A Greek-style debt problem is the new black

Stacy Summary:  Every leader in the world seems to be scrambling to declare their country the next Greece; today it is Japan.  It could be a clever ruse to exhaust the wolfpack of speculators.

  1. Hello everybody,

    I’m sure you know this already but it’s just a reminder. Wikileaks is in danger.

    Please help support them as much as possible. They requested that I start a friends of Wikileaks in my area…could you also start a friends of Wikileaks in your area?

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    @Youri
    By the way what is true for MONOPOLISTIC Hollywood, is even truer in finance. If Europe had developed its own financial model and had kept a critical judgement towards the USA/UK wizards (equivalent to big tits silicon Hollywood stars), Europe wouldn’t be in the deep shit it is today. USA is not a country, it’s a mental illness. And if you don’t understand, I because you are not at 100 km of the US borders. I am. And I know USA is a mental illness specially with our new mmigrants in Canada.

  4. Marc Authier

    @Youri

    Comes with imperial mentality.
    Big countries generally think they are the center of the universe.

    English speaking nations, particularly USA naturally.pretend to be opened to external influences and cultures. It’s exactly the OPPOSITE !

    Hollywood is a good example. Hollywood imposes its culture to the rest of the world. And the rest of the world gobbles up. You can always dream seing a european film watched by Americans. I don’t hate. It’s just a plain fact. Most Americans don’t know where Afghanistanor or what the difference between Flanders, Wallonia and Netherlands.

    In reality Youri most Americans couldn’t care a fuck about Europe, Flanders, Canada, Québec, Netherlands or Russia. It’s that simple. And sometimes I think that the people themselves living in their own countries ! coudn’t care a fuck about their own nation ! It’s a lot the case for Canada. Most Canadians know better Florida, California than their territory. I can’t stand it. Hollywood feed shits worldwide.

    @Marc Authier

    You misunderstood the relationship cause Canadians suppose to “hate” their “big brother” Americans cause they are arrogant and talk to loud.

    Not the other way around.

    Flanders is catholic and Netherlands protestant. Hey Youri ! Most Americans don’t a fuck about Canada and it’s their close neighbour !

    The Bank of England admitted yesterday that most people simply did not believe that its target of 2 per cent inflation over the next year was credible.

    Its quarterly inflation survey revealed that in May households expected the figure to run at 3.3 per cent, up from an expectation in February of 2.5 per cent. The calculation is the highest for nearly two years.

    The predictions will pile more pressure on the Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee, which is already dealing with rising inflation. CPI inflation soared to 3.7 per cent in April, up from 3.4 per cent in March.

    Oh yeah, the Belgiums “hate” their “big Brother” the Dutch cause they are arrogant and speak to loud.

    The Dutch “hate” their “big Brother” the German cause they are arrogant and speak to loud.

    The whole world “hate” the Americans because they are ignorant and speak to loud and nobody wants to have them as big brother.

  13. Youri Carma

    Most Americans have a tendency to mix up Belgium with the Netherlands. It’s at least the most common mistake I found Americans making.

    So you have the Netherlands and you have Belgium which is a seperate country. In the North of Belgium (Vlaanderen) they speak Dutch but in the south of Belgium (Walonië) they speak French – The land ofAgatha Christies creation – Hercules Poirot.

    MAX KEISER — What is happening in Japan is ground zero for what you describe as “savers vs. speculators.” Japan Post is really the foundation of Japan’s savings. As the largest holder of personal savings in the world it is a prime target for speculators backed by the US and EU governments.

    Recently the EU and US threatened to file a complaint to the WTO about a proposed plan in Japan to _raise_ the cap on savings accounts at Japan Post. Shizuka Kamei, the finance minister who recently resigned / was forced to resign, brushed aside the threat by pointing out the massive government backed bail-outs in the United States (ex. General Motors as a competitor to Toyota).

    Now the cabinet has changed and Kamei has resigned. They are playing up the debt problem as a further rational to push through the legislation that stalled pre-financial crisis to privatize Japan Post and hence make available the trillions in dollars of funds to the global speculators.

    This is truly ground zero of SAVERS VS. SPECULATORS.

    Investigate JAPAN POST PRIVATIZATION please, you will find it very interesting.

  45. Let me say that I find Max’s explanation, “The Look Back Trade” a very good explanation for the fact that Goldman Sachs sold $250 million of BP stock and Tony Hayward dumped 30% of his BP holdings before the oil spill.

    However hearing new info on AJS today together with the info I allready gathered makes me believe that this was premeditated by the satanists who are deep into the occulte. In their insane occultic believe they must tell us before hand what they are going to do.

    Not only was this oil spill anounced in the movie “Knowing” with Nicolage cage but was also anounced in the Illuminati variant of the tarrot playing cards.

    Movies and television series are often used by these satanists to send us a message also known as preliminary conditioning. The purpose of this is to make the upcoming event known in your unconsious part of the brain so that if the actual event occurs it won’t be completely new for you and as such has allready established a degree of acceptance not leading to over reaction or panic behavior.

    For example it is known for a fact that some scripts of the X-Files where directly provided by the secret service from which some parts have direct connection to the satanists.

  46. More on the mis-information on the Flotilla;

    One of the most striking trends following the flotilla attack has been how quickly Israeli hasbara is being exposed by internet journalists. The doctored IOF audio clips, where amateurs with mock Arab accents hiss ‘Go back to Aushwitz’ to Israeli naval officers. Well they didn’t take long to pull apart did they? Then there are the (so-pathetic-they’re-almost-funny claims the flotilla was linked to Al Quaeda. I laughed out loud to read in an Israeli paper that humanitarian activist (and former US marine) Ken O’Keefe was going to Gaza to; ‘train a commando unit in Hamas.’ I know Ken fairly well. Quite frankly I’m not sure who should be more insulted by this stupidity him or Hamas?

    gosh, if citgo (hugo chavez’s oil co) created this mess, i somehow feel the response would be different, guess the heat is still on GS so their commodity price rigging days are to be curtailed for awhile, this mess in the gulf will easily explain $9us/gal gas to all the useless eaters, not to mention heightened security along the border for some such reason.
    when gas hits $12us, we’ll be ready for a draft, which i believe to be the plan out of this financial mess, a la FDR beats depression thru conscription.
    get ready for peak TOIL, ask max ’bout the daisies, “they neither spin, nor toil” love when max busts a little JC, heck, even confucious said “treat others as you would have them treat you”(500 years before yaweh’s boy), but what does all this mean for the banksters. Salsipuedes!

  62. …in fact we could say that we’ve discovered a new kind of combination!

    Socialised fascism!

    The public bears the lass, but because of the mergerised state and corporate interests, the people pay the costs when the business loses.
    “Brilliant!”

  63. @ underfundedmentalist

    I find most “-isms” wanting in this modern day and age.

    But traditionally speaking; in communism, the state owns the assets (or at least the money making enterprises)

    In socialism, the people (collectively) do.

    Thus if we are to chose an “ism” it seems that Fascism is the most appropriate. The merger or corporate and state interests. (Notice “the people” don’t get mentioned in that)

    Seriously, some socialism is beneficial, communism, unnecessary, but what we (or the Saudis) have is neither communist or socialist or a combination of the two. It’s arguably a fascist-lite oligarchy. — Like most of the rest of the world (sure, some countries excepted)

This is a logical move if your mind is jammed by copy right rotection fashist and devide and exploit mentality (where everyone has to buy the same crap on their own, even if it where better to share). A finnish judge saw the light, and they will decriminalize open wireless networks. A win for perpetualism, because open solar driven networks would make wireless virtually costless..

    The Saudi subjects, as their passport refers to them, have as much control over their govt. as the rest of the worlds slaves, they’re just a little more up front about their state of slavery. Until we open the banks’ books, and discover the real numbers, we are all just pretending to skip down the yellow brick road, what i call ostrich-nomics. History is full of tragic tales of the bubble of perception bursting all over the lower 99%. Today’s private gains are wholly dependant on public losses. In other words we are practicing communist subzidized capitalism.

We can identify with the heroes of the tales and become in our mind the masters and mistresses of our own destinies.”"

    “For much of the 19th century teachers, parents, and religious figures, particularly in the United States, deplored the Grimms’ collection for its raw, uncivilized content. An American educator in 1885 railed: “The folktales mirror all too loyally the entire medieval worldview and culture with all its stark prejudice, its crudeness and barbarities.” Offended adults objected to the gruesome punishments inflicted on the stories’ villains. In the original “Snow White” the evil stepmother is forced to dance in red-hot iron shoes until she falls down dead. In “The Goose Maid” a treacherous servant is stripped, thrown into a barrel studded with sharp nails, and dragged through the streets. Even today some protective parents shy from the Grimms’ tales because of their reputation for violence.”

  102. @ Stacy

    You asked a couple of weeks (maybe a month or two ago ?) about possible relevant interviewees for one of your shows from other countries, disciplines, etc.

    (I’ve already nominated Nassim Taleb in a previous thread as one possibility. See my post in the previous thread here for a vid interview with him; though there are many others also available on the ‘net)

    But one other residing in Australia that I thought could be of interest — because he seems to (gee I hope I’ve got this right!) have such contrarian views on national debt — is Prof. Bill Mitchell; Research Professor in Economics and Director of the Centre of Full Employment and Equity (CofFEE), at the University of Newcastle, NSW Australia.

    Because I’m not an economist, I feel inadequate to the task of summarising his views here, but his position is chartalist.
    And thus, an economic cat-amongst-the-pigeons perspective at a time of sovereign debt crises could, of course, be very interesting (if not provocative).

    He runs a blog here:
    http://bilbo.economicoutlook.net/blog

    I guess he’d consider his “introduction” to his chain of thoughts here:
    http://bilbo.economicoutlook.net/blog/?cat=11

    He’s mentioned in a 2009 article by Steve Keen, here:
    Keensian Economic (sic) Good Alternative Theory?

    What would happen to Canada if Quebec were to leave the federation? Would the rest hold together?

  104. @ Stacy – Every time I hear it here about us “being like Greece,” I just think that it’s another way to lead the sheep to accepting austerity measures slaughter. That, and further riling up the “fire teachers and cut more social services!” crowd.

  105. Marc Authier

    Sniffinf benzene kills the brain cells. Rich and brainless like an Albertan. The tar sands are an accident waiting to happen.

  106. wish max would make up his mind about fucking silver. he was pimping it the other day.

  107. @Marc. yep canada was built from the east. calgarians are yanks.

  108. @Bonn. if you don’t understand me you need to drink more. it will all come clear you skinny fucker. :-)

  109. Marc Authier

    @FranceSix
    Morons from Alberta. We built the country. Anyways it’s typical colorless red neck humour. I remember the nice bumper sticker “Let the bastard in the East freeze to death.” Most of the capital that financed your tar sands came from Ontario and Québec. Just a friendly reminder.

  110. I love ta sense of humor @ tis site

    LOL

    2012. I am not in numerology. I leave it to the deranged folks running the USA, the UK and Isreal. Kabbala or Maya it’s bull. The end of the world happens every second for someone down here. The 26,000 years cycle is ending. Was this explosion an inside job ? Quite useful indeed to give a real nice boost to the price of oil.

  113. My favourite joke about the National Assembly in Quebec City is that it was built with Albertan taxpayer dollars.

  114. a Solution:

    1. set reserve requirements to 100%
    2. Have the government create a sufficient amount of debt-free legal tender fiat and distribute it equally to the adults in the population.
    3. after reset, implement fundamental reform in money and banking.

    Winners:
    1. Borrowers who can pay down their mortgages to market price levels.
    2, Savers who get compensated for years of suppressed interest rates.
    3. Banks, who get fixed in nominal terms.
    4. Governments who gain from a restored economy.

    Losers:
    1. The banks in real terms.
    2. The legitimacy of the current banking and money model.

    (cf. Deuteronomy 15:1, Leviticus 25)

  115. frances snoot

    @marc:
    Are we supposed to believe the fantastical now seeing as 2012 has been built up in our collective space-our commonplace?

    “Perhaps the most important distinction betwen the classical commonplace mentality and that of the Renaissance was in the way each conceived of knowledge. While the ancient orators conceived of the topics and their seats of arguments as located in the mental areas of the mind in which thought processes developed and were expressed in the oral tradition of the spoken word, the Renaissance teacher and schoolboy tended more to locate his topics and their accumulated wisdom outside the mind on the pages of his commonplace book where thoughts were manipulated like objects. Sixteenth-and seventeeth century man was concerned with the written word much more than the ancient rhetorician had been.”–Renaissance Concepts of the Commonplace/Lechner

    Surely we have not an oral nor a written tradition: I would define the proliferation of news stories in our recent time as ‘fairy tales’: objectifying a cooperative existence laid forth by those we are told to trust with our future.

    Are we children to accept these stories as truth?
    Are these stories meant to impart religious adherence?

    Of what punishment henceforth heresy?

  116. Marc Authier

    @Snoot
    Comprendo Snoot. The usual racists from Canada. Yeah. And 10 years ago we were going down the road of Cuban. Conservative and Liberal party assholes. That’s the type of hate propaganda we have to face continually.
    You have to sympathise with the Greeks and Icelanders. Besides that the UK will soon be in the greek club. Much earlier that greek Québec.

    I don’t have a bent Snoot. They do. Next month they will certainly find a comparison with ZImbabwe.

  117. I would be looking for a Yen meltup, (yes, I’m still on about that) since Japan may be like any country whose banking system is exposed to foreign debts, especially if those debts are all involved in Chinese real estate.

    http://www.moneyandmarkets.com/debt-facade-cracking-in-u-k-as-sovereign-contagion-spreads-39361

    Because when in Canada something goes wrong, the English Canadians always blame on it Québec. We are like the Jews in Europe, eternal scapegoats. It’s always our fault. I’m surprised I heven’t heard some Canadian assholes blame the BP fiasco ont the back of a Louisiane Cajun french guy, oil operator or worker. No particular bent Snoot.

    A month ago an Ontario asshole TV bitch from BNN network compared the finance of Québec to Greece. Ontarian journalists are consumate scumbags when it comes to Québec. They love to compare us to anything that is bad. Real racists Snoot. You cannot understand. Ontario by the way has worst finances than California !

    http://www.moneyandmarkets.com/debt-facade-cracking-in-u-k-as-sovereign-contagion-spreads-39361

    Anyways let’s talk about UK a little bit.

    Why the puritanical bent, Marc?

  122. Marc Authier

    Hell. A couple of weeks ago you,.some anti-french and anti-Québec Canadian racists compared Québec as the next Greece. Does it really matter anyways ? In this stupid system, the bankrupted are the ones that win, not the savers. Might as well do like the Romans do in Rome. The Greeks will have the last laught.
