  1. just a node aspiring to be an anti-node ?
why does someone feel responsible for having to centering this ?
it is happening … I can see it; but I have a sketchy filter.

  2. Ooops!

I meant Madoff could have bought 100 Planck Telescopes

    $500 million x 100 = $50 billion

ps. Thanks for the DSN@Home link, Max Power

  3. FYI, the whole Planck telescope cost about $500 million. Bernie Maddoff could have bought 10 of them with the money he stole, not to mention TARP or $trillion bank bailouts.

  5. @Rick B – eh? are you telling me that you traveled to the Sombrero Galaxy?

  10. @Stacy: Agree that the connections are where the interesting information lies, props to you and Max for drawing them out for the rest of us.

@Bloke: 2:40: I didn’t mean to make a point at your expense, figured your comment about the “financial universe” was in jest. And thanks sincerely for the links to more on the Planck telescope image and microwave radiation map. Fascinating stuff, truly.

  11. What’s got me scratching my head is this:

How is it possible to take a photo of the entire universe from the inside the universe? AND How would a person effectively take a picture of the outside of a home, while standing inside of the house to be photoed?

    Very Interesting.

  18. frances snoot

Bonn: we operate on a simple predicate that has been offered us as the sole choice. It’s not only limiting: it’s a common thread within the ‘confirmation’ based on simple exteriorities:

“As far as the interiority-exteriority relationship in the evolution of
historical facts is concerned, Hegel’s Philosophy of History describes
excesses, be it of exteriority or interiority. Similarly to Schelling, Hegel
was an avowed admirer of the Nolan’s philosophy, deeming him to be
one of the main inspirers of the dialectical method, which has as main
core the unity and struggle of contraries, the Becoming as a result of the
tensions between form and content, abstract and concrete, interiority
    and exteriority. ”

    http://international-journal-of-axiology.net/articole/nr5/art16.pdf

There is no “becoming” to us as a result of our commitment to in/out, right/wrong, evil/good, death/life. Indeed, it is the least becoming attribute of the term human.

    Feeling transcends form.

We don’t need to follow the recipe on their cake box.

(I tried the cake: it’s all hype and jibe, hype and jibe)

  19. @Bonn. drink some water and lay down. i think tomorrow will be another day. :-)

  20. Well that’s a beautiful image.

“Like the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt who built their empire with the help of a Grand Vizier, Queen Elizabeth II also has a Grand Vizier who serves as her most trusted adviser. His name is Lord Evelyn Rothschild and he is the second wealthiest and most powerful person on Earth. He is also lord of the world’s financial capitol, the city state of London. Lord Rothschild and his ring of power hide their identities behind thirteen city council members who stand in as their representatives. On November 30th 2000, Lord Rothschild, now in his 70s, got married in London to a wealthy Zionist business woman named Lynn Forrester. The couple then jetted to Washington and spent their wedding night in the White House. Just months before 911 they moved to New York and settled into their 18th floor luxury palace at Riverhouse where two private terraces offered them front row seats for the scheduled 911 show.”

    Ya livin in dreamland Snoots

    “But what does that mean?”

But Rousseau could not think this writing, that takes place before and within speech. To the extent that he belonged to the metaphysics of presence, he dreamed of the simple exteriority of death to life, evil to good, representation to presence, signifer to signified, representer to represented, mask to face, writing to speech. But all such oppositions are irreducibly rooted in metaphysics. Using them, one can only operate in reversals, that is to say by confirmations….

But what does THAT mean? The opposition of dream to wakefulness, is not that a representation of metaphysics as well? And what should dream or writing be if, as we know now, one may dream while writing? And if the scene of dream is always a scene of writing? At the bottom of a page of Emile, after having once more cautioned us against books, writing, signs “What is the use of inscribing on their brains a list of symbols which mean nothing for them?”), after having opposed the “tracing” of these artificial signs to the “indelible characters” of the Book of Nature, Rousseau adds a note:

“the dreams of a bad night are given to us as philosophy. You will say I too am a dreamer; I admit it, but I do what others fail to do, I give my dreams as dreams and leave the reader to discover whether there is anything in them which may prove useful to those who are awake”(pg 76)

(full quote pg.315, Of Grammatology, Jacques Derrida)

And so, Bonn, I would like to ask you to define for me what it means to be ‘awake’ and how that matters?

  29. Ahh i got ya there ya little will check a little before i respond

  31. frances snoot

“The essence of our story is simple, The strokes of runes and letters of the alphabet are much more than scripts for writing. Major alphabets have an underlying system. They reflect a theory of ordering the universe. Initially they were attempts to explain the creation of the world, cosmic laws of nature, and outline stages in the development of man and woman. In Sanskrit, the goal went beyond accounting for existence (how we got here) and focussed on the complementary question (how do we get back: how can we be reunited with the One beyond?). This acquired a very practical dimension. It became one of the three ways of conduct, one of 3 kritis: Vikriti, acting in an uncontrolled manner, Prakriti, acting according to nature and instincts, Sanskriti was acting according to culture. The development of language, the alphabet, and writing thus became linked with human evolution and civilization.”

  47. @bloke,

Thank you for the article and photograph. I was relieved the Lloyd Blankfein was not to be seen in that bright band of light where the earth and sun reside.

It did sicken me to know that somewhere in that bright light is earth where a few human scum have essentially destroyed the ocean in the Gulf and as it continues the world.

  48. Aaaaaw that was only a tease, to Max, as I thought he was teasing me. Didnt mean any offence, honest Guv.

Keep up the great work guys, I love all the interesting stuff you post Stacey, I come here every day for a dose and was happy to find something I could contribute to :-(

    With love and respect, and hopefully one day, peace;

    Bloke (with tail between legs)

  49. @myxzptlk – I always ignore anyone who tells me what and what not I ought to do; the economic, financial, ecological, political, societal and cultural systems are all interlinked so it makes sense to discuss and ponder all of them, but on just a basic human level curiosity is natural to us all and opening conversation to ‘amateurs’ can often lead to discovery that ‘experts’ are trained not to see by the fact that they are trained to look somewhere else

  50. I had something to add here, but I put it in the wrong place (see the thread underneath) so my comment now doesn’t really matter.

Max / Stacy, ignore Bloke’s comment about sticking to the economy, it’s nice to read a site that cuts through the political BS, too!

  53. @Bonn

Wow! If what you say is correct (and im sure it is) then this means that somewhere out there is between 1200 and 2000 Geithners!

If i can only coax them all into the same transponder and reprogram them, why I shall become invinsible, master os all knnown Universes!

    Muhahaha! Mu hahahahaha! MUHAHAHAHAHA!!

and Udee, thanks so much for remiding me of my favourite Hymm, it truly is deeply spiritual and I sing it under my breath every time i’m at a funeral, try it yourself, spiritually uplifting stuff, thank you!

  54. The Dork of Cork

    I stand corrected.

  55. Max

    You can infact take a composite “picture” of the universe from inside it. You then construct your map in the digital realm where it can be ‘flipped’ inside out to reveal a diagramatic representation of the Universe, heres one ‘we’ made earlier;

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/2814947.stm

Thats the background radiation/ heat map of the universe

Heres more on the new image above (the milky way) here, its a light map of the galaxy we find us in.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science_and_environment/10501154.stm

Notice that no matter how far you zoom in, Geithers forehead will NEVER BECOME VISIBLE, this picture is just to large, dont even try it.

If that answers the first part of your query, heres my stab at the 2nd part. If i was outside the Universe taking photos, I, or at least the photos, would have to re-enter this universe in order for you to see them, thereby rendering them unbeliveable, this is known as ‘Blokes Paradox’ I think we are stuck with this one for now.

All the best, love your work dude but please, stick with the financial universe. you really got a good handle on that one. ;-)

  56. @ Max
accordin to project camelot we have 144 or 1200 or 2000 parallel universes

  57. The Dork of Cork

sorry I just checked on the Internet – this telescope is sensitive to microwave radiation so therefore this must be imaging the universe and not our Galaxy.
It seems to be just more sensitive to the cosmic microwave satellite they sent up in I think 1989 to first image this .
But it was 2 Bell Lab technicians working on “The Big Ear” radio telescope in the 60s who first discovered this after removing some Pigeon shit from their antennae which they feared may impact on their results !

they have a picture of the universe but in the microwave spectrum – this picks up the heat/energy from the big bang which is now a very cool but detectable 3 degrees kelvin about -270 degrees kelvin.
The picture above may be in the infra red spectrum but I am not certain – if its in the infra red it is picking up glowing stardust within our own Galaxy.

  61. @ max keiser
    LOLOLOLOLOL
I was tinkin ta same tin I mean you’d need 2 of tose telescopes to get the picture whos capturin the guy takin ta picture I was tinkin on tose lines

    Hic ;-)

  62. bloke

how could they get a picture of the universe unless they were positioned outside of the universe and wouldn’t that be a bigger story covering the existence of the parallel universe from where the photo was taken?

  63. its actually “only” a picture of the Milky Way, our galaxy. Its not a “picture” of the universe. The Milky Way is just one of many billions of galaxies, all contaaining billions of stars, many of those with planets.

    Beautiful picture though :)
