Flotilla Jibber Jabber [UPDATED]

Stacy Summary: I’ve been asked by a user of the site to remain silent on Israeli crimes for fear of dragging out the usual cast of ignorant, neanderthal nazis (half of whom I know are paid to be so). I believe it is exactly this silence for fear of the neanderthals (faux and real), however, that has resulted in this shocking impunity. So, please note, that ignorant f*%ks and provocateurs will be banned forever from commenting on this site. If you want freedom to speak your ignorance freely, then go create your own site where you can drag your knuckles freely. For others, this is a jibber jabber thread and a place to post links to news items as and when new information emerges about what has happened with this flotilla in international waters off Gaza. **UPDATE**Did Twitter censor the #flotilla hashtag following the Israel attack? **UPDATE**Nato ally, Turkey, threatens action ** UPDATE ** Turkey tries to invoke mutual defense doctrine, according to Faisal Islam Mutual defense doctrine here, Articles 5 & 6.1

  1. Off topic jibber jabber — Goldman Sachs comes out for SDR

:Big banks too see the rgument strengthening. “Providing more SDR assets would spread out the gains from seigniorage more broadly and also reduce the structural risks associated with requiring the US to pump out more dollar assets for the still-growing stock of overall reserves,” Goldman Sachs said last week.:

Who the hell are you to call me “friend”?? I do not have a stupid firend like you. My nickname indicates poeple like you who are anti-understanding.

  7. @ frances,

I was being bombastic to draw your ire: it is a relatively easy assignment when anyone disagrees with your personal line of perspective. You throw napalm on discussions through your ad hominen attacks on other people: declaring the two p’s (propaganda and paranoid) as especial traits in those you disagree with.

One could actually find it extremely hard to find a news outlet (other than this one) in which open dialogue is encouraged and in which the vested interests of the IMF are not at the forefront.

Real intelligence is marked by humility, Harry. I made the mistake of assigning the trait of intelligence to you once, but your lack of humility more than erases any residual spark of whit.

I thought you were just cobbling together a bunch of propaganda sources (RFE, INN, WorldBank blog) to make a series of vague insinuations unsupported by any evidence. Now they’re napalmed to a crisp, you’re suggesting a different rationale for them.

If I see any worthwhile political or economic content, I do try to respond to that. If I just see a string of unsubstantiated propaganda points, as Ingrid produced, or incoherent insinuations based on your suspicions, I point that out. If I have the time or inclination I’ll rip it to shreds too, pointing out why it’s propaganda or paranoid rambling.

It should be quite easy to respond to that line of argument, if the points can be substantiated with fact. If not, then get better debating points, come up with more coherent politics or economics.

How does one determine if a news outlet has “the vested interests of the IMF … at the forefront”? The IMF tends to concern itself with international finance and more than media, it’s a vehicle for exercising the influence of it’s leading member states.

Thanks for the personal growth opportunity, try to base it on better source material next time.

  8. Well done Stacy! Linking to Juan Cole! You’re obviously on the right side of this issue. I think you guys just separated yourself from the fools at Zero Hedge. I once read them daily. Now, because of their reaction to this event, I am questioning their judgment on EVERYTHING.

Imagine being ZH and suddenly running Likud arguments up the flagpole. It was jarring. It changed everything for me. Now, I don’t trust their ability to discern and use critical thinking for their OTHER articles.

I wish you had an easier comment forum, I think you’d get a lot more business! I know a lot of people are done with ZH after this crack in their “red pill, blue pill” theme.

im sorry for your deep fear. Having gone through the horrors of such etreme abuse any nation would be very scared. sometimes fear creates an overreaction
    —————

It has nothing to do with overreaction. It is a legitimate response to the illegitimate behavior. Sanctions against Gaza is legal and internationally approved. The attempt of break the international law is a crime and must be punished.

Since the people on the ship did not comply with the order and attacked Israeli military with knifes and metal pipes ( 4 other ships complied without resistance), opening fire is an action of self defense.

So stop PMSing people, just use your brain to analyze the situation.

im sorry for your deep fear. Having gone through the horrors of such etreme abuse any nation would be very scared. sometimes fear creates an overreaction, this seems to be the case for these young soldiers. i noticed the typing error and you said ‘young worriers’ instead of ‘warriors’.To scare the ordinary people of Isreal any further woul be a mistake leading to perhaps unthinkable consequences.
Many, many people in today’s world have no wish to harm you or your brothers and sisters. Please be careful to not allow anxiety to create an overreaction.

  15. Seosamh OGallunai

Dont worry aura, hold your nerve. As evidenced in quite a lot of these posts there is a huge and understandable fear among ordinary israeli citizens which gives rise to these overreactions. By mistake i’m sure, i received an email from a shadow labour minister about this flotilla last friday here in ireland. it was addressed to someone else but ended up in my account. there is nothing sinister in this. the names involved are just well known human rights people, whose mission is food and medicine to many parts of the world. also watching elections as observers. This is just an overreaction by israeli forces and general media like to hype tings up so we get scared and keep watching the news. (back to strong emotion). that said political and fiscal forces like to piggyback on to these happenings for their own ends in an opportunistic manner.
E.g. in January 1972 a human rights march in the Bogside in Derry was gunned down, people were killed and injured by British troops who were teenagers and frightened and overreacted. Political establishment and extremists alike hijacked this event and the bloodshed went on for 25 years. see it for what it ids and watch for fiscal austerities and other stuff of that ilk to be implemented while our emotions are distracting us on this matter.

  16. The thing that puzzles me about this is that Israel has being murdering innocent Palestinians and whoever else they want with impunity since the state was formed – its business as usual for them. That’s why I am at a loss now as to this hue and cry, which is ten decades overdue. For example, Max has been outing the Zionists for years along with countless others, yet suddenly this incident, that quite frankly seems staged, proves to be the nail that breaks the camel’s back. The IDF is even contributing to their own condemnation by releasing IDF footage of the night time raid. They don’t have a good relationship with Barry Obama, that’s for sure, and the Zionists have their nuclear subs off the coast of Iran. This may simply be a staged event to allow certain world powers to distance themselves from Israel in advance of an IDF attack on Iran, giving the west plausible deniability. Or maybe the world knows Israel plans to attack Iran and just want to distance themselves from that attack and is using this incident to do it. Something doesn’t add up. Lebanon got bombed to smithereens by Israel and the outcry wasn’t nearly as intense as with this incident. Something is rotten in Denmark. This may be a precursor to a must nastier scenario on the horizon. Things are becoming totally unglued now in the world to such a degree that its really getting frightening.

  17. Geophysics

    Nobody, hi, friend!

I like your nick name. You identified yourself You are just pure NOBODY, NOTHING, NONE!

  18. Seosamh OGallunai

Strong emotions are not terribly reliable. they seem to cause the actions that bring asbout much of the suffering in our fiscal, geopolitical world. I speak from the exprience of living through 25 years of tit for tat violence in N Ireland. ther were and are genuine concers but fear, anxiety and revenge got replaced by a weariness and sickness with bloody war by the orinary people of all communities. Even the IRA COs and members whom i worked with as a music teacher in Portlaoise Prison were very tired. After the ceasefire and the Good Friday agreement such a weight lifted off us all. We honestly never thought we’d see the day. Getting past the strong emotion and meeting the real concerns of the people for equal opportunity, human respect was key. Now we realise we are under the thumb of bankers and an elite-so what was all the bereavement for? now i am unafraid, everthing is crumbling and i think it’s a good thing.Something more compassionate will arise.
PS Lay off Stacy! Without her Max’s show would never air and i know he’d be the first to admit it.Extremist hatred of any kind serves as a dense ashcloud obfuscating the truth.

Is Turkey running arms to Hamas? Is Turkey balking on the Nabucco deal with EU?

    Well, Harry?

It’s rather unlikely, and the article you linked offers no support for the idea. Are you suggesting that Turkey is running arms to Hamas? Or just throwing the idea out there as a smear by implication? Given the maritime theme, nail your colours to the mast.

If we ask questions concerning arms deals or resource wars are we to be implicated in ‘propaganda’? Well, Harry?

Anyone knows that Radio Free Euriope/Radio Liberty is a propaganda organ of the United States.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Free_Europe/Radio_Liberty

Again, your link offers no evidence to support the implied accusation in your questions. It’s just about Merkel visiting Turkey and Turkey’s attitude towards the EU. I’d already mentioned that issue earlier in the thread.

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/136963

The run to Gaza was not an event left to happenstance.

    You know who ‘israelnationalnews’ are?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arutz_Sheva

Arutz Sheva (Channel Seven) is an Israeli media network identifying with Religious Zionism. … Based in Judea and Samaria (the West Bank), Arutz Sheva is seen as the voice of the Israeli settlement movement.[2]

Why is the World Bank suddenly concerned with Yemen and Al-Qaeda?

    http://blogs.worldbank.org/conflict/the-yemen-challenge

Who are the good guys, Harry? Can you sift through the news for all of us and throw the propaganda chaff out?

I’d like to know for sure who the good guys and the bad guys are: I mean other than Goldman Sachs and Al-Qaeda (they’re the baddies, right)

    Grow up.

The World Bank is suddenly interested in Yemen as a proxy for US policy in the region, because, as their blog says ”We are now paying more attention to Yemen, because the Al Qaeda-inspired failed airliner bombing in the United States on December 24 originated, at least in part, there.”

Why are you so sensitive on the subject of propaganda frances? Why do you suck it up by search engine and regurgitate it here uncritically? More often than not it’s still completely unrelated to your paranoid insinuations.

It’s funny really, because all you’ve linked to is propaganda organs of the US, the Zionist settler movement and the World Bank. You seem to have a taste for it.

    http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Central_Asia/KK06Ag01.html

Has someone left you alone in front of a search engine? Try to read and absorb at least some of what it turns up before you spam the results in posts here. Of course I’m aware of the pipeline diplomacy across Eurasia, and Turkeys pivotal place in that. What are you suggesting is the link between the Nabucco pipeline and this Isreali attack on the Turkish led flotilla aiming to break the Gaza blockade? Are you linking the pipeline to this event, or just insinuating some link and casting suspicion based upon the insinuation?

  24. Cynicism intended, why was this operation run by charity amateurs? Couldn’t have Turkey employed some pros like Somali pirates? Pay them living wages and let them run supplies in speedboats from a mother ship in international waters to Gaza? Why pit civis against IDF? It beggars belief!

  30. I simi-expect that there will be more TV series like what is mentioned below, but not just Turkey but also most of North Africa and the Gulf States …

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXVNVV2Mxss

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman summoned the Turkish ambassador to Israel in protest over a new television drama airing in Turkey that depicts Israel Defense Forces soldiers as brutal murderers. Lieberman instructed staff at the Foreign Ministry to protest in the face of their Turkish counterparts. He stressed that airing this type of show reflects a grave level of incitement – and with government approval.

The drama’s Web site says it “brings to life the bleeding wound of Palestine. The show depicts all sides of the generations-long tragedy… This season focuses on the women and children and the Palestinian story, as well as the notion that the ultimate solution is love, compassion and world peace.”

  31. ======
Historically, the flotilla row is at best a grain of sand on 90 Kilometre Beach … but it makes a good argument that Mossad runs the nation seem plausible.
    ======

Interesting actual history, Mossad’s predecessor entity was in part responsible for for founding the modern state … this is no Hudson’s Bay Company (or New Zealand Company)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mossad

    Prior to Israel’s formation

The “Mossad Le’aliyah Bet” was a small, unorthodox Zionist organization whose mission in 1938 was to bring Jews to the British mandate of Palestine. This was done to subvert the British quotas on Jewish immigration. The Mossad’s modes of operation, its ideology, and politics resulted in the creation of the intelligence agency for the Israeli government once it was established in 1948. The agency consisted of several of the existing members who had worked to establish Israel as a Jewish state.

    Organizational odds and sods

The Mossad does not use military ranks, although most of its staff have served in the Israel Defense Forces as part of Israel’s compulsory draft system, and many of them are officers. It is assumed to consist of eight different departments.

And, why Belgians and Canadians have no reason to help …

The Mossad is alleged to be responsible for the assassination of Canadian engineer and ballistics expert Gerald Bull outside his Brussels apartment March 22, 1990. He was shot multiple times in the head outside his apartment. Bull was at the time working for Iraq on the Project Babylon supergun.

  32. ….Apparently the slingshots were made in Iranian nuclear facilities…

  33. I have to say that I wanted to stay away from this thread. You know, 10-ffot barge pole stuff.

Which is actually a shame. Why should I feel compelled to abstain from a contribution because I know that passions will run hot on this topic, as those with an “everything my country does is good” meets the “Zionists hate everyone who’s not them” crowd, with of course natural rational comments an analysis somehow lost somewhere in the ensuring melee in-between.

The fact is that the first casualty of war seems to be truth.

This is probably because of a number of factors (people generally don’t like to go to war [though there's always a proportion who welcome it to prove how much better they are than other peoples'], that the decision makers feel war’s strategically necessary, that “war is a racket”, etc. etc.)

So the fact is that we can’t see or know all the parameters of this situation at this point in time. People point out that the flotilla was in international waters, others that the fleet was itself provocative, that ‘peace activists’ were seen attacking commandos, or that Commandos may have fired first before boarding ( http://rawstory.com/rs/2010/0531/raw-video-reporter-claims-israelis-fired-activists-boarding-ship/ this link also claims that communications from the ship were attempted to be jammed, hmm, I wonder why?).

I don’t know which side is telling the truth. I don’t even know if there *is* a right side. Sometimes ethics and justice fall into that grey area where decisions are complex and difficult. But it certainly will attempt to be manipulated by most sides for advantage.

But racism and rabid nationalism/religious fervor is ugly when it comes from any side. It also feeds hatred from your foe.

I just don’t understand why we all just can’t try to get along.
Why must we have to have someone to hate??
Seriously, it saddens me; not just the event, the whole thing.

  34. hmm, the jews sure did learn valuable lessons from their german captors didnt they? building walls(warsaw ghetto); indiscriminate killings(again the warsaw ghetto, and others…); starving the arabs in gaza(sigh, again the warsaw ghetto…etc). i am sick of the desire of those in power to keep it regardless of the cost.

  41. Israel is a state.

    It is not a religion.

    It is not a people.

    It is only a state.

And a horrid one at that.

  42. These Israelis are at least a hope, they need support

A message from within – signed by Israeli citizens

    Dear all,

This is an important call by Israeli academics against the war, which I hope you can read and distribute widely.

In support of the Palestinian human rights community call for international action. A call from within – signed by Israeli citizens

As if the occupation was not enough, the brutal ongoing repression of the Palestinian population, the construction of settlements and the siege of
Gaza- now comes the bombardment of the civilian population: men, women,
old folks and children. Hundreds of dead, hundreds of injured, overwhelmed hospitals, and the central medicine depot of Gaza bombed.

The ship Dignity of the Free Gaza movement which brought emergency
medical supplies and a number of physicians was also attacked. Israel has returned to openly committing war crimes, worse than what we have seen in a long time.

Israeli media do not expose their viewers to the horrors and to the voices of severe criticism of these crimes. The story told is uniform. Israeli dissidents are denounced as traitors. Public opinion including that of the Zionist left supports the Israeli policy uncritically and without reservation.

Israel’s destructive criminal policy will not cease without a massive
intervention by the international community. However, except for some rather weak official condemnation, the international community is reluctant to intervene,. The United States openly supports the Israeli violence and Europe, although voicing some condemnation, is unwilling to seriously consider withdrawing the “gift” it handed Israel by upgrading its relations with the European Union.

In the past the world knew how to fight criminal policies. The boycott on South Africa was effective, but Israel is handled with kid gloves: its trade relations are flourishing, academic and cultural cooperation continue and intensify with diplomatic support.

This international backing must stop. That is the only way to stop the insatiable Israeli violence. We are calling on the world to stop Israeli violence and not allow the continuation of the brutal occupation. We call on the world to Condemn and not become an accomplice in Israel’s crimes.

In light of the above, we call on the world to implement the call by Palestinian human rights organizations which urges:

    * The UN Security Council to call an emergency session and adopt concrete measures, including the imposition of sanctions, in order to ensure Israel’s fulfilment of its obligations under international humanitarian law.
    * The High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions to fulfil their obligation under common Article 1 to ensure respect for the provisions of the Conventions, taking appropriate measures to compel Israel to abide by its obligations under international humanitarian law, in particular placing pivotal importance on the respect and protection of civilians from the effects of the hostilities.
    * The High Contracting Parties to fulfil their legal obligation under Article
146 of the Fourth Geneva Convention to prosecute those responsible for grave breaches of the Convention.
    * EU institutions and member states to make effective use of the European Union Guidelines on promoting compliance with international humanitarian law (2005/C 327/04) to ensure Israel complies with international humanitarian law under paragraph 16 (b), (c) and (d) of these guidelines, including the adoption of immediate restrictive measures and sanctions, as well as cessation of all upgrade dialogue with Israel.

    Pathetic and disgusting!

Arabs are trying to wipe off the Israel, Hamas are killing our people everyday. We the jews suffered how long, anti-semite blah blah blah…

Grow up and look who are the real anti-semites.it’s not nazis this time but Israeli govt. They are driving the jews around the world into another dangerous corner. They is an old jewish saying that If there are two jews, there are 3 different opinions. All jews around the world don’t speak and act with 1 ideology and 1 idea. Do not put your people to one basket for the sake of your people. History proves it’s dangerous thing to do again and again. You say Israel is the only democratic society in the middle east like a broken record. In the democratic society, criticism against govt’s polices are reasonable. Only totalitarians are label people who dare to criticise the govt’s polices such as anti-semite or self-hating jews.
How dare they call jews who have a different opinion “self-hating jews??

  55. Ingrid,

Are all those who don’t share your views propagandists? Don’t be so ignorant and dismissive of facts that don’t fit your distorted view of reality.
Where is the Palestinian peace proposal?
Hamas exists because of internal Palestinian policy – that is, historical gross corruption within the Palestinian Authority – Arafat was worth over a billion dollars at the time of his death – all stolen from foreign aid to the Palestinian people.
Hamas only exists today because of massive Iranian support and has done nothing positive for its people.

All you’ve written is a stream of unsubstantiated propaganda points, and every time I’ve called you on the distortion of fact and history underlying those points you’ve responded with blanket [Zionist] denial or ignored it and gone on to the next propaganda point.

I haven’t suggested you or anyone else is a ‘propagandist’, I’ve simply pointed out that your points are almost entirely based on propaganda and asked you why.

I’m not interested in whether you’re a propagandist by occupation, or simply repeat propaganda as a past-time, given your ideological commitment to Israel. The boundaries are blurred these days:

    Israel lobby: the blog edition
Posted By Evgeny Morozov Monday, September 14, 2009 – 4:27 PM
… as the international outcry against the war in Gaza began getting louder, Israel’s Immigrant Absorption Ministry announced a campaign to recruit an “army of bloggers” made up of polyglot Israelis who could counter anti-Israel sentiment on English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and French sites. According to reports in Haaretz, after having registered with the ministry, the polyglot volunteers were directed to sites that authorities found “problematic” and engage in discussions that would offer a pro-Israeli point of view. Those pro-war Israelis who didn’t want to coordinate their actions with the government could use special software – called Megaphone (originally developed for the 2006 war with Lebanon)– which could alert them to new articles, blog posts, and online opinion polls that required a joint online reaction (the most loyal supporters could also help by relying on more ominous tools – including one called “Help Israel Win” designed by Israeli university students – which allowed to lend one’s computer power to participate in shady cyber-attacks on Palestinian web-sites).

I don’t care to speculate, I just deal with what you write, that’s all. It does mean Israel is deliberately poisoning public debate on the internet with coordinated propaganda campaigns. Obviously that may have an effect on how repetitive Israeli propaganda points are received and interpreted within any such debate.

The Palestinians have made countless proposals, at Camp David and since, and they’ve entered into whole series of negotiations since then. The Israelis simply lay down preconditions before every set of negotiations to prevent them going forward, if they ever do move Israel seizes upon any opportunity to use massive force against the Palestinians to derail them.

If you weren’t interested in informing yourself of any of the Palestinian proposals, didn’t notice their participation in numerous diplomatic missions, then I think that just illustrates part of your problem in reconciling your point of view with actual events.

Your faux-sympathy for the people of Gaza you say are exploited by Hamas is quite gracious, quite remarkable for someone who supports the blockade upon them, and remains indifferent to the massive violence Israeli forces subject them to:

I asked you about the deaths number of deaths caused by both Palestinian and Israelis in and out of Gaza on the assumption that you’re indifferent to the facts and the actual loss of lives, and that your point about rockets out of Gaza is simply a propaganda point. You didn’t disappoint me. :)

You seem to be scoring propaganda points from ‘behind the skirts of women and children’ who you’re quite content to see rot in squalor and malnutrition, or risk being shot to pieces if their sons and brothers muster even futile and ineffectual resistance.

You’ve again dodged Israel’s hand in fostering Hamas, it seems to be a point about which you are in complete denial.

Your response suggests a certain doublethink on your part: Does Hamas exist “because of internal Palestinian policy” or does it only exist today “because of massive Iranian support”?

I neglected to point out your occupation mentality earlier when I pointed out the election of Hamas in 2006, leading to the international sanctions and the later blockade on Gaza. You said:

… Hamas won the elections however the recognized security forces, in Palestine and internationally, within the West Bank and Gaza were the Palestinian Authority. They were violently overthrown – fact.
There was and still is security cooperation with Israel and the Palestinian Authority

Because Israel and it’s international allies disagree with the representatives Palestinians choose, they select the security forces of the Palestinian Authority as the only acceptable authority, turning them into a quisling regime a tool of Israel’s occupation policy, and had to be overthrown by Hamas acting with a democratic mandate.

Notice how Israel has at different times cultivated and supported Palestinian opposition to the representatives of the majority of Palestinian people? One might conclude it’s merely the age old policy of divide and rule employed by most occupiers to weaken and subjugate people under occupation.

…Anyone out there have anything negative to say of Hamas or they a bunch of fine outstanding world citizens?

Hamas are simply a bunch of reactionary religious fundamentalists, fostered by both Israelis and Arabs to help undermine Fatah and the broader Palestinan Liberation Organisation, later Authority. They make a more appealing bogeyman for Israelis to point at while ethnically cleansing and colonising Palestinian territories, with the long term aim of liquidating the Palestinians as a people. That seems self-evident, given the history.

With Turkey’s recent history of their slaughter…

Hahaha, you seem to be in complete denial about Israel’s much more recent history of slaughter, still ongoing. You’re simply arguing as an apologist for Israel, regardless of facts and the history of events.

Carry on please, I don’t think I learn much about actual events or facts, but I am quite interested in your mode of argument and its tactical use of selected events combined with a blanket denial of others.

    Israel Attacks US

    By Jerry Ghinelli

January 01, 2009 “Information Clearinghouse”‘ — The government of Israel today launched a massive air assault on suspected terrorist targets along major coastal cities in the United States of America. In an operation termed “Friendly Enemy,” hundreds of Israeli F-16 fighter jets streaked across the Atlantic in precise formation and fired surgical air strikes at alleged terrorist strongholds in densely populated Muslim communities all along the northeast corridor of the United States. The American-made Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter jets then continued south, inflicting massive destruction in densely populated Muslim communities along many southeastern US states as well.

Reaction to the attacks on the US was swift. President Bush and President-Elect Obama both appealed for restraint, but stated emphatically, “Israel has the right to defend itself.”

Max and Stacy allow censorship here???

    What a surprise!

  81. @ Tamir Michael

Believe me, I’m not defending the Turks as a political entity.

The common people of Turkey had an awakening, decided to provide their fair share of aid to Gaza and their leaders moved that energy in the desired direction. The flotilla has many ethnicities signed on so we must ask why the Turkish ship was singled out. Cause and effect, order out of chaos etc..

I’m sick of hearing the word Conspiracy too. There was a plan, an evil plan so now a new set of people are dead or injured.

  82. Imagine…if only similar emotion as shown by the public over the case of flotilla/Israel were being applied with same force against the bankers and Wall Street crooks…just imagine!

  83. @ Ingrid,

Israel supported Hamas – seriously, why post outright lies?
It is true that Hamas won the elections however the recognized security forces, in Palestine and internationally, within the West Bank and Gaza were the Palestinian Authority. They were violently overthrown – fact.
There was and still is security cooperation with Israel and the Palestinian Authority.

Hamas has sacrificed the well being of its people for the sake of its hatred of Israel – this is not propaganda – just fact. How many $millions has gone to the people vs weapons? They fight behind the skirts of women and children. Women can’t show there faces in public or ride on bikes; soccer is banned; scores of people have been hanged, try practicing Christianity there?
That Hamas are a bunch of good folk is propaganda that you post.

Sure the Palestinians had the right to reject the Israeli offer of almost everything the Plestinians requested; but what was the counter-offer? There was none, just an intifada base on provocation and incitement.
Get your facts straight , man

You seem fluent in Israeli propaganda, we’ve had the ‘no partner for peace’ spiel, the one-eyed complaints about rockets fired *out* of Gaza, ignoring those Israel fires in, killing hundreds (if not thousands) more Palestinians than the handful of Israelis; patting Israel on the back for its ‘unilateral withdrawal’ ignoring it’s purpose to prevent any peace process going forward.

Yes Israel supported Hamas in its early days as a fundamentalist opposition to the secular Fatah. Own it, don’t bore me with your denial, Israel sponsored the growth of Mujama Al-Islamiya which later became Hamas, and it indulged Hamas in it’s struggle against Fatah.

I hope The Wall Street Journal isn’t too anti-Israel for you:
    JANUARY 24, 2009

Palestinians insisted that the final status of Jerusalem must be covered by any agreement. The Israelis weren’t interested in a comprehensive agreement, their offer was only to buy more time to expand their colonial settlements and seize Jerusalem.

So why is your version of history stuck in a Zionist bubble of denial and simply run from one cliche of Israeli propaganda to the next?

  85. JT re: Ingie I am embarrassed too and I’m not ishralie. She is rotten at her job. And the sad thing is she doesn’t realize how bad she is, sheesh.

  86. Posit for a moment the Gnorklings, who worship the god Gnork. They have a long history of violence against their neighbors. Then 2000 years ago, for various reasons, they are driven out of their country by the Fnorgs. They live in exile for centuries; many refuse to integrate into customs of their new homelands and are often persecuted for their strange behavior. 70 years ago, Zorkon, a nasty dictator tries to kill off all of the Gnorklings in his realm.

Zorkon is defeated by the Allies of Quark. The Allies then displace the Blargs who moved into the vacuum left 2000 years ago by the Gnorkling’s exile. Many Gnorklings move to where the Blargs were living, pushing out the Blargs. When the Blargs protest (yes, occasionally violently), they are treated in the same manner as the Gnorklings were treated by Zokon.

Now, a commando group of Gnorklings has boarded a relief ship of supplies for the besieged Blargs. The ship was in international waters. Are the Gnorklings in the right by preventing supplies going to the Blargs? Or have they become the oppressor of the Blargs, as they were oppressed by Zorkon?

**Lesson: when dealing with a highly charged situation, change the names of those involved. This can help one understand the situation better.

  87. @Bronxy

No, that’s why bigoted asses hate Jews.

  88. @P Alfonso

    Are you nuts?

Hasn’t our heavy-handed meddling caused enough grief (to other and ourselves) already?

As much as I deplore what the Israelis did, I can’t help but think that US involvement would have made a horrible situation into a horribly catasrophic situation. Why do I think so? What has the US done lately (say in the last 50 years) that hasn’t come back to bite us one way or another?

I don’t see that 60 years of US involvement has helped settle the matter. It is unlikely that another 60 (or 600) years of US involvement will either.

  89. Tamir Michael

    TJ,

I don’t have an issue with Turkey opposing Israeli policies. I do have an issue with Turkey intervening with internal Israeli matters- and the Gaza issue is, in addition to being a humanitarian nightmare, a serious issue for Israel’s safety (by the way, I live outside of Israel). What would Turkey say is Israel would have helped fund the PKK (I know there are conspiracy theories that it did)…?

    Hello Stacy,

I don’t want to spam this forum – let me try again, rephrased somewhat this time:

“I am an Israeli, and this entire situation does not make me happy at all. For the record: I support lifting the sieve from Gaza (as part of a larger ceasefire, of course). However, it is clear to me that this act was a pure provocation by Turkey. In my opinion, the Israelis should have done everything in their power to prevent violence, but they failed miserably (yet again!). However, the true radical here (apart from Hamas, of course) is the charming Turkish PM, that seems to be aligning his country with the moderate in the region – i.e, Hamas, Iran, Syria and the rest of the old/new ‘axis of evil’ “.
Apart from that – genuine sympathy to the ones that got hurt.

  108. Geophysics

Israel did a GREAT JOB! Hopefully this provocation will be the last unlawful
    attempt.

According to the international laws, no foreign vessel is allowed to enter
    national waters, unless given permission.

The bad thing is that 2 israeli comandos are heavily wounded. Let ‘s wish them speedy recovery!

  109. Our government should not only be outraged with this event but should have stopped it from happening but yet White House spokesman Bill Burton said “the United States deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries sustained and is currently working to understand the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.” They well understand what is going on. Is this the best explanation they can come up with to the American people?

Until recently, I used to be a strong supporter of their government and policies. Having come to my senses and studied some events that have taken place in the past I have come to understand that a foreign government has more influence in our country that our own government which is voted in by its people. It is time that the rest of our citizens wake up, realize that we are, and have been in the path to destruction because of our misguided foreign policies. Their country has been hijacked by the same ruthless people than ours and their citizens are been oppressed just as ours are. They are denied freedom and peace and those policies are taking hold in our own country.

We the people need to wake up to the truth on this subject and stop supporting these ruthless foreign policies that are coming home to roost on our own citizens.

You be the judge on this incident but don’t expect our government that is controlled by those who go against the will of the majority of the American people to side with justice. More importantly don’t expect the truth from a media that is owned by them. Their media is already reporting that they were attacked and acted in self-defense. Shouldn’t it be reported that those who they attacked were the ones that were acting in self-defense?

This is what happens to anyone who will compromise for peace.

You’d also think that the Israelis would know something about what they are creating in the ghettos of Gaza.

  117. @ Brandon,

Jews have been the most atttacked people over the last 5,000 years. The Romans, the Arabs, the Germans, the Egyptians have all tried to destroy them at some point. Antisemitic is still a huge problem worldwide especially in some parts of Europe. Lets not forget history.

That’s not so much history so much ethnic self-pity. It’s not as if every Jewish state in existence didn’t also attack it’s neighbours and persecute religious minorities.

Wouldn’t you say Palestinians are more attacked than Jews in the last 50 years of those history? Principally by Zionist Jews, who’ve sought to ‘wipe Palestine off the map’ and liquidate the Palestinian people, with the indulgence of the UN Security Council ensured by a US veto and a blind eye from their NATO allies.

Indeed, reaction to the nature and conduct of the Israeli state seems to be the principle cause of anti-semitism in the modern world, where institutions tend to shy away from public criticism of ‘the Jewish State’ because of the Holocaust.

However, people simply see an ethno-religious state seeking to seize a land they hadn’t occupied in nearly 2000 years and either ethnically cleanse its inhabitants or wipe out those who remain under occupation in Israel’s prison-states for Palestinians.

  118. Brandon Sanks

I oppose many of Isreal’s policies. The Arabs in Gaza and the West Bank deserve a state and Isreal should stop building settlements there period. However in Hungary we had the Jobbik party who is pretty much a openly Nazi party getting 16% of the vote that is scary to me. Look at Austria too.

Israel boarded a ship in International waters with armed men and expects the passengers to welcome them or automatically submit? Nonsense. The passengers have a right to self defense, as any other human being would, if encountering an illegal boarding in open waters. There is no evidence the flotilla was carrying war material. This outrage can only lead to one thing,..war. I’m sure this action was done with the blessing of the CIA.

  122. @ Tony
I guess the picutures where not good enough for you?
or video footage…o yeah they had them back then also.

  123. civilians attack elite special forces, with metal pieces, in the night, and they have to kill 19 and injure 70 to bring them under control? Give me a break, what kind of propaganda is this? There is one word for describing this kind of attacks in international waters: piracy

  124. @Brandon

Perhaps that depends on who’s writing the history books.

  125. Brandon Sanks

I just fear that the David Duke’s of the world will use stuff like this to support their views. He was doing this in Ukraine a few years back, he lives in Austria right now. I mean we still have people who deny the holocaust in the year 2010!

  126. @Brandon
    I agree with you Brandon…
but people have a short memory…
Especially the acts that took place less than 70 years ago…
and a body count will all know.

  127. @Brandon – indeed

  128. Brandon Sanks

Jews have been the most atttacked people over the last 5,000 years. The Romans, the Arabs, the Germans, the Egyptians have all tried to destroy them at some point. Antisemitic is still a huge problem worldwide especially in some parts of Europe. Lets not forget history.

  129. @ Ingrid,

Israel left Gaza Unilaterally. There was no blockade of Gaza prior to the violent overthrow of the Palestinian Authority by Hamas. Hamas is sworn to Israel’s destruction. Simple facts. All countries can defend their citizens without scrutiny, except Israel.
The Palestininas, with the negotiation aid of Bill Clinton, were offered all of Gaza, the West Bank (with agreed to land swaps), East Jerusalem and $35billion in refugee compensation – Arafat rejected it. There will be peace when the Palestinians embrace it.

You seem to have confused ‘simple facts’ with the cliches of Israeli propaganda.

Hamas won the 2006 Palestinian elections. As a result, Israel, the United States, the European Union, several Western states, and the Arab states imposed sanctions suspending all foreign aid, upon which Palestinians depend.

The international sanctions were terminated in June 2007 following the Battle of Gaza, while at the same time a new and more severe blockade of the Gaza Strip was initiated.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006-2007_economic_sanctions_against_the_Palestinian_National_Authority

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007–2010_blockade_of_the_Gaza_Strip

That was the beginning of the blockade, sanctions by Israel and its international allies against the democratic election of Hamas. They then turned the remnants of PLO-Fatah into a quisling regime of collaborators.

Hamas overthrew a quisling regime which had lost elections and was dependent upon Israeli occupiers.

You ignored Israel’s early support for Hamas in opposition to the PLO, why complain about their position on Israel now? You neglected to give any measure of the deaths caused by Israeli attacks in Gaza compared to Palestinian rocket attacks from there. Maybe it would expose those rocket attacks as pathetic fireworks compared to the overkill applied by Israel from land air and sea.

Your account of the US-Israeli stunt offer at Camp David to kill off the Oslo peace process only exposes Israel as a gangster state: making an offer Palestinian’s are not allowed to refuse. The Camp David ‘offer’ was just another blank cheque for Israel to continue it’s colonial expansion throughout the territories they illegally occupy. And you agree with Israel, peace only on submission terms that you intend to dictate.

The ‘unilateral withdrawal’ whine from Zionists is just like the ‘no partner for peace’ whine that followed the Camp David stunt. It’s just a self-serving pose for propaganda purposes. It was another effort by Israel to sabotage any peace process based on negotiations and agreements, rather than dictation under threat from Israel and it’s international allies:

In an October 6, 2004, interview with Haaretz, Dov Weissglas, Sharon’s chief of staff, declared: “The significance of the disengagement plan is the freezing of the peace process… When you freeze that process, you prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state and you prevent a discussion on the refugees, the borders and Jerusalem. Disengagement supplies the amount of formaldehyde that is necessary so there will not be a political process with the Palestinians”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel%27s_unilateral_disengagement_plan

Israel had a virtual ceasefire on rocket attacks, but refused to lift the blockade on Gaza. As ever, when Palestinian’s showed even a flicker of resistance Israel responded with massive overkill, massacring Palestinians indiscriminately: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_War#2008_six-month_lull

@Mike – “I’m waiting for the European reaction.”
Some parts of Europe have already reacted, in little Norway there have been protests in at least 6 cities today including a major protest in front of the Israeli embassy in Oslo. I’m sure people in the rest of Europe have had similar protests or going to have it in the following days.

Says the man who owns 50% of the posts in this thread? Geez.

Anyone who can’t see by now that Israel is acting like a terrorist these days is either on the payroll or just extremely dumb. There are no other options.

First they pull the Gaza slaughter and now this. They’re nothing but murderers.

    Murderers.

  133. @Lee – um, have you ever read the comments on this site? about 95% of them are people disagreeing with me, I do not judge these people neo-nazis; I promise you, however, I know when someone is trying to post neo-nazi propaganda and usually it involves such neanderthalic words as ‘exterminate’, so, as I said before and I will continue to say, no matter how much you want their conversation here, I am not interested in their ignorant, vile and dangerous hate and will not have it, but if you are so determined to engage in debate with them then go google them, I’m sure there are many, many sites for you to try to engage in free speech with them . . . if you are so for freedom, then why are you trying to force me to allow such people to write on my site?

Guess what is its 50 First state ???? UK Queen EB2

  140. A sad day for individual democracy and another embarrassment for Israel, the U.S. , U.K. and Canada. Is not Turkey a NATO country ? Should they not be defended by all of NATO as we currently see in Afghanistan ?

  141. Israel never seems to know when to back off. They just push and push, and push some more. This might work if Israel was the great military power that propagandized Americans think.

The truth is, Israel is no great military power, even vis-à-vis their neighbors. Had the US not intervened in 1973, Egypt and Syria would have marched into Haifa and Tel Aviv within days. Of course, Israel is a nuclear power. So are a lot of other countries. I think if we knew the whole list, we might be very surprised.

This attack on these boats will be mostly ignored in the US–or celebrated by the few Americans who can find Israel on a globe. In the Arab, and the rest of the Muslim world, it will not be ignored I’m waiting for the European reaction. (Not the government’s, but the people’s.) I’m thinking it may be huge. Also China, maybe Russia.

The Israelis may have miscalculated on this. Turkey was one of Israeli’s closest supporters in the region. Egypt and Jordan were, at least ostensibly, near allies. That may now change. What is Israei’s support in Europe? A few heads of state. And then there is the US. America has become little more than Israeli property. Trouble is, the US is getting poor and weak…maybe too weak to continue supporting Israel, everywhere, anywhere, no questions asked.

This whole thing is sure to play out very strangely.

Here’s an odd thing. I got up this morning and scanned through the TV. Not one word. After I went through my morning web reading where the flotilla story is huge, I went back to the TV. Not a word. Game shows, cartoons, soap operas…not a word.

    Mike

  142. @Lee – sorry, but I’m not interested in neo-nazis (fake or real) or their hate; they offer no genuine discussion and are only interested in spamming their cut and paste hate across the web and I close my comments to other spammers, too; or should I let the one and a half thousand viagra and sex video ads come through too?

  143. kostakosta

Seeing and hearing plain Israelis condoning this kind of thing, it seems to me it’s just another instance of corporate propagandizers destroying a society, a state. Those people are like all of us, but they are fed bs all day long, all their lives and they act accordingly.

When I started writting this comment it was the 394th. I think it’s too much talk, too big of a discussion what’s been going on since ’48. Either one does BDS against those people or not. The rest is just exercise.

  144. This is nothing compared to what the Middle East will look like in a year or two. Once the dollar is dead the welfare to Israel will be useless. They will be broke and will be feel like a cornered animal, nukes for everyone. One to Demascus, one to Riyadh, and how about one to Tehran?

  146. @zaphodity,

Re: Israel and the US. A lot of Christian Evangelicals support Israel no matter what it does. Israel has used this religious connection for their advantage and boy have they taken their advantage.

And yes, the US support of Israel after the second WW is another. But the out and out control of the US foreign policy is just mind boggling. Why do you think Rahm Emmanuel is the chief of staff in the Obama administration. There were better choices. Rahm Emannuel’s father was part of a Israeli terrorist group during the years of British control of Israel, came to the US in 1948…..it’s a long history.

This not meant to be an insult.

You don’t seem to have a clue about history and it’s repetition. In my younger days, I was a fighter pilot in a shit war. Where is your ‘experience’?

Palestine was once part of the Ottoman Empire, all that’s left is modern Turkey. IDF action is the proverbial turd in the pool. First everyone jumps out, then they go after the probable culprit. This thing will not end here. grow up

  161. Tamir Michael

I am an Israeli, and this entire situation does not make me happy at all. For the record: I support lifting the sieve from Gaza (as part of a larger ceasefire, of course). However, it is clear to me that this act was a pure provocation by Turkey. And no, Stacy, everything that happened, as far as I know, if in complete accordance with international law (nations do have a right to impose naval blockades, you know). The true culprit here (apart from Hamas, of course) is the charming Turkish PM, that seems to be on course to making his country an hub for extremism and false Islamic propaganda.

  162. I’ll bet Obama, Hillary, The Center for the new American Century etc are all sitting around trying to figure out exactly how to blame this mess on IMA-DINNER-JACKET.

  186. @ zap,

I wanna know all the details before I make a decision. I wanna know the laws etc. THEN i’ll pass judgement. But you have to look at this realistically, what do you thinks REALLY gonna happen about all this ?

Why do you have so much to say, mostly presuming to justify the use of deadly force by Israeli forces, when you claim you have yet to reach a judgement? Is it just for attention? All you’ve done is waffle and you haven’t provided any examples to back up your assertion that this Israeli action to storm a ship in international waters was perfectly normal.

I think another few % of Europeans will conclude that Israel is an international pariah state, which the EU should not be doing business with. Is suspect this will continue Turkey’s drift away from NATO as the cornerstone of it’s security policy and the EU as it’s preferred trading partner.

The US may be put in the position of shaming itself yet again, by using its UN Security Council veto to indulge Israel’s use of force, and it’s ongoing blockade of Gaza. It may be losing another ally in Turkey, because of its slavish indulgence of Israel’s endless atrocities.

  187. Have a few soda’s between drinks, your starting to sound like an emotional idiot.

  196. I’m just very curious to see how this will be spun…Most plebs will have forgotten all about this in 6 months time probably. Not saying I hope that happens, it’s about time Israel got it’s ass kicked. BUT they have nuclear weapons, VERY important fact. And as long as they do, nothing will happen.

  197. I could start ranting about the U.S.A. invading Iraq, but I won’t cooler heads prevail and all that..You have to imagine the world is like living in a bad neighborhood. Everyones out for themselves, people join gangs, families argue amongst themselves, shit basically happening all the time..world’s no different.

  198. Dear Stacy, Please don’t point out that we’re murdering psychopaths with no regard for non-Jewish life. Hitler, Hitler Nazis.

Dear Jewish reader, You got it. I’m sure it was the Nazis that made you do this, and why you can’t sign the NPT, but the murdering is getting pretty blatant, so I’ll mention nazis and neanderthals before mentioning the murders.

  199. What you don’t seem to grasp is that this means WAR.Maybe not today or tomorrow but soon. Those pithy comments of yours do nothing but ridicule a genuine effort to give real help to an oppressed people.

What you don’t seem to grasp is that this means WAR.Maybe not today or tomorrow but soon. Those pithy comments of yours do nothing but ridicule a genuine effort to give real help to an oppressed people.

Turkey has won new friends and I’m one of them.

  202. @norcalkid,

    You nailed it.

  203. @ zaphodity

So you agree a crime has been committed! It’s actually a 180 degree change from what you’ve been spouting Aussie. The facts remain that people were killed, ergo no longer alive. Look, don’t take it personally zap…i just think what you were saying your thoughts were odd considering what facts were already out there. I believe in self defense by all means, but the killers couldn’t possibly take that stance. Unless that is, that 10,000 tons of food and aid in the hands of the hungry, sick and poor will become a giant boot to the face of Israel. In that case, I see how this invasion/murder over international waters makes perfect sense.

  204. I wanna know all the details before I make a decision. I wanna know the laws etc. THEN i’ll pass judgement. But you have to look at this realistically, what do you thinks REALLY gonna happen about all this ? I tell you what I thinks gonna happen. There’s gonna be strong words, visits by Presidents, Prime Ministers, the press will spin it towards Israels favor and 3 months from now it’ll be forgotten…Like it ALWAYS is.

  205. Those goods were to be transferred through Israel to Gaza after Israeli inspection – this mission was a bash Israel mission and had nothing to do with good-will.
Israel left Gaza unilaterally and in return all they got in return were thousands of missiles at their southern towns. The over throw of the Palistinian Authority in Gaza by Hamas is what has led to Gazan Missery – How would the USA deal with Mexico/Canada if it was sworn to USA demise and fired 1000’s of rockets at it?
TJ transfer your goods to Gaza through Egypt and see how far they get?
If your’e concerned about Gaza, look at both side of the story – far more productive than simple Israel bashing.

The goods were to be delivered to Gaza, the prison-statelet Israel keeps under blockade since evacuating it’s occupying forces. The mission was to break Israel’s blockade on Gaza, so Israel used maximum force to halt this effort and terrorise anyone else thinking of challenging their blockade.

The Israeli armed forces bomb Gaza and send in their assassins whenever it suits them, regardless of whether a few poxy fireworks get thrown back in the other direction.

Care to give a rough death toll from Palestinan and Israeli attacks in and out of Gaza?

Truth is, Israel holds Gaza as an open prison, like their own Warsaw Ghetto for Palestinians. They use any pretext to shoot them like fish in a barrel.

Israel fostered Hamas in Gaza as an opposition to the PLO (later PLA), then shot the Palestinian Authority to pieces after they aborted the (Oslo) peace process. Clinton helped set up the Palestinians for that with his Camp David stunt, ever since Zionist have been whining about having ‘no partner for peace’ when they’ve attacked every party who’s sought to negotiate with them.

Hamas picked up the pieces after Israel discredited the PLO’s strategy of negotiating for a settlement and massacred Palestinians by the thousand after they’d stirred up the ‘second intifada’, which started in response to Israel’s endless expansion of it’s illegal colonial settlements and Ariel Sharon’s provocations around the Temple in Jerusalem.

  206. Noodles123

Don’t really like either group…Pals and Isrealies…BUT I HATE BULLIES.

Hence my whole F*ck Isreal feeling…Remember what they did in Lebanon a few years back supposedly over 2 soldiars?…Bombing the cities of your neighbors who don’t really mess with you is what I consider “Bad Policy”…Once a fan of Isreal I now can’t stand them and their whiny selfish ways.

This can go on forever…”Well someone there launched a rocket at us…So we bombed them but accidently hit a school…So they launched more rockets at us…So we bombed them and accidently hit the water purification plant.etc etc etc”

They use TOO much force…No one likes a bully.

What corpse of an excuse can roll in from the fog to make it all make sense? It’s a dead premise. People were killed, over and out. Oh, maybe the folks on the boat shouted racial epithets. Well, then…shoot away.

  217. @Paul

No, I cant say with any accuracy how i’d handle a situation like that. It’s their country, mind your own business. No, most ships are boarded depending on a situation, usually regardless if the captain likes it or not. Stop the ship or we open fire..Sound familiar ?

  228. YOu know, 10,000 tons of food an aid is something to be concerned about. You get that 10,000 tons of food and aid to the hungry, sick, and poor, and they might eat, get healed, and prosper. Then they might become that next generation of able bodied that can cause an uprising. Yeah, I see how Israel can be concerned about 10,000 tons of food and aid now. Such long term thinking. So much so, they have to cut them off at the pass in international waters.

  233. @ zap,

Yes well that’s true and i’m sure it’ll be taken into consideration but the average person would be scared shitless if a load of armed commando’s flew in, landed on the boat, started pointing guns and barking orders.

In situations like that you do as your told….

Fight or flight are the two instinctive reactions. Unless or until you are in a similar life-threatening situation, you have no idea how you or anyone else would behave.

Perhaps you would cower in submission when faced with overwhelming force, others may differ.

I’m not, I want all the facts before I base an opinion…Regardless of how much you hate Israel (personally I don’t give a shit either way) but you have to look at this from a lawful point of view because that’s how the Israeli government will look at it.

Boats get stopped and boarded by armed guards in international waters ALL the time. When they do it’s not a good idea to start bashing armed soldiers over the head with metal bars.

The Israeli state flouts international law with impunity, it’s own law is devoted to building an Zionist apartheid state over as much Palestinian land as they can illegally occupy.

Most ships boarded in international waters happen with the captain’s knowledge (if not consent), they’re not raids in darkness by storm-troopers using lethal force all around them. Examples please, if you say it’s commonplace.

  234. What part of international waters does anyone not understand? You come on board, you’ve committing a crime.

I wonder if this changes Max’s stance on illegal immigration…

  243. One thing I cant understand is why are Israel and America almost joined at the hip ? Why are they so buddy buddy ? Is it because they helped set up Israel after WW2 with death camp refugees ? Is it because of the Jesus thingy ? I never have gotten a good answer for that one.

  245. @TJ
Those goods were to be transferred through Israel to Gaza after Israeli inspection – this mission was a bash Israel mission and had nothing to do with good-will.
Israel left Gaza unilaterally and in return all they got in return were thousands of missiles at their southern towns. The over throw of the Palistinian Authority in Gaza by Hamas is what has led to Gazan Missery – How would the USA deal with Mexico/Canada if it was sworn to USA demise and fired 1000′s of rockets at it?

@Ingrid – crew members were NOT armed. As previous youtube link posted by zaphodity shows, they may have managed to disarm some soldiers AFTER being attacked. B) Do as your told and follow instructions they give you ?

  271. @Harry W
Crew members were armed – since when do weapons get through customs if not deliberately? Soldiers were attacked and responded – why do spew your lies ?

  272. How about, why didn’t the Isrealis just simply block the boat from docking?

Why send commandos to attack and subdue an aid ship?

    Why is the urgency?

  273. - That’s totally wrong conclusion to make, the provokers are the invading Israeli military, not the activists who is trying to defend themselves against the attack.

    Who attacked who first ?

  274. ..If you do, then dont piss and moan when you get shot..

  277. Stacy,

Thank you for having the courgage to do this. On Huffington Post, a poster can get banned (I have been) for criticizing Israel.

The AIPAC in the US runs the government. Anyone who tries to run for office, must grovel and show absolute alliegence to Israel.

I was one of the early signators of the petition regarding 911. Our office in Olympia, WA was visited by “Israeli Art Students” a couple of years ago casing the place out. I emailed Wayne Madsen investigative journalist, and asked him about the Israeli Art Student angle. He said they are an intelligence gathering group of Israelis operating in the FBI he also said that he would not trust Huffington Post. After that, we have received in the mail periodicals out of the blue, which were sympathic to Zionism and that no one should criticize the state of Israel..

Six months ago, while working in our Law Office, I got a call from a person from a phone booth saying they had been thrown off the subway in Olympia (we don’t have subways) because they were “Jewish, you know, JEW” this said with obvious venom. The message couldn’t more clear, we know where you live, we know where you work, don’t criticize Israel.

This is what is happening in the US. This is the weapon of “anti semite” and fear that Israel uses. Southern Poverty Law Center is rife with these people targeting Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Alex Jones. Just listen to James Trafficant’s interviews and understand how powerful these people are.

This video really exposes what the state of Israel has become and our government is silent because they have been co-opted.

  278. The Israelis stormed the boat by force, in international waters.

They took the passengers prisoner and used deadly force to overcome and deter any resistance to their own use of violence.

Yes well that’s true and i’m sure it’ll be taken into consideration but the average person would be scared shitless if a load of armed commando’s flew in, landed on the boat, started pointing guns and barking orders.

In situations like that you do as your told.

  279. @Ingrid, they weren’t armed as Turkish authorities searched them all and the cargo.

The only arms involved were those of the Israeli armed forces storming a ship and taking prisoners in international waters.

Why are you spouting Israeli propagandists’ lies?

Why were those supposedly on a humanitarian mission armed?
They passed through Turkish customs, did they not?

  284. What was the temperament of the crew ? had they been drinking ?

  285. If on the other hand they got aboard and then started shooting people for no reason then that’s murder.

  286. The fascist government that runs Israel would do well to attend to the rapidly changing power structure in the region. Recently, Turkey, with a modern military, once an ally, has switched allegiances and is now warning Israel vis-à-vis it’s behaivor. The US military is bogged down and broke. Russia and China have strong interests there and strong trade ties with Iran. When one examines the number of soldiers & reserves, the numbers are as folllows:

    Egypt 1,109,000
    Iran 3,675,000
    Israel 629,000
    Lebanon 85,000
    Syria 536,000
    Turkey 1,075,000

One may say, so what. Israel has nukes. So do Russia and China. Any nuclear detonation in the region because of the wind pattern would contaminate China. Both China & Russia are stretching their reach in the area. Israel’s government would be prudent to make peace.

  287. Glad to see Press TV getting some much overdue respect.

…This weekend’s Israeli slaughter should pique people’s interest in Press TV.

the MKC community – by supporting Press TV – has hopefully helped the trend build – away from the FoxNews/CNN type propaganda – toward the type of honest journalism we’ve been able to present via PTV.

I had to watch Press TV to get coverage of the demonstrations in London (Whitehall, and now the Israeli embassy). Al Jazeera of course had reporters on board the ship, their fate still unknown.

The western networks (BBC, CNN, Sky & Fox) seemed very reluctant to give full coverage until much later. Perhaps they were watching their viewing figures dropping by the minute? Most western networks seem to heavily filter coverage and contributers, and often end up simply interviewing desk-bound reporters and ‘think tank’ propagandists rather than interviewing witnesses or getting their cameras in the right place to capture events as they happen.

France24 now report a demonstration of hundreds on the Champs-Élysées, with police using tear gas.

  288. Not enough details to form a opinion. Lets just say if there was a riot like that at a pub, 40-50 people against 12 cops, bashing them with iron bars etc you can sure as shit bet they’d open fire on em’. I’m not taking anyones side here i’m giving an opinion based on evidence I have (which isn’t very much).

If they started hitting them with metal bars and chairs unprovoked well the soldiers are trained to respond and in this case it APPEARS to be self defense.

  289. “Did they land on the boat then start shooting or did they get attacked first THEN start shooting ?”

Quoting Karl Marx is neither enlightening nor adroit. All it does is show your age and where you cohabitate (your mom’s basement).
…If the whole world would have taken Marx seriously, you wouldn’t be sitting in your parents basement right now with your Che t-shirt on, listening to RATM, and typing this garbage over the Internet….

While your only contribution is to illustrate your ignorance of Marx, who is quite enlightening on the current [credit] crisis of capital (See Capital Vol.3 Ch.27-31), and to be personally insulting towards another poster.
Is the arrogance simply compensating for your ignorance?

    http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1894-c3/ch30.htm

In a system of production, where the entire continuity of the reproduction process rests upon credit, a crisis must obviously occur — a tremendous rush for means of payment — when credit suddenly ceases and only cash payments have validity. At first glance, therefore, the whole crisis seems to be merely a credit and money crisis. And in fact it is only a question of the convertibility of bills of exchange into money. But the majority of these bills represent actual sales and purchases, whose extension far beyond the needs of society is, after all, the basis of the whole crisis. At the same time, an enormous quantity of these bills of exchange represents plain swindle, which now reaches the light of day and collapses; furthermore, unsuccessful speculation with the capital of other people; finally, commodity-capital which has depreciated or is completely unsaleable, or returns that can never more be realised again. The entire artificial system of forced expansion of the reproduction process cannot, of course, be remedied by having some bank, like the Bank of England, give to all the swindlers the deficient capital by means of its paper and having it buy up all the depreciated commodities at their old nominal values. Incidentally, everything here appears distorted, since in this paper world, the real price and its real basis appear nowhere, but only bullion, metal coin, notes, bills of exchange, securities. Particularly in centres where the entire money business of the country is concentrated, like London, does this distortion become apparent; the entire process becomes incomprehensible; it is less so in centres of production. …

…It follows from the above that commodity-capital, during crises and during periods of business depression in general, loses to a large extent its capacity to represent potential money-capital. The same is true of fictitious capital, interest-bearing paper, in so far as it circulates on the stock exchange as money-capital. Its price falls with rising interest. It falls, furthermore, as a result of the general shortage of credit, which compels its owners to dump it in large quantities on the market in order to secure money. It falls, finally, in the case of stocks, partly as a result of the decrease in revenues for which it constitutes drafts and partly as a result of the spurious character of the enterprises which it often enough represents. This fictitious money-capital is enormously reduced in times of crisis, and with it the ability of its owners to borrow money on it on the market. However, the reduction of the money equivalents of these securities on the stock exchange list has nothing to do with the actual capital which they represent, but very much indeed with the solvency of their owners.

That’s Marx on a ‘credit crunch’ and anticipating bailouts, relating it to the productive economy and the related class interests.

Do you have anything to contribute to our knowledge of the ongoing financial crisis (other than antipathy for Marx)?

  302. @ zaphodity

West, who Truthout profiled in an investigative report last week about the Bush administration’s apparent scuttling of West’s criminal probe into BP in 2007, was harshly critical of the way the disaster has been handled by the government. He said in an interview that BP and the oil conglomerate’s executives are “known as liars” and the fact that the government has treated “and continues” to treat the company with kid gloves is “outrageous.”

“BP is a convicted serial environmental criminal,” West said. “So, where are the criminal investigators? The well head is a crime scene and yet the potential criminals are in charge of that crime scene. Have we learned nothing from this company’s past behavior?”

Exactly the scenarion in the James Bond Move Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomorrow_Never_Dies

Media baron Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce), head of the Carver Media Group Network (CMGN), begins his plans to use the encoder to provoke war between China and the United Kingdom. As the existing Chinese leadership is not receptive to giving Carver Media Group Network exclusive broadcast rights in their country, Carver wants to use a war to eliminate them in favor of politicians more friendly to his plans. Meaconing the GPS signal using the encoder, Gupta sends the frigate HMS Devonshire off-course in the South China Sea, where Carver’s stealth ship and its crew plan to steal a number of its missiles[4]. Carver’s henchman, Stamper (Götz Otto), sinks the frigate with a sea drill and shoots down a Chinese J-7 fighter jet sent to investigate the British presence, and then the men aboard the stealth ship kill the Devonshire’s survivors with Chinese weaponry. Thinking they have been attacked by the Chinese, Admiral Roebuck deploys the British Fleet to recover the frigate, and possibly retaliate, leaving M only forty-eight hours to investigate its sinking.

The use of the term ‘alqaida’ or ‘alqaeda’ has an interesting history: relative to the idea of non-state enemy according to Rickard declaratory ‘tweet’. One wonders if the birdbrains who tweet such nonsence understand the relevance of the term? It is being used to forward industrial capital interests veering on neo-colonial murder/rape/mayhem designate through the power of the G20 in favor of private bank profit for elite families.

Here’s the root of the word:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2002/aug/24/alqaida.sciencefictionfantasyandhorror

“Science fiction has often featured “evil empires” against which are set utopian ideas whose survival must be fought for against the odds by a small but resourceful band of men. Such empires often turn out to be amazingly fragile when faced by intelligent idealists. Intelligent idealists who are also psychopaths might find comfort in a fictional role model – especially one created by a novelist famous for castigating that “amiable dunce” Ronald Reagan: the president who prosecuted the CIA’s secret war in Afghanistan.”

Is Rickards one of those resourceful men? If so, he’s fighting with the wrong team. Alqaeda was an invention of the CIA.

A very interesting piece of law. It seems extraordinary to this European that the US forbids it’s citizens to exercise their right of boycott in a free market. On the other hand, the US compels them to boycott it’s own targeted states, and presumes to sanction others who decline to observe those boycotts.

Now, on your most recent podcast, you speak of “boneheads”.. No shit. Apparently some of them can’t read. Your message is 100% clear to me. But of course, I can read.

For those who can’t read, here is a catspeak translation: Stacy was told by some well meaning bonehead NOT to criticize Israel (ie., Zionism) because it would attract (a) Nazis and (b) crude Zionist appologists.. both of whom are apt to be disruptive to the proceedings. Stacy told the well meaning bonehead to FUCK OFF. She is saying she will do what she likes on her own website and if anyone don’t dig it they can fuck off and start their own website. She was saying if she wants to point out the crimes of Israel she will fucking well do so.. and if this attracts troublemakers, they will be banned from here.

I say.. RIGHT ON, STACY! Are we not humans? Do we not believe in TRUTH? Then.. let truth be told and fuck the difference!

  351. @Casper,…..RE: “I’ve said all along there’s nothing to be gained in tolerating trolls and provos. Their aim is always to highjack the threads in order to disrupt and discredit the message. 354. Casper Studly

Liberal toleration of total assholes does nothing except fuck up your real fans who come here for information and truth, not hasbara (propaganda) of the imperialists.

On the events in the Med.. the longstanding aim of the Zionist leadership is to increase their power. The main targets of Zionist activity is other Jews.. the Jewish people. For more than a hundred years the strategy of the ideologists of the Zionist cult has been to create anti-semitism because they understand it is that which drives the Jewish people into their hands. To deprive the Zionist fascists (identified as such by Einstein and the great Hannah Arrendt many years ago) of their power to manipulate the Jewish people, it is absolutely necessary to avoid the temptation of conflating Zionism with Jews in general. Many (if not most) of the most dedicated opponents of Zionist fascism are Jews. Therefore, attacking Jews in general works exactly as the cultists wish.

Besides which, of course, racism is just fucking stupid thinking. The genetic differences between the “races” are marginal at best. We share 95% of the same genetics as.. chimpanzees. It’s only the incompetent and the utterly worthless who resort to racism because they have nothing else to distinguish themselves. If I’ve got nothing else to distinguish me but the shape and size of my nose.. then it’s time to hang it up, Jim. Hang up the ol’ guitar and go out to the backshed and eat the gun.

Israel found weapon on-board the boat so says the IDF spokesperson and here’s apparently how:

“IDF forces apprehended two violent activists holding pistols. The violent activists took these pistols from IDF forces and apparently opened fire on the soldiers as evident by the empty pistol magazines.”
    http://idfspokesperson.com/2010/05/31/pistols-found-on-flotilla-activists-31-may-2010/

Israel found weapons on-board, they’re OWN weapons which they themselves had to carry on-board the ship during the military invasion.
So in other words there were NO weapons on-board previous to the Israeli boarding massacre. Admitted from their own site.
It just makes the whole incident even more tragic.
I also think that the “activists took the pistols from IDF” is a bluff a desperate attempt of Spin, spin the situation.

Many people seem to believe that Scotland will become it’s own state within 25 years. Remember Scotland is ruled by Scottish law while England and Wales are ruled by English law. In a way, being next to the US — Canada has limited choices here. Being an oil and gas producer does not help either, per Canada’s hope of a natural neutrality.

Also, there is the issue of being a supporter “In principal” vs “In practice” … in that the US has far superceeded Canada in the “In practice” department. Voting 100% in favor of Israel at the UN is not alone “In practice” but more “In principal” … etc …

As long as Canada’s ‘state to state’ aid is (on a per capita basis in the aid originating country) 1/10th to 1/20th of the US’s there is hope.

Religion has been used for the wrong reasons that is the problem. I’m a Catholic but will admit that the Vatican has made alot of mistakes in 2,000 years. Religion shouldn’t be used to dominate people. For centuries in Europe it was. A big reason why the US is alot more religious than Europe I think is because the US was always a secular state by law. Religion was never forced on people in the US. Not every American Christian worships at the altar of Pat Robertson, I certainly don’t.

    http://www.opednews.com/articles/Controversy-in-Zion-by-Niall-Bradley-100408-717.html
As Gaza notched its thousandth day under brutal siege last month, Vice President Biden arrived in the “Holy Land” to talk shop with its regional partner in war crime. The Israeli government extended a welcoming slap in the face by announcing plans to build 1,600 homes for Jewish Orthodox Zealots in east Jerusalem, just as he was to sit down for the state dinner.

Ideally, Biden would have responded by getting back on his plane and flying home, but he played out the humiliation and meekly condemned the move, opening a month of speculation in the mainstream media about “tension in US-Israeli relations.” But if Biden was feeling the tension, he certainly masked it well, declaring on his visit to Theodore Herzl’s tomb: “You don’t have to be a Jew to be a Zionist. I also see myself as a Zionist.”

Forgiveness can only happen when the bully apologize, repents of his/her wrongdoing and pay the price for the bullied.

Saying “let’s forgive them” without this process is a hypocrasy and same as defending the indefensible. In anoter words, siding with the bully.

  424. Stacy, you are right of course there are many Israelis who abhor their State’s actions, but I do believe the Israeli propaganda machine is slowly twisting and corroding many of their citizens’ minds. 429. Hey to Adam C,
thanks for the link, very important info and take on things
This has been said before my a jewish american man, who coined the term the holocaust industry – was vilified at the time even by myself and i’m not jewish and had no direct experience or knowledge of the issue other than through what i imbibed via western msm.

We have a call in radio show called any answers, the host is famous, a palestine woman rang in to say, we didn’t do anything to deserve this, we weren’t responsible, it wasn’t us why are we paying the price re – holocaust. And Dimbely was erring and umming as if this was a preposterous, disturbing, wacky, alien take on things – he’s a senior journalist and he couldn’t even respond in actual whole WORDS!
Soon after another BBC radio report on Today about an english jewish couple moving to israel to be near their grandchildren, the man said regarding the palestinans they can’t come back of course they can’t come back, if they did israel wouldn’t exist. Without a hint of controvesy, it was accepted as if it was nothing outrageous, the right to destroy, rob, steal and ghettorise people because you want what they have! The western media is totally schizophrenic on this whole issue! If this man had been Serbian / white south african what do you think the BBC reporter’s take and response on this might have been!!!!

… this is what the IDF are like when they are being “sensitive”. Imagine how they treat the Palestinians…

  433. And by the way, I was in Jerusalem for 10 days in 2000 and spent most of the time with Israelis (rather than as a tourist); nobody I met, of course, was at all similar to the maniacs in charge and the maniacs that the maniacs in charge pander to; I feel for Israelis that it is much like being an American abroad where overseas people only see the homicidal paternalistic neo-cons and their bloody rampages around the world and assume all Americans are like that; in my brief experience, I saw nothing like that, and, in fact, had one of the coolest experiences when watching O Brother Where Art Thou at an outdoor cinema at the Jerusalem film festival and Teddy Kollek introduced Ehud Olmert, who was I guess the Mayor of Jerusalem at the time; the howls of hatred for Olmert from the more than 1000 people there to watch the film was unlike anything I had ever seen, heard or felt; afterwards, I asked my host why everyone hated this guy Olmert (and I was politically unaware of anything in the country at the time) and she said that he was from a party that was racist and stirring up conflict with Palestinians and she mentioned Netanyahu, which was the first time I had ever heard his name

  434. The action of these brave people who are trying to bring justice to the Palestinian people by facing evil, will help expose the lie.

Farmers usually sell some gold and silver ornaments ahead of the kharif sowing season to pay for seeds and fertilisers, and the current surge in gold prices has provided an added incentive.

Among them were 85 yr old holocaust survivor Hedy Epstein, 1976 Nobel Peace Prize holder Mairead Corrigan Maguire from N.Ireland, Swedish writer Henning Mankell.

No matter how pure the mission is, no matter how strongly you disagree with the blockade and thinking it is there on a totally wrong reasons or illegal or shouldn’t be there at all, you simply do not try to force your way through a military blockade without expecting some sort of action. ============
    Stacy Summary:
I’ve been asked by a user of the site to remain silent on Israeli crimes for fear of dragging out the usual cast of ignorant, Neanderthal Nazis (half of whom I know are paid to be so). I believe it is exactly this silence for fear of the Neanderthals (faux and real), however, that has resulted in this shocking impunity.
    ===========

Except that the UK and US have thrown a lot of money at Israel, I don’t quite see the connect to the global finance crisis here.

For some reason, related to text typography “Neanderthal” must always be capitalized. It is a proper place, but species names must also be initial cappa too…

I have a pet theory, but it is probably true — that one should be amazed that Mossad has not liquidated all people in the USA in opposition to the US troop deployments in the Mid-East and South Asia.

This theory only applies to the views held by rank and file security intelligence agency staff outside the Levant and outside the USA on Mossad.

    Anorthrwords, same-old … etc …

  473. Whether it’s under an Israeli flag, or any other, makes no difference,..force is force,..and it always leads to the inevitable,…go figure all you ignorant fks out there! : )

  474. There were lots of weapons found in the vessel Israel says… Hmm, killer weapons…the kitchen was full of knifes and forks and cleavers…
If Israel didn’t find any weapons on board I’m sure they would be able to find some weapons regardless!

  475. @Stacy

Not even that, its music blasting in a empty fairground..The media are distributing the excuse, so everybody can go on ignoring everything that happens for a socially acceptable reason..Event -> Verbal Utterance -> Forget is better than Event -> Action -> Engage, and the people agree as long as they are provided with the right lines..Last thing they want to seem to be is dumbstruck, that would be embarresing..

  476. I personally think Hamas should release another one of their pop bottle fire cracker attacks on the small towns boardering Gaza. Shock and awe, baby.

Come on now folks, like you guys are surprised by the Isrealie Gov’ts decision to storm these ships. This so called country has always abused human rights and done what they have liked without impunity. After all their masters the Rothchilds own most of this world and its gov’ts.

But in all honesty the PTB, have used provacateurs on the both sides of this made up conflict. You can debate how it all started, but you cannot debate, that both the Palestinians and Isrealis have commited atrocities over the years.

  477. Thank you Stacy. You are so right.

This breaking news is a heart break to those who love truth and peace. And those, who as you and Max, refuse to cower to the ‘terrorists’—les vrais.

Just as we have seen corporate fascism invade our country, we see that corporate fascism has invaded Israel. Is it fear that has allowed such atocities? callousness? a false sense of superiority? Didn’t the prophets all die trying to call Israel to repentance?

We cannot defend evil. Not the evil in our own country, against our own population, or the Iraquis or Afghans ; not the evil perpetuated against an impoverished Gazan population.

Nor should we remain silent—which is a form of complicity.

  478. Antisemitism now carries the connotation of Pro-freedom/free speech.

Blood for profit is an everyday thing but this Gaza business…merde! it’s beyond obscene. Killing Turkish volunteers may be the turning point. I
would not like to be on the receiving end of their reply, eh @ Sinan?

The Crusader states lasted around 125 years. How long do you give Israel?

  482. My humble opnion to a 2nd world country

Bare in mind tear was’nt much opposition from Afganistan and Iraq
    Hic ;-)

  484. @Danny – at this point it appears that most of the dead are Turkish; killing only Muslims will, of course, help with selling the story to enough of the American population, which frankly, is all that matters when one wants to commit international (war)crimes with impunity

  485. @ Mike/L

19 dead? And the NYT whores call it making contact?

    Roll out the pukewagons

  486. Marc Authier

Arrogant fascist neo-cons. It’s clear. They want to transform Gaza in a sort Warsaw ghetto. The comparisons are not that crazy and far fetched when you read about the living conditions in Gaza. History is quite horribly ironic. Victims of history eventually become exucutioners of history. It’s clear. It’s about liquidating the Palestinians, not just “fanatic” organizations.

Israel too is filled with fanatics and extremists. Indeed. I wouldn’t be surprised see these crazies nuking Teheran. Israel is under the influence of dangerous right wing extremists. They intend indeed exterminating the people in Gaza.

  487. Mike/Liverpool

    19 Dead…………….

I don’t know what to say
    Mike

  488. When the war starts, at least everyone will know who the real enemy is.

  489. @Bonn ….Me thinks it was a ruse perhaps. :) ….dont kill me now!

  490. Turks are flipping out. That’ll show them for brokering a deal (with Brazil) with Iran.

    Turkish TV:

    http://www.trt.net.tr/Canli/canli.aspx?kanal=TRTTURK&amp

  491. Also I imagine the “crazed enviro-humano-terrorist seized the Krav Maga-trained IDF soldier’s machine gun and fired indiscriminately at the soldiers” will be the meme of choice if mentioned in US media.
Oops Thee NYT is mentioning that “violence” is afoot, aboard the flotilla.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/31/world/middleeast/31flotilla.html?src=mv

  492. 1. Russia & Turkey joint oil pipeline project,
    2. Rumors of expanding BRIC to BRICT (including Turkey),
    3. Latest Naval Base attack in Iskenderun-Turkey,
    4. Attacking only the Turkish flagged ship heavily while there are 5-6 other ships with non-Turkish flags,
    5. Turkish government refusing the use of bases in Turkey for a future operation to Iran.

You can expand the list. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Are USA/Israel sending messages to Turkish Government?

    Only time will tell!!

  493. & anyways I am 100 times more Pissed off at USA tan Israel

  495. @dan valley

There was this mysterious message in my fried egg this morning (the yoke was at a 5 degree angle with the union rings) saying you must give all your money to me!

  496. Name the bastard Stacy.

    http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2010/0531/breaking4.html
“Irish activists aboard the 1,200-ton cargo ship Rachel Corrie , named after an American who was crushed to death by an Israeli army bulldozer in Gaza in 2003, had set sail from Dundalk at the weekend to join the convoy.”

They steal our passports and identities and now they shoot at our citizens. Israel is a failed state. Jaffa stealing bastards.

  497. A Pirate Nation.

  498. @Stacy

True, but of course the lack of supplies is killing Gazans, not specifically or necessarily reducing their combat powers. That they don’t bother to respect the lives of citizens of any country is where I deem them suicidal..Massasa, where the Sicarrii hid (Barabass was one), a sect of stealthy assasins forcing the population into unecessary wars…

  499. Marc Authier

These neo-con Israelis are quite a bunch of sick people. Psychiatric treatment needed. No need to comment further. Sick politics and sick militaries. Will they be selling the organs of the aid workers they murdered ?

  500. @Stacy, I am well aware of MSM and Israeli propaganda machine so don’t judge my comments as MY opinion.

  501. The Earth is a Perpetual Oil Generating Machine! (The last thing the elites want you to know)!

  502. @ Stacy
As me Dad has werked wit Isarelis closely while developin the Advanced Light helicopter which he was testin
    He drew 2 conclusions
A ) “tey have real Pride in tear nation” (God only knows Why – Bonn)
B ) tear was a time when tear Military took a 50 % pay cut and still werked

Me dad laughed so hard cause he said if tee Govt. ever asked Indan military to take a 50 % cut even when India is @ war
the Indian Military would go on Strike
    lolololololol
    ROFL
    Hic ;-)

  503. @Mother – “but their aim is not to prevent attacks, but to kill Gazans” I believe that there were mostly non-Palestinians on the boats; including a famous Swedish writer who has not been heard from and two Australian journalists who have also not been heard from since the massacre; though I suspect most of the survivors are unreachable whilst they are in the hands of the untouchables

  504. Well said stacey

  505. Start building your bunkers Marc Faber says war is on its way and by the looks of things Id say so….remember community is the key.

  506. Thank you to both Stacy and Max for this thread. First time poster, long time lurker. Thought these links might add to the jibber and jabber. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article25580.htm
    http://pacificfreepress.com/news/1/6306-qmainstreamq-media-silence-meets-gaza-flotilla.html
Also, the recent Brazil/Turkey nuclear deal with Iran and the immediate disrespect Hillary ladled out, plays in the background to this incident.
Just for kicks the link to the Turkish PM’s ‘appreciation’ of Shimon Peres undisturbed diatribe at Davos.

  507. @Mongo

Needless to say, taking a gun from a person boarding without permission in international waters sounds like a logical thing to do. Isreal could have insisted on inspecitng the vessels during the day, but their aim is not to prevent attacks, but to kill Gazans..Their options are running out fast, why they want to play Mount Massada I don’t know. Most be the core of bigots dominating policiy. If they dare to nuke Iran I expect Europe will become lethal territory for them. There is no room in the world for autistic governments, nothing is important enough for the kind dangers they bring..

  508. anyone here see …”The girlfriend experience”?…..what about.. “Choke”?.

  509. @Stacy, Propaganda i guess? ;)

  510. @Mongo – So an activist disarmed a commando . . . now it all makes sense.

    @Bonn – great analogy!

  511. Few hours before this attack, a Turkish Military Logistics base is attacked in port of Iskenderun, which is the nearest naval base to the incident. Six soldiers are dead.

    What a coincidence?

    http://www.todayszaman.com/tz-web/news-211613-100-six-turkish-soldiers-killed-in-attack.html

Watch for the diplomatic propaganda Spin in the news!

I think it is the right thread to repost this headline, scary if it’s true:

Israel stations nuclear missile subs off Iran
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article7140282.ece
“Three German-built Israeli submarines equipped with nuclear cruise missiles are to be deployed in the Gulf near the Iranian coastline.”

  517. Word of the day: Vitriolic !,….: )

  519. This is so sad. It has shook me up like a fist in my solar plexus. Some real action has to be taken by the rest of that will pull our energy out if this cynical game.

  520. Israel authorities/military sources claim that one or more activists took in posession weapons from commandos and then started firing and then israelis responded.

True or not, time will tell.

  521. So, please note, that ignorant f*%ks and provocateurs will be banned forever from commenting on this site. If you want freedom to speak your ignorance freely, then go create your own site
