[KR45] Goldman Sachs, Undeclared Enemy of the State

Stacy Summary: We look at the scandals of naked short selling, supplementary liquidity providers and the conspiracy of banks. And we also mention the financial terrorist playing cards. In the second half of the show, Max interviews Jim Rickards about naked short selling and overwhelming the specialist system, Wall Street banks undermining Greece and Goldman Sachs as an undeclared national enemy. (**UPDATE** – Below is a jibber jabber thread for the latest market carnage).

  1. the irony is the reported radicalization of Islam vs saligia which is what Wall Street banks embrace and has trickled down, arguably, into the whole of American culture.

and sticking with the religious theme… Wall Street reestablishing a standard of ethics would be its only redemption.

Does DC have the courage to administer this tough love?

    Any bets? ;)

  2. It is not JUST greed. It is willful destruction.

“We Jews, the destroyers, will remain the destroyers forever. Nothing the Gentiles do will meet our needs, our demands.
We need a World of our own.”
Maurice Samuel who wrote a book called “The Gentiles.”

Anybody who really wants to understand what is happening to our World – OUR World – needs to read “The Controversy of Zion.” by Douglas Reed. It is available on line and it is the information and knowledge about how we come to be in this situation – and the only possibility for peace and stability ever again. The Jews must rejoin the World of Humanity.

Also read “The Babylonian Woe.” by David Astle. It is about usury and how usury began. He says that if it is not stopped soon it will destroy the World – literally.

They may be out of the system, but they are where the system came from…
Economists like Ricardo, Malthus, Hicks, Sraffa et al. may be LONG dead, but their ideas are still shoveled down the throats of students today (especially for MBAs… poor bastards)
I suppose Paul Samuelson is one of the biggest influences, though (who died at 94 back in December), but he wasn’t technically a Neo-Classicist, I don’t think…
However, HE was definitely a big part in the SYNTHESIS of Keynes and Neo-Classical theories…

So, I guess what I’m trying to do is figure out the “trend” of economic thought, since that may give some clue as to where it is heading…
    Hence the Keynes-Minsky-Keen line…

The Friedman is just out of curiosity, since I keep seeing people bitching about him, but I have no real idea of where he’s coming from …

Bhagavad Gita is contained within the Epic Poem “Mahabharata” This is what it says:-
Ancient Nuclear War? There is evidence that the Rama empire (now India) was devastated by nuclear war. The Indus valley is now the Thar desert, and the site of the radioactive ash found west of Jodhpur is around there. Consider these verses from the ancient (6500 BC at the latest) Mahabharata: …a single projectile Charged with all the power of the Universe. An incandescent column of smoke and flame As bright as the thousand suns Rose in all its splendour… a perpendicular explosion with its billowing smoke clouds… …the cloud of smoke rising after its first explosion formed into expanding round circles like the opening of giant parasols… ..it was an unknown weapon, An iron thunderbolt, A gigantic messenger of death, Which reduced to ashes The entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas. …The corpses were so burned As to be unrecognisable. The hair and nails fell out; Pottery broke without apparent cause, And the birds turned white. After a few hours All foodstuffs were infected… …to escape from this fire The soldiers threw themselves in streams To wash themselves and their equipment.

  7. Alastair Carnegie

Srtla Prabhupada writes of Gita Ch 16 verse 9, :- “Indirectly, this verse anticipates the invention of nuclear weapons, of which the whole world is today very proud. At any moment war may take place, and these atomic weapons may create havoc. Such things are created solely for the destruction of the world, and this is indicated here. Due to godlessness, such weapons are invented in human society; they are not meant for the peace and prosperity of the world.” Actually we now know they deployed nuclear weapons at that terrible battle. The Vedas describe the blinging flash, the great mushroom cloud, the screaming elephants, the sickening fallout, a cloud of ash that descended and made peoples hair drop off in clumps….They even name one of the pilots who dropped the bomb. ‘Gurkha’ was his name. Check it out!

Dow 5,000. Jeff Miller, David Hefty and David Tice say it could happen. Remember we had huge rallies in the 30′s before the market ended up going down 90% from the all time high at that time. Today that would be Dow 1,400. We could by 2015 she the default of the US, UK, Italy, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Portugal and maybe even France and Belgium. Except for Spain every nation above with have a debt to GDP of over 100% within 5 years. Belgium will be at 100% exactly and France at nearly 100% by 2015.

  13. @Snoots

I’m still on Minsky… I don’t want to get into Keynes until I read his interpretation (also, I have Friedman going at the same time)
So… I have no direct opinion on Keynes YET… but from what Minsky has been telling me, the Neo-Classical Keynesian hybrids have REALLY gone astray…
They cherry-picked his theory, assuming they could “stabilize” the markets in equilibrium, not realizing that Keynes never presumed the markets to be manageable in THAT regard…

As for Friedman… hmmm… He sets his theory into contradiction almost from the get go… On the one hand, he states that a free market does not of course eliminate the need for a government… as a forum for determining the “rules of the game” and as an umpire to …enforce the rules, but then he goes on to imply that the “free-market” can manage society…
Although, I’m early on in that one, too…
Perhaps his stance will be clarified later…

Did you get a chance to skim through those slides? Unless I’m misinterpreting things in my haste, I’m left with a suggestion (among several) that funding for infrastructure projects would be on a cost-sharing basis, then actual toxic waste paper would be bought up and repackaged by EU banks with Aaa credit ratings. That presentation was from a few months ago.

    MAX: Its counterfeiting

RICKARDS : one way to look at it

    MAX: explains counterfeiting

RICKARDS : im a lawyer, oh and by the way GS dont care about shit

state-actors non-state-actors, language used in such a way that excludes any government agency of involvement, must have been a fun state meeting he went to, protect the centre thinking.

Look for the Vatican to use this European crisis to reassert themselves back into the affairs of nations like Italy, Spain and Portugal. Remember the church helped oust the Prodi Government in Italy a few years back. The Vatican may be down but they been around for nearly 2,000 years.

    Here’s the exhaustive future:

    http://www.un.org/millennium/declaration/ares552e.htm

    note:

    #9
To strengthen respect for the rule of law in international as in national affairs and, in particular, to ensure compliance by Member States with the decisions of the International Court of Justice, in compliance with the Charter of the United Nations, in cases to which they are parties…

To ensure the implementation, by States Parties, of treaties in areas such as arms control and disarmament and of international humanitarian law and human rights law, and call upon all States to consider signing and ratifying the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

    #IV
We reaffirm our support for the principles of sustainable development, including those set out in Agenda 21, agreed upon at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development.

    #VIII
    • To strengthen the International Court of Justice, in order to ensure justice and the rule of law in international affairs…
To ensure greater policy coherence and better cooperation between the United Nations, its agencies, the Bretton Woods Institutions and the World Trade Organization, as well as other multilateral bodies, with a view to achieving a fully coordinated approach to the problems of peace and development.

    How to ensure success?
    #III
“We are committed to an open, equitable, rule-based, predictable and non-discriminatory multilateral trading and financial system.”

Our ‘governments’ that Rickards insists are being harrassed into non-existence by banks signed this manifesto delivering their sovereign agency into the hands of the World Bank and the Bretton Woods web of regional development banks and international banking institutions, central banks/ECB/EU.

You can say da headache is not good. But it is good if you drink 20 beers a day. So, short selling is OK, what is not OK? What government is doing?
Drinking to mach beers: printing money.

Why Merkel dont stop printing EURO and make those speculator loose money? “Naked short sell”? It is the same. Expose them (naked) and send to jail!

  67. Internet was down in my neighborhood this morning. That meant no access to my sites, no new info. It is what a lobotomy must feel like (or it was the wine yesterday, not sure). It seems evident one way to crash the economy is to somehow stop the internet from working. It has been done by attacking the name servers, but a simple wirecutter might be all it takes to throw the world back into the dark ages…With IP numbers and bandwith running out quickly one might want to think of contingency plans..

    Max,

I’m so tired of lawyer think. These are the people running Washington, lawyers. At a time when technology drives the world. Who do we have in the driver seat? Lawyers. How many engineers and scientist do you see crafting legislation in Washington. Counterfeiting money is not the only use of the word to counterfeit. This guy is to busy playing politics in his media exposure to be completely credible.

“We will promote these values above all by living them — through our fidelity to the rule of law and our Constitution, even when it’s hard; and through our commitment to forever pursue a more perfect union,” he said.”

Rule of law AND the Constitution?

Where does ‘rule of law’ derive authority? Why does Obama declare it before the Constitution?

If the rule of law is in conflict with the constitution, which supercedes?

“”The international order we seek is one that can resolve the challenges of our times,” he said in prepared remarks. “Countering violent extremism and insurgency; stopping the spread of nuclear weapons and securing nuclear materials; combating a changing climate and sustaining global growth; helping countries feed themselves and care for their sick; preventing conflict and healing its wounds.”"

(Guess the constitution gets chucked for international treaties and trade codes…shucks)

“This is an historic moment. We have in this past year made great progress in ending the long era of conflict and cold war. We have before us the opportunity to forge for ourselves and for future generations a new world order — a world where the rule of law, not the law of the jungle, governs the conduct of nations. When we are successful — and we will be — we have a real chance at this new world order, an order in which a credible United Nations can use its peacekeeping role to fulfill the promise and vision of the U.N.’s founders.”

    hahahaha

    @ Majestic, thanks.

    @ Y’all

Has anyone been keeping up with Greek collateral that may be at risk? Anything strategic? The ports and fleet and control of shipping lanes have been mentioned in various sources. How about pipelines?

Could some of you better minds please flip though these slides and let us know what you think? This presentation came up on a google search on “greece pipeline”. There is a lot to chew on here.

  99. @ Stacy

I think you should get John Pilger to be the film maker for the PMF ‘Jubilee’ project which I mentioned earlier. This article is the best thing I’ve read on Greece.

Also watch his film The Takeover of South America to see what a great film maker he is.

Governments stand up to banks? No, G20 banks stand up to banks!

We are seeing the joists, but one side is supported by our labour (tax) and currency (trade profit). One side has a vested interest in ‘cutting off the fat tail’ to consolidate profit/control within the context of privileged liquidity.

This is the beginning of apartheid.

  102. @ Sherri

I agree. Certainly not the most scintillating guest, but definitely presented a worthwhile perspective on a few issues and perspectives. (The point of interviewing other thinkers on TV; no?)

Maybe if the thread had been tagged “Goldman Sachs, a Bunch of Racists Investment Bankers” instead of “Goldman Sachs, Undeclared Enemy of the State” the negative connotation would have been better absorbed.

    @ ronron

Dude! Rickards named GS as a nonstate threat to society. He called them terrorists whose destructive, destabilizing acts were the equivalent of what it would have taken to start a world war if committed in the physical arena.

Very strong emphasis on short term treasuries here.

Gold should be firm today, but the eventual follow up should be a strong rally.
