  1. In case you all were curious how your Congressperson voted on the financial reform bill….Here’s the vote:

    http://www.opencongress.org/vote/2009/h/968

    Is this correct?

    Ayes: 223 (Democrat: 223; Republican: 0)

0 (zero) Republicans voted for the financial reform bill? Huh?

  2. Stacy – there’s too much gold bug stuff here.

“One Day The Yen May Turn To Toilet Paper… But In The Meantime It’s Busting To Multi-Year Highs”

I guess that just blows the idea that printing leads to hyperinflation? (Or does it just blow?)

  3. We lost a few tonnes, a few years ago. Because we had some deposit in U.S. Bank in New York that went bust!… yes uncle SAM is such a nice country!…we rent him azores and they lost our gold!..

  5. Ben is a jerk. He says some of the dumbest things.

He was a speech writer and lawyer for Nixon.

  6. Illinois Brandon

The Vatican supported both him and Franco. They have yet to say sorry to the people of Spain and Portugal for enslaving them to these guys.

I see it is blame the victims time. I suppose before they became unemployed they were pleasant and hardworking?

Let me clue you, Ben Stein. Government backed fractional reserve banking is unstable as well as dishonest probably because it IS dishonest.

Good evening Stacy. I did not like your classic Greek gown so much today. You are a classy gal, Stacy. How about wearing some typical office attire occasionally so the wage slaves can dream of a boss like you? :)

  8. @ SAO

I’ve reviewed some evidence that HAARP is up to something beyond ‘passive research’. I’m not yet close to being convinced that it can can cause natural disasters.

However I take your other points on essentially geopolitical strategies being a behind-the-scenes motivating factor as a disappointing, real possibility.

  9. Eh…DAW!!!

  10. @Majestic
The way I see it the IMF is just setting the position for the US to totally take over Haiti by “forgiving” the loan. The earthquake was caused by a scalar weapon such as HAARP which the US military controls in Alaska.
The first thing the US did after the earthquake (and they did not respond immediately) was send in the military crowding the airport so medical supplies couldn’t get in.

There is not only natural resources in Haiti such as oil, but it is a strategic position for a military base. That is why the CIA backed coup in 2004 took out democratically elected Aristide. The IMF is basically run by the US. Plus you can’t get blood out of a turnip. Although crooks keep trying.

The cartel does nothing unless they benefit.

  11. Ya, spellin’ and key boardin’ would be nice too!

  12. In a meaureable world wherein we have clear enough understandings to engineer robots – engineer tissue – engineer microbes…one must brood about the atrificial world and a monetary belief, system we obvioulsy do not understand. The long, history shows a series of crisis – let’s simpley end, or perpetuate the crisis. DECIDE

Perhaps this kind of governance under the multilateral system?

  14. One More…. Ben Stein has a much economic sense as as stinky fart.

    @Stacy:
So true. He is a bird in the gilded cage fed by someone, though. And he does seem to pop up at specific venues:

Federalized-America under the eagle took the world to heights which Bono can eulogize: but what governance under the multilateral exchange system?

  16. Just a comment: Steve Forbes is a Capitalist PIG!

  17. @snoot – Bono only sings if the zombie people start to feel the need to do anything meaningful or change the way things operate; when he sings for them and they buy plastic wristbands for him, they think they have done something and then they can go back to worrying about Lindsay Lohan and LeBron James

“In all cases the IDB coordinates its activities with the Haitian authorities and other donors. As a major contributor to Haiti, the IDB is represented on the board of the Interim Haitian Reconstruction Commission, chaired by President Bill Clinton and Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive.”

    sickening

  19. frances snoot

Maybe Bono should sing-a-song to smooth things out?

    http://www.iadb.org/features-and-web-stories/2010-07/english/helping-haiti-recover-from-the-earthquake-7421.html

Our monetary authorities are sitting on that nest egg of donations giving by the pure of heart for Haitian earthquake victims. It’s about empire building, not humanitarian relief. Same/same all over.

  21. frances snoot

    Cancellation? hahahaha~ha!

  22. frances snoot

    @DanV:
Your linkettes insist that the sdr is a ‘straw man’ but all these new strings for Haiti are coming through the inter-Development Bank or the World Bank Group in sdr index.

    @DanValleeee:

    http://indyposted.com/15588/the-world-pledged-9-9-billion-dollars-today-to-rebuild-haiti/

“The World Bank will commit 250 million dollars in new money for Haiti, for a total of 479 million dollars. That includes a cancellation of all outstanding debt that Haiti owes the global lender. Many other governments also promised to cancel Haiti’s debt to help it recover.”

    A gift perhaps? right?

  24. A Yen melt-up will have profound consequences for finance in the Asia-Pacific:

I wonder if anyone has figured out yet that the Yen is in a bull market?

  25. @Majestic,….au naturel ! : )

  26. @ Dedo

So does that make you… a smart ass? ;-)

  27. There are conditionalities attached to loan cancellation agreements, you dumb-asses,… (no such thing as a free lunch) : )

  28. @Majestic….yeah it was big of them considering ….the day is coming that all debt is cancelled or else.

  29. @ dan valley

After so many failed World Bank attempts at reducing Global poverty, I’m impressed the IMF have done something sensible and nice.

(Not wanting to be churlish, but It’s not really a lot of money though, in the banker-bailout scheme of things :-(

Gerald Celente: Wall Street Boys run the show, only Ron Paul has firm grasp

U.S. President Barack Obama has signed into law the biggest financial overhaul since the Great Depression. The main goal is to prevent another economic crisis. Meanwhile, Gerald Celente, the director of the Trends Research Institute, argued that the banks and Wall Street approve of this bill because it is a white wash. “It does nothing to prevent the coming crash of 2010. The bigs only got bigger,” he told RT.

  32. @Bronxy. you could use some water as well.

  33. Looks like the 9 year cycle in gold have toped early and has now failed, means we will have a hole 9 years down in gold. And with the condition of a “one market” gold and commodity’s will go down together with stocks is this great deflationary environment. Only hope for gold is a coming biflation later. Biflation is parts of inflation and deflation at the same time.
