  1. Creative Destruction

    @ Frans

I spent many months, read many books and studied many markets before I began to put together a rough draft of how the markets work. And I came to the same conclusion as you. Unfortunately it takes some time to understand and even those who may understand are still moved by biases based on prior history. We are at another pivot point in history. Most will not be prepared for what is to come.

  2. The idea of Max saving the world by educating people: It took myself some months of studying the internet and folowwing Max before I really got the big picture (I think) and put my money where my mouth is: in PM haha!
There will be a small group that is prepared and seeing what things are coming, but the vast majority can’t be saved.
I am trying hard to convince a retired bank employe, a quite intelligent guy, to convince to buy gold but till now I didn’t succeed, and soon it will be too late. (ofcourse he is brains are affected by working so long as a banker)

  3. This chic even though fluent in English but is somewhat brain dead. What kind of corruption is she referring to with respect to the people on the streets? What did they do? Worked hard their asses off? Oh, they did not pay enough taxes to the government crooks? Oh, they did not report all the swimming pools in the backyard. Oh, oh. Horrible crimes against humanity that is, wouldn’t you say? Sure! And now they have to bail out the country with their pensions and cuts to their salaries and the crooks are laughing all the way to the Virgin Islands. How about a middle finger for a start? How about they send to jail all the government crooks and confiscate their loot towards paying the debt? How about they arrest the GS mafia and take their possessions to pay the debt? How about the ruling elite lend in jail for the rest of their miserable lives for selling off their people? Maybe after that the Greek people will think of taking part in the bailout?

  4. @R Cain
    Danke!
Why do the Germans have to mop up everyone’s mess? They are not their mums!

  5. @ TJ
if not for the Germans, your Irish € would be worth 50¢, instead of 1.25 USD
and your cost of living would skyrocket

  6. @ R. Cain

    and Fuck the IRS!

  7. What a crap show, apart from Max’s attempt at sanity.

Nobody should pay any of these debts and I’m willing to bet they won’t in the long run. That’s when WW3 kicks off.

    @ R. Cain

    Fuck the Germans!

  8. Greek ‘austerity’ measures:

no, you can’t retire with a govt pension at 45
yes – to 40% of workforce engaged in paper shuffling in the civil service – you actually have to show up and pretend to work
yes, doctors and lawyers pay income tax in every modern economy
no, ‘socialism’ is a proven failure as an economic system (see USSR)
no, jacking VAT to 23% is absolutely not the solution, and illustrates the government’s total economic incompetence (stifle consumer demand)

#1 need is to increase tax compliance
hire some ex-IRS guys; these ‘revenuers’ know how to do it
this is precisely why the USA has always been so vigilant in collecting taxes
absent taxes = complete breakdown of government & economy
    = chaos, as Greece now

last = fire x% of civil service (never mind some ‘law’ that says this is not possible)
worst case put them on the dole sufficient to support themselves

no wonder the Germans have had it with this nonsense

  9. @DoC

A LUSP, ey? Well, that explains it.

  11. Who was that broad and what was the point of interviewing her?

  12. @Dork of Cork

    that’a a new acronym a L U S P

  13. The Dork of Cork

    @Virathus

I believe she is Irish not English – she has a Dublin 4 accent – we are cursed with such people unfortunately.
    Lethargic urban social primates.

  14. @White Hunter

    Really? Not against real money.

  15. “We just have to hope for the best.”

Great advice from a self-confessed ignoramus. How typically English of her – let’s all just bend over and bear it all with quiet desperation while we think of the Queen.

  16. Palantíri

Also, this “mysterious” drop in Procter & Gamble stocks from around $60 dollar to $40 dollar, a fall of 33 percent in matters of second’s, could it be a technical error? human mistake? deliberate takedown?

  17. white hunter

    dollar doing fine, thank you.

  18. Palantíri

I know this is about Greece but US stock drop today (Dow Jones down 4,83%, Nasdaq Composite down 4,59%, S&P down 4,59%) is that just a little nervous tick as Stacy have said we will see more of this year or is it a response to the British election and the turn it seem to take? or some panic do to Greece situation and the White House announcing they’ll monitor Greece’s debt situation closely today?

    ____
maxkeiser.com Book, looking forward to reading it when available, though what’s up with the art photo on the cover of the book? any particular reason for it or is it a substitute photo until a proper one is decided?

maxkeiser.com Listed under Restaurants: cabbages and condoms . . . what a peculiar name for a restaurant, assuming it means the same over there as here.

  19. Gold $1211

  27. @Dan: Someone hit the wrong button.

  28. Stacy, where the f2%$£!! is the MKR this week …is Max on holiday or something? I need info so I can feed my sister who is a uk newspaper editor the low down ( she gratefully recieves but often declines to print).

  29. so how does a market plunge 998 and then back up to a stable 332?

  30. Marc Authier

And monday United Kleptocrat will be asking help from the International Mafiosi Federation. Or is it Spain. I wonder ? United Snakes of America will be asking help from whom when it will be her turn ? Plante Mars ? God ?

  32. Is that plunge protection team then?

  33. Marc Authier

END THE IMF. Arreste the hyenas and put them behing the bars for 5,000 years.

  34. Max. We need a special edition of you on YouTube explaining what is going on. in the markets.

On another point I have heard that the June option expiration date for gold and silver is huge. That might be a second leg on the gold and silver upswing. I have heard that gold coin shops in Europe are running out of gold coins.

  35. Well said Max, ckickens will come home to roost in the UK in short time post election. It always amazes me how the average person conceptualises and rationalises these events. That poor woman is suffering from illusions. The same illusions that have spread like a virus in the Irish media. But reality will have it’s way like a falling piano.

  36. Is Anna K a reporter, a Greek citizen? Why is she being interviewed if she doesn’t understand the Greek economy? And what does she want people to do? Run to the bankers and empty their pockets?

  37. Oh No! It’s starting to drift again. Quick!! Print, Ben, PRINT!

  38. no websites are loading, they will probably close the market

  39. Henrique Oliveira

Looks like they just took down Zero Hedge after 1000 plunge in DJI. I keep getting “the URL is not valid and cannot be loaded”. Or is it traffic overload? WTF!!!

  40. A ‘V’ shaped recovery in a mere 10 minutes!

  41. Wow, DOW now up 600 from lows in just minutes… Hmmm

  42. taken from urban survival

  43. The only question is whether we ultimately bounce off the March 2009 low (6,627 on the Dow) or we go right to the 4,400 level

  44. Dow freefall ebbed for the moment…

    Better sell quick!

  45. Mike/Liverpool
