Another interview over at Kingworld News http://www.kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/Broadcast/Entries/2010/3/31_GATA.html

In this interview with GATA we continue the saga after just having interviewed Andrew Maguire, the whistleblower out of London. This gives a short and long-term view down the rabbit hole through the eyes of 3 of the GATA board members. GATA was so heavily involved not only in breaking the news at the CFTC meeting about the the metals manipulation but also at the same time quite possibly uncovering the largest fraud in history. The Gold Anti-Trust Action Committee was organized in January 1999 to advocate and undertake litigation against illegal collusion to control the price and supply of gold and related financial securities. The committee arose from essays by Bill Murphy, a financial commentator, and by Chris Powell, a newspaper editor in Connecticut, published at Murphy’s Internet site, lemetropolecafe.com. In this GATA Roundtable we will have Bill Murphy, Chris Powell and Adrian Douglas.

  17. @Max

Does it matter whether the mainstream media covers the gold price manipulation? The market is still vulnerable to attack from those who do pay close attention..

I understand what will happen is that the manipulators will try to drive the price down by offering contracts for sale, which will then all be bought by buyers asking delivery.

To defend there can be no big short positions, but this will drive the price of contracts up and probably freeze the market up. Could they try to drive the price up until an attack becomes to expensive?

House and commercial real estate in NZ has being going down for the last 2 years, some selected areas in Auckland have shown some growth however most property values have declined around 6-7% across the country. In Australia their real estate has continued to grow with the Ozzie central bank recently increasing rates to try to slow this down. Australia has been the recipient of “hot” money from Asia whereas NZ has not.

I don’t know what Phil thinks, but that guy reminds me of a stock board DUMPER

He’s saying that the market is going to crash when the Gov’t starts selling C (i.e. Citigroup)

    WHY??!?!?!
he states that it’s going to happen in the next month or two, then later states he doesn’t know when…

Traders have been WAITING for the gov’t to sell their C shares…
they aren’t going to do it en masse
    it will happen in tranches
And IF they drive the price down, then institutional buyers will be ready to pick and flip… riding it down until it is all gone… once at the bottom, the short squeeze will commence…
it will have little ramification on the market as a whole (except PERHAPS in the Financial sector)

After that, everything else he’s saying is dilettante garbage…

Some interesting articles posted before here somewhat confirm of what I’ve been thinking all along. Wall Street doesn’t want to work for a living (like digging tunnels for instance) that’s why these crooks work there in the first place.

So, what they are gonna do is steel the money from the world by playing the commodity markets and keep them volatile and rip them with their inside knowledge. How many times you’ve red headlines like “U.S. Oil Inventories Unexpectedly Low or UP”? Always “unexpectedly” as if they are stupid and don’t know how many oil they have in storage.

Astrology: Predictions 30 Mar 2010 – Volatile trends likely for silver http://www.commodityonline.com/astrology/Volatile-trends-likely-for-silver-480.html

  66. Inflation/Deflation.

    One causes the other.

    1. Inflation causes prices to shoot up( ie commodities at the moment)….
    2. Therefore causing deflation (due to the fact that no one can afford anything and production just stops, ok slows rapidly)
    3. Then, due to minimal production of anything prices start to go up again as so little is being produced.
Trouble is jobs tend to lag.

Not much to look forward to on this front.

You should note that, while the FBI was concentrated on criminal gangs outside of financial institutions, Black believes the problem is the collusion of the financial institutions themselves in the frauds. Obviously, in an environment that relies largely on self-reporting by regulated institutions, there is no incentive to report, if much of the criminal activity is within those institutions.

Deficits set to dictate currency markets 29 March 2010 (The Financial Times)

While Greece’s recent debt problems might have been the first ‘canary in the coal mine’ test of sovereign debt tolerance, it now looks as though the canary may have taken a trip to the US, says Steve Barrow, analyst at Standard Bank.

He says last week’s big rise in US government bond yields, and the poor reception to the latest Treasury auctions, have raised concerns that there could be an overseas buyers’ strike. At the same time, he says, negative swap spreads appear to indicate there is more perceived risk in the government than in banks.

But Mr Barrow is not sure that the pressure on Treasuries will grow and become the “next big thing” in the market. “We still feel there are plenty more strains in the eurozone to go through that will help pull the euro down to the $1.25 area in the near term.

“But what the slump in Treasuries may suggest is that countries with huge deficits – like the US, UK, much of the eurozone and Japan – will see their currencies suffer as a group relative to many of those outside the G4 with healthier budget positions.

“In other words, the big trends will be in non-G4 currencies against G4, such as dollar/Norway or euro/Aussie, and in emerging market currencies.

“In the past, investors largely took the view that emerging market currencies could only strengthen if euro/dollar was rising. But as long as that canary keeps flying between the US and the eurozone, and stopping off in the UK and Japan, this is no longer the case.”

  105. Youri Carma

The breakdown of the historic relationship between US government bonds and interest rate swaps – with swap rates falling below the yield on government paper for the first time last week – can be pointed to as the latest example of misplaced faith in financial theory and models.

US Federal Reserves and Bank of England merging
    http://www.centralbankwatch.com/2010/04/01/business/global/01merging.html?ref=business

“Documents classified (TOP SECRET/NOFORN) has leaked from a highly secretive meeting that took place in Washington DC yesterday. Members from the US government and Federal Reserve System including Timothy Geithner and Ben Bernanke met with Bank of England members including Governor Mervyn King along with representatives from Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Rothschild, HSBC and Barclays to close a long negotiation process of the two central banks. According to the top secret document an agreement to merge Federal Reserve System with Bank of England into one unified central bank has been made.”

“There is no detailed information on why this agreement has been met but the document do reveal desires of private bankers to get total control of the US Dollar and Pound Sterling -in other words the money printing press.”

“CentralBankWatch will keep posting updates continuously as we work our way through this document.”

Great link! However it would not be a surprise if we find that the stockholders of both the Bank of England and the Fed are very similar already and have in fact been effectively merged through joint stock holders from the beginning

It’s a lot to think of it, like the famous “assignats” in France during the French revolution. The assignats were “backed” by the nationalized real estate of the church. The french investors and the french government used EXACTLY the same reasoning and the SAME arguments that in the anglo-saxon world. Infinite assignats or infinite credit based on the pseudo-economic magical thinking that real estate always goes up and that they don’t make more. Where do you go ? You go to hell like in Greece. Much much much higher interest rates at the worst of times. Le baiser de la mort.

  111. Stacy,

You get my shout out for the quote this week:

  127. Mr.Keiser,

I am contacting you from the flagship show of an Irish national radio station called Newstalk radio. Obviously on our show this evening we are covering the bailout of Anglo Irish Bank. Yesterday the Government said they will give Anglo Irish 10.4billion while another institution Irish Nationwide will receive 2.7billion. The European Commission have approved it but are investigating the decision. It was also annouced that the National Asset Management Agency (Nama) will acquire over 1,200 individual loans with a nominal value of €16 billion for f €8.5 billion, representing an average discount of 47%, far more of a discount than originally expected. We would love to hear your views on the ongoing situation here in Ireland. What is the best number to contact you at to discuss this further? I am contactable on any of the numbers below. Ideally we would like to speak to you at 5.50 Irish time this evening which is just 20 minutes away.

    Regards,

    Sandra

  128. Sandra, you see..Check in the box! ;-)

    Irish Banks :

March 31 2010: Nobody’s kidding nobody about where it goes

…Irish banks are in very deep, so we learn increasingly, $43 billion deep for a country of 4.5 million people (for the US at 300+ million, that would mean $2.8 trillion). Are they the only banks that need to reveal much bigger losses than they have so far, even after previous bail-outs and writedowns? Hell no, they’re not. For instance, according to Elizabeth Warren, because 50% of all US commercial real estate loans will be underwater by the end of this year, 2988 smaller US banks will be at risk at varying degrees. Anyone still want to talk recovery?….

A few weeks ago you mentioned the fact that so many people in the US still use slow dialup connections. Yesterday, I spoke with a friend in Philly who has broadband at the office and dialup at home. He wants to look in on this site but can’t do it during business hours and at home, it takes forever to load the pages because they’re packed up with Youtube clips that need to load before he can even scroll down.

My point is that you may be able to get more US readers if you cut down on the vids at the right of the page. The ads don’t seem to cause these delays so you won’t cut into that revenue stream.

You must have wondered why you have so few comments from Americans. I did and asked the question. Now you know I hope you consider different ways to speed up the page loading.

This is NOT an Aprils fools joke ;-)

  166. @Bonn : No prob, Bonn, I believe that it is true but it’s a difficult thing to search for…and I’ve not had any luck finding it. There are some amazing statistics, I was listening to Buckminster Fuller the other day and he stated that less than 1% of the world’s population were scientists and this was a reason for a big disconnect between the physical/financial/human world. He spent most of his career trying to discover ‘nature’s coordinate system’ because he thought this would bridge the gap. We used to compile statistics on concrete consumption per capita as a measure of development activity. All these stats are very very meaningful but are difficult to measure accurately….they give a snapshot of what is rally going on on the earth…
