@ Stacy – My gut says that the civil charges are theater. It will satisfy people who are conned into believing that justice it being served at the same time that it puts the GOP in the position of defending the status quo re: the current burgeoning debate about financial regulation. Obama and the Dems want to move on regulation; Obama recently said he’d veto any bill that does not contain derivatives regulation. However, Geithner has specified that “standard” derivatives are the ones that need to be regulated. For some reason, I don’t think that “standard derivatives” include the ones that are most problematic.
Also, there’s been some more talk lately of pushing the Dodd bill through. So looks to me like Obama is trying to fool the public into thinking that the big bad Goldman is being fairly punished, and trying to to use the civil charge as a springboard to stage another “political win” before November by hammering the big banks rhetorically, pushing through nothing legislation, and acting as though Geithner’s shitty regulation will actually do something worthwhile.

‘The power elite, that coterie of incredibly wealthy families and individuals that has organized the current Western monetary system, was successful back in the 1930s in creating a narrative that blamed the financial industry (Wall Street, etc.) for the crash and subsequent Depression. As books like the Creature From Jekyll Island have shown us, it was the formation of a modern central bank, in tandem with modern regulatory democracy that caused the monetary failures that led to the Great Depression.
It was inevitable that the elite would again try to shape the narrative of the modern money crisis, and in the largest sense, we think the Goldman lawsuit is part of the process. We are not necessarily implying, by the way, that the powers-that-be sat down in a conference room and decided to blame Goldman for everything. But just as the Western mercantilist money system itself eventually yields up chaos, so the system, with its farcical and dysfunctional regulatory apparatus, eventually yields up culprits. And it has been designed that way.’

Call it Iceland’s revenge, but it appears there is no more effective a way for a small country to get its own back on a larger one than to have an erupting volcano in its midst. No trade embargo, however effective, could compete with the economic devastation that Iceland’s Eyjafjallajökull volcano threatens to visit on Britain and much of Northern Europe.
How costly it ultimately proves depends, I guess, on the prevailing winds and the length of the eruption, but any prolonged shut down of UK airspace would certainly have profoundly disruptive economic consequences. Britain is one of the most open economies in the world. It depends vitally on people getting in and out.
The most ineffective tax, “income tax”. Tax consumption, not hard work, savings, and investment. Did ya’ll get raped again?? I would spent my money on betters things than war …
Why everybody thinks that volcanic ash brings only disaster to Britain? From a agricultural perspective it is a blessing from the heavens since it replenishes the British soil depleted through years of abuse. It may even be a sign that the Brits should shift their economy from money-laundering to agriculture.

Sovereign debt is not the biggest problem coming. How about munis ? Munis in the USA naturally, but also munis in Europe are legion. There is rumor that only in Italia that the interest swap resets dwarf even the greek problem or the italian government problem. More that 100 cities in deep shit just in Italia. What’s vicious in Europe is that nothing is transparent for regional or municipal governments. As for the United Slaves of America…….
Another BIG, no the biggest reason to not buy real estate; Exploding municpal taxes on about every service imaginable or unimaginable. Stupid politicians and crooked banksters. The couple made for hell.
A derivative upon a derivative upon a derivative. They should make names for these like the colonial racial categories the Spanish used in south america: mulatto, quadroon, octoroon, etc.
Mulattrivative, quadrivative, octorivative, etc… Then you have a small idea of how ridiculous your bet is.
Very very nice explanation of the crooked filth sold by Wall Street. Really appreciate your studied pace to explain in detail this stuff in the first half of the show. Really the best reporting on this in audio or video, and possibly as good as anything in print. You guys are detailed and understandable.
Nothing left to derivate. That’s why they are soo desparate to derivate carbon credits. Soon to be introduced. Volcanoe explosion and eartquake derivatives. It probably already exists. Ailines bleeding 200 million US per day because of Iceland volcano.
Was there a lot of puts on airlines being bought this friday ?
Well maybe this sun magnetic build up story holds ground? What’s said is that the sun has some sort of magnetic build up which will unload on some point creating huge solar flairs.
But I am very skeptical about that simply for the fact that nobody can tell and there’s no science about it so it’s all speculation. Solar flairs are nothing new it’s only that it’s mor in the news just like with the weather.
Suddenly people see disasters everywhere trough the abnormal emphasis of the media on weather and that’s because of the bogus CO2 – Global Warming claims.
Greed Is Christian Duty, Says Gilded Age Gospel: Lewis Lapham
Entering the Kingdom of God, as Jesus noted, has usually been tough for the rich. During America’s Gilded Age, however, some ministers saw the capitalist light and started preaching the gospel of wealth. DEFINITIVE ILLEGALITY OF SECURITISATION RECONFIRMED
IT IS ILLEGAL TO ASSIGN AN ASSET WITHOUT THE ASSET-OWNERS’S PRIOR WRITTEN PERMISSION. ALL ENGAGED IN THIS RACKETEERING KNOW IT.
In addition to being ILLEGAL UNDER U.S. LAW, securitisation is ILLEGAL UNDER COMMON LAW. If the prior written permission of the mortgagor (or other type of asset-holder) has not been obtained in writing, and in such a manner that the party IS FULLY AWARE THAT THEY HAVE GRANTED SUCH PERMISSION, the transfer and all subsequent transactions are ILLEGAL.
• Moreover, the legal axiom that ‘the money you make from exploitaing and abusing my money is my money’ likewise applies. PLUS:
• ANY CONTRACT ENTERED INTO FOR AN ILLEGAL PURPOSE IS NULL AND VOID.
Self-evidently, this study focuses on the US legal position. But the same basic principles apply in all Common Law Countries. So far, the talking heads in the so-called ‘Mainstream’ Media’ have chosen to ignore the fact that securitisation is ILLEGAL. Reality will soon be catching up with them, just as it is at last catching up with the likes of Goldman Sachs and other ‘protected’ enterprises.
The whole thing is a huge gambling joke. “Investment” means you are betting with a guy who wears a suit. “Gambling” means you bet on a game with your friends or neighbors. At least you can take into account the honesty of your friends and neighbors.
But these bastards have managed to denigrate gambling and praise investing. Remember the casinos exist for a reason, they provide you with free drinks and horrible food for a reason – the majority of people LOSE their money to the casino.
The market keeps going up! inews doesnt matter; its program to go up to some point… question is… where? 11,300? 11,500? 11,750? 12,000? when we all load up on shorts, get squeezed, dump the shorts and watch the markets rise again… is this a terminal effect that will drive this POS to 20,000?

What’s happened to our Sun? Last week, it produced one of the most power eruptive prominences ever seen.

P.S. Goldman Sachs are SCUM.
Bravo to Max and Stacy.
Very very nice explanation of the crooked filth sold by Wall Street. Really appreciate your studied pace to explain in detail this stuff in the first half of the show. Really the best reporting on this in audio or video, and possibly as good as anything in print. You guys are detailed and understandable.
A real service!!
@Creative Destruction
Not left to derivate.
@Creative Destruction
@Happy Dick

Adoring money is not a sin but a virtue, and the more you accumulate, the better you are. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601088&sid=ay5O0opAfOKI

@maxkeiser.com
as always cheers for the show!!!
Can you please add a warning label as some youngsters might get scared by this HORROR show.
How can we tax that freaking Volcano spewing out all of that
Co2. The pollution is going to cause weather change.
The market keeps going up! inews doesnt matter; its program to go up to some point… question is… where? 11,300? 11,500? 11,750? 12,000? when we all load up on shorts, get squeezed, dump the shorts and watch the markets rise again… is this a terminal effect that will drive this POS to 20,000?
reminds me of that movie ‘War Games…
“the only way to win, is not to play”
