Stacy Summary: Sorry for the multiple postings last night on the last PMF blog entry on Where’s Kenny Boy?; there was a bug in the syndication. Maybe it was a sign that Kenny Boy has moved on to the afterlife and he was haunting our feed?? Nevertheless, it did attract quite a handful of emails from people wanting to get involved in the project, so all was not lost!

Stacy Summary: This is a surprise. Was it the record bonuses? Or the Gods’ Work thing? Mind you, these are just civil charges to which they will merely pay a fine. Now, the question is, where is the Dept of Justice with the criminal charges? Or will the perp walks be rolled out the month before mid-term elections? And can JPMorgan be far behind? They were pushing Magnetar’s similarly constructed CDOs to institutional investors (ie your pension fund) far and wide.

In the second half of the show, Max talks to Birgitta Jonsdottir, a Member of Parliament in Iceland, about the Black Report into the country’s banking collapse.

Stacy Summary: The male CFTC staff that is. And a few of the women, no doubt. But, two things: 1.) Max gets mention in the article; 2.) the very fact that this article has been written suggests inside information and/or cosy relationships with their regulators . . . for how do they know what CFTC staff are thinking?

Stacy Summary: This is the special Alan Greenspan bubble addition in which Max takes out several props and we talk about the scandals of financial crisis “show trials” in America; Citigroup alleges they could not possibly have predicted the collapse of a very obvious housing bubble; and former Fed Chairman, Alan Greenspan, tells the show trial commissioners that the financial world is far too complex for mere mortals. In the second half of the show, Max talks to economist Dean Baker about Citigroup’s alleged profits
