Those who can’t operate blog sites for Reuters.

Those who can develop innovative software which they hope will enable good but which alternately develops into another opportunity for incredulous speculation.

    Ahhh…life’s a pistol, ain’t it?

  2. max keiser

@moorehn @FelixSalmon follows the ‘Derivatives don’t kill economies, people do’ school of laissez-faire kleptocracy that @CantorFitzgerald likes.

The CantorExchange is a major battlefield to me.

Why? Because I can whip anybody who ventures into this space and I plan to do just that; not only because I have the moral authority, but because sometimes a scorched earth retaliation is the only one that makes sense.

    The stakes couldn’t be higher.

Since 2000 – when I decided to move to Europe as a protest against the Bush administration and the fraud that was growing exponentially on Wall St – and 2001 when the ownership of the company I started, HSX Holdings – was illegally transferred to Cantor Fitzgerald – who moved it to the top floor of the World Trade Center just a few short months before 9/11 – I have been readying for this battle.

We need to rid the world of financial terrorists.

    Who’s with me?

  4. frances snoot

Ahem. I support the cause 100% (if it includes the World Bank Group/G20 and the IMF and those nasty Development Banks in third world countries).

I know people in US don’t like soccer but still you should take a look at the scandals involving internet bets and the soccer teams recently. Keep in mind that theese betting sites are pulverized and small comparising with this new movies futures exchange, but still there were crimes involving teams of countries where gamble is forbiden. Like here in Brazil.

It reminds me of how in the music industry the chart spots were manipulated.

Here hit charts were manipulated by artists in effect buying in bulk records in order to gain a few places in the charts in order to stretch to that converted N01 Spot.

This manipulation was well known and reported on.

    Google introduces encrypted google search…

“Offering encrypted connections to Google.com means that users in China and other regimes that engage in significant surveillance will–assuming the connection is not blocked in the first place–be able to conduct searches without governments knowing the search terms.”

    I’m with you Max.

You have raised the truth about markets before America and the world. It takes time to turn big ships of state from heading into the rocks. You are getting there. The collective minds of countries are changing and you have been part of that change.

Now, take these bastards (CantorFizgerald) on! Poke a finger right in the eye of Mordor. There will be other fingers following your example.

My God. If you had stayed in that polluted environment on wallstreet you would have been one of the poor souls jumping out of the top of the WTC to escape burning to death. Hideous. My God, look at what these people have done. “The root of all evil, is the LOVE OF MONEY”

Count me in. I’m a 62 year old woman who knew NOTHING about finance and about Wall Street before I happened onto your programs. I’m learning and as I learn more and more I’m getting as angry as you are. Anger constructively turned into INDIGNATION and telling the TRUTH is the ticket.

Well aimed missle into the eye of Mordor! Hurrah!

Give me a match. Anyways Hollywood desserves what’s coming. USA desserves what’s coming. I am trying to remember when I went to the cinema. Make it burn ! Make it burn ! If it can bankrupt 20th Century FOX, I am all for it.

    @ Max

i’m a big fan of your work

but after recently engaging in an ad hominem discussion with your colleague – after simply responding to her request for ‘disclosure’ – i am further disappointed that you would resort to the same technique
providing no supporting evidence, to discredit a Reuters reporter

  16. Daniel S

Mr. Salmon sure did do a lot of research for a guy who pretends not to understand the difference between fireworks and cannons. Seems fishy to me.

  17. Daniel S

@ Fiatmentalist, the line you quoted “if you don’t play in the market, no harm can befall you.” reminds me of the lines “if you’ve got nothing to hide you’ve got nothing to worry about” in regards to illegal spying. As if no government or corporation ever uses information to prey upon people. And the line “if you don’t mess with them they won’t mess with you” in regards to the mafia. As if paying a hidden tax to violent criminals is a good thing, and people who start businesses ask to be harassed, threatened and have property damaged or stolen if not their very lives taken.

  18. R. Cain

    not simply ad hominem argument

    but unsubstantiated ad hominem argument

    some defense of position

  19. ronron

ok max. it’s you battle to fund. i will make one free movie. 9 minutes in front of the stratford theatre with pro actors. ;-)

    snoot can carry the flag

I get to man the wheel on the deck, ronron. You carry the flag.

  21. Daniel S

I have to admit, I don’t understand this. To me the destruction of Hollywood seems a good thing.

  22. ronron

@Snoot. huh. i’ll be eating berries and cookies. some one has to carry it for some reason. let me think. i’ll come up with a plan.

I used to think that if the founding fathers could see USA now with it’s murder rate they would think that the right to bare arms was a terrible idea but I think they maybe foresaw such a time when the American people would need thier guns perhaps that time is drawing near I know there’s a lot of nutjobs who love they’re guns more than they’re women but there are some who own gun and some that should own guns who really understand the 2nd Amendment what other country has it in it’s constitution that it’s citizens have a right to bare arms against it’s government if it feels it’s fucking things up oneday hopefully soon you americans will realise that your country has been hyjacked we know that we over the water have been too but we haven’t got the right to bare arms against our government you see

Imho in our current age of lethal irresponsibility the only remedy is the threat of execution…The risk of death makes people more serious.

Obama should decree he will shoot an oil CEO every day the spill is ongoing, and by speeding up the solution possibly save thousands of future hydrocabon related cancer victims..

He could decree he will shoot one pharmaceutical CEO every week the number of medicine related deaths and general mortality does not drop and save millions of lives and improve their quality.

He could decree shooting a Wallstreet CEO for every week money velocity did not rise or liabilities did not drop in the real economy. For every 200 billion of unreported debt surfacing one life. How many suicides, and unnecesary deaths would that save?

You can use pain to teach if the pupil is demonstrably disloyal…and ‘soft doctors create festering wounds’ as the Dutch say..

  26. Bronxy

I like that new blond presenter on Keiser Report, way better than that dark haired one.

    @Future Sailors

Very different picture this evening from this morning in the futures market after the close:

    http://quotes.ino.com/analysis/extremes/futures

Fully expecting a decline in short term treasuries, but the discount rate is up some while the 3mo is down in yield. Still the gold price rallied, so tomorrow is another day. I would surmise that we’ll see treasuries rallying again while commodities sell off.

Had time to watch some CNBC yesterday and found that they were flogging sovereigns and complaining about gold. Panels of talking heads getting larger.

  28. frances snoot

    @Dedo:
Maybe y’all boyscouts better just rake leaves. Looks like carrying flags means y’all will get your heads blown off: not to mention bothering innocent people in their own homes.

Yo dig it.. Tony the Tuna and Sammy the Shrimp say Felix the Salmon is full of pin worms and sea lice. No good for sushi. No good for nothin’.

Bad facelift?? Did that sucker say ‘bad facelift’?? Such a schmuck should avoid posting his own picture on his website. Hee hee hee. Oh yeah.

This article indicates that Goldman Sachs is getting a cut of some Palm Beach traffic fines.

Perhaps they can make a movie where Goldie the super banker smites the evil doer who fails to come to a full stop at the light. Each episode could end with the bank making a few shekels while doing god’s work?

If Goldman takes over the movie exchange perhaps they can buy an Oscar for Goldie the hard but fair wise-cracking banker.

Oh well here comes the ward nurse with my meds so goodnight all.

    Jim Rickards sayz…

New estimate says gold could go to $6,300/oz http://bit.ly/9BBKfM. No, it’s not from GATA – it’s from WSJ

Thank you all for kind words and RT’s on my Keiser Report interview

I love blogs but somehow my comments about Greece controlling “sea lanes” widely reported as Greece controlling “ceilings”.

FYI Joe Weeniethal, I mean Weisenthal over at Business Insider was in his usual mad at the world mood, so he decided to criticize our Max regarding the risk Max believes box office futures would create. I have been listening to Max for six months now and Joe about three months. From day one Max has not only made sense in his arguments but exudes a sense of integrity that seems to shape his beliefs. Conversely, Joe is capable of excellent reasoning but overall his thinking is emotionally immature and as a result his deep seated anger often seems misplaced as in this case. This makes him seem unsafe as a person to look to for direction. I believe most individuals who are listening to the Max’s,Tyler D’s and others are looking for at least some direction in these crazy times. Thank you Max and Stacy for your efforts to guide, direct and teach. You are awesome!

  33. Marc Authier

Gold 6,300$. Why not ? I would start looking at agricultural commodities now, food producers, water and energy. And the hell with the rest ! Try eating 0% US treasury bonds or greek bonds ? :) in the morning. Hey I am sure the Greeks that bought olive oil are making more money than keeping their liquidities at a bankrupt bank. And you can eat it with a wonderful salad.

  34. henk

so the last industry in the Us is destroyed too…..

    Thank god for filmhouse movies…

    @Mother Earth
Don’t forget who sold the nukes to Kim. DONALD RUMSFELD.
The militaro-industrial complex monster wants some blood and cookies from the Unites Slaves Taxpayers. How come nobody in the USA asks the arrest of Donald Rumsfeld for collaborating and selling arms of mass destruction to the “Axis of Evil”. The “Axis of Evil” is in Washington, It’s called THE PENTAGON.

  36. Marc Authier

    @Mother Earth
I estimate that the bloody cookie monster at the Pentagon needs at least to book orders for the buddies of at least 2 trillion to 3 trillion cookies.
1 trillion cookies for North Korea and another 1 to 2 trillion cookies for Iran. Must feed the bloody cookie monster. Must not forget Mother Earth, we have a 100 year war going on.

  37. Mini US

Max’s take on the Hollywood exchange is just like Carbon Trading.
Nothing to do with saving the planet, just another derivatives market open for abuse.
    See Europe.

  38. Mini US

This isn’t about the destruction of Hollywood.
    Hollywood Shmollywood.
Its about the same fuckers manipulating another market to gain an advantage over the rest and cause destruction along the way for no other purpose than sick, greedy fun.
It is unproductive to the economy or the betterment of the world and actually damages real lives (as opposed to retarded trader lives).
Could be Hollywood or whatever YOUR profession is. They don’t care what sector they are destroying, its just a huge freakin game to these pricks.

  39. Sam

Wow, Stacey’s looking hot at the end there! I wanna kiss you. Max, I ‘m so sorry about the Cantor exchange thing, beating yourself up about it is not going to help. You are still an awesome person and some of us out here get that. Thanks for being you.

I do not think Hollywood is a real industry. They do not produce anything of real value. Much of their product is simply garbage. So I would not mind if something happened to kill the Hollywood “industry.” However I would prefer that the same only Wall Street type gangsters were not the killers in this instance. Americans might do the deed by stop purchasing their “product” because they are becoming too poor to afford it.

I personally find talking about the latest blockbuster offensive when more and more of my fellow Americans are living in tent cities.

“The fact is that there’s really nothing to be scared of at all: if you don’t play in the market, no harm can befall you.”

that kind of ridiculous comment just shows how little of what brainpower felix salmon has is devoted to considering ordinary, non-trading workers.
