Cui bono? Name names. We know Al Gore’s positioned himself to become a carbon billionaire. Who else is in the game? Who in Congress/the Executive Branch might have conflicts of interest?
Also: Why aren’t any of TPTB proposing the more obvious, simpler to administer, revenue-positive-for-gov’t alternative: A direct tax on energy? Is it only because the same opportunities for graft aren’t there? Is that a rhetorical question?
Carbon Trading Scheme:

Helen, What could Greece do politically, to safeguard their Islands from being sold off to the banks?
Is this topic being discussed in Greece? If so, how?
Is the Greek public aware of what fiat currency is? Germany taking Greek gold in WWII seems to have a general relationship to this idea; is the German gold given much press and/or taken seriously by the general public in Greece? If so, how?

Could big banks be using this “crisis” in an effort to “dock” the American currencies with the Euro? In such a case, bankers ‘ profiteering would be a secondary motive, and if the Euro comes down to “par” with the US-Canada-Mexico Exchange, no other countries would need to meltdown.

just had a thought could you ask Mark why the governments are so keen to implement ethanol blend petrol. It gives less miles per gallon, has a limited shelf life, requires on site blending , the ethanol in the existing underground storage tanks acts like a detergent blocking the filters on the pumps requiring more engineer visits,, water in the tanks rather than sitting on the bottom like it does now, naturally forms a bond with the ethanol putting the whole stock off spec and causing cars to break down the ethanol plant material has to be shipped from Brazil, and there is no cost benefit to the customer.
The only conclusion I can come to is that it is a big con, call it a green fuel in actual fact the only reason for its being is that it is making money for the makers of the ethanol part of the fuel, guess who owns 50% of the ethanol production plants that require large amounts of energy to produce, I’ll give you a clue , their catchphrase on their adverts is “every little helps”

I.e.: will it verifiable change the temperature more than 0.1 degree celsius over the next 10 years?
Here’s a question on Greece: If the Greeks were given a chance to exit the Euro (seems this mechanism is being discussed) would the Greek people support it, and would it mean a return to the Drachma?
(Maybe the solution is to have a new regional trading currency, independent from the Euro, called the GIPSI == PIIGS. This could be something like the ‘junk bonds’ of the currency markets).

Ask him why he thinks it makes any difference if you feed back the revenue from the supply side carbon tax into the economy? Imho if you don’t makes sure the money is spend on emission reduction and alternative energy you simply create a new circulation system whereby people are charged more to pay for the tax, but then are taxed less to make up for the charge. Bansk also get more work as does the government. No wonder this law was easily passed in British Columbia.
Simply funnel all oil and gas revenue to replacement energy and forbid the energy companies of having any influence on the political process.
