“Over the past two years, the FDIC has had to take over 165 financial institutions brought down by nonperforming commercial and residential loans. For more than a year, the banking regulator has been selling some of the loans through a vehicle structured as a public-private partnership.
Essentially, in these deals, the buyer pays 20% of the assets’ value and tries to work out the loans by reducing the interest rate, extending the maturity, writing off some principal or getting buyers to put up equity. Once the loans start to perform, the FDIC, which retains 80% ownership, shares in the returns. The arrangement allows the FDIC to reduce its risk.
Assets from the Corus and Franklin banks—which include residential, commercial and construction loans—in addition to other failed bank assets have been pooled into the three notes totaling $4 billion, according to the documents.
These notes are wrapped with an FDIC guarantee and backed by the U.S. government.
The deals, offered via the private-placement market, are led by Barclays Capital. The Barclays PLC unit declined to comment, and the FDIC declined to confirm or deny that it was marketing a deal at all.”

Re: rule of law – it doesn’t exist anymore. In some respects, it never really has. But I think that the greatest heist in American history coupled with “the Patriot Act” and the whitewashing of torture by the Justice Department should be enough to tell us that we live in an America that is a post-democracy and is post-constitutional.

Re: The Business Roundtable influencing public policy, most of us are used to the top insurance companies, banks, oil companies, etc. fighting off legislation that they find threatening, but I was a little bit shocked recently to learn that corporations like effing Campbell’s Soup and Dunkin’ Donuts (speaking of donuts) have been lobbying to kill the public option for health care reform. Yes, Campbell’s Soup!
From Campbell’s Soup “vice president for government affairs,” Kelly Johnston:
“We want to create more incentive, not less incentive, for smaller businesses to get into private insurance,” he said.
Oh, and Campbell’s Soup is also among the many Business Roundtable corporations lobbying against climate change legislation.
Let’s face it: Ralph Nader is right: we live under the rule of corporate fascism and have for some time now; it’s just more obvious now that the Empire is on its last legs.
PS: For anyone interested in boycotting Campbell’s soup, they also make the V-8 product line, Prego, and Pepperidge Farms.

By your logic, as inflation makes food prices rise, the government should step in and buy up all the farms and food businesses “for ‘the people’”. Surely it goes without saying government caused the inflation, causes high healthcare costs by its price-fixing.

Over the pond in the US:
“The US economy has continued to grow this year, but only at a “modest” pace, according to the Federal Reserve’s influential Beige Book. Despite a “slight improvement” in consumer spending, growth was hampered by “severe snowstorms” in many parts of the country, it found. ”

Hi Max and Stacey,
I am an artist based in Deptford, London working with lost and forgotten scientific theories ( http://www.a2arts.co.uk/malone ). Please see attach for my latest talk in coming up in London on the topic below.
I have been a long time follower on Resonance and have thoroughly enjoyed your shows.
In one of your shows I noted that you asked for people to interview. Yes, you were the first to recognise the end game of the financial sector but there was someone before who recognised the change of global meta-narrative that happened in the 70s. Have you read ‘The Big Bang Never Happened’ by Eric Lerner written in 1991?
I am thinking of pp406 – Society in Crisis – just one quote…”The stock market has become a sort of financial black hole into which the wealth of nations is disappearing, leaving only a vast growth of debt.”
Eric Lerner is part of the new generation of Electric Universe proponents and has moved on to the practical application of his theories – http://focusfusion.org/

Peter Schiff: Health care reform = socialized medicine
Still believe all that capitalism is great propaganda do we?
Look, any reform that comes out of the senate will be a loser but not because it is socialized medicine. Remove the “socialized” part and we might be able to agree.
Many other nations have quote socialized medicine and as mentioned it is superior to what America has by many measures. If you are comparing socialized medicine with capitalistic medicine, capitalistic clearly lost.
So lets get beyond the propagandizing because we all no MSM first rule.
Call something socialistic and you have demonized the whole issue.
That is why I basically disregard most of what Peter Schiff: says, he is too prone to pulling out the rights most vile propaganda.
@Mep

@Grisu – that is a good question; many of our guests have advocated things like decapitalizing the big banks by moving your money to local banks; for example, Ellen Brown suggested this and our Catherine Austin Fitts interview also includes some advice along these lines . . . anyone else here have some ideas?
@ Supergeek – In the Democracy Now! segment on college protests, the Governator is quoted as saying:
30 years ago, 10% of the general fund went to higher education, and only 3% went to prisons. Today, almost 11% goes to prisons and only 7.5% goes to higher education. Spending 45% more on prisons than universities is no way to proceed into the future.
Those are PRIVATIZED prisons, of course.

really i have no complaint about our national health her ein oz, and dont cmplain about the tax i pay, now bailouts i would complain about.
keeping people alive that cant afford it themselves is a noble goal, bailing out rich bankers so they can get a new veyron with their bonuses is just insane.
cant afford healthcare now we bailed the banks? simple demands money back from banks ansd spend the money where tax payers want it..

Gosh. The best I’ve been able to do so far is withdraw even further from consumption. Very small actions, really. Making more of my own stuff from scratch. Growing some of my own food. Acting like a “brand-blind” consumer when I have to do stuff like grocery shop. Purchasing all of my meat (minus salmon) from a local organic farmer. Going to farmers’ markets. Spending the money that I have to spend at independent small businesses instead of chains. Refusing to go into any more debt. Again, very small actions.

great show Max and Stacy (probably they will yell at me too)
You advocate some nonsense notion of socialised healthcare of the sort I suffer here in the UK (not to mention the fierce nationalism the foolishly legitimises it).
Failing health is a risk. You can buy insurance to mitigate against it.
Schiff’s point: The US government is price-fixing insurance beyond affordibility for most people.
Why? Because exactly as has happened in Europe, the government wants to monopolise healthcare for itself to indebt ‘the people’. Why? Because its bankster owners demand it. Why? Because that’s what evil people do.
The bigger point to which you are referred: None of this is possible without people’s blind faith in some mystical entity called a government.
If you have BIg Daddy Issues then criticism of government may come hard. Man up and stop wishing everything would be different if you had a bigger, ‘better’ daddy.
Your guest: “This is straight up Mafia rule.”
You: “Come together to take back their government.”
Your guest: “The fire dept. are the same people who put your house on fire.”
You: “Come together to take back their government.”
Me: Government is the mafia that set your house on fire.
What is difficult to follow?
STOP spreading false hopes about government solutions. It’s almost as predatory of those banker douches spreading guilt about their phony debt. What you’re advocating leads straight back to the problems you think you’re running away from.
No government. If that scares you it’s because you have something to learn.
“Nationalized Health Care” is a misnomer
it’s like saying “I’m against a nationalized military”
Who are you?
What country to you live in?
Do you want to die from health complications?
If not, than the price competitiveness that comes from having a 330,000,000 strong buyer for health care is for you.
If you want to compete for health care with the top 1% that took 70% of the wealth last year, than by all means support ‘non-gov’t’ health care.
Why do you think they are pushing so many guns in the US?
Is it because they want to spend money on health care?????
@Adam C – I had the US health care system for many years and the UK one for 12 years; all I can say is that if I had a choice, I would live under the UK version; I would pay NOT to have to live in the US version; there is NOTHING I hate more than being ripped off and the being turned down once you are sick despite having paid many thousands in premiums for many years and then having to go through a giant bureaucracy in order to get emergency room treatment or some bureaucrat to approve your treatment (which directly impacts said bureaucrats bonus) . . . no way, never, ever again and that is why I don’t live in the US; France, as I have said, has all private doctors, it is the insurance which is controlled more centrally, via a few bodies; but I still find it more bureaucratic than the UK, though less so than the US; and, by the way, my flat mate in London inherited the Prudential fortune, or part of it anyway, and even she did not use private insurance (when her fortune came from private insurance)! She said the NHS was so good for everything, why should she get private insurance.
It still baffles me that people don’t understand that there is NO successful model of “free-market-style” health care ANYWHERE in the world.
You advocate some nonsense notion of socialised healthcare of the sort I suffer here in the UK (not to mention the fierce nationalism the foolishly legitimises it).
MK: false
Failing health is a risk. You can buy insurance to mitigate against it.
MK: at what price?
Schiff’s point: The US government is price-fixing insurance beyond affordibility for most people.
MK: What US gov’t? There is no US gov’t. It’s a corpocracy. Please don’t talk to me about the Fortune 500 as being the US gov’t. I find that offensive.
Why? Because exactly as has happened in Europe, the government wants to monopolise healthcare for itself to indebt ‘the people’. Why? Because its bankster owners demand it. Why? Because that’s what evil people do.
MK: Britain is a cesspool of corruption. It’s not part of Europe. It’s America’s little slave state. On continental Europe, health care exists as a human right. it’s not argued anymore because they figured it out. it’s not an issue. nobody talks about it. they evolved past it.
The bigger point to which you are referred: None of this is possible without people’s blind faith in some mystical entity called a government.
MK: I would love to see you play football; running around without any idea where you are going, what you are doing. No doubt a Gunners fan. People who argue that there is no role for government are probably incontinent too.
If you have BIg Daddy Issues then criticism of government may come hard. Man up and stop wishing everything would be different if you had a bigger, ‘better’ daddy.
MK: What about free competition? Every heard of it?
Your guest: “This is straight up Mafia rule.”
You: “Come together to take back their government.”
Your guest: “The fire dept. are the same people who put your house on fire.”
You: “Come together to take back their government.”
Me: Government is the mafia that set your house on fire.

No government. If that scares you it’s because you have something to learn.
MK: None of your positions make any sense as far as I can tell, but some here might think otherwise, so have at it!
@ Adam C
ahhh I have daddy issues…cool…uhmm unless you wanna man up and start wearing the red and black….don’t come around with your minimalist state tripe….some of us are keenly aware of the evils of the government…it has always been a conspiracy of the few against the many and as such a tool of the rich against the poor…but if you have excessively large private wealth and power you need a bigger dog to keep these little rabid chihuahuas from running rough shot over the many…it’s a Faustian deal…but the many will take it so longer as there is a democratic leash on the dog
@Stacy:
Local banks are under the onus of rule FAS 167/168 coming on next year. There will be huge defaults and bank closings unless the reg is ‘done away with’ which doesn’t look likely. Don’t Catherine or Ellen know about the exposure of cmbs in commercial banks in the US?
http://www.housingwire.com/2009/12/16/fdic-oks-delay-of-fas-166-167-effect-on-capital/
“FAS 166 and FAS 167 have the effect of causing many previously off-balance sheet assets and any future asset that does not satisfy the requirements for off-balance sheet treatment under FAS 166 or that is consolidated under FAS 167 to be either brought back or remain on balance sheet, with a resulting effect on a bank’s risk-based capital requirements. To address this, the FDIC’s final rule provides for (a) a two-quarter delay, at the option of the bank, for the implementation by a bank in recognizing prior existing assets brought or remaining on balance sheet by FAS 166 and FAS 167 and (b) a two-quarter phase-in (following the optional two-quarter delay in implementation) of capital resulting from the assets being on balance sheet. There will be no capital relief where the bank provided implied or voluntary support and no relief from leverage ratio requirements.
The FDIC’s final rule also provides that asset-backed commercial paper conduits will be on balance sheet, with no exemptions or other relief available. It also rejects the industry’s interpretation of Basel II’s internal assessment approach that this approach could be applied to conduit exposures by saying that such approach is available only to off-balance sheet ABCP conduits and exposures.”

A snippet:
Gerry Pasciucco, who had been hired to wind down Financial Products after the AIG bailout, was in Wilton, Conn., broadcasting his image and his voice to shaken, frustrated and furious employees in London, Paris and Hong Kong. Pasciucco quickly encountered a buzz saw of complaints over demands that they forgo the bonuses they were due. Emotions were running especially high in the London boardroom, where scores of staffers had gathered around a large table.
“I think it violates everything I believe in, and it’s un-American,” one employee said that day, according to the transcript of the call.

Clearly there are countries such as Greece being targeted by these

What a lot of people don’t realize is that Private Investments is not always the best or shortest way.
Take the railway system for instance. Every first private investor in the States but also in Europe (Tunnel from France to Britain for instance ) went bankrupt.
The second investor than could buy it up for pennies on the dollar but still the maintenance is very costly of those kinda big systems. Better leave it in governments hands and make public transportation cheap or free if you really care about nature (which they don’t)
Neo-Liberalism killed public transportation or made it very inefficient by to many players like in the crazy bus system in England.

The move is to limit capital flow to approved state investors that support the interests of the elite families who own the G20 banks which are the ‘statemachine’. It is Keynesian, not capitalist and not socialist. The neoliberal policies feed into the system. The government services are being dismantled or auctioned off.
The system will continue to operate following the dollar/reserve demise through the sdr/reserve system which is being forwarded by the BIS: the profits feed into the systemic alteration of the financial structure which we called socialist or capitalist.
The architecture of the 21st century will be Keynesian.
“What’s been striking me lately is how many people who talk and write about macroeconomics just don’t get Keynes’s essential point — the fact that economies can suffer from insufficient aggregate demand because people want to acquire liquid assets rather than real goods.”
http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/12/24/keyness-difficult-idea/
Aggregate demand controlled by the state through capital controls? Is that another way of saying zero-growth policy? Why do people believe they will be allowed liquid assets in this environment?

It’s the ol IMF criminal clamp down. Third world countries who couldn’t pay their debts were urged to close their schools cause the Rothschild and Rockefellow scum want to keep the people stupid. Make all roads toll roads which can be collected directly by the scum.
In the Netherlands they want to put a black box in every car which idea was probably told to the CDA (Right wing Dutch party) on the Bilderberg meeting. The CDA scum has got no ideas so are so proud that they could kiss the but of Rockefeller scum on the Bilderberg meeting. Bloody sicko scum!
IMF same exact four-step program.
1 Privatization ‘Briberization.’
2 IMF/World Bank capital market deregulation allows investment capital to flow in and out the “Hot Money” cycle.
3 Market-Based Pricing, a fancy term for raising prices on food, water and cooking gas
4 IMF and World Bank call their “poverty reduction strategy”: Free Trade- “The IMF riot.”

There can be no real statistical measurement of the human and material cost of World War II. The money cost to governments involved has been estimated at more than $1,000,000,000,000 but this figure cannot represent the human misery, deprivation, and suffering, the dislocation of peoples and of economic life, or the sheer physical destruction of property that the war involved.
The cost of one trillion, ..the question, who received the payment?
(That’s rhetorical BTW)
To argue about health care and the like, is merely avoiding the real questions (see above)

@maxkeiser
First some unavoidable facts:
Life is a risk. You can get ill. It’s certain you will die.
I live on a landmass that has a flag stuck in it belonging to something called a nation. There are no nations. And since there are no nations there’s no need to protect them.
So I AM in fact saying “I’m against a nationalized military.” Which is only to say I’m against delusions and violence on principle and in practice.
What does need protecting are people and property. For this we have common law and moral conscience. No amount of guns made people better, they only pretended to be to save getting hurt. Violence breeds violence and so I ask,
Who are YOU? And why are you trying to appeal to nationalism to shame me into being some kind of bogey man who’s against the health of the people?
Healthcare:
You seriously believe that a government is interested in socialised healthcare to save money via bulk pricing? That is recklessly naive and ignores the problem that once government becomes a monopoly supplier, no true price discovery is possible and so innovation just won’t happen. THIS is the real problem. Whilst we can quite easily say price-discovery allows for lower prices as resources are eventually better allocated, what’s even more important is to make the saving so that we can invest it in innovation to PREVENT people from getting ill in the first place and to CURE them if they do. THIS is the larger moral purpose to free market thinking in health care. It’s not about winning a ‘people vs the insurance industry’ populist debate of which you seem to revel in. Who cares about your ego when people are suffering needlessly.
@StacyHerbet
Next some perspective.
If the US so-called free market healthcare industry is so much worse than the NHS, then the issue of getting government meddling out of it is even more urgent.
We can’t just use relativism to make our arguments, Stacy. There are principals, evidence and facts. We can’t say that because one corrupted healthcare system is marginally better than another corrupted one, that that’s it – we’ve identified the best of the worst and there’s nothing more to be done. We are creative and compassionate human beings. There’s always improvement to be made and it’s made easier by having objective, rational, and moral principles that work for everyone, everywhere such that one effort to apply them inspires yet another.
“I would pay NOT to have to live in the US version”
You don’t like getting ripped off. This isn’t just about healthcare, it’s about people getting ripped off. Who’s facilitating and incentivizing it? The government.
“…being turned down once you are sick despite having paid many thousands in premiums for many years and then having to go through a giant bureaucracy in order to get emergency room treatment or some bureaucrat to approve your treatment..”
You think government owned healthcare isn’t a giant bureaucracy? You think that because government-captured insurance has a corporate front that it’s not part of a giant bureaucracy?
Again, you don’t like bureaucracy. This isn’t just about healthcare, it’s about bureaucracy. Who’s facilitating and incentivizing it? The government.
Before the oligarchs in England created the opportunity for themselves to impose a nationalised healthcare system on its war-battered populace, we had chairties and churches would could easily manage emergency healthcare needs. People are fundamentally good. It’s government that spreads the myth that we’d all kill each other if it weren’t for them and their exclusive ‘protection’. And what happens because of it? Endless forum debates where well intentioned people are going at each other as if their opinions matter. Opinions don’t matter, only the truth matters and the truth is government is a mendacious, malicious, mafia and can only be bribed with hard cash to serve anyone’s interest.
We are not in disagreement with ends only means. Using the government to solve the government NEVER works because the government is the problem.
Doctors, nurses, porters, admins, cleaners, THESE are the people delivering healthcare when you (unfortunately) need it. The insurance companies can pay out money needed to pay for it. The only nonsense getting in the way is government middleman nonsense for the benefit or itself and its mercantilist corporate buddies.
I posted a link to Stefan Molyneux explaining mercantilism and I do so again so that you can rid yourselves of the delusion that government is in any way a means to solve anything because 1) You both desperately need to 2) Your audience is being given false hope via your posturings and assumptions and in the current political climate, it’s just too dangerous. This is the 21st century. We don’t need more nationalist/socialist/fascist dictators rising to power off the back of populist government ‘solutions’.
Freedomain Radio — #642 Mercantilism: A theory of state and corporations (MP3)
Gisted — “Mercantilism is simply the transfer of money from the State to particular corporations in return for services without which the State cannot function.” Mercantilism is inevitable whenever there’s a State because the State is fundamentally helpless and can’t do anything for itself. — The government has three relationships in the economy. With: #1. Criminals: The black/gray market. #2. Net-providers of taxes: Companies the State steals from. #3. Net-receivers of taxes: Companies the State gives to via subsidies, tariffs, guaranteed contacts, etc, in order to get things done. — As State power grows mercantilism always ends up as fascism as more and more corporations get their value from, and give their allegiance to, the State. Eventually, when the bloated State has destroyed all geniune wealth creation in the economy, it starts printing money just to pay off the mercantilist corporations it has hired to maintain the appearance that anything reasonable is getting done at all.’

Generally the term ‘risk cartel’ is never used, because its too embarrassing to acknowledge that someone else trades in your own risk. You don’t own your own risk any longer.
That’s the biggest change overall. I’m sure there are widespread examples of how anybody attempting to take back their own risk have been nailed to the cross, and this is in every society that is controlled by corporations, rather than the body politic.
The outcome of events since 9/11 is like some sort of grand scheme to prove the ascendancy of Social Darwinism. If you’re a flabby doughnut eater and want to prove you’re actually tyranosaurus rex, its a whole heck of a lot easier when you impoverish just about everyone else.

Your analysis has merit. Its always been on my mind that ever since tribal groups stopped being hunter gatherers and went on to farm lands which meant they stayed in one place that then these groups needed protection (security) The strong men which offered protection against rival war bands did so in return for treasure from the farmers (eventually city dwellers) thus was government formed as a protection racket. How to balance the need for security with individual liberty has always been the struggle. Currently the strong men have joined together with the war bands to steal all the treasure and make us all serfs. This is not the first time this has happened, but it is the first time that its is being attempted on a global basis.

I think without the government contracts, they’d just be a bunch of unemployed faggots running around playing ‘war’.
Of course, people are violent, but there’s a reason: prior violence. Violence isn’t going to disappear overnight which is why I am 100% against any sublimination of it into some false moral institution called the ‘government.’
I am against the government and any support of it because I am against ALL violence.
Saying that seems to make people uncomfortable. I’m sorry, but that’s just how it is.

Not to nit-pick but to demonstrate a perspective, the gap between CEO earnings and those of workers is wider than quoted in the show. Earnings as conventionally viewed don’t take into account that workers are slaves who pay for their keep via the slave-owners’ market with their allowance (what the government lets them keep). After these workers pay for their slave hovels, gruel, garments etc, their remaining allowance that they can spend in any way they choose, is far less than one 500th of what CEOs would have remaining for themselves after affording themselves similar break-time living conditions. In terms of genuinely elective/discretionary spending CEOs earn thousands as much as the slaves working for the same corporations.

Facinating article. How’s the weather now where you r?
Watch this video and you will know the culprits of most of the serious problems facing the West and America in particular. The Khazarian Conspiracy, Part 1 of 12
Yes I do realize wealth distribution is unequal in the US, but how much do the top 1% own in the beloved France or Greece or Germany, or how about Qatar or the UAE, China, Japan,England. True the official poverty figures in the US look bad but do you explain what poverty looks like in the US, food stamps, free housing, free medical care, free education with free meals, increasing welfare for each child with a deadbeat absent father. The system we the ignorant people of the US have built for ourselves, with much assistance from the government who themselves got assistance from the FED reserves printing presses, abets and harbors the welfare mentality prevalent and ingrained into the minds of our teeming masses. The very systems charged with the social safety nets we now have in place are much of the problem itself. Once charity gets enticed into the web of government oversight, you are assured it will always be needed in an ever increasing amounts, until ultimately it ends with the feudal system we are now evolving into. I think someone said something like “a welfare state is an anathema to a free society”.
Speaking of wealth distribution, how about those government employee unions that are distributing the wealth of the taxpayers right into their greedy paws, bankrupting states and municipalities and school districts, refusing pay cuts which causes job cuts, keeping their guaranteed benefit pensions fully paid for by taxpayers while non-union workers take pay cuts and contribute to their pensions. Government union members are now a majority of union members in this country, their pay 40-100% more than non government workers,
are they twice as efficient, twice as smart.
Unions only aid and abet the ongoing ponzi of illusory wealth, they are enablers of their members over-inflated financial egos, misrepresenting their worth as a worker. Just as banks hold hidden losses on their books, union members hold hidden losses on their earning power. Marked to market a union worker might be only worth half of his/her mark to model and when their greed ends in massive government layoffs they will discover that true price. Has Max or Stacy or any of their guests ever been in a union, watched as it destroyed a small company with outrageous wage and benefit demands, threaten to destroy the company with strikes and eventually driving that factory to move jobs first south then to Mexico, I have. Isn’t that the economic equivalent of what Hank Paulson did with congress, threaten destruction unless demands were met. What was the outcome, demands were met and destruction followed anyway. By the way, that was the UAW and the company made truck mirrors. I quit to go back to school. I took a 50% pay cut from that job when I went into electronic design, luckily as non-union because this time I was to watch the destruction from outside the union but inside the corporation. There I couldn’t pack up my desk contents into boxes and move them across the room for fear a union member see it and report I was doing a job of a union member. God forbid if I connected up the computer on my desk or swapped a monitor, you’d think it was a capitol offense. Again the outcome was the same, union meddling in day to day operations, seniority, wage and benefits destroyed the union manufacturing operations but the design part lived on, severely curtailed but alive.
Now to campaign finance reform, why should a private citizen like say Michael Moore or Al Gore, be able to spend millions under the covert cover of a documentary film be able to basically lobby the american people, attempting to sway public opinion through obfuscation and hyperbole, while a company, corporation or industry cannot. Do these so called “private” citizens have a monopoly on “truth”, do only “non-private” entities “lie”. If lying is a legitimate means to an end for progressives, it should also be for companies, industries, neocons, nazis, communists and any other individual or group. Freedom to speak is not just an individual right when there is also freedom to assemble. Al Gore can scream, FIRE IN THE SKY!, in the crowded kabuki theatre of climate-scam, causing a deadly stampede while Exxon has to tap each audience member on the shoulder and whisper to them that they are needed outside in the parking lot one at a time, maybe under the pretense of their car lights being on, then strangle them. The ends are the same, why not the means. With full disclosure of economic and political entanglements and transparency a level playing field is not an impediment to truth or justice
