100′s die every year in the Summer here in India
ever since I was born it has been the same when the Monsoons are a little late
If the Monsoons are on time then the fatality is less
So wat I am sayin is tat yer over hypin Global warmin as ta Cause
    AND I live in INDIA

  2. @ Stacy
Freakin 10 years back communication or NEWS dissemination was so freakin tough
Why are they targetin Kids on Global Warmin Stacy ???
Doesnt that seem a bit queer to you ???
Why don’t they teach about banks in School ?????
Why dont they teach Kids about 30% interest rates on CC
Why do you hafta pic special subjects fer fifnance
After all once ya Graduate life is about payin Bills aint it ???
Do you think kids can do anythin about Global warmin ????
Or do you see it like a mind control /conditionin as I see it
anyways what ever side ya tilt to it aint gonna make a difference
The average Joe includin me cares a rats arse for the Environment
    I WANT THAT BUGGATI VEYRON.
PS I know ya gonna hate me fer tis
    but I never knowingly lie
    Climate Change is a Hoax
and to even suggest that humans are the root cause
in my books we are arrogant to suggest that and are too full of ourselves to even think that IMO

  3. People have seemed to missed the fact that the reason temperatures are so high is because it’s a World Cup Summer and there’s never been an unseasonally cold one, in fact they’ve been blazing – check the temp records!

It’s also a Depression Summer so don’t count that out either. 1934 – World Cup Year (Italy beat the Czech’s 2-1 in the final) and Great Depression peak was also the hottest Summer ever recorded.

So get the ice water out it’s gonna be a scorcher!

Trust me no one is mistaking you for an expert.

The MSM press is compromised, scientific press included.

You might learn something by READING what these pillars of scientific virtue say behind the scenes to each other. Scientist told us tobacco was non addictive, for money. Scientists say water fluoridation is/was safe and “beneficial” for health, for money.

People will lie for money and power period.

I am not a Marxist no matter what a .gov site says and like “financial conspiracies” when the .gov says its fake its real…. Carbon is a life giving gas, not a pollutant!

Have you seen the evidence that the “science” was FRAUDULENT?
here are the leaked (whistle blower not thief) FOIA docs which the CRU was withholding and the kept BBC had for weeks before the leak.

ALL the climategate docs.. unzip it and read the pdf… Rules of the game which is basically a propagandists manual on how to sell AGW to the slaves of the world, the fact that reasonably intelligent people are STILL hoodwinked is a testament to the effectiveness of mass psychological manipulations and the human herd instinct.

Potential profit from a worldwide carbon taxation is more than enough motive for any group of scheming Ken Lay types in Govt. and finance who by the way are all pushing the AGW bs and you keep sucking at that logically deficient lie that taxing carbon will do anything besides hurt the western world.

Pollution is bad but CO2 is not pollution.

  5. I don’t profess to be an expert in climate change but I respect the work of unbiased experts. If you’re interested in the issue, you might learn a lot by subscribing to the new journal Nature Climate Change http://www.nature.com/nclimate/marketing/index.html and considering some of the evidence scientifically… oh I forgot, you don’t do that, do you? ;-)

There’s enough seriously worrying evidence suggesting changes in climate.
eg: “In the past 25 years, flowers bloomed 2.2 to 12.7 days earlier than in any other consecutive 25-year period since 1760.”

“Efforts to control climate change require the stabilization of atmospheric CO2 concentrations. This can only be achieved through a drastic reduction of global CO2 emissions. Yet fossil fuel emissions increased by 29% between 2000 and 2008, in conjunction with increased contributions from emerging economies, from the production and international trade of goods and services, and from the use of coal as a fuel source”

What NOAA was saying is that conditions may be more favorable for the formation of hurricanes according to natural occurring cyclical activity in the Pacific: but these conditions are only a factor in the favoring of other factors within the context of daily weather patterns (which cannot be predicted with accuracy).

  7. frances snoot

However the earth is warming that is also clear.

    @Brandon:
No, it’s not. One theory is that the earth is in a stage of warming correlate to anthropogenic influences. The warming will be evident in future according to the theory.

    There are other viewpoints.

Your clarity on the subject is evident from this statement:

” The Water temps off the Carolina, Georgia, Florida coast are warmer than ever.”

  8. I watched a pretty decent doc. on the gulf stream recently, y’all should check it out:

    http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/gulf-stream-next-ice-age/

Also, I saw a doc. in which volcanic eruptions were discussed . . . seems like there is historic evidence showing that big eruptions leads to some cooling (b/c the ash emitted changes the way sunlight if reflected back into space, and because the sulfuric gas that’s emitted also changes the way that light gets reflected). Will be interesting to see whether any degree of cooling comes about b/c of the volcano that erupted in Iceland.

What I’ve noticed here: everything is blooming (and in the case of lilacs, wisteria, clematis . . . blooming & dying back) at least 3 weeks ahead of its normal time. The heat we’re experiencing is already deep summer kind of heat. Noticed yesterday that my lettuces are already bolting and going to seed (I was only able to harvest 1 salad’s worth of greens from them)–they can’t stand this heat, esp. the arugula.

  9. Brandon Sanks

    Stacy,
My great Aunt and Uncle live in Southwest Florida they in 11 years there have seen their homeowners insurance rates triple! This doesn’t even cover water from surge. They have another policy through FEMA that doesn’t give me much hope. They are snowbirds they are back here in Illinois now. The insurance companies screwed millions after Katrina in Mississippi and Louisiana.

  10. @Stacy,….Looks real to me,….but I’m easily swayed !
Just show me a picture and some “scientific” rhetoric,..and I’m bought, hook, line,..and sinker : )

  11. Brandon Sanks

    Snoot,
I know all about El Nino and La Nina. Last year I knew we would be okay because El Nino was dominant. However the earth is warming that is also clear.

  12. frances snoot

    @Brandon:
The hurricane season is being influence by La Nina/Pacific oscillation, not global warming.

“Another climate factor known to significantly impact Atlantic hurricane activity is the El Niño/ Southern Oscillation (ENSO). The three phases of ENSO are El Niño, La Niña, and Neutral. El Niño tends to suppress Atlantic hurricane activity, while La Niña tends to enhance it (Gray 1984). These typical impacts can be strongly modulated by conditions associated with a low- or high-activity era. We expect either Neutral or La Niña conditions during the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season, with La Niña now becoming increasingly likely.”

    http://www.cpc.noaa.gov/products/outlooks/hurricane.shtml

The noaa site has a caveat:

“For the U.S. and the region around the Caribbean Sea, the historical probability of a hurricane strike generally increases with increasing seasonal activity. During exceptionally active seasons, the historical probabilities increase markedly for multiple hurricane strikes in these regions. Nonetheless, predicting the location, number, timing, and strength, of hurricanes landfalls is ultimately related to the daily weather patterns, which are not predictable weeks or months in advance. As a result, it is currently not possible to reliably predict the number or intensity of landfalling hurricanes at these extended ranges, or whether a given locality will be impacted by a hurricane this season. Therefore, NOAA does not make an official seasonal hurricane landfall outlook.”

  13. @Brandon – yes, I know

@all – can you believe this is not photoshopped?? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704875604575280351592487386.html?mod=e2tw / / / and, if it is real, any engineers care to explain how this happened?

  14. Brandon Sanks

    Stacy,
They are calling for a hurricane season in the Atlantic in 2010 that would rival 2004 and 2005. The Water temps off the Carolina, Georgia, Florida coast are warmer than ever.

  15. frances snoot

There’s a lot of wind blowing about this thread.

The question is not if the climate is changing, but who is using the changes in the climate to exact a toll on the human population.

If it’s not bad enough for one’s house to blow down or to broil like a piece of meat, we have to put up with the pappy/banker/UN hegemon dictating public policy for their elite family profit and telling us it is all for

    OUR OWN GOOD.

  16. Id almost forgotton about man made global warming. I keep asking, and am never supplied with, real observational evidence that man made co2 causes climate change. I dont mean a few cherry picked articles about a flood or a hot weekend from some soon to be declared bankrupt left wing rag. I mean real and proper scientific observational evidence. My mind is open. Please supply the evidence.

  17. @RedZebra,……You have to be able to perceive the bigger picture, and have a vast understanding of how things are,…
Some like to parrot “their” ideologies,….other’s just keep asking questions,.go figure (whoops, you don’t do that do you!)

  18. Mr Grinch and others,
if, as you seem to believe, scientists can’t be trusted because of “questionable science based on corrupted data sets and political agendas”, how exactly do you come up with your irrefutable belief that man has made no contribution to climate change? Is it just your inate ability to smell a consipracy in every issue (particularly those that don’t suit your worldview)? Or you just prefer to place your trust in amateurs over dedicated researchers? What exactly are your criteria for whom to believe?

  19. PaulH from Scotland

    @Stacey

My heart always sighs a little when you get on the global warming thang; largely ‘cos you seem so damn smart and well-informed on all your other topics.

  20. @Stacy,..Don’t take me seriously,…..you know this, right? : )

  24. @Stacy,…..Okay,..I must admit, Hitler did have a dodgy mustache, and I did tell him, history wouldn’t be kind to him, because of it,…: )
Only kidding BTW, I’m to young to have known him lol,..
All these debates do tend to pull away from the “Main” agenda,..(A totalitarian, socialist, communitarian civilization), more on your wave length, I might add! Not a million miles away from Mr Adolf Hitlers, ideologies (I know that wasn’t his real name), but you knew that right?
    @Jiimbo,……BEEHive,…..I mean behave,.you fool!

  25. @Youri – and, yet, Youri it is the House of Saud, Exxon, Dick Cheney and their followers who use only one month’s data or one season’s data to argue against thousands upon thousands of scientific data going back over hundreds of years, or in the case of ice cores going back tens of thousands of years; and you, yourself, are arguing that temperatures are going down over a short time period, when that is simply not true; you can look at a hundred year chart of global temperatures and it would clearly show temperatures rising; and in that time temperatures will HAVE to fall for a year or two or three at a time, just through the laws of physics, nothing in nature moves in a perfectly straight line; if you look at this chart of gold over ten years (to remove from the high emotions of those trapped in the talking points of corporations) for over a year from mid 2007 to mid 2008, gold was down by over 20% . . . did this stop the rising trend of gold? or was that within the channels of what one could expect in a rising price? http://www.soyouthinkyoucanrant.com/charts/popup/au3650nyb.html

  26. Youri Carma

One day of warm weather doesn’t make global warming. That’s the most simple way the IPCC tries to mind control you by spreading their propaganda when they finaly got their warm summer day.

Don’t fall for it it’s a Hoax. The earth has been Cooling since 1995!

  27. How is Jimbo different than the Israel apologists on the other thread?

No facts or arguments outside the approved MSM propaganda bullet points.

Has he read the climategate emails? Has he actually looked into it?

How can you trust the science daily article referencing questionable science based on corrupted data sets and political agendas without looking into it?

  28. @Dedo – and, using your argument, how very very interesting, indeed, that you and BP, Dick Cheney and the House of Saud, those paragons of virtue, push very very similar arguments onto the public; and, gee whiz, I do believe you and Adolf Hitler have similar ideas on gold; very very unsavory characters you hang out with . . . I do believe your Hitler trumps Al Gore in the whole category of ‘unsavory’ . . . . hmmm, verrrrrrry interesting . . .

  29. They are nutters because there is a wealth of scientific evidence supporting the global warming position. They are nutters because they believe that the scientific case is that humans breathing too much is warming the planet.

Not everyone who sees a conspiracy is a nutter, but if you listen only to the propaganda and pay no attention to the supposed “conspirators” then you will make nutcase allegations on the internet about how humans are breathing too much. Of course there are real conspiracies, like the one to confuse the public about the science on global warming so that those who cause the damage can maintain their way of life without being made to pay for the consequences. Who will suffer most from extreme climate events and from desertification? It’s the poor. Who will always be able to buy fertile land or force others off it? It’s the rich. They want to keep polluting and to stay rich or get richer, because they know they can escape the devastation they cause. They don’t need to care about reality in the same way the rest of us do, so they convince you that nonsense is reality. And you love them for it.

  30. @jimbo,….Explain to me why you label folk who think there is a conspiracy,….as,”nutters”,. Is this to give your explanation more credence.
Or do you associate conspiracies with reptilian royal families, as intended?

  31. “April in Europe was ABSOLUTE proof from many commenters that there is no climate change”

Hardly ABSOLUTE proof… more a response to alarmism like this.

    http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/snowfalls-are-now-just-a-thing-of-the-past-724017.html

  32. Dedo, it is only the conspiracy nutters who think there is a scientific case being made for humans causing catastrophic changes to the atmosphere, by breathing to much. The real scientists know this is not true. They know that it is the burning of carbon-based fuels and the cutting down of rainforests which causes the catastrophe. The phenomenon is well understood on paper and they have the data to show it happening in reality.

CO2′s effect on climate is like inflation’s effect on stock markets. If you adjust the markets for inflation they don’t rise over time, which is possibly what the climate would be like over the last 2 centuries without industrialization. Adding inflation to the markets results a definite uptrend with periods of sideways or downward movements. Adding CO2 to the atmosphere does the same. Saying that human-made CO2 does not affect the climate is like saying money printing does not affect stock prices. The evidence for each is immense.

Another way of looking at it for those who fell for Ian Plimer’s manipulated chart and “global cooling” propaganda:
    http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/11/091112121611.htm

  33. @NicAbbot,…”Maybe this oil spill in the US will finally make all the f***king guzzling Americans wake up and realise what they are doing to the planet”

The oil industry was sold to the American public,..exactly the same as this “Climate Change”,..hmm,.shenanigans,.
So try not to be so harsh!
The minds of men are so easily molded, ask Stacy,..: )
Look to the “culture creation” industry for your attack on “Man”, and his ills,….

  34. @ Stacy
    >>
Didn’t you watch the Best Party video yesterday??
    <<
Have now. Cheered me up no end. Actually living here in Norway in the Spring it's hard to feel to down for long. Better enjoy it before returning to the UK in August, ugh! I can't wait to give up my bike and go back to battling the 4x4s (NOT!)

Maybe this oil spill in the US will finally make all the f***king guzzling Americans wake up and realise what they are doing to the planet, but I doubt it. Still if it is tipping point and finally makes those idiots the danger and damage that oil represents then the environment could benefit. At least they are closing down further offshore development for now.

The thing that really got me down was murder on the aid flotilla yesterday. I was so mad I didn't even dare comment. I hope Turkey keeps pushing this.

  35. Euro/dollar taking a dive,…..pound/dollar, ranging,……odd! : )

  36. If I wasn’t mistaken Stacy,.I would think you had an agenda to push,..you seem intent on selling certain ideas, that are aligned with certain,..shall we say unsavory characters,.. ah hum,….: )

  37. @Stacy,……You’re bang on with the climate change!
If the climate remained constant (no change), we’d be in a right two and eight (Cockney slang for state)
But to say humans are causing catastrophic changes to the atmosphere, by breathing to much,..is laughable,….
but then again,…you are quite the comedian! : )
Next you’ll be saying there are to many humans on the planet,..and we have to abide by the austerity measures being drawn up,.including rationed healthcare,..(eugenics here we come) lol
    http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/66786

  38. LOL, I figured doublespeak would have to appear due to the fact that a colder than usual April in Europe was ABSOLUTE proof from many commenters that there is no climate change; so how to reconcile this assertion with the almost simultaneous hottest summer (and, technically, it’s not even summer) on record in India ? In my mind, one week, one month, one year proves nothing; it is the decades long trend. Look at any stock or commodity chart and on a weekly or monthly basis it is ‘crashing’ or ‘surging’ in a way that is totally opposite to what the obvious trend line is. And just because scamsters and fraudsters occupy every level of power within our society from civil society to government to big business, this does not disprove scientific fact.

  39. From the article…..

The Indian Meterological Department attributes the record heat to lack of atmospheric humidity, hot dry winds blowing across the south-western Thar desert and the effects of last year’s El Nino cycle.

Mean temperatures for both March and April were the highest in more than 100 years.

Columnists have wondered why, given that scorching temperatures in India are inevitable, the heat has become the centre of every conversation. For Jug Suraiya, a well-known writer, the answer lies in the concept of karma and rebirth.

“That’s why we moan and bitch and bellyache,” Suraiya explained in The Times of India newspaper. “Because by doing so we hope in our next incarnation, life will, in all senses of the term, be cool.”
    ===============
So remember its just karma when banksters think up carbon tax and derivatives scams, we deserve it.
